The Petal of the Rose Spell

Learn magick to summon new love

This spell is meant to be cast by practitioners that are not already in love or involved with someone. The practitioner must be available in order for this spell to work. For example, a married individual, in love or not, should not use this spell. The red rose has often historically signified love and romance. Not only is the color a symbol of passion, but the scent of the rose has been known to ignite romance. This is the reason the fragrance is so often used in perfumes. Roses are the flower of Venus, the true goddess of love. This spell will use the rose to call upon Venus and her powers of passion.

This spell should be cast on a Friday evening when the moon is in its waxing phase. Friday is the day of Venus and will offer the best chance to communicate with the goddess. Before beginning collect the following ingredients:

One small red candle

One glass vase of blessed water

Freshly plucked petals from four red roses (It is best if the roses have been grown by the practitioner, however this is not required)

A spool of red thread

A sewing needle

It is always recommended that the practitioner cast a magick circle in a quiet, clean space that will not be interrupted during the ritual. This spell can be done indoors or outdoors, but it should be in a location close to the practitioners bed.

Step 1: Place the candle on the floor or on an altar in the center of the magick circle. Light the wick while saying aloud: I call on you Venus to brighten this space and illuminate this spell.

Step 2: Position the vase of water to the west of the candle and hold your hand over it, palm down, while saying aloud: This blessed water will purify the path to true love.

Step 3: Lay the rose petals in a small group to the east of the candle. Dip two fingers into the water and gently shake them over the petals to sprinkle the blessed water onto them. While doing so say aloud: May the scent of these roses draw true love down the path of Venus.

Step 4: Blow the flame out and gather the petals gently. Carry them to the entrance of your bedroom and then slowly drop the petals leaving a trail on the floor from the doorway to the bed. Make sure to keep three petals separate.

Step 5: Sit on the bed and thread the needle. Being very careful, sew the three petals together, tying a knot to keep them as one. Place the sewn petals under the pillow and let them rest there for one month. After the month has passed the petals can be placed on an altar or a place in the home where they will not be disturbed. They should be kept until true love is found.
