In mine and many other east Asian cultures, the dragon traditionally symbolises things like power, wealth and strength (imperial symbol and all)
I think we often forget that in the story of the Great Race, the dragon came in fifth because it'd stopped to give people rain. Then it'd stopped again to push a rabbit adrift on a log across the wide river so it reached the shore safely (that's why the Rabbit year comes before the Dragon).
Dragons aren't meant to just be powerful - they are meant to do good with such power, and to help those in need.
So in this lunar new year, I hope you gain more power, so that you might be able to help others. I pray you have abundant resources so you may give to yourself and those around you. I wish you courage, endurance, kindness and generosity, for yourself and your people.
I hope you, and I, will be rain givers, life preservers, joy bringers.
I hope we will be dragons.

“In the past, they used to bury people in the foetal position, which symbolised death as homecoming, the tomb as a womb. People used to carry soil from the home inside a medallion when they travelled, and if someone died abroad, they tried to throw a handful of their native soil onto the grave. If a person made a promise, and swore on the Earth, they would not break that vow.”
— Maria Ermolenko, interviewed by Masha Borodacheva for Calvert Journal (x)

Rewatched The Good Place for the first time since s4 dropped and. Oh my god. The Good Place said “people are a result of their environment but we always have a moral responsibility to be better” and The Good Place said “every day the world gets a little more complicated and it gets a little harder to be good” and The Good Place said “even in the face of total nihilism, when nothing you do will matter, you still have to at least try. Because trying is better than the alternative” and The Good Place said “if you have bills to pay and shit to deal with you don’t have time or energy to become a better person” and then The Good Place really said “people get better when they get external love and support. How can we hold it against them when they don’t ” and THEN The Good Place really said “no one is irredeemable. Everyone can try to be better today than they were yesterday” AND THEN! The Good Place said “Heaven is just enough time with the people that you love” OH MY FUCKING GOD.

Now these next few months might be tricky, but that’s just ‘cause we’re going through our dark forest. Fairy tales do not start, nor do they end in the dark forest. That son of a gun always shows up smack-dab in the middle of a story. But it will all work out. Now, it may not work out how you think it will or how you hope it does, but believe me, it will all work out. Exactly as it’s supposed to.
