Let's Let's consciously acknowledge and appreciate, celebrate and say thanks for the potency, the beauty, and the necessity of short-term connections. Come from love and don't back down. ________________ I grew up in a family of privileged, racist, Southern white people who claimed to be good Christians. I love my family. They are generous and loving and well-educated. And they are fucking racist. And I have been calling them on it for years. Since the age of 11. It has taken YEARS. I have been accused of being naive, dramatic, overly sensitive, misunderstanding, and ridiculous. I speak out EVERY time any comment is made about people of color, people of different backgrounds, people of any difference at all. I will never let it slide. No jokes. No slurs. No misinformed generalizations. No hatred. No ignorance. Not on my watch. Do NOT let racism slide.
