It's so weird talking to people who's view of "here's the way life is for everyone" is shattered as soon as they talk to someone with disabilities (physical, mental illness, any). Like you'll say you'll have a problem and instead of helping you they'll argue with you about how you're not actually facing that problem. Like,

Me: Hey, I'm really struggling to find a job and a part of it is my resume. I was depressed & psychotic during highschool so I didn't do anything to gain skills or achievements to put on my resume. I also don't have anyone to put as a reference. What can I do?

Them: You can add your skills, hobbies, clubs you're in, and different volunteer work you've done! You can also get your teacher as a reference.

Me: I already know what to put on a resume, my issue is that I don't have things that I can use. Also, I'm in my mid 20s so I don't know if I can put my highschool teacher as a reference.

Them: Well if you're a part of a church or an activity group, you could add that. Also, think of any projects you've worked on in the past.

Me: I already know you can put these things on a resume. I'm not looking for suggests of things I've already done, I'm looking for what I can do now if I haven't done anything.

Them: There's no way you didn't do anything during highschool?? What about some odd jobs you definitely did for extra money, like babysitting or mowing the lawn?

Me: I spent all of highschool either in modified classes or in bed doing nothing - not even hobbies, what about that do you not understand?

And then you talk to someone who's also disabled and they're like "Here's a bunch of jobs you can do from home that don't pay much but look good on a resume, here's some free online courses that also look good on a resume, here's how you can be making small amounts of money in the meantime, here's some things you can put besides a professional reference, and here are your rights if your future employer tries to take advantage of your disability - which you probably shouldn't tell them about unless you need accommodations."

And suddenly my will to continue trying returns!

I feel like there’s needs to be, like, handbook for authors who post on Ao3 for effective metatext.

By metatext I mean like tagging, summary, and authors notes (especially initial authors notes at the beginning of a fic). The means by which we communicate to our readers what they’re getting into.

Because we kind of all have to learn it by osmosis and there are conventions but nobody’s really taught them at the start, so there’s inconsistencies and misunderstandings or people just not knowing things through no fault of their own.

This ends up breeding frustration and confusion and in the worst cases resentment, hurt, and aggression.

I’m severely tempted to make such a handbook and get it circulating.

I think it would do fandom a lot of good.

I didn’t include Insta just because that feels like an established spot that might skew the results—I wanna know more about the newer/more niche places on the internet (and whether ppl are still primarily on the disaster formally known as Twitter)

They're both easy-going guys with strong convictions. They also both have a bit of a mischievous side with a little bit of naivity and will always go just that little bit extra to make sure everything and everyone turns out okay.

They're also both good cooks and have a best friend named Megumi which I think is really funny.

I'm pretty sure Gojo and Geto are total gossip girls judging from some of the manga panels. I was wondering if you had any headcanons on what they'd gossip about?

Oh DEFINITELY.

They aren't just gossipers though-it's a small school, they can only dig up so much.

NO, these boys are Rumor Starters.

It starts off small, just seeing how fast news can spread, just testing the waters but once they realized just how easy it was, they started pushing each other to see how far and crazy they could get.

Some of their more notable stunts:

Gojo using Infinity to stick himself to the ceiling of Yaga's office and only getting caught because he dozed off and started snoring

Geto using his curses to eavesdrop on the faculty lounge and using them as guard dogs for some of their more nefarious schemes

Explaining what a furry is to Yaga and slowly convincing him that he is one because of his cursed technique. (Yaga ends up having an identity crisis because of this)

Gojo tries to convince everyone that he's taken up smoking. Everyone's too polite to point out that the candy cigarette he's taken to showing off is not convincing or realistic at all

Shoko puts an end to this by goading him into taking a smoke break with her and Gojo immediately confesses after doubling over after just one drag

Someone starts a rumor that Geto and shoko are dating, which the boys immediately regret when it leads to a very uncomfortable school-mandated "safe sex" talk.

They both end up coming out of the closet to put an end to the rumors which leads to an even longer, even MORE uncomfortable sex talk

They convince Nanami that jj tech is opening a new branch in Okinawa and he is being transferred there.
