How to Make a Flower Crown!

I made myself a flower crown today and I wanted to share it with you all. Flower Crowns are really awesome, and everyone deserves one.
I used the Weaving method, detailed below in the link provided! Here's a visual guide as well, if you're a visual learner like myself.

It’s never a bad idea to drop a crystal in your bag when you’re headed out the door for a weekend trip, or to bring along a little bottle of Lavender. As requested, here are my favorite little simple spells for the traveling witches.
Oils for safe travels
If you’re going to take one single oil with you, take a good bottle of lavender. I know there are a lot of fragrance oils out there, and I use those too. But for magical purposes get yourself a good lavender one. (And I’m not talking about any MLM’s here) A few drops of lavender on vacation can reduce stress, bring about a calmness in everyone, and most of all provide protection for yourself (or your fam) while you are away.
I have also used Sandalwood oil in the past but I haven’t used it in a long time because it’s getting harder to come by and it’s a more pungent and noticeable smell then Lavender. But Sandalwood works well too.
Crystals to take in your suitcases
If oils aren’t your thing you can always carry crystals in your bag. Your basic black protection crystals stored in a cloth bag in your suitcase will ward away any negativity or bad vibe trying to follow you on this trip. Try Black Obsidian or a Smoky Quartz. Pair them together, or with a Rose Quartz to promote love and harmony on your trip.
My favorite traveling sachet spell
My one go-to spell for traveling has always been this super easy sachet you can put together with three simple ingredients.
You will need:
One Green Aventurine
Irish Moss
A little drawstring bag. I like to use a gold cloth bag but use whatever you have honestly it doesn’t matter.
Irish Moss is a little shrub or plant that’s also called Sagina Subulata. It’s usually used in luck or money spells but I’ve always only used it for traveling.
Simply take your Aventurine and Irish moss and place it in your drawstring bag. (Make sure you have cleansed your crystal first.) Hold your sachet in your hand imagining a light of protection washing over you or your traveler. Now place it in either your purse or carry on and take with you on the trip.

Organization feels so good...
I bought myself some new goodies to better organize my area. The little desktop shelf is a huge game changer. The cute, 4oz jam jars were an awesome find. They work great for herbs and other materials as well as anything I create, like salves and washes. Plus I got a fox and moon wax seal with lots of wax pellets. I’m still waiting on my order of more crystal chips, but those should arrive in a couple of days. It feels so nice to be organized. 😊

Full moon....
To me, any full moon is a time of renewal and new beginnings. Time of cleansing. So, I had a small fire in my backyard with my little family. My kids loved it. My crystals are also enjoying night number 2 of their charging and I’m making my moon water tonight.

When a deity comes calling...
When I first set out on my witchy journey, I never really had any intention of following any deity. Just didn’t feel it was something I had to do. I’ve always had an interest in Greek and Norse mythology, though. I thought to myself, “ya know, if I do decide to follow a deity, Artemis is pretty cool.”
Fast forward a little and I found myself looking at lists of deities from more than just Greek and Norse beliefs. I saw Artemis on the list, but felt just kinda “meh” upon seeing her name. So I kept scrolling through the list. Then I saw Bastet(Bast). He name jumped out at me. Mind you, I’m still pretty ignorant of Egyptian Gods and Goddesses. So, imagine my surprise when her name, and hers alone jumped out at me.
I waited a day or 2 and then started intently researching Bastet and her history. I felt she really vibed with me, but I didn’t start any worshipping or anything. And still haven’t. My plan has been to wait until I do more research and gain more witchy experience before I dare call on any deity. Bastet, on the other hand, seems to be wanting to kindly remind me to not forget her along the way.
It’s started with my cat suddenly being more up my butt than usual. Then he’s taken a huge interest in my altar space. (All herbs are well out of his reach or are in sealed jars for his safety). Now, my altar used to be my mother’s vanity table that she had for over 50 years and I have had it for the past 5 years. In the past 5 years of me owning the vanity table, my cat, Hemi, has never shown any interest in the table. Since I’ve felt the calling to Bastet, Hemi has been increasingly more interested in the whole area around the table. He’s even started sleeping on the bench I use. Last night I caught him just sitting on my altar and staring off at I don’t know what. Here’s him chilling on the bench.

Hemi taking interest in my altar isn’t the only sign I’ve received from Bastet. She’s sent me a cat as a reminder. My neighborhood has a handful of cats that just roam around. It’s always the same cats, a couple orange tabbies and a couple black cats. A few days ago, I got quite a shock. I looked out my back door, and there sitting beautifully on the edge of my fire ring, was a stunning calico cat. Mind you, my backyard is completely fenced in with 6ft tall vinyl privacy fence. So, imagine my shock when I see a cat in my backyard. This cat I had never seen before in the year and a half of living in this house. She sat so beautifully on the edge of my fire ring staring right into my back door. We stared at each other for several minutes, then she took off when my dog noticed her and barked. I haven’t seen that cat since then.
I’d like to think Bastet has made it quite clear that she would like to work with me. I just hope she understands that I’d like to feel more prepared before I call on her. 🐈⬛
Thanks for reading.

Someone once told me that I was a collector of energy. That I walked around picking up everyone else’s shit garbage vibes and let it effect me. And afterwards I would need so much time to decompress from even the smallest ‘peopley’ interaction. I would lay in bed and not want to get up for dayyyyyys. Of course I had to. I had to work and do all the things. But it was so overwhelming and exhausting that sometimes I felt myself dragging through the minutes just waiting to get back home.
Then someone told me I was a collector of energy and that I needed to be a curator instead. Keep the good things, the positive feelings and interactions but trash the rest.
That small tiny crumb of advice changed my life. Shitty things will always happen and there’s nothing you can do to change that. But don’t collect other people’s shit energy. Don’t bring it into you space and most importantly don’t let it effect you.

Another addition to my altar is done...
A little work with Procreate on my iPad, some printing, tracing with carbon paper, then tracing again with my wood burner, I’ve completed a pretty little center piece/workspace for my altar. I love wood burning. It smells so good. ☺️
I’ll probably end up sealing this tomorrow just to help keep it cleaner and protected. More than likely I will not stain it because I like that color it is.

Was feeling crafty again...
I had seen pictures of witch’s spoons online and thought they were a really cute idea. But most looked so similar. So, I pulled out my polymer clay and set to work on an older sugar spoon I had in the back of a drawer in my kitchen. I’ve never been great at sculpting, but I think it turned out cute and it’s personalized for me. 🙂

For the crystal, I used a piece of fluorite.

Witchcraft on a budget

See all of those goodies? I paid under $20(USD) on those from Dollar General. Yes, that salt lamp is really from Pakistan. The jars with the chalkboard label are too cute. They are also airtight, so they’re great for storing salt and ash that you want to keep moisture out of.

🌙⭐️
See these adorable tiny jars? $1 per pack at Dollar Tree.

You don’t have to spend a ton of money to practice witchcraft. I also got a pack of tea light candles, 2 packs of tall red candles, 2 tall prayer candles, and jute string from the Dollar Tree.
Don’t be afraid of going to thrift stores, too. If you do t like the energy and item is giving off, don’t buy it. But you can find so many great deals at thrift stores.
🌙⭐️
When it came to resourcing some of my other tools, I turned to Etsy and I happened to get lucky with having already owned some items.
My mortar and pestle was bought from https://etsy.me/2YLrorB. The prices are great and the service even better.

🌙⭐️
As for my cauldron, I actually found it amongst the masses of hoarded stuff in my grandmother’s house. I found it years ago, well before I started my witchy journey. It’s not huge, but I don’t really need anything bigger than this.

🌙⭐️
To store some plants and herbs, I’m reusing glass jars from store bought herbs and spices.

Don’t be afraid to bargain hunt and be thrifty. Get creative and be resourceful. Your tools don’t need to be fancy. ❤️
Thanks for reading.

When your cat is an asshole...
You have to get creative... my cat, Hemi, is an asshole. I can have no plant life in my home (other than succulents and cacti) because the little jerk steals and eats them! Knowing this, I knew I would struggle to find somewhere I could safely dry my plants and herbs.
While looking for something completely unrelated, I found some stuff to set myself up with a little hanging line for herbs. So far, it’s working remarkably well. It may not be the prettiest set up, but you gotta do what you gotta do to keep your asshole cat from killing himself by eating all my plants. 😅

Here’s a pic of the asshole for you all.

I made a couple things...
So, I needed some places to safely store some of my witchy stuff away. I had some craft boxes laying around, so I got to making a tarot deck box and a crystal box for myself. It took my several hours and many mistakes, but I’m pleased with how they turned out. The larger box is definitely my favorite.
The crystal box (the larger box) I decided to hand paint with the symbols for Capricorn on the sides and the Wheel of the Year on the lid. Both boxes I lined myself. I chose blue because it’s the color for Capricorn )and it happens to be my favorite color).

Setting out to find my path...

Becoming Pagan and practicing witchcraft is not really something I saw myself doing when I was younger. I grew up in a rather religious, Christian household where it was forced for us kids to attend church every Sunday. As I got older, I started pulling further and further away from Christianity as I started to see the darkness of the religion and personal life events erased my belief in God.
Growing up, I played outside all the time; playing in the mud and making “potions” with random leaves and flowers. We went camping A LOT when I was a kid. I’d catch all kinds of critters from snakes, to frogs, lizards and insects. The mountains, forests and oceans; I’ve always loved nature and her beauty. A neat little thing I could always do was sense spirits. I cannot communicate with them (or at least I’ve never made any real attempts), but I’ve had a few experiences with them. *I’ll save those stories for another post*
Now that you have some info about me, let’s move onto what turned me to Paganism and witchcraft. It started with television. I started watching American Horror Story: Coven with my fiancé and I had watched a show about the Salem Witch Trials and I got curious. I wanted to know what Paganism, Wicca and witchcraft really were. So I dove into reading and learning. The values and beliefs align with mine and looking back through my life, I truly felt this is the path I was intended to take.
I am a just a baby yet, still trying to learn my way, but feel free to follow along on my journey. I will post about my experiences, things I do, things I make, and maybe even some memes here and there. Just be warned: I normally swear a lot. If you don’t like swearing, this will not be the blog for you.
Thanks for reading.
