the houses
so when i first started learning about astrology, i found it super difficult to keep track of what each of the houses means. understanding the house system is a huge aspect of understanding your natal chart, so let’s discuss.
angular houses:
ruled by the cardinal signs, these houses indicate the action you take in life - the first foot you put forward.
1st house - aries - appearance, outward personality, self expression, essential vitality, “mask”
4th house - cancer - home, family life and parents, emotional/psychological foundation, stability, subconscious patterns
7th house - libra - partnerships and relationships, marriage, business interactions, interpersonal conflict or harmony, legal matters
10th house - capricorn - career ambitions and aspirations, public life and recognition, material acquisition, success and goals
succedent houses:
these houses are ruled by the fixed signs, speaking to what you already have, and what you desire to have - what you value.

11th house - aquarius - global awareness, humanitarian ideals, group projects and goals, friendships
cadent houses:
ruled by the mutable signs, these houses can be interpreted as the thought that occurs before action - the analyzation of your self and surroundings.

6th house - virgo - afflictions of the body, health and nutrition, employment, work ethic, injury and illness, service

a list of [just a few] different types of astrology
Astrocartography – The astrology of place. It examines how people respond to the various energies available to them across the globe. Astrologers that practice this type of astrology help others find spots where they can better engage with specific themes in their lives by examining a special type of astrological map.
Chinese Astrology – A group of traditions that arose independent of those in the west with their own mythos, techniques, and philosophy that bloomed throughout the long history of Chinese cultures.
Cosmobiology – A school of astrology credited with popularization by German astrologer Reinhold Ebertin that is related to the Hamburg School of Astrology. There is a primary emphasis on mid-points and 8th Harmonic aspects, and the significant expansion of medical astrological principals.
Egyptian Astrology – A retrospective school of astrology that uses the rich Egyptian mythos to examine Zodiacal relationships. This should not be confused with the type of astrology practiced in ancient Egypt from roughly 2000BC-100BC that served as a foundational precursor to the Hellenistic tradition, since the concept of the Zodiac was developed elsewhere.
Electional Astrology – Also known as Inceptional Astrology, this branch of the tradition is focused on finding the best time to start new projects so that they meet with the greatest success and abundance.
Esoteric Astrology – The types of astrology that examine spiritual principals and seek to build corpus knowledge of esoteric ideologies by examining the mundane motion of the planets and stars as well as their hidden relationships.
Evolutionary Astrology – Astrology that focuses on the supposed evolutionary path of the soul. It is used to foster individual growth and spiritual expansion in accordance with many new age principals.
Financial Astrology – Astrology that examines financial markets and their timing according to transits in order to forecast market changes. This branch of astrology also examines natal potential for money making, as well as uses astrology as a tool for discourse about global economic trends.
Hellenistic Astrology – The type of astrology practiced in the Mediterranean from roughly 100BC to 600BC that reached its height during the Roman Empire. It is the first western system to incorporate the 4 fold system of astrology that became the foundation of all later practices.
Horary Astrology – Divinatory astrology that examines the moment in which a question is understood by an astrologer in order to find an answer for the querent.
Jyotish – Commonly conflated with Vedic Astrology, Jyotish is the main form of astrology practiced in the Indian subcontinent in the modern era. It represents a hybrid of indigenous Indian astrology with Hellenistic techniques. This type of astrology is sidereal, or constellation based.
Magi Astrology – A secretive form of astrology that examines relationships and their timing according to a different set of astrological standards.
Mayan Astrology – The tradition of astrology practiced in the Mayan culture that arose independently of western influence and ideology.
Medical Astrology – Astrology that examines the relationship of the human body with the alignment of the cosmos. Used to forecast and diagnose predispositions to certain health issues, as well as provide recommendations for greater over all health and wellness according to the natal potential.
Modern Astrology – The various forms of astrology that have been practiced since its revival in the late 1800’s. There has been a marked increase in the importance placed on the Sun sign, and a focus on the psychological potentials indicated by the natal chart.
Mundane Astrology – The astrology of large groups of people and their interactions. Transits are examined in order to explain and forecast global trends and events.
Natal Astrology – Astrology centered on the natal chart of individuals. In the modern era this is the most widely used form of astrology.
Psychological Astrology – The examination of the natal chart as a set of psychological predispositions. Based on this foundational premise the astrologer can help guide and counsel the native with traditional psychological techniques.
Rectification – An extraordinarily advanced astrological technique that examines the events of a native’s life and works backward in order to produce a time of birth for those that do not possess it. A time consuming and expensive process that is a necessary precursor for all advanced forms of astrological work.
Relocational Astrology – The supposition that natal capabilities are amenable to the influences of locality. Examines the shift of potential that a native faces when living in different areas.
Synastry – The astrology of relationships. Two charts are examined concurrently in order to reveal themes and potentials that may be present as the relationship progresses.
Traditional Astrology – The various forms and traditions of astrology that were practiced during the almost 3000 years of its history prior to astrology’s revival in the late 1800’s. There is a marked focus on mundane astrology and examining the lives of natives from a deterministic standpoint.
Transit Astrology – The examination of the current or future positions of the planets in relation to a natal chart order to see the themes that are currently active in a native’s life, as well as forecast future trends and events.
Uranian Astrology – Another branch that is related to the Hamburg School of Astrology that focuses on midpoints and uses theoretical planets as part of it’s arsenal of techniques. It is sometimes said to be the true successor of the Hamburg legacy.
Vedic Astrology – The indigenous forms of astrology of the Indian subcontinent that arose independent of those of the west. There is a distinct lunar focus (as there are with many of the oldest forms of astrology). This system was eventually merged with ancient Hellenistic techniques in order to form what is now known as Jyotish.
Vocational Astrology – A specialized form of astrology that examines the inherent potential within a natal chart in order to recommend potential career paths for a native and help them navigate their professional life.
Weather Forecasting Astrology – The type of astrology that is most popularly used in almanacs. More advanced techniques and philosophies in use by astrologers range from every day forecasting to major climate prediction.

universal year 5 & personal year for 2021
(in numerology)
“let’s take 5”
find your personal year by calculating your birthday & the year in question (2020) and simplifying to a single digit
ex: birthdate: 02/26/1994. their personal year number is calculated as so -
2 + 26 + 2021 = 2049
2 + 0 + 4 + 9 = 15 // 1 + 5 = 6
it is a personal 6 year for them
*i will be making references to last year’s post
personal year 1: i guess your instincts are coming full force now after 2020′s turning of the tides and you’re up for whatever challenge is thrown your way along this change of pace. this is an “i can be anything, watch me!” type of year where you’re trying your hand at a persona that is not a typical one for you. be careful of totally stepping out of your character and behaving callous though because it’s easy for you to be defensive during this time of perceiving life as a challenge that must be conquered. you can secure positive achievements this year but don’t let yourself ruin it with a ‘winner’ mentality getting the better of you because you could take it too far.
personal year 11/2: for the past year you’ve been having to simplify your load and now you are entering the stage of feeling light enough to say “who the hell cares!” sometimes when we reach a certain level in life we can feel like we’re untouchable because we’ve gone through this and that and came out on the other side but you have to try to make sure that you are balancing being considerate and being your own individual - though you may want to believe you’re invincible, there can be other people who rightfully say/prove otherwise and there can be people who care for you that want to look out for you. this year is reminiscent of the whole plot of ~becoming powerful/famous and forgetting how you got there~
personal year 3: boy i bet you sure did learn about boundaries and your dynamics with others in 2020, hopefully you were able to listen to the feedback with the intention of being receptive to it. there is a clearer understanding of how to share yourself with others so the way you express yourself this year has a way of being distinct because there is now an absoluteness to it; if you weren’t receptive to the feedback in 2020 though then it’s likely that this time will involve you being distinct in a not so positive way. this is an eclectic yet specific time, like you can try your hand at something new or even something you haven’t picked up in a while but you’re able to have better focus to put your energy towards it and have it hit a core point.
personal year 4/22: well, if you’re ever wanting to look back on a year to understand your patterns of behavior better i’m sure 2020 will be a year that comes to mind, and if not then it could be down the road. the involvement of others was persistent and needed to help you answer the questions of what matters to you because this year you’ll be able to pursue what that is - though it may not take flight as much as you would like for it to it’s still a move in the right direction. if you haven’t acknowledged or tried to be more conscientious of your behaviors then this year can have moments of density, appearing as though you aren’t thinking or haven’t thought things through so try to be as mindful as you can. perhaps both can be the case though, maybe you do make a move in the right direction but because it wasn’t thorough it falls flat - don’t feel like you’re totally back at square one in any case! you made progress!
personal year 5: caught up in life now? i think so! geez, where do you go from here with this new understanding of your place in the grand scheme of things? are you going to own it or are you going to let it own you? if you’re able to own it then you’ll be surprised at what you’re able to attract at this time but if you let matters get the best of you then…well, carelessness ensues. it’s important that you consider the sake of security that you were met with in 2020 because considering stability AND practicing a healthy assurance in who you are and who you want to be are how you will be able to own it. if you’re going to take a chance then make sure it is coming from a place of wholeheartedness.
personal year 6: did 2020 feel like it flashed before your eyes? one second life was like this and the next it’s something entirely different (covid aside!). now what you have been working towards begins to find it’s pay off and/or the reward/recognition of your efforts change - they may be magnified in both a positive and negative light, perhaps it could be in part that your efforts are reaching a close on an endeavor/project/job. romance is also a peculiar highlight for you because there’s something veritable about it - maybe this year if you’re in a relationship it begins to feel very real or you have a newfound appreciation for it, if you’re single you may find someone who is more down to earth or someone whose lifestyle is starkly different from yours.
personal year 7: i hope you have had that conversation with expectations that i mentioned in 2020′s post because this year you’re entering a time of maturing and there is no room for dishonesty - “the truth will set you free”. it seems like in some ways this year will be a continuation of last year in the sense that you will still be reaching critical points and milestones BUT this time you are able to feel the weights lifted in doing so. if you haven’t had that conversation with expectations then i imagine this year could have a fall from grace but even in that event it would still be you learning that you are not a machine and that’s okay. in any way, shape or form, this is a humanizing year and you could share truths or have actual conversations that you would have never thought imaginable but they’re such a relief - i keep imaging letting out a big deep breath.
personal year 8: how was the turning point of 2020 for you? has life begin to make more sense? have you caught on to what you missed in the past? i’m genuinely wondering wtf y’all are doing. this year your self expression is renewed and your recreational activities are in for a change - maybe you have less time for them, maybe you have more time for them, maybe you find another thing to do in your free time, maybe whatever hobby you have evolves or becomes something different, etc. there’s been a lack in the past, some thing(s) that you didn’t pay heed to, it’s like you’ve been having a midlife crisis and now that these repressed parts have been acted on or confronted you’re understanding what is and isn’t you anymore. this year it will be easier to express your discontent in a more vulnerable way and now that you know what isn’t jiving with you anymore, you can feel out what does.
personal year 9: when one door closes another does open buuut this should be treated with the utmost care. for the past year you’ve been called out in a new way and have had to come to terms with the behaviors that you’re plagued by so that you can adjust them accordingly. now that you have embraced certain traits more, be careful of confusing awareness with resolve, just because you are more conscientious of something doesn’t mean that the continuous effort that comes with it is magically gone. this year is a shaky ‘fresh start’ because although there is that awareness now and new recourses are being presented, not everything has been dealt with and properly addressed so that it truly is a clean slate.

Harmonic charts
It’s an under-researched area, especially in numbers above 9, so sometimes the interpretations don’t fit with ongoing experience from a wider spectrum of charts – there is latitude for original thinking. And like all of astrology there’s usually a plus and a minus side. The 5th Harmonic can lead to a productive career where disparate elements are pulled together to create a successful lifestyle; or it can turn into a control-freaky desire to impose an individual’s worldview on others. 9H can be humanitarian and community-minded or a financial con-artist.
As more is learned it becomes clear there is a reasonable similarity between numerology interpretations and harmonics. And Vendla, who is a serious and skilled numerologist, drew me up a list up to 22, which does usually check out against the examples which crop up here.  Though these can be amplified from Hamblin and Harding/Harvey’s writings (Below).
Interpreting the harmonic chart is a question of seeing which planets are drawn into aspect (tight orbs of only 2/3 degrees) in that harmonic, which aren’t in aspect in the natal chart. So it gives a deeper dimension of meaning when the natal chart isn’t giving you a full reflection of the life and talents. I tend to look for configurations in the Harmonic chart e.g. Grand Trines, Grand Crosses, T Squares, which marks them out as a strong influence in that individual’s life.
1: The pioneer; Originality, innovation, ambition, determination. Also loneliness, egotistical, vain, dominating.
2: Cooperation, sensitivity, kindness, harmony. An entertainer at heart or at least artistically oriented (painting, music, writing). Also: Irresolute, deceitful, gossiping.
3: Charm, ambition, determination, artistic and verbal skills. Also cold, can be deceitful.
4: A fated number. Forever contradicting and in opposition to authorities. May have to start over and over again. Practical skills, organisation, strength, courage and perseverance. Also: Intolerance, dogmatism, ruthlessness.
5: Always on-the-go. Inventive, freedom-lover, fast-thinking, “sexy”. Also: Lack of concentration, irresponsibility, sensationalistic, self-indulgent, deceitful, “the player”.
6: “The Cancer number”; Sweetness, parenting, protecting home and family. The flipside is conventionality, stubbornness, unyielding, want of domination.
7: Seven is traditionally regarded as a spiritual number, endowed with a different kind of imagination, often artistic skills. Need peace. Perfectionism. A seeking soul. Also: too sceptical, too critical, sarcastic, cold, self-centred, attracted to alcohol/ drugs and occultism.
8: A fated number. “Karmic debt”. Soul wounds, bad luck or loss may follow this number, which also gives an abundance of strength and stubbornness in the face of difficulties. The road to success is often bumpy and hard, and if it comes easy, or at all, it will not necessarily bring happiness.
9: Strength, determination, the humanitarian. A philanthropic or artistic attitude to life is required, because if lacking, the number will “fail” to work constructively and could bring forward aspects such as frivolousness, immorality and irresponsibility.

love number
How to calculate it?
add up your month of birth and the day
for example:
someone born on march 7th
3(march)+7=10=1+0=1
their love number is 1.
Love Number 1: People who are patronized by a unit are usually difficult to cope with monogamy. During their life they had a sufficient number of connections, and they did not stay with a specific person for a long time. They possess innate sexuality and attractiveness. They see in sex only the free expression of their sexuality, and do not imply equal treatment in marriage. However, such people receive recognition and authority in the family, and also become excellent parents.
Love Number 2: People who are patronized by this number put family well-being and measured home life first. Sex life is less important to them than communication, mutual respect and love. Devoted and caring, they require the same consistency from their partner. Feeling love and constancy, they are calm and happy. But as soon as doubts about the loyalty of a partner creep into their heads, the “two” change dramatically, showing strong jealousy, which can lead to extreme measures in order to preserve the family.
Love Number 3: People under the sign of the three are weak to the charm and sexual energy of the opposite sex, and attract just such a type. However, this is not enough to create a strong relationship, because they are interested in the psychology of the human soul. The illusions of youth regarding marriage with age are broken into stone. When the romance of the first months is replaced by monotonous life, they will be disappointed. For a strong alliance with the Three, it is important to have common hobbies or joint activities.
Love Number 4: People who are patronized by the number 4, closed and uncommunicative. They honor more than any other family ties and the harmony of sex life. From them breathes the aura of sexuality. However, they are not interested in sex without commitment, they need a normal long-term relationship. Marriage and the appearance of children are taken very seriously and responsibly.
Love Number 5: Those born under the sign of the five prefer plenty to enjoy life and try different partners before settling down. Sex for them is a wide field for experiments, and they expect the same return from partners. Their marriage will largely depend on this - dedication and the desire to learn new things play an important role in choosing a life partner.
Love Number 6: People with this number usually enjoy love with everyone: the opposite sex, co-workers, friends, relatives. When choosing a partner, first of all, pay attention to the financial situation, and then to everything else. Restrained expression of feelings leads to misunderstandings with the second half, so they should more actively show their affection.
Love Number 7: It’s hard to maintain relationships with people under this sign, especially if the partner is the exact opposite. They are faithful and obligatory to their chosen one, they support the home, they are responsible, hardworking, they value common interests with the other half.
Love Number 8: People under the number 8 are not suitable early marriage. At this time, they are completely absorbed in their careers and hobbies, and spend little time on their relatives, which leads to constant quarrels. At a more mature age, they develop stability and are ready to devote themselves to family ties. They are faithful to their spouses, but at any age they may prefer working for a family.
Love Number 9: The love of the representatives of this figure is always in the first place. They easily give in to impulses of passion and sincerely wish to be loved. For the sake of romance, they are able to move mountains and prove their feelings. Quickly lose interest in the person, if that does not give in to their charm. In marriage, these people should constantly see signs of attention from their partner, otherwise they might think that they are not loved enough and look for something else.

personality number
what is it?
The characteristic traits and qualities that make you who you are, when relating to other people in the world. As such, it often uncannily describes the personal style and preferred dress of the individual.
Interestingly some modern Numerologists call this number the “Quiet Self”. They use it not as a marker of outward behavior, but as an indicator of what an individual dreams of doing in the outer world.
how to calculate it?
Add together the numerological values of all the consonants in your full birth name. Then keep summing until you reach a single digit (or Master Number).
Remember that this number cannot come from your nickname or your married name, but must be the name that is found written in full on your birth certificate, (that’s first name, middle name/s, and surname/s) and if your name is misspelled on your birth certificate, use that to configure your Personality number.
Tumblr media
personality number 1- Having the Personality number 1, you dream of being a pioneer for mankind: an original, daring trendsetter who is strongly individual. As the number 1 represents ego and self-realization, you see yourself as forceful and effective in obtaining what others can’t even see. You want always to be first and best, and for others to be in awe of your abilities and accomplishments. Most of all, you always want to feel that you are in control.
personality number 2- Having the Personality number 2, you dream of an idyllic life where you are surrounded by those who love and need you, where all is peaceful and harmonious, where the mundane cares of the world are far away, and all basic needs are magically supplied. You envision yourself as a most sensitive person who can supply everyone’s emotional needs while resting in a cradle of security yourself. You are patient, understanding, loving and loved.
personality number 3- Having the Personality number 3, you dream of being a very popular person: magnetically attractive, and even a sex symbol. You are the actor on center stage, the movie star, the life of the party, charming everyone with your wit. Since you are conscious of the image you project, only the latest and best in fashion will do. You may dream of the jet-set life or another glamorous lifestyle in which you are the star.
personality number 4- Having the Personality number 4, you dream of being a strong, down-to-earth sort of person who is the most necessary part of the lives of your family and friends. You see yourself as a dependable soul who can always be counted upon to do what is required. You have planned for everything that could go wrong, and are well prepared for the future. You use your past experience to your advantage, and can handle any obstacle that threatens your domain.
personality number 5- Having the Personality number 5, you envision yourself as the world traveler, living a life of variety and adventure, free from mundane cares and responsibilities. Wanting to experience as much as possible, you seek pleasure and want never to be bored. You are the gambler who thrives on challenge and the unexpected, and in your dreams, every day brings surprise and excitement. A lover of crowds and happenings, you embrace life enthusiastically

Arabic Parts: The Marriage Partner
Arabic parts are used in horary to check relationship indicators, but most widely used in the natal chart. The most common Arabic Part is the
Part of Fortune (Asc + Moon – Sun)
which has little to do with fortune and everything to do with events outside of our control. It is also a very secondary point in horary. So how are Arabic Parts calculated and what can they tell us?
The easiest way to calculate Arabic Parts is to find software that will do the work for you. I looked. The one calculator I used to use is now pay only. I say used to because once you get the hang of calculating, it’s not too hard to do with some scratch paper.
To calculate the qualities of the partner you will marry, you take the degree of the ascendant and add it to the descendant, then subtract the degree of the ruler of the 7th house. The equation looks like this:
Part of Marriage Partner = Asc + Desc - 7th House Ruler
So how do we convert into simple degrees? By using this table:
Aries = 0 Taurus = 30 Gemini = 60 Cancer = 90 Leo = 120 Virgo = 150 Libra = 180 Scorpio = 210 Sagittarius = 240 Capricorn = 270 Aquarius = 300 Pisces = 330 Now we plug in the numbers. An ascendant at 4 degrees Capricorn (274) has a descendant at 4 degrees Cancer (94) which when added up, equals 368 degrees. Subtract the ruler of the 7th house (the moon) located at 27 degrees Capricorn (297) and we get this equation: 368 - 297 =  71  [11 Gemini]
Now look at where your answer lies in your chart. The house location will tell you about your partner and how they show love as well as some innate qualities about them. The sign will tell you about the qualities your relationship values and what you will find attractive about them.
The partner is
1st house:  driven, direct, passionate, possessive 2nd house: materially conscious, a provider, sensual 3rd house: talkative, changeable, social 4th house: emotional, reflective, dependent, nurturing 5th house: fun, pleasure-focused, romantic 6th house: stable, service-oriented, a hard worker 7th house: social, attractive, outgoing and partner-minded 8th house: mysterious, intense, domineering 9th house: adventurous, philosophic, expansive 10th house: career-focused, status-conscious, authoritative, protective 11th house: unique, friendly, social, humanitarian 12th house: connected, spiritual, sacrificing, sensitive Your relationship values
Aries: honesty, passion, spontaneity, progressing Taurus: physical enjoyment, comfort, luxury, attaining security Gemini: socializing, talking, intellectualizing, learning Cancer: emotional vulnerability, family, making a home Leo: fun, romance, sex, children, creativity Virgo: stability, acts of service, thoughtfulness, projects Libra: partnership, success, attraction, social connections Scorpio: catharsis, power, deep bonds, transformation Sagittarius: exploration, learning, growth, travelling Capricorn: tradition, hierarchy, duty, achieving status Aquarius: innovation, unconventionality, equality, freedom Pisces: unconditional love, connection, spirituality, oneness

The Midheaven in your Solar Return
Every year on your birthday your sun returns to the same location as your natal birth chart. On that day, the sky will tell you about your upcoming year. Reading a natal solar return chart is challenging because many sources disagree upon the meaning. A good rule of thumb is to always refer back to the sign and condition of the house and ruling planet of your natal chart. What is their condition? How does their energy function for you?
In previous posts I have written a lot about the ascendant of the solar return. This post assumes you have done that work, and want a bit more detail. Here, I focus on the location of the midheaven (MC) as it lands in your natal chart. This placement is indicative of your public affairs for the year.
Solar Return MC in your Natal Chart
1st House: When your solar return MC lands in your natal first house, this is often a year that you are able to influence your destiny. Achievement and income come easily to you in this year with little work. It is a very auspicious placement for the upcoming year.
2nd House: Income is higher or lower than usual depending on the dignity of the house. Examine your finances carefully.
3rd House: This is a year that will bring much travel and/or writing. Proposals are likely to be accepted and you are likely to benefit from your associates regardless of your occupation.
4th House: Land becomes an issue and indicate inheritance of land or issues with neighbors or housing in general. Afflictions can indicate losing one’s home.
5th House: A good connection to the arts, leisure, and pleasure in general. An affair can elevate one’s standing. However, too many malefic planets can indicate a dissolution of hopes and dreams.
6th House: You may find yourself in a position of dependence or subordination either through workload or an overbearing boss. You may feel trapped in an untenable situation. Can sometimes indicate health issues which impact your career.
7th House: Promotion through partnership or business contract. If afflicted can indicate the dissolution of partnership. It frequently indicates an emphasis on your partner’s dealings and actions.
8th House: Indicates financial returns, inheritances or the settling of debts. Affliction may indicate an increase of debt. Sometimes indicates repercussions of a death in the family or business.
9th House: Traveling for work, or learning for work. Can indicate learning a foreign language for work or success overseas. Emphasis on growing one’s reach.
10th House: The closer the solar and natal angles align, the more likely success is indicated in the year. The effect becomes less pronounced the further away it moves.
11th House: Partially dependent on networking. Oftentimes this placement indicates a year of planning and working towards future achievements.
12th House: Can indicate ordeals with work and career in general. You may find yourself discontented and struggle to maintain your job as a consequence. Can sometimes indicate sabotage in the workplace.

Moon in the houses pt.2  🌙
Moon in VII: A moon in the VII is a placement that indicates someone who is utterly introvert when it comes to relations. His or hers relations with friends, or the spouse becomes significant after some time, when the level of security within the two people is high. Someone who is born under this aspect maybe will have to encounter some difficulties in life, such as teaching to others, particularly if in the natal chart Leo is prominent. With the moon in the 7th house, you hate attention-seekers and you hate to be the one under attention. You don’t want to be under the spotlight, but in this life this is your lesson: you have to learn that sometimes you have a lot to give, and maybe if the people want to listen to you, you have some important things you know that you left for granted.
In a previous life, you were persecuted for the things you thought. This is why, in this life you are so introvert and you don’t let others to sway you.
Moon in the VIII: The eight house is the house of the inheritance, death and sex. Death, like I said in the previous post, it doesn’t refer about he actual physical death, but the spiritual regeneration, the art of transforming things. With the moon here, we need to focus on the topic of love (moon) and sex (eight house). Expressing love in a non sexual way, with this placement is hard. That doesn’t mean they don’t feel love at all, but they think that sex is the main thing and the love is something that is added to sex to make it more passionate, when in reality it is just contrary, love is the main thing and then it comes sex. You need to focus more on the spiritual love than the fleshy one or you will never experience what the “true love” means. In the previous life you cared too much about the sexuality that you forgot what it feels to love and be loved in return. You need to separate those two things if you want to be emotionally balanced.
Moon in the XI: In a previous life you fought hard for the children’s rights and in this life you’ll probably be rewarded with some travels. You don’t have a big karmic debt, the only thing you have to remember is to not be guided only by your sense of exploring but to be focused on you personal ideals and love life too.
Moon in the X: In this life you are focused on discovering continuously your talents and qualities, and this causes some discomfort in your career. You will probably change job a lot of times and this will cause a lot of anxiety. Why will you do that? Because it is said that someone with the moon in this house in a previous life identified himself with his profession and he or she caused big problems to others due to his restless personality. I think that if you have this placement you have to learn that you’re not the job you do. Your persona and your emotions doesn’t depend on that. You decided in your previous life this particular placement for this reason, because you have to learn that your psyche is separated from you status. It’s not that if you will be rich you will be happy, or that if you find that perfect job you will be satisfied, because it simply won’t.
Moon in the XI: So, the 11th house is the house of friends, but of the enemies too. In your early life you’ll probably meet some adult female figures that caused you hostility because of a karmic debt that was going on in the previous life. In fact, is probable that your mother in this life, was your enemy in the past life because both of you wanted to conquer the love of a third person, that in this life it will be maybe your brother or your father (this sounds strange, but karmic astrology is all about that) in psychology this is called the Electra complex. This placement relates to this unresolved hostility, that you need to let go of.
Moon in the XII: If you have the moon in the 12th house, you were probably a female in your past life since the 12th house rules the previous incarnation and the moon is a feminine planet. If your moon is afflicted, your subconscious probably suffered a lot. Karmic debt is similar to the Sun in the same house.

Moon in the houses 🌙
Moon in I: The moon in the 1st house usually symbolizes someone who is loving and emotionally restless. Similar to cancer rising, but more pronounced. If you have this placement you’ll usually encounter the feeling of “constantly left behind”, of being sensitive and fragile in front of the others. In karmic astrology this placement means that in your previous life, you were a confident individual and that you used your power to manipulate others. In this life, your karmic debt is the feeling of impotency towards others. That doesn’t mean that others won’t listen to you, but that you self is more emotionally weak and in this life it needs to stabilize in order to gain more strength in a positive way.
Moon in II: In the house of values and affection, the moon indicates someone who loves to chase the unreachable. If you have this placement, probably you’ll think you’re a constant lover, that your values are something you are proud of (especially material objects)… but, this is your mind tricking on you (probably) if you’ve noticed, you always want something but when you finally have it, you don’t want it no more. The same happens with lovers. You are so jealous, loving, but when you have your lover in your arms you start to take it for granted (and it’s not a good thing)! Your goal in this life is to put right value on the right things. To collect, but to preserve.
Moon in III: Someone who has moon in the 3rd (like me btw) is troubled by the decisions he or she makes in life. The mind is so active, there are so many thoughts running trough your head that you can’t decide on which side you’re truly on. And this will be a very big problem when you’ll have to choose a path in your life. You’ll struggle a lot of times with your thoughts and the influences of the outside world before you decide what is good for you. I don’t want to say you’ll have to go trough a mental breakdown before you realize what is your path (those are tough words I know) but indeed there will be something that will shock you so hard and you will calm down, realizing that you are you, and the outside is the outside. You can’t be constantly overwhelmed of what other thinks, what society thinks, your friends, your professor and so on. There are good and bad sides, everywhere. Stop changig your mind all the time. Don’t waste your life on that.
Moon in IV: The moon is in domicile here, since the moon rules Cancer and Cancer rules on the 4th house. A wonderer, someone who likes to explore and to experience a lot of things maybe will have this placement. Why? Cancer is related to the home, to the roots, but in order to enjoy his family and home someone who has his or her moon here needs to explore and then, when is full of experiences, come back to share their stories to others. You need to live outside of your comforting shell if you want to be positive and to balancing in the right way your emotions. In karmic astrology, is said that someone with this placement in the previous life sent someone dear to them (a son or a daughter) really young far from home, and his karmic debt in this life is to suffer the homesickness every time they get away from home.
Moon in V: If it will happen that someone with this moon in the 5th house will have a daughter or a son, he or she will have to truly enjoy and take the responsibilities for them. They have to learn how to nurture their sons instead of focusing only on their love relationship. In fact, it is more possible that they wouldn’t last too long, since in their past life, they did the exact same thing and they need to learn this lesson to get rid of it.
Moon in VI: If you have the moon in the 6th house, you have probably noticed that everything seems “simple” to you, and you tend to familiarizing with things that you don’t know too much, pretending that you do. In my Karmic Astrology book it says that the moon is with mercury a planet that rules a part of the mind, mercury rules the analytical type (gemini, virgo) and the moon rules the instinct type of rationality. You have this type of imbalance here. Someday you will have to use your mind not only for the simple tasks of the every day routine, but for more complicated things, and you’ll have to study, to analyze, and to truly see the real meaning behind the most difficult things. This is your karmic debt.

Your Sun in your Solar Return
Every year on your birthday your sun returns to the same location as your natal birth chart. On that day, the sky will tell you about your upcoming year. Reading a natal solar return chart is challenging because many sources disagree upon the meaning. A good rule of thumb is to always refer back to the sign and condition of the house and ruling planet of your natal chart. What is their condition? How does their energy function for you?
In previous posts I have written a lot about the ascendant of the solar return. This post assumes you have done that work and focuses on the location of the solar return sun.
Sun in the Solar Return
1st House: Encourages individual action and indicates personal success. Will highlight the house of your natal sun.
2nd House: Earnings come more easily and you are more clear about your earning potential. Ambitions will run high but you may become jaded and pessimistic about your own worth if afflicted.
3rd House: Interactions with your colleagues, neighborhood, or siblings increase. Writing, speaking, and socializing fill your year. Success in study is indicated by positive aspects.
4th House: The sun here often indicates changes in the home or interest in real estate – especially if Uranus or Pluto is involved. You may find yourself delving into your past, your roots, your heritage, or ancestry. New furniture and decor is often purchased and represents an inner desire to tidy up your inner psyche.
5th House: The sun’s rulership in your natal chart will tell you how a 5th house sun will express. If it rules the 1st, 3rd, or 9th there is a focus on expansion of self and personal expression. If it rules your natal 7th or 11th, then relationships will rule the year. If you have children or are trying to have children they may be the focus of the year in some way.
6th House: Personal health is brought into focus. If service is called for, it is important to give it freely. You may need to rest, diet, or exercise as a way to relieve stress to both mind and body. Sometimes an increase in work and productivity are associated with this placement. You can become more regimented and detail-oriented.
7th House: Often the sun in the 7th will tell you more about your partner than yourself. Your relationship may transform in some way if you are partnered. If not, you may find yourself partnering up in work or life. If the sun is close to the descendant, you may find yourself in conflict with another. The house that your sun rules will tell you more about the nature of your relationships for the year.
8th House: Sometimes the sun in the 8th indicates dealings with mortality, but more often it indicates the end of a life situation. Because the 8th house is indicative of others’ power over our finances, investments, inheritances, and karmic dues, these can also be an indicator of an 8th house year. You may find yourself owing others, or others owing you in some way. Ultimately this is a house of release and renewal.
9th House: A year of growing and learning. Sometimes spiritual, sometimes through travel, and sometimes through advanced schooling, your ambition is high in a 9th house year. This is a year of stepping outside of your comfort zone.
10th House: Prominence is brought to career and public life. Your reputation will spread and you will find yourself in a position to receive accolades, promotion, and achievements. Afflictions can indicate challenges and the sun’s rulership of your natal chart can speak more to the areas of life you will be given opportunities to excel.
11th House: A year when plans and goals are realized. Increased activity with groups, institutions and the introduction of new friends. Organized activities are often highlighted with this placement and you may become more active in causes you believe in. Plans for the future are made and you are determined to set the course to manifest them.
12th House: Can sometimes indicate a year that includes health issues or underlying disease, but in general points to a year of uncovering 12th house issues (spirituality, unconscious, karma, and closing out of cycles).

planets in the 5th house
DOMAIN OF THE 5TH HOUSE
Creative self-expression (painting, drawing, sculpting, sewing, writing, acting, music, dance, woodworking, etc.), and the art you make
Creative, pleasure-seeking sex drive
Your children, and the qualities they inherit from you
Falling in love, and having a young romance
Fun (games, gambles, parties, hobbies, recreational activities, entertainment)
Weekends, vacations, holidays, and relaxing time off
SUN IN THE 5H:The act of creating – be it art, invention, stories, crafts, or even children – is what you live to do. Your own chosen discipline will depend on what it is you enjoy doing the most. For some, their chosen avenue is fine art, and they love to design, draw, paint, sculpt, and write. Others like performance art, preferring to be active in their artistry when they sing, dance, play music, or act. There are those who are crafty and like to sew, decorate, and make and build things. For some it is their children, their literary creations, which constantly boost their ego by being cute and special. And then there are the people who go for games and sports above all else, who like to play around and engage in their competitive spirits. You can be any combination of these, from artist to performer to parent or sports fan. The point is, whatever it is you like to do, you do it because you have a fundamental desire to create and have fun.The other side of the fun-and-pleasure coin, apart from creativity, is romance. There are realms of life that you need to experience with a Leo or Aries-type of partner and the wonders of love and sex are definitely some of them. You adore the pampering, the flirting, the cutesy-cuddly-lovey-dovey side of things. That feeling of being special that your crave so deeply can be found when you are with somebody that makes you feel that way. But you also need somebody who can keep up with you energetically, add some fun into your life, and share your colourful hobbies together. Because you experience a great deal of love through your ego, it is all too easy for you to soak up a lot of praise and attention like it is all for you and then not give any back again. It is important that your ego remains ripe and healthy, or else your vitality and creative energy fails and you become bitter. But if you want children, and pets, and love, and to have healthy relationships you need to learn to shine brightly upon others and make them feel special too.
MOON IN THE 5H:Your creativity comes and goes like the changing faces of the moon, ebbing in and out like the tides she sways back and forth. You are highly changeable in this way. Yet you are also constant in that you always come back to it, carried by a need that is natural to you. Your mother likely had a hand in fostering your creative expression. And when you create you are finding your inner child, connecting to the spirit inside of you that needs to do and make and feel.Children are another sort of creation, and one that you are strongly in line with having. When you have children of your own you will give them this emotional and creative part of yourself. Nurturing and compassionate, you resemble the playful mother or father figure ever present in children’s media. However, there is a cold underside to this warm and happy Moon. You tend to be moody and dramatically emotional, using your moods to manipulate your children into doing what you want rather than directly telling them. You can be needy and clingy, never wanting them to grow up and leave the home, always wanting them to remain by your side. It is a testament not only to how much your children need you, but how much you need them as well. The Moon is highly changeable, fluctuating and rhythmic, but it doesn’t like change. Emotions seek out the security and safety of constancy and trust. You love your children very much, and so tenaciously hold onto family times with them for as long as you can. But you need to understand that your relationships with your children will go through phases, just like your creative energies go through phases, and that is okay. You are a kind and intuitive parent and are loved whole-heartedly by your children!
MERCURY IN THE 5H:Your loving, romantic, and sexual sides of life are perhaps your most engaging, occupying a large amount of your time with interesting lovers around you. Second are the creative aspects of your life, the projects, artistic works, and hobbies with which you fill your free time. Later in life when you have children, that may just become your newest and most interesting ongoing project to date. The things that give you joy are the things that hold your attention the longest. You find creating new things, pouring out your heart and soul into new ventures, entirely fascinating. Boring things that you do not like to do, do not hold your attention long enough for you to get anything done. It seems more often than not that you have a child’s attention-span, which is true! You will fall in love with those who reflect the qualities of your 5th House. You are likely to get along with Gemini and Virgo types for that reason. The Gemini side of things involves much learning, talking, and communication between you and other people. This is where you delight one another in wonderful conversations discussion the nature of the world. You can’t fall in love with someone you don’t have interesting conversations with. It just won’t happen! The Virgo side of this placement is slightly different. This involves conversation of a more analytical nature, of dissecting the world around you and figuring things out. You run of the risk of being too critical here, especially of your loved ones, as your mind seeks to perfect that which lies in your 5th House. Together these signs give you much changeability, suiting both your fickleness in love and your desire to learn more. Romantically and sexually you are inclined towards many affairs with many different kinds of people. Constant change and a steady stream of new people keeps you mentally stimulated. When it comes to love, sex, and fun, you need to be intellectually interested in the person or the thing you are doing. Boredom spells disaster in that respect!
VENUS IN THE 5H:You are in love with love! You usually gravitate towards Taurus or Libra personalities who are the very essence of Venus: beautiful, harmonious, relationship-oriented, sensual, and with a shared love of the arts. But you may also be drawn to other Leo-types who mirror your child-like creative drive and dramatic emotional ways. Love, sex, fun, and pleasure are top priorities with this placement, and you want a lover who fulfills all of those needs at once. Constant streams of praise and attention should also feature. You need to feel as though they passionately adore you in every waking moment and as though they dream only of you at night. Overall it can be seen that you have had many relationships that contain both love and sex. Your drive for sex and romance is as great as your drive for creative expression! This is a highly creative place for the already artistic Venus to be. Armed with a desire to make beautiful things, you create a personal style that has flair, drama, and beauty inherent in it. You may lean towards more sensual beauty and indulge in cooking and gardening. Or you may take a route through the fine arts and enjoy drawing, painting, writing, sculpting, acting, music, interior decorating, fashion, and more aesthetic pleasures. You love not only making art, but being around it as well – trips to galleries and museums, craft classes, theatres, going out to shows. You appreciate what art does for humanity and how important it is culturally. Furthermore, you have the talent necessary to be successful in the art and entertainment industries. Being artistic is one way you can make your life feel more balanced, more harmonized with your natural spirit. Having a creative outlet is very important for your emotional and spiritual wellness. It is one of your greatest sources of pleasure and something you indulge in often. In order for you to feel fulfilled with your life you must find an avenue to express your desire to create. This will trickle down into other areas of your life eventually as well, spurring a desire to create children of your own eventually.
MARS IN THE 5H:You tend to fall in love quickly at first sight, rush impulsively into sexual affairs, get bored quickly, and then leave just as fast. You are ambitious in your pursuit of love and willful in getting the person you want. There is conflict with your loves ones over your ego, your impatience in making love, your attempts to dominate the relationship, and how competitive you can be with others both inside and outside of the relationship. Yet you possess such a strong personal magnetism and virile energy that lovers can’t help but be spellbound by you. The aggression you display in love can be a problem, but in the bedroom it is exciting! Your strength, confidence, sexual potency, and need for independence mean that you dislike the clingy or the needy, and that you are better suited for a relationship that doesn’t require you to be around 24/7. For the right lover who can handle you, you are a dream come true. You need to be a winner in the games and sports that you love to play. You need to create the best, biggest, most awe-inspiring works of art imaginable, because you can’t settle for second place. Mars is put into all of your creative work, too, as seen on the stamp of individuality you have in your style. You are one for creative achievements; armed with enough drive and determination to be successful in any creative field (particularly the art and entertainment industries). Mars shows where lies part of your ambition, and placed in the 5th House you have strong powers of creation. As your strong sex drive leads to the creation of children, your drive to be creative leads to you dominating the creative arts. Whatever your chosen artistic outlet is – fine arts, performance arts, writing, crafts, trades, etc. – you put a heavy amount of your energy into what you are making. You possess a natural flair for amping up the energy and making people excited. Your natural dramatic flair and enthusiasm is contagious!
JUPITER IN THE 5H:You are a naturally romantic person, seeking pleasure of every kind in your love and sex lives. Luck finds you often in love; many people look at your lovers and regard what a catch they are. You can be sometimes indiscreet about your love life (letting others know more than their share), but that’s what happens with this placement! You seem destined to fall in love with those with Sagittarius-like or Piscean qualities, as those two signs most resemble Jupiter’s exaggerated and expansive energy. In lovers you are looking for someone who can make you laugh, someone with a captivating entertaining personality. You are attracted to generosity, indulgence, big-hearted displays of affection, and a joint pleasure-seeker. Perhaps you want someone to share in an adventure – traveling the world, taking trips, exploring things together. Or perhaps you want to venture mentally, expanding your mind, teaching and learning things from one another. Sagittarius will wonder you with how funny they can be, how adventurous, and in how open-minded they are. And Pisces will enchant you through their dreamy looks, captivating beauty, and how kind their soul is. Through your choice lovers you will become wiser. You may even find new spiritual or philosophical insights into your own life. You enjoy exciting recreational activities like sporting events, parties, theater, and gambling. You life is filled with hobbies and activities that are fun, exciting, and entertaining. Adventurous sports and games of chance are some of your favourites. But watch out for some extravagant gambling highs and lows! Your creative side runs along much the same course. You expand and elaborate on other people’s ideas until you have created something that is entirely your own. Two of your best outlets for Jupiter’s expression are in performance arts (acting, music, anything on stage or on screen) and physical activities like sports. There is a lot of dramatic flair in whatever you do creatively. Jupiter needs to expand on everything and make it bigger, louder, more impressive, and more fantastic than everyone else. Your performances have more energy and excitement than anyone else’s. You are a natural born entertainer, and you know what you have to do in order to get and keep people’s attention on you.
SATURN IN THE 5H;Your ability to let loose and just have fun is severely limited. You do not know how to enjoy games or the casual pastime. Having fun is serious business! Somehow you have amassed a massive insecurity when it comes to expressing yourself and your individuality; you are afraid that what you have made is not good enough, and this fear reflects even deeper feelings about yourself. You experienced one or both parents (likely the father) as an expert, talent, or authority when it came to creativity, sports, or games. He trained you, guided you, taught you skills and lessons and pushed you to get better all the time. At times you hated it because it wasn’t fun anymore; he was invading your hobby, what you did for fun, and turning it into a chore to practice over and over again. Achievement became the central goal of your project, not the pleasure or the fun. These experiences stuck with you and coloured your adult attitudes towards your pastimes. Fun is now a matter of dedication, discipline, expertise, and success. You take your creative projects, your hobbies, games, sports, and so on very seriously. You are committed to them as one would be divinely committed to any career or meaningful goal. You only know how to undertake long-term goals like writing a book, athletic training, or running a creative-based business; you find it much harder to just casually write a short story, draw the odd drawing, write the odd song, play the odd game, work out sometimes. You need to dedicate yourself to the cause or not participate at all. Everything is very black-and-white in your 5th House. And everything is quite grey, too. You suffer from low self-esteem, low self-worth, insecurity, even shyness. You work alone in private spaces and hide your project for years, telling yourself you aren’t ready yet, it isn’t good enough. You are never ready to open up and show everybody what you have been seriously dedicated to for the past several years, even though you hope to make a career of it. It is a fact that our creative expressions are reflections of our most personal inner selves, and having our art or our abilities harshly criticized is tantamount to having our heart broken. It is your karma to overcome these fears, stop worrying, and become more flexible. If not for you, then for your future children.
URANUS IN THE 5H:You tend to fall in and out of love quickly. Passion strikes you quickly and then leaves just as fast, causing you to be somewhat “undecided” about whether or not you are in love with someone. At any given time you likely have several ongoing crushes and are entirely uncertain about which to pursue and when. Even when you are in a relationship your eyes wander and wonder about what could happen with other people. This does not necessarily indicate that you are one for affairs, but it does mean that you feel happiest when you have the freedom to roam around within your love and sex life. This stems from Uranus’ innate restlessness, the ongoing desire for novelty and experimentation within the realm of love and happiness. You prefer to charm and date older people for they have more experience, more knowledge to pass onto you. What you seek are Gemini or Aquarius types who can give you an unconventional sex life – two things that can keep you interested for a longer period of time. When it eventually comes to your creations, they embody the same Uranus-energy as that which is present inside of you when you create them. Weird love and crazy sex breeds unique and different children, and an alternative taste spawns innovative and inventive arts and crafts. Your entire creative style, from what you make to the way you dress, is so alternative and modern in style that it defies all familiar structures entirely. You push your boundaries and invent new things, billowing strange and crazy ideas out of the back of your imagination. Creative insight comes to you in sudden spontaneous bursts that inspire you to drop everything and move quickly to get the idea out there. Whatever your hobby or creative endeavor may be, be it drawing, writing, designing, building, crafting, or anything in between, one can say with certainty that you are extraordinary and gifted at being original. There is an ongoing journey of self discovery to realizing your full potential here. You push boundaries and develop quickly, all while demanding your freedom to express yourself.
NEPTUNE IN THE 5H:You excel in any kind of creative art but particularly in music, dance, and drama. You love movies, television, the theatre, and performance art of all kinds; the entertainment industry fascinates you, and you would do well in it if you decided to take to the stage. Neptune here allows you to express your feelings with enormous magnitude, which denotes a performer and a comedian in the best of ways. But even if you chose a shyer route (like writing, drawing, or painting, something quiet that you can do alone) your work would still have the same big, extravagant colours as an extroverted piece. What exactly your side-hobbies are is not important. What is important is that you have an outlet for your imagination and your desire to create. You without a creative outlet are like a plant without sunlight: sad, limp, and malnourished of the soul.Of course, where Neptune lies in your chart is a place of illusions, and those places where she seems to bring joy and talent can also be a place of suffering. Her house placement shows where you seek to find heaven on earth – where you set up high, unrealistic expectations that could never come true. Neptune, by nature, is not of the earth, and when you encounter the reality of this house you are always disappointed with what you actually got. Then she starts up with her tricks again. One moment she blesses you with an unparalleled flair for the arts, the next she makes you feel like a failure that will never be as good as someone else. Happiness finds you one day and depression the next. It feels often like you just don’t get to be happy. You always have to sacrifice your happiness, your pleasure, your creative talent, give it away, and become a martyr. She gives you gifts but then asks you to sacrifice them, to give them away, because she is supposed to blend, lose her barriers, and then unite you with the rest of humanity.
PLUTO IN THE 5H: With Pluto here, your love life is nothing short of intense. Your romances all tend to be highly sexual, highly passionate, and very transformative for the both of you. But with all these incredible emotions blazing between you, your loving and sexual relationships can dip into some darker extremes. Perhaps this comes from a difficult childhood spent watching your parent’s love swing one way or another. Or perhaps it is because you are most attracted to Capricorn and Scorpio types of personalities, those who have indomitable strength of will but who also possess tendencies towards depression, anxiety, and alcoholism. They can become tumultuous affairs with power struggles, control issues, shades of abuse, and emotional manipulation. Looking back on your past lovers, you harbour much resentment and guilt on the way things went. To the other extremes you make great sacrifices and are incredibly loyal. You provide your lovers with strength, courage, and the fruits of your ambition. The sex is deep and amazing. You heal them, and are healed in return.

planets in the 4th house
DOMAIN OF THE 4TH HOUSE
Privacy (seclusion, isolation, solitude)
Home (houses, physical shelter, real estate), or places which feel comfortable and familiar
Family (parents, grandparents, extended family, ancestry, lineage); living in and sharing intimate spaces with caregivers and protectors
Childhood and family friends who knew you in your younger “shaping” years
The past (nostalgia, photographs, tradition, vintage items)
The early childhood environment, from your toddler years to your adolescence, or from your earliest memories to first moving out of the family home
Things which are passed down your family line, such as your family surname, religious or cultural traditions, recipes, beliefs, and so on
SUN IN THE 4H:With this placement, you are a very home and family oriented person. Your life rotates around the comforts of private spaces and the familiarity of what you grew up with. Home becomes a sanctuary removed from the stresses of outside life, a protected place for you to retreat into when you need to be alone. You continue to harbour close ties to your childhood and the traditions of your family. Hearty homemade meals, the warmth of your grandparent’s hearth, the old family properties you grew up visiting, holidays together. Grandpa’s stories and grandma’s cooking. Soft cushions on the couch and fuzzy blankets on your bed. Sitting alone in your room as a teenager, old family friends stopping by, and big extended family parties in the house. You have many idyllic memories of growing up and you hold onto them for the rest of your life.A large part of your personal identity comes from your parents and what values you grew up with. Growing up, your parents dominated your early life. One or both parents were experienced as authoritative, controlling, and powerful. You had to fight with them in order to gain some sort of independence because they had such a strong hold over you. In many cases 4th House Suns grow up with an absent parent; you either fill the parental role in their stead or spend a lifetime searching elsewhere for the missing parent. You must learn to distinguish your own self from your family background – to understand who you are instead of how you are like your mother and father – without denying that you are a part of your family altogether. This transition can be very difficult. You likely want to stay closely connected to your parents well into adulthood. Severing financial, emotional, and ethical ties with your mom and dad will be tough. But it has to be done in order for you to grow out of your insecurity and become your own person.
MOON IN THE 4H:The home, and especially the bedroom, is a sacred place for you. It is where you keep your feelings under lock and key. You have been this way all your life. One mustn’t doubt the powerful effect our relationships with others in the family home have on our emotional make-up later on in life. You in particular, as the family home is your emotional container, experienced your upbringing in a very emotional way. One might say the past has a lunar quality to it too, fluctuating from the light of happy nostalgia to the dark of tepid secrets. What better container is there for you to pour your heart and soul into? Except, perhaps, into the past, where you linger on events long ago. The past doesn’t change; it is as secure a structure as there ever was. You may actually prefer to place your heart back in your childhood and board it up against events of the present, which lack the wonder and innocence of your younger years - especially if your family is hurtful, unpredictable, or unaccepting of you. Good or bad, you have a very close bond to your parents, having forged many memories, traditions, habits, disciplines, and joyful comforts by their side. Like the physical structure of the home, the relational structure of family frames how you relate to the world around you on a personal level.
MERCURY IN THE 4H:Your childhood, your family members, events in the past, and your home growing up, all had a very profound effect on the way you think. In fact, the way you think, your opinions, your tastes – all are nearly identical to one or both parents. This can mean that you carry more traditional views and a more conservative outlook on life. (At some point you may be called away from the family’s influence in order to establish your own ways of thinking about the world.) They stimulated your curiosity for learning and encouraged you to think rationally about the world. In some cases this means you came from a highly academic family who valued intelligence and logic. Or your family could have swung more towards practical skills like trades and cooking. You experienced them as sensible and reasonable, perhaps at the expense of emotional warmth. They connected with you on a much more mental level. Mercury shows where in your chart you accumulate the most knowledge, what you are most interested in learning about, and what you like to talk about the most. The answer to all of these falls within the categories of “home and family”.As a child you saw your parents as highly communicative people who loved to talk and socialize in large groups of people. They loved to be active. They loved to express their views and opinions, wanted to articulate themselves with wit and humour, and thoroughly enjoyed having other people over as often as they did. There was a lot of noise and activity whirling around you growing up; your family contained many extended family and friends who lit the air with conversation. Sometimes their noise turned against each other and inflated into arguments, bickering, and squabbling. They came and went often in and out of the house, likely working out of town as you were growing up. Your experience of your parents reflected the qualities of the planet Mercury: always out and doing something, never still for very long, highly social, with a need for constant amusement and communication. You inherited this part of them through your family line. Whether by blood or by being raised by them, they gave you a mind that never shuts off and a home life that never quiets down. Growing up and venturing off into your own home, your carry Mercury over there as well, lifting it directly out of your childhood home and placing it on the mantelpiece.
VENUS IN THE 4H: You are one of the most beautiful or handsome members of your family. Growing up your family placed a lot of emphasis on beauty, relationships with other people, harmony, and sensual pleasures, making your family one of the best-looking ones from the outside in. From what you have observed they care very much about how the family looks to other people. Your parents dressed you up in nice clothes, fed you delicious food, bought a nice house in a nice part of town, and gave your money when you needed it. They fostered your artistic talents and encouraged any avenue of creative expression. The dark side of this placement was that you also picked up vanity, laziness, indulgences in food and spending money, and materialism along the way. You resent your family for these qualities, but you cannot deny that you possess them yourself. For example, you inherited their expensive taste for home furnishings, and now find it difficult to settle for anything less than just-as-good as your family home.
MARS IN THE 4H:You come from a background of fighters who exuded strength, ambition, energy, sexuality, and vitality. Through your family line you inherited their work ethic, their drive, and their desires. You grew up being fed ambition and taught the value of hard work. Loud and obnoxious, but intent on achieving their goals, they raised you to continue being a fighter. Now Mars runs through your blood, lives in your past, and is remembered well from your childhood.Growing up there was plenty of conflict between your parents and in your home, some of it seen, some of it unseen. Competitiveness between family members, power struggles, fighting, vying for dominance, and varied arguments were commonplace. In extreme cases there was violence, adultery, even abuse. As you got older you started to participate in domestic battles more, fighting with your parents for your own freedom and autonomy. Perhaps you didn’t want to be at home anymore, or perhaps you were frustrated with what you home life under their rule felt like. But at some point it became clear that the only way you were going to get the independence you wanted was to leave and strike out on your own.
JUPITER IN THE 4H:This placement is indicative of big extended families brought together by many friendships and many marriages. You are very proud of your heritage, your home, and of your family name. And you are very lucky to have been born into the family that you were, for you will inherit much spiritual and material wealth from them in your lifetime. Benefits are set to befall you through your parents especially. From them you received much love, guidance, support, and security. They were very generous with their time and attention when you were little, and continued to make you feel special as you grew older. You saw them as larger-than-life figures bursting with happiness and joy. They were idols of power, wisdom, with all the potential for greatness afforded to them. You also saw hedonism and a roving eye – a call to their pleasure-seeking and self-serving ideologies. You saw the more animalistic side to them that wanted the freedom to roam and do as they pleased, unrestrained by responsibility. Warts and all, you learned a lot from their teachings and owe much to them.Jupiter’s house placement is said to show where in your life you become wiser to the ways of the world. This is where you become enlightened to your own personal truths. Placed in the 4th House, you gain wisdom through your family, your home, your childhood, and events which occurred in your past. Many of your beliefs and ideas come directly from your parent. From them you inherited very strong spiritual, political, and philosophical views. Many of your beliefs are more traditional or more conservative in nature because you lift wisdom directly from your ancestors, retaining old customs and traditions well into the new age. Also from your parents, however, you inherited their love of travelling the world both physically (literally) and mentally (by expanding your mind and learning about foreign cultures). There will come a time when you are confronted with a very flawed and human image of your parents, which shatters the preconceived godlike image you had before. Through dealings with your family, both good and bad, you become a wiser person. You learn many things over the course of your childhood about the nature of family and home life, of human relationships and the comforts of home, and you retain these teachings into your own home life later on.
SATURN IN THE 4H:Your childhood lacked basic warmth, affection, and the assurance that you were loved no matter what. In your darkest hours you sat alone, in your room, with nobody there to comfort you, and these events cut a hole deep inside of your younger years. This placement indicates the possible loss of parents either through death, divorce, physical absence, or emotional distance. The last on that list is the most common. You experienced your parents (likely the father) as cold and impersonal – a strict, materialistic, rigid, and conservative authority that made you feel that you had to earn their love and attention through honouring and impressing them. Because they were so critical and demanding you felt like a burden, a failure in their eyes. Difficult as it was to be honest about your feelings, you did what you could, but never thought it was enough. You couldn’t be what they wanted you to be, and you carried those feelings well into adulthood.Owning a home and starting a family is one of your more sought after and most precious ambitions; you want a domestic life more than you want anything else in this world. But due to imbedded fears and deeply held beliefs, as well as a healthy dose of procrastination, you are slow and cautious when approaching this long-term goal. You will encounter difficulties, setbacks, and delays, mostly due to your own inaction and stubbornness. Finding a parent-worthy spouse, saving up enough money, actually making the decision to buy a home, plus the added stresses and challenges of having kids – all can seem so hopelessly set in the distant future that you wonder if it all is even worth the effort. Ingrained memories and lessons taught to you by your parents hold you back as well, but not nearly as much as your own cautiousness does. You need to learn to relax in this area of life, to be more flexible, optimistic and fun-loving, or else one of the greatest journeys in your lifetime will be reduced to a chore.
URANUS IN THE 4H:Most people go through a rebellious phase when they are children, or teenagers, or when they decide to start a family of their own. You are no stranger to rebellion against traditional family values or conservative views in your family. You have always felt like you do not belong in the family you were born into because you are so different from the rest of them. With that in mind, it is so surprise when you decide you would rather be off on your own. The 4th House represents how you view events in the past and in your childhood, your family, your home life, and your relationship with your parents growing up. Uranus is a planet of spontaneous action, erratic movements, changeability, and originality. With this planet placed here you have experienced your home and family life as unstable, unstructured, and on the verge of revolution always. Tossed on the waves of erratic emotions, moving often, making and breaking ties, you grew up shipwrecked on an unfamiliar isle.Growing up, your childhood was different than everyone else’s. Your family was unusual and different, perhaps even weirdly so. Your parents were not the most conventional, and neither was your home growing up. This placement is common for those who do not have a traditional family structure; it is common to have an eclectic mix of step-family and extended family members. Your early life was unstable. Your family was disrupted by sudden changes, some of which forced you to move often. It is in part due to the nature of your parents, whom you saw as unpredictable, wildly emotional people. They may have felt “trapped” by becoming a parent, appeared and disappeared from the house often, or it could have just been a part of their nature. But their unpredictable changeability defiantly affected you growing up. You found it difficult to have a close emotional relationship with one or both parents. You may have even seen them suffer some kind of nervous breakdown at some point in your childhood. More positively, you saw their genius, their originality, their free-thinking and open-minded way of approaching the world. You learned not to judge and how to accept people. Your family was different. And in more ways than one, you were different from them.
NEPTUNE IN THE 4H: The family you were born into lives on a very subconscious, emotional level, and you must not unearth the dark of your 4th House. You experienced one or both of your parents as highly sensitive, emotional people, who flee into avenues of escapism whenever they get upset. Like your past, you are confused about how you should remember them. They were imaginative, creative, romantic, and artistic. They loved deeply and have supported you endlessly, becoming totally consumed by the love of their children and their family. As a child you idolized them. But as you grew older you were disappointed in the earthly reality of their flaws and humanity. Perhaps they were absent, either emotionally or physically, and you replaced your parent with an imagined version of them. Perhaps you saw them give all of their time and attention to other people and work, or saw their own emotional escape into alcoholism or elsewhere, and it caused you great pain. Neptune is full of illusions, delusions, confusion, and misunderstanding. While you are deeply connected on an emotional level, you do not know what you are feeling much of the time.
PLUTO IN THE 4H:You experienced your family home as intensely emotional, aggressive, manipulative, ambitious, and highly secretive. You saw sorts of alcoholism, depression, anxiety, sex, fighting, and/or drug use. You know of their secrets and emotional complexes, and always felt there were things present that were never actually spoken of. And at some point you developed your own set of emotional complexes from being abused, bullied, fought, oppressed, betrayed, or because of some traumatic event. By the end of your teenage years you had established black-and-white loyalties within your family, and began to view your past with painful memories in mind. When still young you went through a loss or separation due to death, divorce, emotional or physical distance; but you also experienced the birth of a new member into the family, either through birth or marriage. The most difficult part of your Plutonian journey is done when you finally move out of your family home. When you are secure in your own house (with your own private spaces that are all yours), and you have some distance between yourself and your family members, you can finally begin to work through the deep emotional turmoil that lives within your subconscious mind. You spend a lot of time trying to cut yourself off from your feelings and deny how aggressive and forceful your emotions are. Outside, you try to suppress what you do not want others to see. But it is within the home that you are your most vulnerable because it is there that you amassed trauma and there that it all eventually comes out. You are destined to re-live your adult family life role-playing as your parent or oppressor as a way of gaining back the power you had lost. The ways you dominate the house and try to control everything that goes on, your “unwritten” rules, power struggles, frustration, and the subtle manipulation all mirror what was initially done to you as a child, and are now present within the home again. And yet instead of reliving the past as the one in control, you slowly watch everything fall apart despite everything you do.

planets in the 3rd house
DOMAIN OF THE 3RD HOUSE
Learning (reading, listening, studying, researching, analyzing) and communication of your first language (writing, speaking, signing, singing)
Motor skills, such as running, walking, crawling, and dancing (anything involving dexterity and coordination, really)
“Short-distance travel”, meaning travel around familiar environments or close to home
Logical challenges: taking things apart and putting them back together, puzzles, and games that require mental skill
Children your age; siblings, cousins, and neighbourhood, daycare, or elementary school companions
Early childhood environment from birth to the toddler years, and your earliest memories
SUN IN THE 3H:You found your self-worth lied in being smart and well-spoken, and in doing so found power in being intelligent. Speaking, reading, writing, teaching, learning, and listening all become you, as the exchange of information is a large part of who you are as a person. Your mind is active and very easily bored, and so is always looking for something mentally stimulating to latch onto.Aside from communication, you also do well in fields where you work with your hands. You don’t just talk the talk – you have plenty of practical skills to back it up too. Stereo-typically, women with this placement tend to be more communication-oriented, while men tend to be more trade-oriented. But that has more to do with how our culture teaches each sex to behave more than it does inherent qualities of Sun in the 3rd House. Both men and women alike can enjoy writing stories, poetry, song lyrics, essays, speeches, jokes. And both men and women can make a living for themselves in mechanics, computers, video games, electrical, carpentry, cooking, crafts, and other trades.
MOON IN THE 3H: Having your moon placed in the third house indicates that you saw your mother more like a big-sister than as a parent herself. Often this placement is given to the most responsible child which is closest to the parents. Taking on a parental role yourself (such as the oldest sibling looking after their younger ones, or the only child who sees their parents more like roommates than actual authorities) you sit on equal terms with your mother, seldom looking to her for emotional comfort or security. But this aloof detachment from your nurturing caregiver can lead to problems in your intimate relationships later on in life. Being rational, logical, and intellectual is not a bad thing, certainly!
MERCURY IN THE 3H:Your brain is very good at absorbing a multitude of things at once, allowing you to change from one thing to the next without missing a beat. You are a collector of facts and figures, the type of person that likes to know a little bit about everything. Nothing escapes the grasp of your curiosity. Your attention span may not be very long, but it is long enough to get the basic idea before continuing on. You pick up on things quickly, after all, and you do not waste time studying once you understand. In turn you may become fickle and finicky with boredom when forced into patience. It is not your fault for wanting to keep moving forward in search of more exciting activities! And it isn’t your fault that you have a lot of interesting things to say and you want to say all of it right now! But, you could still stand to settle, meditate for a moment, and focus on one task at a time. After all, how can you apply your mind constructively if you refuse to listen and build your skills? The best route for you is to exploit your mind’s capacity for taking in and expelling information. There are several different ways you can do this, beginning with communication. You love to talk. You always want to chat about the things you know and have others tell you their thoughts in exchange. An element of performance can make it all the better, especially when combined with some speaking role. This can make for exciting work as a writer, journalist, speaker, host, educator, or even different kinds of customer service. Of course, spending all day every day around people may or may not be your favourite thing. So you may instead look for work where you are doing something, uniting your brain with your body and producing some set of manual skills. Singing, acting, dancing, and playing music are all examples where breath meets self. Sports and crafts are two examples of coordinated movement. There is a recurring correlation between the people who need lots of mental stimulation and the playing of games, particularly video games and puzzles. You can be any of these, or all of them. The basic fact that unites all of these activities is this: You need to connect with other people by communicating with them, and you need to figure things out.
VENUS IN THE 3H:Conversation keeps you alive – deep, thought-provoking conversation, light-hearted discussions, hearty debates, casual small-talk. Sometimes you prefer to just stick close to your partner or your best friend. Other times you may gather around a group of friends and family and mingle from one person to another. If you thoroughly enjoy people, you can be found chatting up strangers in crowded streets, clubs, pubs, or big social events. Your relationships take you travelling on trips both long and short, and love seems to find you when you leave home and venture out into the world. And both love and friendship find you often when you travel away from home. You tend to be attracted to other Gemini-types of people who love to talk, learn new things, and who think intellectually about the world. You find yourself drawn to mentally alert, logical, rational people with enough wit and charm to get away with saying anything.Venus in the 3rd is also highly centred around learning and communication, as these are the basic tenets of this house. When gentle, beautiful, beauty-loving Venus dances here, she gifts you with eloquent speech. You can be a bit of a flirt, of course. You take pleasure in reading, writing, and speaking to people. Nothing pleases you more than time by yourself with a book, writing down a story that has been stuck in your head, crafting poems or songs, or visiting with loved ones.
MARS IN THE 3H: As a younger child, there was conflict between yourself and your siblings, cousins, neighbours, and other school children your own age. Sometimes it was competitive, sometimes it was defiance, sometimes it may even have been violence. Other times it was you being valiantly protective of them. This was your first testing ground for flexing your Mars inhibitions, strength, and aggression. Later, Mars comes out in others ways. You drive too fast and too recklessly, too impatient when you want to get somewhere. Your thoughts are consumed by sex and anger alike. You take many trips to new cities and back, likely making these short travels a part of your life. Disagreements with teachers, debates, rebelling against the rules, and challenging conventional thought have always been your ways of expressing your own thoughts and ideas about the world. You have always had a strong, wilful mind and your own way of thinking, and for those who sought to mould you into a certain type of thinker you proved challenging. Perhaps this is why you have always been attracted to Gemini-types of people. They talk a lot, have just as short of an attention span, are mentally and physically always on the move. You can verbally spar with one another and then suddenly move onto a conversation about something else. They make excellent lovers and companions for you.
JUPITER IN THE 3H:As a young child you likely travelled or moved often and changed schools frequently, which further spurred your tendency to flirt with several disciplines at once but quickly move onto the next thing soon after. You also have good relationships with your siblings and your cousins. But the main point of Jupiter in this house is for you to use the power of words to communicate Jupiter to the rest of the word. It is not easy, as you will read here, but it is your higher purpose.Jupiter and its 3rd House home are uncomfortable with one another, each one hindering the other. For example, you tend to exaggerate when you communicate. Important facts and details are glossed over so you can bend the rules to fit with your expanding mind, giving rise to impractical ideas and reckless reasoning. You are also cursed with a mind that is all over the place trying to contain an abundance of thoughts, both big picture and small. Always busy with several intellectual interests at once, your energies are left scattered and restless. Your thirst for learning is never quenched, and since you are forever learning and seldom doing, your efforts are basically unproductive. You may even feel as though you are the perpetual student. When will you finally know enough? How do you marry abstract ideas to logical reasoning?  How do you communicate with flair while still sticking to the facts? These are questions you must harmonize with in your lifetime. What remains true is your incredibly optimistic outlook and your openness to understanding. These two items are what will carry you through on your journey to personal enlightenment, wherever that journey may go.
SATURN IN THE 3H:Saturn here is a weight placed upon your young shoulders, signalling difficulties in school and conflict with other children. Those younger than you were a burden, a responsibility you did not want, a chore you had to look after and play with. Those older than you were cold, strict, and unloving. If you had brothers and sisters your relationship with your siblings was “limited” or “restricted” in some way, either due to divorce, death, physical separation, or emotional barriers erected between you. If you were an only child growing up you likewise felt lonely being in your family all by yourself. Regardless of whichever category you fall under, you felt isolated, lonesome, and burdened by your solitude. Likewise in school you had problems learning and studying at pace with the other students in class. You may have been mislabelled as stupid or accuse of having a learning difficulty when things took you longer to do. But while getting yourself an education was difficult, it was not because you were unintelligent. In fact, as time would tell, you were actually quite the opposite.Saturn, wherever it is placed, forces you to slow down, set a goal, and work towards it gradually. It is a planet of security and safety, of work ethic and achievement, of being grounded and taking things seriously. Your mind mirrors the way Saturn works. You think very deeply about a limited number of subjects, becoming an expert on a handful of things. On those things you achieve practical intelligence, accumulating a wealth of knowledge that can be put to good use. Contemplative, thoughtful, conscientiousness, and observational – these are the qualities that help you to think deeply and seriously about the world around you. It is true that put off decision making as much as you can, procrastinating to make sure you pick the right one, as if you don’t trust yourself and need to make sure. Insecurity in your own intelligence has forced you to become a hard-lined intellectual (or else, alternatively, to reject intellectualism altogether). And at times, it has cost you. In trying to be realistic, you have become pessimistic. The cold hard facts, so unforgiving and dispassionate, colour your vision in shades of grey. The heart of Saturn in the 3rd House is that when you are exploring, relating to, and engaging with your surrounding environment, you are apprehensive at every moment. Fear is what keeps you quiet with your nose in your studies, ever doubting your own intelligence.
URANUS IN THE 3H:Unlike other people who may use only logic or only emotion to decide what it right and what is true, you are able to blend your thoughts and feelings together. This is the stem from which your insight sprouts its leaves and your creativity blossoms. You emerge with a very different way of processing the world, and end up with a very original personal style at the end of it. You are constantly reorienting your view of the information in front of you, looking at items from every possible angle and dissecting every little thought to its core. You come up with new and enlightened ways of understanding every time you learn something. Every new fact you uncover, every new opinion you discover, every new point of view leads to you drastically change the way you see the world. But your intelligence does come with its own kind of moody eccentricity, as it often does. In early education you sat, slumped in your desk, bored and unable to concentrate. Dry academics left you no room to be creative, no room to add your own unique twist. And purely creative subjects gave you no structure to tear down and change. Uninspired, restless, and wanting more from life, you got distracted easily and struggled to focus in your studies. Having a strong, independent mind and rebellious attitude towards your learning also do not help your relationship with teachers. You got into trouble with authority for what you said and what you thought, especially when you demanded equality, spoke out during class, and tried to shake up your learning environment to make it more interesting. You are always on the lookout for fresh and exciting experiences; your inability to be bored means that you always leap from one interesting discussion to the next. All your life you keep encountering similar struggles when pitted against a person that tells you how to think. But as you get older the tension that exists between you and other people is more to do with your unconventional ideas, “weird” personal tastes, and your failure to focus on one thing at a time.
NEPTUNE IN THE 3H:If you had brothers and sisters growing up it may have been that one of them was a “difficult” child (having some behavioural problem or a disability of some kind). In this case, you had to sacrifice some degree of your own happiness to adjust to them. If you had a sibling which died, you may carry some sort of guilt or responsibility for what happened and how it affected your parents. Alternatively, you may have been separated from your siblings through divorce, physical distance, or emotional severance, forcing you to give up your relationship with them. If you did not have siblings you still shared the loneliness in regards to your peers. Neptune in the 3rd inevitably concludes with personal distance between you and others, as if you are contained within your own personal bubble of fog.In response to this early distance from others your own age, you retreated inward, into the comforting chaos of your own mind. On the outside it seemed as though you were shy when you in class; teachers may have even though you suffered from learning disabilities from the confusing way your mind seemed to work. Others see you as delusional, confused, gullible, easily impressed upon, and unrealistic in your expectations. Some may even accuse you of being mentally unwell or unstable. They see you as far too emotional and not logical enough. Being so empathetic, their words come to you as truth, and you begin to believe them. For much of your life you are pressured to favour hard science, logic, rationality, and dry intellect, and forced to learn and speak the way people think you should. You may even come to worship knowledge and science as if it were an unquestionable religion. But at some point in your life curiosity is bound to overtake to, and you will fall deep into your fascination with spirituality, magic, fantasy, the occult, and other ancient practices. The intellectuals of the world will tell you believe in these things is foolish. But to you and the way you drink in the world, they are as real as anything, and they explain so much.
PLUTO IN THE 3H:You were made for penetrative research and investigation into the unknown, for your mind sneaks into the darkness of a person’s emotional mind and pulls out truths one at a time. You have a knack for sniffing out secrets. Everybody has a sore spot – abuse, trauma, loss, sex, death, births, relationships gone bad. You have a hungry need for knowing the underlying psychology of every person you meet, and you will not rest until you’ve “figured them out”. Often you fall into the trap of thinking people are more deadly, more secretive, and more complex than they actually are. You come at them with invasive questions like a prosecutor examining a criminal, hoping to get everything out of them over the course of your relationship. Your intentions of exposing a person’s worst qualities and darkest secrets right off the bat is a testament not only to your paranoia, but to the negative way in which you view the world.Your mind can turn against you in the way it works sometimes. You may be one of many who suffer from some sort of mental illness or instability, which you know about but try to hide from other people. Intrusive thoughts which are obsessive, anxious, angry, destructive, or sexual turn over in your mind incessantly. Resentment which should have cooled long ago still burns inside of your heart, and you dwell in violent fantasies whenever your darker emotions are stirred. None of these patterns of thought are healthy, nor are they constructive uses for the mind. A surprising way you can turn your outlook around? Travelling. Each trip you take marks a specific turning point in your life. By forcing you out of your comfort zone and surrounding you with new cultures, new foods, new people, and new experiences, your mind can renew itself in a new place. Perhaps you get out of a slump by moving away to a new city and leaving behind an old environment that was detrimental to your mental health. Maybe you revitalize a tired mind by picking up a book or a new area of study, going back to school, or taking a short trip to clear your head.
