Taking a temporary break from posting as I build up my queue again! Been too busy to go and find pieces to post lately and I’ve been stressing myself out rushing to post each day manually. I know I have no obligation to post daily but I do like the consistency!

I’m unable to reply to posts for whatever reason but have a good new year everyone! See you next year!

one of my hobbies is collecting old fantasy paperbacks from library book sales solely for the cover art. i'm honestly a little surprised that i have so few books with wizards on them lol

out of the books i have at the moment, i'm going to pass along stephen hickman's cover art for the spirit ring by lois mcmaster bujold and dean morrissey's cover art for the wood nymph and the cranky saint

These are wonderful! I’ve seen some of Hickman’s works before and have a few on my account now, I honestly can’t find many pictures of the cover art for the last book.

The best I have right now is this image! But I haven’t been able to find the original art outside of the book cover. There honestly isn’t much online about a lot of the books he has illustrated covers for that I can easily find.

Note from Keith: Painting the dragon in this piece was a bigger challenge than I had expected it to be. Anyone who has seen the original piece will see that the dragon is anything but white, as it appears to be in the printed versions. I used just about every color of the rainbow in the shading and highlighting, except white, to give it that magical effect.
