I was fully prepared for an ending where Viktor dies and Jayce stays alive being with Mel.

Can you imagine how my heart dropped when Viktor said "You must go" and the smile that crossed my face when Jayce chose to stay with him?

Jayce chose Viktor over his own life.

I know it wasn't confirmed as canon but I really was expecting to see an ending where Viktor dies and Jayce stays with the girl but he really chose his partner overall
