i found out how to save and load json files using structs. will come in handy for stuff like settings but i probably wont use them for actual save data since theyre so easy to edit (theres probably other reasons too)

just for context this room is the first part of the tutorial level. i wanted to show off the rest of it but you can only upload one video per post so. i guess ill just have to wait until its actually fully done

next im gonna try to finish the pause and settings menu, and work on entering and exiting levels

i also have an itch.io page if you'd like to check that out! there's obviously no downloadable build yet, but a summary of the plot is there if you want to see. a demo will come out once i finish the tutorial, first level, and all the other essential game stuff. i expect the demo to be out by maybe january? we'll see

these are some characters i made for a deltarune fan-project me and my friends are working on

hello chat. if you didnt already know (WHICH YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE....) me and my friends have been working on a deltarune fan-project for the past few years, and i thought id share some characters i designed/made for it

this first character is probably the one im most proud of, Statteri O'Statteri

she appears in chapter 2 of our fan-project, and in the light world she’s a radio. in the dark world, she lives in the run-down subway systems of a city called Gatoshi, in the Gatoshi Underground. she was a part of a media production company, Cat Distribution and Media Co. (CD-M), hosting the talk show "Twilight Static" that aired on 97.9 Polaris FM, a radio station.

originally she was gonna be an expired ink cartridge, and her name would be Inkeri N. Keri (genius), but i didnt like it and i turned her a radio. this character is where the entire project began—Inkeri was originally just gonna be a one-off thing just for myself, but now we have an entire story going on. neat! her NEO form’s design, Statteri Amped, has gone through many, many iterations, but this is (probably) the final one.

i also made some tracks for her!! theyre a bit old so theyre not my best work but eh i think theyre okay enough

this is Empurress, she appears in ch2 as well. she's a laptop in the light world, and in the dark world, she's the leader of Gatoshi. she worked in the entertainment industry and managed statteri's shows (accidentally made her go crazy when she gave her the interview with the knight), before switching to politics.

this next one doesnt have an actual name yet, so ill just call him by his placeholder name, V.C. Rine, instead.

i designed him like a year ago and couldnt think of a good name so i just called him "vc rine" (as in rv pine bc its funny) and my friends all agreed we would all think of a better name eventually. We did not think of a better name. theres actually not much to say about him. i even asked my writer friend and she said "i havent written anything for him" so all he possesses is his name and his face. (and that cool cigarette)

there are a few more characters id like to show but this post already feels a bit long so i might just leave it at this, and ill probably make a second post sometime later for some other characters. cya ^^

hello chat. made more progress on my subtitle system. the textbox width now grows as the text is typed out! theres still a few more issues, mostly just that the word that starts a new line doesnt actually start on that new line, if that description makes sense (a bit hard to notice, but still there). ill iron it out sometime eventually (no promises).

im also working on a pause menu and a settings menu, but i havent actually made a log for those yet (theres not really much to show off). the most intimidating part of menus like that is they just have so many buttons!!! and sliders!!! am i supposed to create a new object for each individual button??? ahh!!!!!!!!

i found a menu tutorial online though so hopefully that will help :3
