I’ve recently been having a lot of thoughts about this crossover au

Ive contemplated turning it into a soulmate au because it sounds fun and I could push for a pairing I’ve only seen once

And I thought about reversing the ages of Lucy and Tsuna because why not? Mentor Tsuna to Child Lucy sounds adorable

I can already imagine Tsuna being responsible for the “Lucy Kick”

And a child being able to withstand Tsuna’s “Reborn-Style Training” as others look on in horror is very funny

Despite the fact that the nights have gotten colder, and will most certainly only continue to get colder, Tsunayoshi doesn’t dare venture out of the forest he’s called home for the last year.

His reasons for why have little to do with fear, considering he’s only in the forest in the first place because he was chased into it. He does not fear those that hunt him, no; it’s the other people he fears. The strangers, the innocents, the ignorant. People that, once learning where he is from and who he is, will look at him with pity.

Tsuna doesn’t want the pity of people that don’t know what he’s been through. Does not want to walk down the streets hearing whispered conversations of what happened to his village- home, and how lucky he is to be alive.

He doesn’t think it’s luck. Instead, it’d probably be more fitting to call it punishment. A reminder of what he failed to do the first time and will continue to fail to do: protect his loved ones.

Ironic that the very thing which took his home away from him also gave a piece of it back to him, in a way. Cruel too. He still wonders if he should be grateful or curse it all to Hell.

The raid and subsequent burning of his village took away his family, friends, and innocence of this life. But it also dumped a lifetime of memories of another, different, past life - filled with more family, fun times, and hardships.

Truly, if anyone knew of his predicament, could he be blamed for cherishing the life of decades lived more than his measly five years here? Is it really any wonder he let go of the name Sora to be Tsunayoshi?

Oh, he still loves and holds the five years he lived close to heart. Still considers the woman who birthed and named him to be his mother, and the man who spun fantastical tales for him to be his father. Still thinks of the neighborhood children that played and laughed with him as friends. Still believes that the little village, isolated by the valley it was built on, to be his home.

But that was a life of innocence and safety- both of which were destroyed by the group of mages that sowed destruction for their own amusement. It was a life he couldn’t cling to and hope to survive.

In more plain words, he supposes that Sora Aurora died in the fire that consumed his village so that Tsunayoshi Aurora could continue to live.

Tsunayoshi for his first life, proof of what he’s capable of being and doing. Aurora for his second life, to honor the people that raised and loved him. Both names joined together as a reminder of what he’s been through and lost along the way.

He doesn’t want to forget the people that died where he survived. Doesn’t want to forget the sacrifices that were made for his benefit. Sacrifices that never should have been made in the first place. Not for someone like him. Not when he should have been stronger, faster, better.

Not when he should have died right alongside them.

One my favorite things to see in shows and stories is the misinterpretation of expressions/feelings between characters

Person A is caught in a Situation and their expression is blank because they’re honestly feeling bored about everything that’s happening

Person B watching them: Oh god, they’re so scared they’ve completely shut down!
