Blackout poem I made

most nights i cannot fall asleep

until the sun rises to tuck me in

and i know that that is silly

but she tells me good morning

with a tender kiss to the forehead

and a gentle look of concern

and i feel like i can breathe

for the first time in hours

she tells me that i am safe now

that i can rest and it will be okay

and she is not always right

sunlight doesn't always mean warmth

but she is trying her best

i can forgive her for that

Be happy for your success

Give you good morning and good night kisses

Be there for you when you’re having a hard time

Not be afraid to argue with you with respect but don’t have a problem to admit when they’re wrong

Protect you

Appreciate what you do for them

Cook for/with you

Cheer you up when you’re down or grumpy

Tolerate your mood swings

Fight for you

See you as a priority, not an option

Fart in front of you or shoot it “in your face” when you’re outside
