Honestly, I have no idea how I did it. I still can’t believe I actually finished writing this behemoth of a fanfiction (that took three and a half years of my life!) and that I'm actually sharing it with the world. Sometimes it feels less like I wrote it and more like I stumbled across it on someone’s hard drive. Like it's some kind of hidden treasure I’m now passing on to all of you. 😂

One day I hope I’ll be able to reread this story with fresh eyes. Until then, I’ll be experiencing it through your eyes, and I can't thank you enough for that!

I’ve been reading BYSS for a while and I need to put it directly into my mouth and shake it! I love it, it’s like a classic tragedy because they’re idiots but in a way that’s so painfully in character that you want to grab them by the hair, force them to look at each other, and go HE’S IN LOVE WITH YOU YOU BEAUTIFUL MORON then watch both of them go what? Huh? No he’s not! and cartoonishly look at each other at the same time.

I'm so glad you like the story! You're right, it would have ended much sooner if they weren't such idiots around each other. They see all the dots but can't connect them. 🥲

Anyway, the funny thing is, while I was writing BYSS, I was often as frustrated by our boys as you are. During my writing sessions, I would often daydream about what might happen if I made one of them realize the other's feelings. It's one of the things that made me so slow to finish writing the whole thing. 😂

I just discovered your BYSS fic like, two days ago and read the whole thing (latest chapter included) and oh my god???? Holy shit? You do this for free?? 😭💕

Your portrayals of the characters (side ones too) are so refreshing and it feels in-line with the canon universe. The relationship between Heimerdinger and Viktor is so sweet.

Also: THE YEARNING T_T aaaahhhhhhhh and the “but why would he like me back?” insecurity that hey, is super relatable, has me in a chokehold.

Legitimately don’t know how to wait a week for the next update.

Glad you like the way I portray the characters! I'm also very happy you like the relationship between Heimerdinger and Viktor, because this one matters a lot to me. I love to picture Heimerdinger as some kind of eccentric, loving father figure. Plus I've always had a fondness for the chosen/found family trope.

As for the yearning, that's all Jayce and Viktor do in my story. They are professional yearners. I've also had a lovely commenter call BYSS 'THE yearnfest fic ever', which, fair. 😂
