Pairing: Aged up!Spider x fem!human!reader
Summary: when you get drunk at an Omaticaya party, Spider is all to willing to help you get home safely. He is also willing to help you with something else...
Word count: 5K
Warnings: Aged-up character, NSFW, (slight) begging, fingering, drunk reader, mentions of alcohol
Na'vi dictionary:
tanhĂŹ: star/bioluminescent freckle
kehe: no
sĂŹltsan: good/well done
rutxe: please
irayo: thank you
Tonight, you were celebrating with the Omaticaya. One of the young hunters just finished their iknimaya. It was a time for celebrations. And celebrating you did. You put on your prettiest loincloth and a matching top and paired it with some traditional jewelry. You didn’t dress up for anyone in particular; you just wanted to look pretty. It was a party after all.
Before the party, Kiri helped you painting your stripes back on. It has been a while since you last painted them, and they had faded quite a bit. Just like Spider, you preferred to have stripes over your body. It made you feel more connected to the people and to Eywa. Not to mention the fact that they looked good on you.
Right now, you were dancing with some other girls of the clan. Your bodies moved to the rhythm of the drums, and you sang along to the clan’s traditional songs. Your movements were perfect before. You could follow the movements of the other clan members with grace, earning cheers from the others. It made you feel like you truly belonged to the clan, like you weren’t human for a while. But, as the party progressed, you drank cup after cup. You weren’t planning on getting drunk, but your friends, especially Lo’ak, talked you into drinking with them. That’s how you ended up stumbling around the fire, your movements not as graceful as before.
You kept tumbling into others, earning laughs from most, but some others hissed at you in annoyance. No one really bothered to get you off the dancefloor though, they were too busy with their own celebrations. The world was spinning around you, and you tried to dance again, but you were just twirling around now, making a fool of yourself.
Spider saw it all happen as he stood to the side, sipping from his drink. You were very good friends with him, and he would do anything to protect you. But he couldn’t have protected you from drinking this much. He didn’t even know you were planning on getting drunk tonight. If he knew that, he would have kept a closer eye on you. It was hard for him to watch you stumbling around, barely able to stand on your feet. It was clear that you weren’t just drunk anymore; you were wasted. When you tripped over your feet for the umpteenth time, Spider had had enough. He couldn’t watch you struggle anymore. It was time for you to go home.
He walked over to you and gently took hold of your arm, making sure not to startle you. You were still “dancing” when his strong fingers wrapped around your bicep, making you halt mid-twirl. You tripped over your feet again, but thankfully, Spider quickly wrapped his free arm around your waist and pulled you against him to prevent you from faceplanting on the dirt. ‘Careful, there,’ he said, raising his voice a bit so you could hear him over the music.
You just giggled at his words and placed your hands on his chest to steady yourself. ‘Monkey boy,’ you greeted him as you looked up at him with glossy eyes. Only now did Spider see how flushed your cheeks were and how your hair was messy. You looked like a mess, a cute mess if you asked him.
‘You didn’t tell me you wanted to get drunk tonight,’ he said as he kept a firm grip on your waist. He felt how you were swaying in his arms, trying to hide how dizzy you were. He was sure that if he let you go, you would fall.
‘I didn’t,’ you responded, your words slurred from the alcohol. You kept your hands on his chest to steady yourself. You only now noticed how intoxicated you really were. You could barely stand without his help.
Spider tightened his grip on your waist when you swayed a bit more and he took a mental note to bring you home as soon as possible. ‘Then what happened?’
You just giggled at his question, remembering how you got drunk this night. You were dragged along by Lo’ak who wanted to have a drink with you, but you guys kept talking, making you keep drinking as well. He might have also called you a lightweight, which made you want to prove yourself to him. To prove you weren’t a lightweight and that you could handle your alcohol. Oh, how you were wrong. ‘Lo’ak,’ you simply responded.
Spider’s nostrils flared when you mentioned your friend’s name. He should have expected this. He should have known Lo’ak dragged you into this, just like how he always seemed to drag you into trouble. You were naïve, a bit too naïve for his liking. You could never say no to Lo’ak, which got you caught up in his trouble most of the times. ‘For Eywa’s sake,’ he muttered with a sigh. He made a mental note to talk to Lo’ak about this in the morning.
You just giggled at his response, finding it all very amusing. You wanted to push yourself away from him to continue dancing, for the clan members were now playing your favourite song, but you nearly lost your balance by doing so, making you fall backwards. Spider reacted quickly and pulled you against his chest again. He did not like seeing you this drunk. It worried him.
‘Come on, let’s get you home,’ he said before he started guiding you away from the dancing na’vi. You whined in response and struggled a bit against him, but it was no use. He was much stronger than you and you didn’t exactly have the strength to put up a fight right now.
‘Nooo,’ you whined as you tried to wriggle out of his grip, which only resulted in Spider dragging you along with him. ‘Y/n,’ he said firmly. ‘You’re drunk. You can barely even stand on your own, let alone dance. I’m taking you home.’
You sighed dramatically at his firm words. You just wanted to dance to your favourite song, and you didn’t understand why Spider wouldn’t let you stay for just five more minutes. ‘You’re drunk yourself,’ you retorted, rolling your eyes at him.
Spider only scoffed at your childish behaviour as he continued guiding you away from the party. He had to keep his arm around you to help you keep your balance. He wasn’t drunk, unlike you said. He did drink a bit tonight, but just enough to get him a bit tipsy. He could easily keep his balance and think straight. The only thing was that his mind was a bit fuzzy and that he had less of a filter.
The walk home took longer than it ever had. You kept stumbling over your feet and you kept getting distracted by the bioluminescent plants and animals around you. You were acting like you were seeing this all for the first time. Spider had to admit that he found your curious and free-spirited behaviour adorable, but he forced himself on the task at hand: to get you back to the lab safely.
Once you reached the lab, Spider helped you to your bedroom. He guided you toward your bed and sat you down on the edge. As soon as your bum touched the bed, you fell backward and sprawled out your limbs, laying down like a starfish. ‘Everything’s spinning,’ you mumbled as you stared up at the ceiling. You weren’t used to being so drunk. You’ve never actually been drunk at all.
In the meantime, Spider walked over to your closet and rummaged through all your clothes, searching for something comfortable to wear. He knew you never liked wearing a loincloth to bed. You never wanted clothes that had been outside to touch your clean bed. He never understood why, but he knew better than to argue with you.
‘Yeah?’ he responded in amusement. He pushed away some clothes, but only found tops and loincloths, no shirts or pants at all. Where did you keep those things?
You giggled in response and nodded, not realizing he couldn’t see it from the other end of your room. ‘It feels like I’m on a rollercoaster,’ you said with a huge grin on your face. Being drunk was actually kind of fun.
‘How do you know?’ Spider asked as he squatted down in front of your closet now, looking on one of the lower planks. ‘You’ve never been on a rollercoaster before.’
You giggled once more at his words, knowing he was right. You grew up on Pandora, just like him. You had never been on a rollercoaster or been to an amusement park at all. You wondered what rollercoasters were like. ‘No,’ you responded simply.
Just then, Spider found a black shirt, one of your panties and some sweatpants. He walked over to you, carrying your clothes. ‘Can you sit up for me?’ he asked as he put the clothes next to you on the bed. He hoped you were able to get changed yourself, but judging from your reaction, you weren’t.
You groaned at his question and rolled over onto your belly. ‘Don’t wanna,’ you whined. ‘’M tired.’
Spider only sighed at this and gently placed a hand on your hip before he gently rolled you onto your back again. ‘You’re gonna have to, sweetheart,’ he said gently. ‘You don’t want to sleep in those dirty clothes, right?’
He knew he got you with that question. He knew how dirty you found your loincloths, and he felt a bit of triumph when you pushed yourself into a seated position. You grumbled as you did, but Spider ignored it. He was glad you listened to him. It made this all a bit easier for him.
He reached for the shirt and handed it to you. ‘I grabbed you something comfortable. Just put this on, okay?’ he asked as you took the shirt from him. You looked at it for a while before you sighed. ‘Too tired,’ you whined. ‘Don’t wanna.’
Spider sighed and ran his hand through his dreads. He didn’t like where this was going. Yes, he would help you get dressed if you needed it, and no, he wouldn’t mind seeing you naked, but he just wished it would be under different circumstances. ‘Do you want me to help you?’ he asked, trying to keep his voice steady.
You kept staring at your shirt, already feeling exhausted just from thinking about getting changed. You just wanted to lay down. After a couple of seconds, you simply nodded, silently telling him you wanted his help with getting dressed.
Spider felt his heart skip a beat when you nodded. He never expected you to say yes. You, the most stubborn girl he ever met, wanted his help to get you dressed. He could feel his hands getting a bit sweaty and his heart picking up its pace. He had to tell himself he was only helping you by doing this and he had to take a deep breath to steady himself before he reached for your top. He slowly pulled it over your head and desperately tried to keep his gaze on your face. He didn’t want to take advantage of the situation and look down, even though it was very tempting. The thought of your bare chest right in front of him was doing things to him. Things he desperately fought against.
He quickly slipped the shirt over your face and let out a soft breath of relief when your torso was covered again. He felt glad that he didn’t look down, even though he wanted to so badly. He then looked down at your loincloth and mentally cursed himself for proposing to help you. ‘You’re gonna have to help me with your loincloth, okay?’ he said with a slight tremble in his voice. He couldn’t deny that it was very exciting to see you naked, but he knew it was wrong. You were drunk and he would take advantage of you if he didn’t do this for the sake of helping you.
You nodded lazily at his words, but you didn’t bother to move your body. You didn’t understand what he wanted your help with, so you just sat there with half-lidded eyes. Spider noticed this and sighed before he slowly reached for the ties on your hips. ‘I’m gonna untie your loincloth now, is that okay?’ he asked softly. He didn’t want you to feel uncomfortable in any way or for you to think he was doing something else than helping you.
You nodded lazily again and allowed Spider to untie your loincloth for you. His trembling fingers brushed against your hips a couple of times, making you shiver. His fingers felt hot against your skin, sending waves of heat down your body.
After Spider untied your loincloth, he wrapped his arms around you to get you up on your feet, allowing your loincloth to fall on the ground, leaving your underside completely bare. The air felt cool against your hot folds, and you only now noticed how wet you were. You wrapped your arms around his neck when Spider pulled you on your feet, feeling too dizzy to stand on your own. You rested your head in the crook of his neck and took a deep breath as you focused on the cool air against your wetness while taking in his scent. He smelled musky, like the forest. ‘You smell good,’ you murmured against his skin.
Spider felt your hot breath tickling his neck, leaving goosebumps on his skin. He took in a sharp breath to calm his racing heart. He had to distract himself from the fact that your underside was completely naked now. His hands slid down to your waist, and he had to refrain himself from sliding his hands under your shirt. Eywa, he wished you weren’t drunk right now. He didn’t want to take advantage of you, but it was getting harder to refrain himself. For so many years he’s been in love with you. For so many years he dreamt of you being so close to him, but you only saw him as a friend. At least, that’s what he thought. In reality, it was the exact opposite. You thought he only wanted to be friends, while you had the biggest crush on him.
He ignored your comment about his smell and took your panties from the bed before he squatted down in front of you, making you tumble forward slightly. He immediately placed his hands on your hips to prevent you from falling over and clenched his jaw when he realized how close he was to your thighs. He had to swallow down the lump that formed in his throat. Oh, how tempted he was to lean in just a little closer…
You placed your hands on his shoulders and held him tightly to keep your balance. You noticed how close his face was to your private area and you felt a wave of heat go down to your core. ‘Spider,’ you mumbled as you tightened your grip on his shoulders.
Spider was already holding up your panties and helping you lift one of your legs to slide them on, when you spoke his name. He hummed in response, curious about what you were going to blurt out now.
‘I’m wet,’ you simply said, not noticing the weight of what you said. Spider was just about to help your other leg into your panties when you spoke, making him stop dead in his tracks. His eyes widened when he processed what you just said, and he felt his throat turning dry. He let out a shaky breath before he spoke.
‘Y-you’re what?’ he asked with a trembling voice. He slowly lifted his gaze from the panties in his hands to your face. Did he hear that right? Did you just say… You sighed and remained quiet as you lifted your leg for him to pull your panties up. The movement caught his attention, and he quickly slipped your panties over your foot, but he didn’t pull them up all the way to your hips. ‘What did you just say?’ he asked again, almost feeling like, and hoping, that he misheard you.
‘I’m wet,’ you repeated yourself with a soft giggle. ‘’M feeling butterflies in my vagina.’
Spider almost choked on his saliva when you said those last words. So, he did hear you right. For Eywa’s sake, could you make this any more difficult for him? ‘You’re just drunk,’ he said as he quickly pulled your panties all the way up, making sure he kept his gaze averted. He didn’t want to make this any more difficult for him than it already was.
He then grabbed your sweatpants and held them in front of you, but this time, you saw what he was holding, making you groan. ‘No, sweats,’ you mumbled. ‘Too hot…’
Spider sighed and looked up at you. As soon as he did, his breath caught in his throat. You were looking down at him with half lidded, glazy, but also needy eyes. Your hair was messy from the party, hanging around your face, almost hiding your flushed cheeks, but not quite. Your lips were slightly parted, and Spider noticed how kissable they looked. He quickly averted his gaze back to the sweatpants in his hands. He couldn’t allow his desires to win. That would not be fair towards you.
‘You don’t have anything else to wear,’ he said as he kept his gaze down. He knew that if he looked at you, he would lose his mind.
‘Then, I’ll wear nothing,’ you mumbled as you allowed yourself to fall backwards, down onto the bed again. Spider watched you from his crouched position and mentally scolded himself for glancing down at your clothed cunt. You were sprawled out so perfectly for him. But he wouldn’t, no, he couldn’t take advantage of you. He sighed and dropped the sweatpants before he pulled you further on your bed and tucked you in, draping the covers up to your shoulders.
He thought you were already asleep for you weren’t moving, but as soon as he started to walk away, you spoke up. ‘Stay,’ you mumbled pleadingly. ‘I’m scared I’ll get sick.’
Your words made Spider feel a wave of protectiveness toward you. How could he say no to you? Especially when you were tucked in so comfortably, looking cute all cuddled up under your blanket. He sighed and nodded, even though you couldn’t see it with your eyes closed. ‘Alright, I’ll stay,’ he said softly before he turned off the lights and crawled in bed next to you.
It felt weird for him to lay down in your bed, but he couldn’t deny that it warmed his heart too, being so close to you. For years he’s wanted to be this close to you, but he never got the chance. Now he did, and he couldn’t do what he always wanted to: to hold you and kiss you.
As soon as Spider laid down, you shifted closer to him, pressing your back against his chest. ‘Hold me?’ you mumbled sleepily.
Spider’s breath caught in his throat when you shifted closer. He could feel the warmth of your skin radiating through your shirt, onto his bare chest. It made him want to hold you even more. He swallowed hard and hesitantly draped his arm over you, resting his hand on the mattress right next to you. He was going to touch you as little as possible, afraid he would otherwise be crossing a line he didn’t want to cross.
You hummed in contentment when he draped his arm over you. You didn’t mind that he was laying behind you awkwardly. You only thought about how you wanted his presence. How you were afraid of getting sick, but also by how you wanted to be closer to him. You felt that throbbing between your legs again and this time, you whined softly. ‘Spider,’ you mumbled as you shifted closer to him. ‘’M wet.’
Spider sighed in response to your words and moved a bit further away from you, desperate to keep some distance between you. ‘Go to sleep, y/n,’ he said gently, knowing it was best to ignore your whines.
‘But I’m wet,’ you said again as you shifted closer to him once more, decreasing the distance he just created. ‘Wanna feel?’
This time, Spider actually choked on his spit. He coughed a little and clenched the hand that was lying next to you into a tight fist. Oh, how much he wanted to say yes and give in to his desires. But your friendship was more important to him. ‘No, sweetheart. Just go to sleep,’ he managed to say in a strained voice.
You sighed and took hold of his fist and brought it up to your chest, deciding to just hold him instead. You closed your eyes and tried to focus on falling asleep, but sleep wouldn’t come. You were just too horny, the throbbing between your legs only intensified. You knew you couldn’t fall asleep like this, not until you found some release, so you started rubbing your thighs together in hopes of creating some friction.
Your thigh rubbing eased some of your ache, but not a lot. It felt good the first few seconds, but later, you craved more. You craved the boy behind you. That’s how you decided to push his hand that you were holding down to your panties.
Spider couldn’t sleep either. His mind kept replaying your words over and over again. I’m wet. Wanna feel? Eywa, he wanted to say yes. He wanted to feel how wet you were, he wanted to feel all of you. He was too caught up in his thoughts to feel you sliding his hand down to your panties. His hand was already in, touching the soft flesh underneath, when he realized what was happening.
His eyes widened and he immediately tensed when he realized what you were doing. ‘Y/n-‘ he started warningly. He couldn’t allow this to happen, could he? He would be a terrible friend if he took advantage of you in this moment.
‘’M sorry, Miles,’ you mumbled, using his given name. You barely used it, knowing he didn’t like it when people called him that, but you couldn’t help it. It just slipped. ‘I can’t… I need you…’
Spider wanted to protest, to tell you to not call him by his given name, but something about the way you said it stopped him. Your sweet, sweet voice made it sound so… He couldn’t even continue that thought when he felt you pushing his fingers against your wet folds. His eyes widened even further when he felt how hot and wet you were.
Spider’s heart started beating twice as fast and he could feel his own body starting to respond now. His dick was getting harder in his loincloth and the way your ass was pressed against him didn’t make it any easier for him to stop it. ‘Tanhì,’ he started, his voice strained as he tried to keep his desires in check. He wanted to protest, but nothing else came out. The way you pushed his fingers against your soaked pussy made all his willpower vanish into thin air. Maybe he should just let this happen. Or would that be a bad idea? Probably.
‘Miles,’ you whined in response as you pushed one of his fingers inside of you. It slipped past your wet folds with ease, making you moan in pleasure. Your walls immediately clenched around him, almost sucking him in with a need you never felt before.
Spider’s breath hitched in his throat when he felt your walls clench around his finger. He knew this was wrong. It was so, so wrong. But the way your pussy gripped onto him, almost begging to be touched, made his already painfully hard cock throb in his loincloth. ‘Kehe,’ he murmured weakly. ‘You’re drunk, tahnì.’
You sighed at your friend’s reluctance to touch you. You knew it was wrong to just push his finger inside of you, but he wasn’t struggling. So, your drunk mind didn’t think he’d be against it. ‘Rutxe,’ you pleaded as you slowly started grinding your hips against his hand, allowing his finger to go deeper inside your soaked cunt.
In response, Spider tried to pull his hand away, but by doing so he accidentally hooked his finger, making him hit your most sensitive spot. The touch sent shockwaves through your spine, down to your core. You titled your head back and closed your eyes as you continued riding his finger.
‘Y/n,’ Spider warned again, but his voice was strained. He was having difficulty keeping himself together. He wanted to touch you, to taste you, but he couldn’t. The fact that you were riding his finger right now didn’t make it any easier. Hell, it was pure torture.
‘Please, Miles,’ you whined again. You needed more. More of him. More of his touch. You wanted to cum around his fingers. And so, you rolled your hips even more desperately against his hand, making you moan in pleasure. ‘Feel so good,’ you murmured as you threw your head back again, resting it against Spider’s chest.
Spider let out a frustrated groan. He hated how you put him in this position where he had to resist you. ‘Fuck,’ he muttered under his breath. He really had no choice now, did he? He sighed and shifted his hand a bit, making it easier for you to ride him. ‘Fine, but you’ll only ride my hand, okay? Nothing else.’
An excited smile appeared on your face when he gave you permission to continue riding him. You didn’t wait a second longer and picked up your pace, pushing your hips further on his finger. ‘Irayo,’ murmured breathlessly as you gripped the blankets tightly. The pleasure was slowly building up in your core, but it wasn’t enough to make you cum yet. You needed more.
‘More,’ you breathed out as your movements became a little more desperate. One finger wasn’t enough. You needed more of him. ‘Rutxe.’
Spider allowed you to ride in the exact pace you wanted. He wasn’t going to help you. He would only let you do the work so you couldn’t blame him in the morning if you could even remember this. ‘More what?’ he asked huskily. ‘You have to be clear, princess.’
His words combined with his husky tone made you moan again, and your walls tighten around his finger. ‘Fingers,’ you breathed out. ‘Please, more.’
Your ragged breathing combined with your pleas for more were like a drug to him. His loincloth was straining his painfully hard dick and he fought against the urge to grind against your ass that was positioned so perfectly for him. Spider let out a low groan before he slowly dipped another finger inside your drenched pussy, making you gasp at the way your walls stretched out for him. The pleasure intensified now that you had two fingers to grind on. Two fingers that rubbed your g-spot over and over again.
‘This better, sweetheart?’ he whispered in your ear, his hot breath fanning your hot skin. The sensation of his breath against your ear made you shiver, and goosebumps appear on your smooth skin.
‘Yes,’ you breathed out as you continued humping against his fingers, bringing you closer and closer to the edge.
Spider could feel your walls clenching around him, how your body was begging for release. ‘Keep going, baby,’ he murmured as he leaned in closer to your neck. ‘I can feel you’re close. Just keep going for me.’
Your breathing became ragged at his words and your eyes nearly rolled to the back of your head when he hooked his fingers into you, making them hit your g-spot again. ‘F-Fuck… S-Spider…’ you whimpered. Your grip on the blankets became so tight that your knuckles turned white. The pleasure was almost unbearable, and you could feel your walls clenching and unclenching around him, signalling that you were getting closer to your release.
Spider let out a low groan again when you whimpered his name. The way his name rolled of your tongue, so effortlessly, almost made him dig his fingers deeper inside of you. But he held back, remembering his earlier words. You were only allowed to ride him; he wouldn’t do anything. ‘That’s it, sweetheart. Come for me. I want you to come all over my fingers, can you do that for me?’
‘Yes,’ you said with a moan. You rocked your hips even more desperately now, feeling a familiar knot forming in your core. You were close, so close. Just a little more- and when Spider hooked his fingers once more, you tumbled over the edge. You threw your head back in pleasure, resting it against his chest as you let out an almost pornographic moan while riding out your high.
Spider felt you creaming around his fingers, your walls convulsing around him. It felt even better than he ever imagined. ‘That’s it. Good girl,’ he murmured against your neck while you rode out your high.
After you came down from you high, your body relaxed against him with deep, content sigh. Your body was exhausted from the constant humping, and the alcohol in your system didn’t help either. You felt your eyes getting heavy and barely noticed how Spider pulled his fingers out of your sensitive cunt.
Spider’s fingers were drenched, and he wiped them off on his loincloth before he draped his arm over you again, pulling your tired body against his chest. ‘Feeling better, darling?’ he asked as he made himself comfortable next to you.
You hummed and nodded in response to his question. Your climax was so intense that it felt like you just squirted out your soul. Your eyelids grew heavy, and you allowed them to close as you nuzzled yourself against Spider.
‘Sìltsan,’ he whispered before he placed a gentle kiss to the top of your head. ‘Now go to sleep. I’ll be here when you wake up.’
You barely registered his words, but you knew what he meant. He would stay with you. You knew it. With him in mind and the way his fingers felt inside of you, you fell into a deep slumber.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You were Neteyam’s girlfriend. You haven’t been dating for long, maybe for around a month or two. Everything was quite new to the two of you, especially since you weren’t the same species. Neteyam was na’vi and you were human, although you did have an avatar. Today, the two of you had planned a date. A picnic. It was actually your idea. Neteyam was not familiar with the concept of a picnic, so you decided to give him the best picnic experience ever.
The morning of your date, you had baked chocolate chip cookies, banana bread, vanilla muffins and apple pie. Neteyam had never tasted human pastries before, so you promised to make him some. In return, Neteyam had gathered the most delicious fruits of Pandora. One of them being Utumauti, or banana fruit. It is very difficult to find. When found, it often gets offered to a loved one, hence why Neteyam brought it to the picnic.
You had gathered a blanket and the pastries you made in a basket before going into your avatar body. You met Neteyam outside the lab, for he wasn’t very comfortable going in there. To him it was all too white and small and smelled like chemicals. You had picked your best outfit for the date: you were wearing a top made of red feathers and wore a matching red loincloth. You had paired it with an armband Neteyam made for you a while ago. It was made of leather and was woven in a beautiful pattern. A small, yellow feather was attached to it, standing out against your avatar’s blue skin.
When you walked outside, holding the basket in your hand, Neteyam’s ears perked up and his tail flicked behind him in excitement. He looked you up and down, taking in your appearance. He loved how you dressed up for their date. ‘Hello, sevin,’ he said, his voice soft and tender. He had a smile on his face, showing how happy he was to see you, his beautiful girlfriend, in your avatar body again.
‘Hello, yawne,’ you responded as you halted in front of him. You raised on your heels and pecked his lips. Even though you were in your avatar body, he was still a head taller than you. Neteyam returned the kiss with a smile as he placed his hands on your waist. ‘Are you ready for our date?’ you asked as you lowered back on your feet. Neteyam hummed as he took the basket from you, curious what was inside.
‘I am,’ he said with a smile. ‘What have you got in here?’ he asked as he opened the basket, only for you to pull it back from him. ‘It’s a surprise,’ you said with a grin. You knew he had never had human pastries before, and you were dying to see his reaction to your baking skills.
Neteyam rolled his eyes and smiled. He found your stubbornness endearing. ‘A surprise, huh?’ he asked as he took your hand in his, guiding you toward the picnic spot.
‘Yes,’ you responded as you skipped through the forest. Your excitement was bubbling up inside of you; it’s been years since you last went on a picnic, and you couldn’t wait to give Neteyam this wonderful experience. There was still so much to learn about each other’s cultures, and you and Neteyam taught each other new things every day. Today it was a picnic. ‘A surprise. Which means you have to keep your hands out of my basket,’ you continued playfully, earning a chuckle from Neteyam.
‘Alright, I won’t pry through your basket,’ he agreed with a smile. ‘But that means you have to keep your little fingers to yourself, too.’ You had noticed the bag he carried with him, and you knew he probably had the most delicious food in there. You were desperate to taste his people’s delicacies, but you knew it would be unfair if you pried in his bag after you told him not to be too curious himself.
You groaned in response but couldn’t help but smile. ‘Fair enough.’
Not long after, the two of you reached a clearing in the forest. As soon as your feet touched the soft grass, you gasped. The sight in front of you was even more beautiful than you’d ever imagined. In front of you was a waterfall, leading up to a large river. There were trees scattered along the river and the sounds of birds could be heard together with the rippling water. A little further away, the sounds of pa’li grazing filled your ears. You couldn’t see them from here, but you could hear them, thanks to the avatar’s ears. Your ears perked up at all the sounds around you, earning a soft chuckle from Neteyam as he continued guiding you to the river. He halted a couple of feet away before placing his bag on the grass. You pulled the blanket out of the basket and sprawled it on the ground. It was a large blanket which was bigger than your bed, but when you and Neteyam sat down on it, it seemed to be smaller than you had anticipated, making you giggle.
‘We can always just sit on the grass,’ Neteyam proposed as he looked at how your bodies barely fit on the blanket. Most of your legs were sprawled on the grass and there was barely any room left on the blanket, meaning you had to place your food on the grass.
You shot Neteyam a defiant look. ‘No,’ you said stubbornly. ‘We picnic on a blanket, not on the grass.’ You knew Neteyam didn’t mind sitting on the grass, and you normally didn’t mind either, except for today. You wanted to give him the human picnic experience, which meant you sat on a blanket, whether it was too small for your na’vi bodies or not.
Neteyam chuckled at your stubbornness and rolled his eyes. ‘Why are you humans so afraid to get dirty?’ he asked as he leaned on his hands by placing them behind him, making his shoulders and triceps pop out. You eyed his strong muscles and felt your tail swishing behind you in excitement. You still weren’t very used to your na’vi body; you didn’t have a lot of control over your tail and ears yet. You noticed Neteyam’s eyes flicker to your tail and watched how he smirked. He was fully aware of the effect he had on you.
‘We’re not afraid to get dirty,’ you defended yourself as you forced your eyes up to his face. Your gazes met and you felt her heart flutter. Even though you two have been dating for a while now, Neteyam could still make you nervous just by looking into your eyes. ‘We just don’t want all sorts of insects on our food.’
Neteyam smirked at your comment and scoffed slightly. ‘You humans are such germophobes,’ he said amusedly. He then reached for his bag and pulled out three types of fruit: berries from the celia tree, or tumpasuk as the na’vi call it, tendrils from the squid fruit tree, or fyìpmaut, and last but not least, banana fruit, or Utumauti. This fruit is very rare to find, and when found, it is seen as a gift from Eywa. It is offered to a loved one, who has to decline the fruit, for it is considered rude to accept the offer.
You gasped when you saw the banana fruit and a bright smile appeared on your face. ‘You found banana fruit,’ you said excitedly. You were aware of the traditions around the fruit, and you knew it was very special to find one. ‘I am so happy for you, yawne.’
Neteyam smiled proudly when you addressed the fruit and handed a piece to you. ‘Thank you, tanhì. I want to share this with you.’
You knew that the na’vi offered this fruit out of politeness, and that it was considered rude to accept the offer. You gently pushed his hand away and shook your head. ‘No, no, no,’ you said softly. ‘You eat it.’
Your gesture warmed Neteyam’s heart, and he knew you were trying to be polite. ‘You don’t have to be so polite,’ he said tenderly. ‘I want to share this with you. I really do.’
Your eyes were fixed on the fruit in Neteyam’s hand. It did look delicious, and you were very curious what it tasted like. ‘But I’m not allowed to take it,’ you said as you looked back up at him, your gaze a little uncertain.
Neteyam smiled at your manners. He loved how you took his culture into consideration. You had picked up a lot on his culture, but there was still much for you to learn. He shook his head and reached his hand to you again, offering the fruit once more. ‘It’s okay, y/n,’ he said amusedly. ‘You can take it. It’s not rude. I’m sharing this with you.’
His words made a warm feeling spread through your body for you were very touched by his offer. You gently took it from his hand, your tail swishing behind you in anticipation, showing how excited you were to taste the infamous banana fruit. ‘Irayo,’ you said gratefully. You then took a small bite and your ears perked up when the flavours erupted on your tongue. It was very sweet and not comparable to anything you ever tasted before. It didn’t taste like a banana, it tasted more like a peach, but it had a hint of blueberries, too. The flavour was hard to describe.
Neteyam took a bite himself and watched you eating the fruit he gave you, a small smile plastered on his lips. He appreciated your concern for his culture, but you were allowed to take the offer, especially since he wanted to share it so much with you. ‘Do you like it?’ he asked as he watched you munch on the fruit, the juice dripping down your chin. The sight was adorable to see. He had never seen you eating like this before, and he considered it a sign you were comfortable with him.
You hummed and wiped the juice off your chin before you responded. ‘It’s delicious,’ you said enthusiastically. The two of you ate the fruit in comfortable silence, both of you enjoying the sweet flavour and the moment of peace. After you finished the banana fruit, you reached into the basket and pulled out your pastries. You noticed Neteyam eyeing the treats curiously. He had never seen anything like it before. His ears perked up and his tail swished behind him in anticipation as he patiently waited for you to lay out the treats.
You handed him a piece of banana bread first. The slice was firm but soft and it smelled delicious. The smell was even stronger now that you were in your avatar for this body had stronger senses, including the sense of smell. You watched how Neteyam turned the banana bread in his hand, eyeing it curiously as he did. ‘It’s called “banana bread”,’ you explained, using the English word for “banana bread”.
‘Banana?’ Neteyam repeated softly, his accent making the word sound funny. Your heart warmed at his attempt of pronouncing the English word. You knew Neteyam had probably never heard of it before. His way of pronouncing it made you giggle ever so slightly. It sounded adorable.
‘Banana,’ you repeated clearly. Neteyam smiled and repeated the word again, this time a little better but still with a thick accent, before he took a small bite. He chewed on it for a while before his eyes widened and a smile appeared on his face. He quickly took another bite and hummed contently.
You giggled at the sight of him enjoying the banana bread. You weren’t too good at baking, but you could feel a bit of pride well up in your chest, knowing he liked what you had made for him. ‘Do you like it?’ you asked excitedly.
Neteyam hummed as he put the last piece of his slice in his mouth. ‘It’s delicious,’ he murmured after he swallowed down his bite. ‘You should make this more often. I’m sure my family will like it, too.’
The thought of sharing these pastries with his family warmed your heart. You knew Jake would be familiar with most of the pastries you made, but the rest of his family probably wouldn’t. You wondered what they would think of it, and the thought of sharing things like self-made cinnamon rolls and banana bread with them made you feel warm inside.
You and Neteyam shared more food together and you talked about everything that came to mind. After a while, Neteyam noticed a herd of pa’li coming closer to the water. You were too busy eating your chocolate chip cookie to notice the horses silently walking toward the lake in front of you. It was only when Neteyam nudged your side and pointed at the herd that you saw the beautiful creatures. You gasped softly when you saw a small herd standing at the lake, drinking water. You could see a foal among them, standing close to its mother and it made a wide smile appear on your face.
‘Oh my gosh, look,’ you whispered as you pointed at the foal. Neteyam’s ears perked up when he heard your enthusiastic tone. He thought you were adorable when you got so excited over the simplest things like the animals here. He knew you loved horses. You told him you used to ride horses on earth, and even showed him a picture of a horse. He found it looked odd; earth horses are so small and have so much hair. They don’t look like pa’li at all. ‘Do you want to ride one?’ you asked, making Neteyam snap out of his thoughts.
‘What?’ he asked dumbfounded. You smiled at his question and only now did you tear your gaze away from the horses to look at your boyfriend, your tail tapping on the ground in excitement.
‘I asked if you want to ride one with me?’ you asked excitedly. Your question made Neteyam’s ears pin back ever so slightly and his tail swayed over the grass slowly. You wanted to ride a horse. A pa’li. A four meters high horse. You were only a small, fragile girl, despite being in an avatar body. You had never ridden a pa’li before. You would fall off. And die.
‘Absolutely not,’ he responded firmly. He wasn’t going to risk your life. He saw it disappointed you; the corners of your mouth turned down and your shoulders slumped ever so slightly. It was a very small sign that most people wouldn’t even notice, but he had studied you for long enough for him to notice it with ease.
‘Why not?’ you asked disappointedly. You didn’t understand why he wouldn’t let you ride a horse. You were an experienced equestrian on earth. You knew that riding direhorses was a lot different from riding horses on earth, but a horse was a horse, right?
Neteyam sighed at your disappointed look. He knew you loved riding horses, but he would never allow you to ride a pa’li. ‘Because it’s dangerous,’ he retorted sternly. ‘They’re too big and too fast for you.’
‘I have a good seat,’ you said stubbornly as you crossed your arms over your chest. ‘I won’t fall off.’
Neteyam’s ears turned downward at your stubborn comment. He knew you wouldn’t take no for an answer. You were too stubborn for that. ‘You have never ridden one,’ he retorted. ‘You haven’t even formed tsaheylu yet.’
You ran your hand through your long, dark hair, a bit annoyed by your boyfriend’s caring nature. He was too worried about you. You rode his ikran, Seze, with him before. You could have fallen off at a great height then, but you didn’t fall off either. How was this any different? You placed your hands on top of his and gave him a pleading look. ‘Then teach me. Please.’
Neteyam didn’t like the sound of it at all, but when you placed your small hands on top of his, he felt his restraint slowly slipping away. How could he say no to his beautiful girlfriend? His beautiful girlfriend that was practically begging him to ride a horse. He glanced at your hands on top of his. You have been dating for a while now, but seeing your small hands on top of his always did something to him. It reminded him of how small and fragile you were, no matter if you were in your avatar or in your human body. It reminded him of how much he wanted to protect you and take care of you. Of how much he wanted to give you the world. Neteyam sighed and looked back up at you, meeting your eyes as he did. ‘Fine,’ he said, finally giving into you, albeit a bit reluctant. ‘But you have to listen to everything I say.’
Your face lit up at his words. You couldn’t believe it would be this easy to persuade him. ‘Thank you, thank you, thank you!’ you said excitedly before lifting yourself on your knees to place a kiss to his lips. ‘You’re the best, ‘Teyam.’
Your excitement combined with your words made his heart flutter and Neteyam couldn’t help but chuckle. ‘Everything for you, yawne,’ he muttered with a smile. He then stood up and extended his hand for you to take. ‘Let’s find you a horse.’
You couldn’t conceal your excitement and gladly placed your hand in his. He hoisted you up with ease and together you walked to the herd. You looked at each horse individually to try and find one that looked calm. You knew you were taking a risk by riding a horse that was as big as an elephant, but you loved the thrill, and you missed riding horses.
‘How about that one?’ Neteyam asked as he pointed at a smaller horse. You looked over at the horse and saw how it was still big, but not as big as the other ones. It was probably still a young horse, but definitely not a foal anymore. You nodded, thinking that would be a good choice. ‘That one is perfect,’ you responded.
The two of you made your way over to the smaller horse, and when you tried to let go of your boyfriend’s hand, he gripped you even tighter. It made you smile and roll your eyes; he was too protective of you. But you didn’t mind. In fact, you thought it was endearing. You held his hand tightly as you slowly neared the horse. It extended its neck toward you, sniffing the air. You wanted to make sure it knew you weren’t a threat and extended your hand to it, allowing it to take in your scent.
The horse sniffed the air, and hesitantly took a step closer. When you didn’t move, it took another step closer and touched your hand with its nose. It made you smile, but you didn’t move any further. You didn’t want to make any unexpected movements. You wanted to be sure the horse trusted you. When it didn’t move away, you slowly moved your hand up and placed it on its nose. The horse didn’t back away, which was a good sign. You then started stroking it slowly and smiled when the horse seemed to lean into your touch.
Even Neteyam smiled. He had seen you interact with the clan’s horses before, but never with a wild one. He didn’t know you were this good with those animals. ‘It seems to trust you,’ he said softly as he saw the horse allowed you to get closer. You were now moving your hand up its head, toward its neck. You wanted to be sure it was used to your touch and comfortable with you before you got on. You wanted the ride to be fun for the horse as well.
As you moved your hand further up the horse’s body, toward it’s back, you saw it was still comfortable. ‘Seems like it,’ you responded as you eyed the horse carefully. It was really high, and you wouldn’t be able to mount it without Neteyam’s help.
After a while, the horse seemed to trust you enough to let you ride it. Neteyam used his free hand to grab one of the horse’s tendrils and extended it to you. ‘You may form tsaheylu now,’ he said gently. Your heart fluttered when he said those words. You had never formed tsaheylu before and you were dying to find out what it felt like. You nodded and slowly reached for your kuru. You reached it toward the horse’s tendril and slowly and gently formed the bond. The horse neighed at the sudden sensation, and you felt a wave of unknown sensations run down your body. You closed your eyes for a second and focused on what you felt. You could feel the horse’s breath, as if the two of you were breathing in unison. You could feel everything the horse felt. From its strong legs to the sensations of the flies on its skin. You could smell everything it smelt; you could hear everything it heard. It was a sensation unlike anything you ever felt before.
You opened your eyes again and looked at your boyfriend, who was holding the horse gently, keeping it calm. ‘Take a deep breath, y/n,’ Neteyam said as he patted the horse’s flank. ‘You have to be calm if you want to ride.’
You nodded and closed your eyes again as you took a deep breath. You felt your heart rate slowing down, and so did the horse’s. It stood still now, like it actually calmed down. You opened your eyes again and saw how the horse seemed visibly relaxed. It had its head down and pressed against Neteyam’s chest, who was petting it gently.
‘Siltsan,’ he said softly before he slowly moved away from the horse’s head, and toward you. You looked from the horse to your boyfriend, who moved behind you and placed his hands on your hips. ‘Are you ready?’ he asked as he leaned down to whisper in your ear, sending waves of electricity down your spine.
You couldn’t speak, feeling too flustered by Neteyam’s hands on your hips and his breath fanning your ear. Instead, you nodded and placed your hands on the horse’s back, only for Neteyam to lift you up into the air and sit you down on the horse’s back. You were used to riding horses on earth, but this was a whole new experience for you. The horse wasn’t covered in hair, like the horses you used to ride were. This horse had scales which felt cool against your bare legs.
Neteyam placed your hands on the horse, before he spoke. ‘You may tell him what to do. From inside,’ he said as he pointed at his head. You felt excitement bubble up inside of you and you took a deep breath before you told the horse to walk. To your surprise, it did exactly what you asked. It stepped forward in a calm and collected walk. You couldn’t help but laugh at this and looked back at Neteyam who walked next to you with a proud smile on his face.
‘I’m doing it, Teyam!’ you said excitedly, earning a soft chuckle from him.
‘You are, tanhì,’ he responded proudly. His ears perked forward, and his eyes widened slightly when he saw you beginning to trot. He was surprised to see how well your seat was; you didn’t look like you struggled to keep your balance at all. So, you didn’t lie when you said you used to ride horses earlier. Not that he ever thought you would lie to him. He was just surprised is all.
‘Careful there,’ he warned as you started a small canter, making the horse run around Neteyam.
‘No,’ you responded stubbornly before you asked the horse to go faster. Neteyam sighed and ran a hand through his braids. Eywa, you were stubborn. You were going to get herself killed someday if you kept acting like this. ‘At least let me ride with you!’ Neteyam protested as he swiftly walked up to another horse. He quickly formed tsaheylu and jumped on its back. He saw you already galloping past the river, making his heart drop to his stomach. Did you have any idea how dangerous this was? These horses were much bigger and much faster than the horses on earth. If you fell…
With a groan of annoyance, Neteyam forced his horse to gallop after you. He was an experienced warrior who had ridden pa’li many times before. Just like flying, it was a second nature to him. He galloped up to you, forcing his horse to go as fast as it could. He caught up to you quickly and slowed down a bit to gallop next to you. ‘Are you out of your mind?!’ he asked in agitation.
You frowned at his words and rolled your eyes. ‘Mawey,’ you said calmly. ‘I know what I’m doing.’ You didn’t understand why Neteyam was making such a big deal out of this. You used to gallop through the forests on earth all the time, and that without forming tsaheylu. That was even more dangerous than riding this horse.
‘Y/n, slow down,’ Neteyam said firmly. ‘You’ve never ridden a pa’li before. I don’t want you to fall.’ His tone became a bit softer when he said those last words, and you knew that he meant what he said. He was worried about you. He wanted you to be safe. With a sigh, you reluctantly slowed down to a walk. You praised the horse by giving it a gentle pat on its flank before you looked at Neteyam. His expression was still worried: his ears were pinned down to his head and his eyes were slightly narrowed. For a second, you felt guilty for running off like that.
‘I’m sorry,’ you said softly, averting your gaze down as you did. You felt your cheeks turn slightly red from embarrassment. You worried your boyfriend. You just wanted to have fun; you never meant to worry him. He didn’t deserve that.
Neteyam saw the slight flush on your cheeks, and he reached out to take your hand in his. He squeezed it gently as he looked at you, silently asking for your attention, his expression softening once your eyes met. ‘I understand you’re excited to ride, yawne. But I don’t want you to get hurt. Why don’t you practice a couple of times first, hm? I can help you if you want.’
You did not like the sound of practicing. You were an experienced equestrian; you knew how to ride. You opened your mouth to protest, but when you saw your boyfriend’s worried expression, you pursed your lips. After a second of contemplating, you nodded. ‘Fine,’ you said with a sigh. You would practice some more if it meant your boyfriend wouldn’t worry so much anymore. Besides, it did have its perks. You could practice with him; a perfect excuse to spend time with him some more.
Neteyam saw you pursing your lips and his heart tightened. He knew what it meant: you wanted to protest. For a second, he was afraid you would, but when you agreed with a sigh, he let out a breath of relief. ‘Thank you,’ he said as he squeezed your hand. ‘It means a lot to me, y/n.’
You sighed once more but squeezed his hand in return. ‘Anything for you, Teyam,’ you said with a smile. You remained silent for a second, thinking about your next words. You didn’t want to get off this horse yet, but you were afraid Neteyam did. ‘Can we take a small ride?’ you asked softly, your ears perking up as you did, showing your hopefulness.
Neteyam wanted to say no, but seeing the hopeful expression on your face made his resolve crumble. ‘What? Now?’ he asked. You nodded in response, a hopeful smile on your face.
Neteyam thought about the request for a second. You still had the blanket and food on the field behind you and he was afraid some animals would steal your food. But when he saw your excited smile, he knew he couldn’t deny you this wish. He took a second to respond, and when he did, your face lit up with excitement. ‘Of course, ma y/n.’

I’d love a Freaky Friday fanfic AU where Neteyam and Spider wake up one morning to find themselves in each other’s bodies. Spider wakes up as Neteyam, and Neteyam wakes up as Spider. For a month, they’re forced to navigate life in each other’s shoes, facing both the privileges and the burdens that come with their swapped identities.
As Spider experiences the immense pressure Neteyam bears as the firstborn son of the Olo’eyktan, Neteyam comes to understand the harsh reality of Spider’s existence: the mistreatment he endures from the adults and the physical toll of surviving in a world not meant for humans. Throughout their journey, the two boys work together to uncover a way to break the curse before the switch becomes permanent. In doing so, they slowly repair their fractured friendship and gain a deeper understanding of each other’s struggles.

Kaltxì everyone! 🤌🫴
I haven't written anything in a while because I have been so incredibly busy with university 😭 I am working on a couple of projects though, and I will post one or two of them next week!
Anyways, I made a Spotify playlist for Lo'ak with music that I think he would listen to. It's not very long, but it's something. I placed the link in here in case anyone's interested.
I hope everyone's enjoying their day! 💙

ok, so, considering Yerik have some sort of fur/hair
Tumblr media
I think even Omatikayan Na'vi would have furred accessories, even if they were for cosmetic value than for looks, considering they use every part of the animal and yerik are one of their main food sources.
I could see it being used on loincloth belts or for comfort items like pillows, mats, toys, or blankets. things of the like. but also as insulation on cloaks for riding at high altitudes, or to keep warm during the wet seasons (when the forest itself isn't too cold, but the walking twigs with no body fat to keep them warm are likely at risk of hypothermia when it's 60 degrees and raining).
I'd love to see how the fur is used since it's so sparce species wise , one little strip on the one species, but so abundant considering hunting patterns.

A passionate teacher
Pairing: Neteyam x female human reader
Summary: Neteyam teaches you Na'vi, but he gives his lessons a little twist to make it more interesting.
Word count: 2.4k
Warnings: Suggestive content, hints of sex
Tumblr media
It has been a while since you moved to Pandora. You had always been intrigued by the beauty of the moon and the bond its inhabitants had with Eywa. You came to Pandora to study the Na’vi. You wanted to learn their ways and educate other humans about it so that both species could live in peace together.
Learning the way of the na’vi meant you had to live with them and that included learning their language. When you signed up for this position, you expected you would watch the indigenous from afar, not to live with them. You never expected to really interact with them since they don’t have a good bond with humans, so you never learned the language.
However, one certain olo’eyktan named Jake Sully, thought it would be a good idea to take some humans under his wing. How else were you supposed to learn their ways? Luckily, Jake and some other na’vi spoke English which made it easier for you to communicate.
This is how you ended up dating the olo’eyktans eldest son. Not long after your arrival, Neteyam started to show interest in you. Lucky for you, he spoke English, so you bonded quickly.
It was now a couple of months later, and you still had a lot of difficulty with the language. The pronunciation was most difficult for you, which is why you also struggled with your vocabulary. Today, Neteyam took a day off to help you. You were sitting on a branch beside a small lake, the sound of the running water combined with the wind blowing through the trees and the distant sound of sturmbeests and direhorses grazing, had a calming effect on you. This was your so-called study spot. The relaxing atmosphere made it easy for you to focus which is why you came here so often.
Today, you had been working on greeting others and introducing yourself. You were proud to say you had mastered that pretty well. Right now, you were focussing on different body parts.
‘What do you call this?” Neteyam asked as he placed a kiss on your hand. You blushed slightly at the sensation of his soft lips against your skin. Even though you had been dating Neteyam for a while now, he still made you nervous.
‘Tsyokx,’ you said without hesitation. You’ve been studying the names of body parts for a week now, some of them you knew by heart, while others were more difficult for you.
‘Sìltsan (well done),’ he praised you while moving his lips up your arm, toward your shoulder, placing a kiss. ‘And this?’
You thought for a moment, his lips on your skin were making it hard for you to focus. ‘’Etnaw?’ it was more a question than a statement and Neteyam raised his brows.
‘Don’t be so uncertain, yawne. You know more than you think,’ his yellow eyes stared into yours and you could feel your cheeks heat up even more. His big eyes showed so much love and compassion and they were really complimented by his long lashes. They were so beautiful, almost ethereal. You swallowed before repeating yourself, but this time with more confidence. Neteyam nodded, praising you again.
He moved his hand up your arm slowly, admiring every inch of your skin. He took hold of your elbow gently, tracing his index finger up and down the joint softly. His touch was very gentle, like he always was with you. His gaze flicked from your elbow to your face, making eye contact again. He looked at you expectantly, waiting for you to tell him the name of the joint. You knew what the elbow was called in na’vi, but you struggled with the pronunciation. ‘Puntil,’ you said hesitantly, knowing you mispronounced it. Neteyam kept staring into your eyes while he held on to your elbow. ‘That’s not quite right, yawne,’ he said, his voice gentle and patient. You blushed again at the nickname he used for you and looked down shyly.
The na’vi reached his other hand up to your chin, grabbing it gently between his thumb and index finger as he guided your gaze back to his. ‘Let’s try again,’ he said. ‘P…puntil,’ you tried again. You knew you had to pop the p, but for some reason you really struggled with it. ‘I’m sorry,’ you apologised when Neteyam shook his head again.
‘Don’t apologise,’ he said gently. ‘You’re learning.’ His gaze was soft and patient, making you feel comfortable around him. You often wondered how he was always so patient with you since you struggled with the same words over and over again. ‘Try after me,’ he said as he let go of your chin. ‘Pxuntil.’
‘Puntil,’ you tried again, shaking your head in frustration when you didn’t pop the p again.
‘It’s okay, y/n,’ he said. ‘Let’s try again.’ He pronounced it for you, after which you mispronounced again. It kept going like this for a couple of times until you finally got it right.
‘Pxuntil,’ you said, and your eyes grew wide when you finally got it right. ‘Neteyam, I finally did it!’ you exclaimed excitedly. A smile crept on his face, his excitement matching yours.
‘Good job, tahnì,’ he said before lifting your arm up to his lips, kissing it softly. His eyes were fixed on yours when he kissed your elbow, and you could feel your cheeks heating up again. You enjoyed him rewarding you with kisses. It made you motivated to keep going.
He allowed his hand to slowly trace over your arm and up to your neck. His fingers lingered on your ear. ‘How do you call this?’ he asked again, leaning closer to you. You noticed your heart started to beat faster when he leaned in, and you hoped he would come even closer.
‘Mikyun,’ you breathed, not really paying attention to him anymore. Your eyes were focussed on his soft, beautiful lips. Oh, how you wished he would kiss you right now.
The boy leaned in even closer, his lips now close to your ear. His breath left goosebumps against your skin, and you swallowed hard when he whispered in your ear. ‘Siltsan.’ He pressed his lips to your ear and placed a gentle kiss, making you gasp at the tingling sensation his lips left on your skin. Neteyam noticed your reaction and he decided to take it a little further by grazing his sharp canines over your lobe. You bit your lip and closed your eyes, enjoying the sensation.
‘Don’t get too distracted, sevin,’ Neteyam whispered before pulling away. He chuckled when he saw how red your cheeks have become. He knew you could make you flustered easily, and he thoroughly enjoyed it.
You opened your eyes when he pulled away, already missing the heat of his skin. You saw him reach out his hand to your face as he gently placed it on your cheek, rubbing circles on your soft skin with his thumb. You leaned into his touch and closed your eyes again. Neteyam smiled at the sight of you relaxing into his touch. ‘Ma y/n,’ he started with a husky voice. ‘Keep your focus. What is this?’
You smiled at his words. You didn’t want to focus anymore. You wanted to be cuddled up against your boyfriend, to use his large body as a bed. ‘Hmm?’ you hummed, ‘what is what?’
Neteyam chuckled again, but his grip on your face tightened slightly, to keep you alert. ‘How do you call this?’
‘A cheek,’ you said playfully as you opened your eyes to look into his yellow orbs. He raised his brows at your sass, clearly amused by your sudden change of demeanour.
‘And now in Na’vi,’ he said. His voice was stern, but you didn’t miss the playfulness underneath. You hesitated for a moment; you forgot the translation. You couldn’t let him wait too long though for his gaze became more intense as the seconds ticked by. ‘Fwang,’ you said eventually.
Neteyam’s gaze softened a bit, but his grip on your face didn’t loosen one bit. ‘No, yawne. That has to do with smell.’ His voice was as patient as ever, which made you feel comfortable enough to make mistakes. ‘Can you guess again?’
You shook your head. ‘I don’t know,’ you whispered.
Your boyfriend smiled slightly before giving you the proper translation. ‘Flawn,’ he said, his intense gaze never leaving yours.
You sighed in frustration. ‘It sounds the same, so it counts as correct. Can I get a kiss now?’ you asked, hoping he would still give you your reward.
He chuckled again and shook his head. ‘They do look alike. But you got it wrong, so you’re not getting a kiss yet.’
You pouted slighty, as he removed his gaze from your eyes to your nose. ‘I’ll give you another chance,’ he said. ‘What is “nose”?’
‘Ontu,’ you said immediately, earning a smirk from Neteyam. He knew what you were doing. You weren’t doing it for learning the language anymore. You were doing it just to receive his kisses. The na’vi slowly leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on your nose. He rested his lips on your skin a little longer than necessary before pulling away.
A smile appeared on your lips when he kissed your nose, and you couldn’t help but blush at the sensation of his skin against yours. You noticed how he looked at your lips after he pulled away and you bit your lip slightly. You wanted to kiss him so badly right now, but you knew you had to wait till he kissed your lips. Neteyam’s gaze never left your lips, and you knew what his next question was going to be. Before he had time to speak, you answered.
‘Seyri,’ you said hastily. The na’vi chuckled as he shook his head. ‘Patience, sevin. You have to let me ask the question first.’ He looked at you as he spoke, his eyes held a hint of playfulness, and you knew he enjoyed this little game you made. He leaned in closer to you and hovered his lips above yours. You could feel his hot breath fan on your lips that were so eager to kiss him. Just hurry up, you thought.
‘What do you call your lips?’ he asked as he leaned in just a little closer. His lips grazed yours slightly as he spoke, which made goosebumps appear on your skin.
‘Seyri,’ you whispered before leaning forward. You expected his lips to crash onto yours and you furrowed your brows in irritation when you saw Neteyam leaned back. ‘What are you doing?’ you asked him, your voice full of curiosity, but also a hint of impatience.
Neteyam smiled, enjoying the fact that he was in control. ‘Patience, ma y/n,’ he said as he placed both of his hands on either side of your face. He started leaning in again and stopped when his lips hovered above yours. ‘Siltsan,’ he whispered before gently placing his lips onto yours. You immediately wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him closer to you. You tried to kiss him more eagerly, wanting more of him than just this one, slow kiss, but he didn’t budge. Instead, his lips were glued to yours, frozen in place.
After a long, frozen kiss he pulled away slowly. ‘Like I said before,’ Neteyam whispered. ‘Patience, darling.’
Your breath hitched in your throat and your heart beat quickened when he called you “darling”.  You felt butterflies in your stomach as you looked at him with pleading eyes. ‘Please, Neteyam,’ you begged. ‘I have had patience for long enough. I just want you to kiss me, please.’ Your hands reached for his neck again and you pulled him back in. This time, he allowed you to and, as his lips touched yours, you were surprised he kissed you more eager now. His lips moved faster than before and one of his hands slowly slid down your back to your waist. He used that hand to pull you onto his lap, making you straddle him, without ever breaking the kiss.
You allowed your hands to slide down from his neck to his chest, his shoulders and then his arms, feelings his strong muscles tense under your touch. His hand gripped your waist a little tighter as he pulled you further into his lap. You gasped when his other hand reached under your leg and squeezed the soft flesh there. You noticed how the kiss started to become hungrier as he licked your bottom lip, begging for entrance.
You opened your mouth as you gave him permission to explore your mouth. His tongue fought with yours and you couldn’t help but moan a little when he squeezed your leg again, his long fingers grazing your inner thigh. Your hands reached back up to his neck and took hold of his braids to softly tug at them, earning a low growl from him. The kiss started to get more heated, and you felt a wetness appearing in between your legs. You couldn’t help but grind against Neteyam’s thick thighs in an attempt to release some of your tension.
Suddenly, Neteyam pulled away from the kiss. He was breathing heavily, and his eyes were half lidded and full of lust. ‘Maybe we should take this somewhere more private,’ he said as he allowed his hands to roam over your legs and your bum.
‘But this is our private spot, ‘Teyam,’ you wined as you pushed him onto his back. ‘I don’t want to stop now. I have been waiting for far too long.’ You slid your hands over his chest and belly, down to his loincloth.
Neteyam chuckled slightly, admiring you from underneath. You could see him considering his options and you leaned down to place a kiss on his neck before taking the skin in between your lips, sucking at it slightly. This earned a growl from deep in his chest and you could feel him swallow hard.
‘Alright,’ he said, his voice had gone down an octave and it created even more butterflies in your stomach. ‘How can I say no to you? I have kept you waiting for long enough.’
He pulled you in for a kiss again and gently traced his fingers over your sensitive skin. You certainty wouldn’t mind all of your na’vi-lessons to end this way.

A/N: Helloooo 🤌🫴, this is the second half of part 2. I know it's very long. I got a little carried away, oops. I am working on a third part, which will be a little more ✨spicy✨ Enjoy!
Tumblr media
You stayed in the hut with Lo’ak for what felt like hours but were actually minutes. Mo’at had finished patching him up and left a couple of minutes ago. Now you were sitting here alone with him, you still had a tight grasp on his hand on which you were drawing circles with your thumb. His hand was huge compared to yours; your hand barely fit around his little finger. To pass the time, you were counting the freckles on his hand. 7, 8, 9, 10- A groan got your attention and you quickly stopped counting. Looking at Lo’ak, you noticed the sound came from him. His ears were twitching, and he started moving his tail.
Your voice was barely above a whisper, but the twitching of his ears, signalled that he heard you. ‘Lo’ak?’ The boy stirred and you squeezed his hand a little, letting him know he was not alone. You looked at his face as soon as he opened his big, yellow eyes, your heartbeat getting faster by the second. He was alive!
A small smile crept on your face when your friend squeezed your hand. He swallowed hard before he spoke, and his voice sounded rasp. ‘I’m sorry…’.
You shook your head. ‘Don’t apologise- ‘
‘No, I’m sorry. I failed you. I failed all of you.’ His ears were pinned back now, and he let go of your hand. Tears welled up in your eyes. It hurt you that he thought of himself as a failure, that he wanted to live up to his father so badly that he put his life at risk. You wanted to be strong for him to put him at ease, but your voice broke.
‘Don’t say that. You didn’t fail me or anyone else. We are only glad you’re still alive.’ Lo’ak looked away when you spoke and pushed himself up into a seated position.
His face cringed as he hissed and grabbed his throbbing shoulder, ‘tsahev (crap)!’ You reacted quickly, laying him back down as gentle as you could.
‘Wait here, I’m going to get Mo’at.’ You made sure he was comfortable before sprinting out of the tsahik’s tent. You ran through the village as fast as you could, searching for Mo’at, Neytiri, Kiri or anyone else that could help. ‘I need Tsahik!’ you called out, but you couldn’t find anyone. You wondered where they could be until you remembered where Spider went. He had told you Jake and Neytiri had a fight, which meant they were probably in their kelku.
You ran as fast as your legs could carry you and you only came to a halt when you finally reached the Sully’s tent. You saw Spider, Neteyam, Tuk and Kiri crouched down, looking under the tent. Your heart felt as if it was beating out of your chest, and you tried to calm down your breathing. You needed someone quickly because you were afraid Lo’ak would lose consciousness again. At the same time, you were afraid he would sneak out if he remained conscious to do his iknimaya again.
Tuk was the first to notice you and you spoke before you gave the others time to get up. ‘I need your parents. Lo’ak just woke up.’
‘He’s awake?’ the little girl’s eyes lightened up and a big smile formed on her face. She took hold of Neteyam’s arm excitedly as soon as he got up. ‘Lo’aks awake!’ she said excitedly to which her brother’s eyes grew wide. He opened his mouth to speak, but you interrupted him before he even had the chance.
‘Where are your parents? Where is Mo’at?’
He pointed to the tent. ‘My parents are in there. I will go to Lo’ak.’ And with that, he left. You saw the others getting up too, but before they had time to speak, you left. You quickly walked in the tent and saw Neytiri standing in front of Jake, whose back was facing the entrance. Neytiri’s face was scrunched up in frustration. ‘This is part of our culture; you can’t take this away from us!’
‘He almost lost his life out there! This can’t go on any longer.’ Jakes voice was filled with sadness and anger, and you could see his tail lashing back and forth.
You cleared your throat as you took a couple of steps into the kelku. Neytiri’s gaze shifted from her mate to you and her expression shifted from irritated to surprised. Jake turned around and you noticed he had a little more difficulty hiding his anger for his ears were still pointed backwards and his lips formed a thin line. You didn’t waste any time for you weren’t very comfortable interrupting the olo’eyktan, especially when he was arguing with his wife. ‘Lo’ak woke up.’ You felt a little awkward, so your eyes shifted from the two na’vi in front of you to the ground.
Jake nodded slightly. ‘Thank you, y/n. We will be there soon.’
You nodded in response and made your way of their kelku quickly. It was an understatement to say you were uncomfortable in there when they just had a fight. Something about Neytiri’s fierceness and Jake’s authority made you nervous.
Commotion came out of the tsahik’s tent, and you weren’t surprised when you opened the flap to step inside. Neteyam and Lo’ak were standing in front of each other closely as if they were asserting dominance. Their tails were wagging in frustration, and you could see their chests rise and fall quickly from their heavy breathing. Did they just fight?
You stepped into the tent, not wanting whatever this was to escalate. ‘What is going on in here?’
After a short silence, Neteyam pointed at you without tearing his eyes off his younger brother. ‘Go on, then. Tell her. Tell her how you want to risk your life!’
Lo’ak sighed as he pinned his ears down. He turned to face you and his eyes immediately went to yours. They were full of determination and his pupils were larger than normally. His eyebrows were knitted, and his mouth was pressed shut. You knew what that look meant. This look meant he wanted to do something he shouldn’t, and you knew exactly what that something was. ‘Oh, no,’ you said as you crossed your arms in front of your chest. ‘You’re not going back.’
‘Yes, I am and you’re not going to stop me.’ Lo’ak started walking toward the entrance of the tent and even though you knew you were no match for him, you blocked his way by stepping in front of the entrance, glaring up at him.
Your best friend sighed again and looked you up and down. You crossed your arms again and raised your eyebrows, challenging him. Lo’ak was stubborn, but so were you. You weren’t afraid to challenge him, and he knew it. On the other hand, you knew he would always be gentle with you, even when you were getting on his nerves. The worst he would do was lift you up and put you down somewhere else. ‘Get out of my way, y/n.’
‘No, Lo’ak. You’re injured; you need to rest. You’re not strong enough to do your iknimaya again.’ You didn’t get out of his way and waited for him to make a move. You were burning holes into his eyes and as he was standing there, staring at you, it felt as if Neteyam didn’t exist anymore. The world didn’t exist anymore. All you could think of was Lo’ak and how beautiful he looked when he was so determined. Persistence was a trait you looked for in a partner, and this just so happened to be one of Lo’aks strongest traits.  You could feel a familiar sensation in your belly, like butterflies, and you couldn’t control the small smile that crept on your face. Lo’aks serious look vanished a little as it got replaced by a smile too. Hope found its way into your mind; maybe he would finally stop being so stubborn and let his body rest.
Neteyam’s voice brought you out of your trance and you quickly looked at the ground, feeling flustered for zoning out like this in his presence. ‘Ma tsmukan, listen to your girlfriend. You’re injured.’ He accidentally took hold of his brothers’ injured shoulder while trying to pull him back to his hammock which got him a sharp hiss in return. If it weren’t for Lo’aks actions, your face would be completely red for Neteyam called you Lo’aks girlfriend. Oh, how you wish that were true. Instead, you tried to grab the boy who pushed his older brother away from him.
‘Lo’ak, please,’ you begged as you grabbed his non-injured arm. He pulled his arm out of your grip harshly and bolted for his brother, pushing him again. Neteyam almost lost his balance as he took a couple of steps back, before throwing his arms around his brother’s neck, head locking him. Lo’ak struggled, elbowing and clawing at his brother.
‘Stop it, you skxwang!’ the oldest of the two said through gritted teeth as he tried to keep his brother in place. What he didn’t realise was that Lo’ak was fuelled with adrenaline which gave him an advantage as he elbowed Neteyam in his side. As soon as he got out of his brother’s grip, he punched him on the nose. Neteyam hissed at Lo’ak in return and threw the second punch, aiming for his face as well.
You didn’t want to stand there and do nothing, but you couldn’t just watch them hurt each other. Where was the rest of your family? You figured Spider, Kiri and Tuk would have been here by now. You glanced through the entrance of the hut quickly, but you didn’t see anyone nearby. This meant you had to put the fire out, but how? You were no match for their strength. You balled your fists in frustration, nails digging half-moons in your palms as you watched punches being thrown and blood flying through the air. You did not want to get through their fight at all, so you did the only thing you could think of at that moment; you yelled at them to stop.
‘Stop it, you guys! You’re hurting each other!’ You knew those words meant nothing at that moment, but it was worth trying. You were sure the two na’vi didn’t even hear you, but you tried yelling again. As expected, this didn’t work either. Lo’ak was now on laying on the ground and Neteyam was bent over him, his fist raised to throw another punch at his face. Without thinking, you ran to the duo and put your hands on Neteyam’s fist. ‘Don’t, Neteyam, please don’t!’
Neteyam’s fist trembled in your hands out of adrenaline and after a couple of breaths, he lowered his fist and got back up. You held his hand for a little longer until you were sure he wouldn’t explode again. ‘Maybe it’s better you failed your iknimaya,’ he started. ‘You’re still a child. No wonder dad’s disappointed in you.’
Your eyes widened. You have never heard Neteyam saying something disrespectful about anyone, let alone his brother. You could hear shifting beside you, and from that moment, everything happened in slow motion. Lo’ak got up from his position on the floor as his fist made contact with his brother’s jaw. He didn’t give Neteyam time to think as he punched his cheekbone, and next the underside of his jaw. You could see the blood running down from Neteyam’s mouth as he scrunched his face in pain. He grabbed Lo’ak’s shoulders and kneed him in the stomach.
Without thinking, you stepped in between them. The weight of the mistake you just made only occurred to you when you saw Lo’aks hands reach for you. He took hold of your upper arms and threw you away from him. The first thing that you felt was your head when it met a wooden pillar that was holding up the tent. The second thing you felt was your left shoulder as you fell on top of it in a weird position, your body folded awkwardly in a little corner of the tent. From your position, you could see the two brothers looking at you, shock was plastered on both of their faces, but you didn’t process it. All you could think about was the throbbing at the back of your head. You could already feel a bump forming there.
You placed your right hand on the woven mat and tried to push yourself up. You screamed out in pain as a jolt of pain went up your left shoulder. You quickly laid down again and closed your eyes as the headache worsened. You reached your right hand to your head again to hopefully soothe the pain and you winced as you touched the bump that had already formed there.
Suddenly, two shadows lurked above you and big hands took hold of your shoulder to turn you around so that you could lay on your back. You screamed out again as you were turned on your back. It felt as if a hot knife stabbed your shoulder over and over again, causing hot tears to run down your cheeks. You tried to look at the two people who were bent over you, but the tears blurred your view, and the pain was so intense that you couldn’t focus on the voices around you.
More voices were coming from beside you and you tried to blink away your tears quickly, wanting to see who were there. You looked to your left and you saw Jake and Neytiri first. They were standing in front of their two sons, who were looking down in shame. The person who was crouched down at your side, was Kiri. She was rubbing a thick, green paste on your shoulder. You opened your mouth to talk to her, but Jake’s voice rang through the silent hut, gaining you attention immediately.
‘What’s gotten into you, boy?’
Lo’aks voice was uncertain, and it cracked as he spoke. ‘D-dad... I am sorry... so sorry.’ Was he crying? You turned your head a little more to catch a glimpse of your friend, but another jolt of pain shot through your head. You closed your eyes as you winced.
The olo’eyktan scoffed. ‘You’re sorry? Is that all you have to say after you nearly killed her?’ Your stomach twisted at those words. Lo’ak threw you across the tent. Hard. You got injured because of him. You thought he would never hurt you. You made a promise when you were little, and you had always believed him. You had always trusted him. Today he broke that promise by throwing you to the other side of the tent. Anger and sadness flowed through your body, and you tried to get up again only to be stopped by Kiri.
She placed her hand on your non-injured shoulder and laid you back down gently. ‘Mawey (calm down), ma y/n.’ She signalled Mo’at to crouch down next to her, blocking your view of the three Sully men.
‘Your shoulder is dislocated,’ Mo’at said. ‘I can help you, but you have to sit up straight.’
Your eyes grew wide, and you only started feeling the immense pain and tingling in your shoulder when you looked at it. Your shoulder was starting to turn purple, and you could see it being deformed. ‘Oh, Eywa,’ you groaned as Mo’at helped you sit up straight.
‘I want you to take a deep breath, ma y/n,’ she said as she took hold of your wrist and straightened your arm. You nodded and did what you were told. After you exhaled, Mo’at pulled at your wrist, popping your shoulder back in place. A burning sensation went from that shoulder through your arm and you cursed as you screamed out in pain.
‘Mawey, my child. It is done,’ Mo’at said as she bandaged your arm in place. ‘You need to rest now.’
Hot tears flooded down your cheeks as you nodded. Kiri gave you some herbs that would help against your pain as she helped you get up from the floor. ‘I will take you to the lab,’ she said as she hooked her arm under yours and guided you to the entrance of the tshaik’s tent. Before you left, you turned around to thank Mo’at for helping you. ‘Irayo (thank you),’ you said and Mo’at nodded in return.
As you left the tent, you could hear Lo’ak yelling after you. ‘I am sorry, y/n! I didn’t mean to hurt you.’ You sighed as you ignored him and started your walk to the lab.
You slept terribly that night. Your arm was still in a sling and because of that, you couldn’t get into a comfortable position. Aside from the pain, your thoughts of Lo’ak kept you up as well. You kept replaying the scene where he threw you across the tent over and over in your head. Your best friend, the boy you also fell in love with, had hurt you. Not to mention he almost died during his iknimaya.
Lying awake for hours, you finally started to drift off into a slumber, the clock on your bedside table reading six am. The sun had already started to come up and rays of sunshine came through your curtains.
Your sleep was interrupted quickly by a knock on your door. You decided to ignore it in hopes of whoever was knocking, would go away. Unfortunately, they didn’t go away as the knocking increased, and the door opened while they called your name. ‘Y/n, wake up.’
You groaned as you recognised Spider’s voice. ‘You have to get out of bed, come on!’
You lifted your head off your pillow and looked at the clock with half-lidded eyes. 06:15. Did you really sleep for fifteen minutes? Not being in the mood for a hyperactive Spider right now, you rested your head back on your pillow and closed your eyes again. ‘Go away, Spider.’
The boy grabbed your blanket and pulled it off you, revealing you in a grey oversized t-shirt you stole from Norm’s avatar. ‘I don’t think you want to miss this,’ he said as he opened your curtains, letting rays of sunshine illuminate your room before he went through your closet, grabbing a tewng (loincloth) and a top for you to wear.
You sat up grumpily, reaching up your hand to comb through your messy hair. ‘What’s so important that you had do disrupt my sleep?’
‘Lo’ak is doing his iknimaya again,’ Spider said as he laid your clothes on your bed. You were surprised to see that your top matched your tewng; they were both a beautiful shade of light pink. You normally didn’t allow Spider to choose your outfit because he never looked at matching colours. He just grabbed the first thing within his reach.
‘Wait, he’s doing what?’ you just realised what he said, and you got out of bed quickly, which you immediately regretted when you felt a throbbing in your head. You groaned as you put a hand on your head.
Spider looked at you compassionately and put his hands on your arms, gently sitting you back down on your bed. ‘Norm gave me some painkillers for you. You should take them before you head to the village.’
You nodded as the boy rummaged through the pouch that was attached to his hips before handing you the painkillers. ‘I will wait for you,’ he said as he walked to your bedroom door. He had barely put his hand on the handle before he turned back around. ‘Do you need help getting dressed? You know… because of your shoulder.’
You smiled slightly as you shook your head. Spider was like a brother to you, but you wouldn’t feel very comfortable with him helping you get dressed. Judging from his look, he wasn’t very comfortable with it either, since he had a slight blush on his cheeks, and he was looking at the floor. ‘No, thank you, ma tsmukan.’
After Spider left, you tried to get dressed. Putting on your loincloth was no problem, but your top was a little more difficult. Luckily, the top was just a bundle of ropes and vines that slipped over your head easily and didn’t have to be tied up.
You weren’t very excited to see Lo’ak today; you were still mad at him for hurting you. He was your best friend however, so you did want to wish him goodbye as he went for his iknimaya again. The walk toward the village was quiet, for neither you nor Spider had anything to say. For you it was because you were tired and feeling too many emotions at once. For Spider it was because he was nervous Lo’ak would be injured again.
When you reached the village, you could see the Sully siblings standing together as Lo’ak got ready for his rite of passage. Spider greeted them and you could hear them talking, but your mind was only focussed on your best friend who, as soon as he laid his eyes on you, looked you up and down, his eyes lingering longer on your injured shoulder. You raised your eyebrows at him and opened your mouth to snap at him when Kiri’s voice caught your attention. ‘How did you sleep? Are you still in pain?’
You turned to her and saw that she was crouched down to your height while Tuk was watching over her shoulder intently. You sighed as you shook your head. ‘I couldn’t sleep at all last night. My shoulder hurts and I couldn’t get comfortable because of this stupid sling.’
Kiri examined your shoulder carefully and you followed her gaze. Your skin was not just purple anymore; it had also turned a bit green. ‘I will harvest some paywll (dapophet) for you today. It will help with the healing,’ Kiri said.
You didn’t have time to thank her as Jake’s voice caught everyone’s attention. ‘It is time,’ he put a hand on his youngest son’s shoulder as he guided him towards a group of na’vi that were waiting for him. Everyone cheered for Lo’ak and wished him good luck, and even though you were mad at him, you felt sad that you didn’t get the chance to talk to him before he left. You could see him turn around and you made contact with his beautiful, yellow eyes. You mouthed a ‘good luck’, before he was turned around again and walked out of the village.
You didn’t feel like talking to anyone that day, so you went back to the lab and tried to get some sleep again. However, after lying in bed for two hours, sleep still didn’t come, so you decided to watch some movies to kill the time. Not even halfway into the movie you picked, you got up and paced around your bedroom. Even though you didn’t like it, your mind kept going back to Lo’ak. You were worried about him; what if he got thrown of that cliff again?
Throughout the day, you kept the same routine: watch a movie for about thirty minutes, pace and think about your best friend, try to watch a movie again, pace again, trying to clean your room, pacing again, etc, etc.
It was now getting dark, and you were laying on your bed, watching a movie again. You were so tired from overthinking and doing nothing all day, that you had started to drift off into sleep. You had just become comfortable when Spider busted through the door. You yelped as your eyes flew open and you immediately got up from your comfortable position.
‘Why do you always wake me up when I’m finally falling asleep?’ you asked as you put your hand on your chest, trying to calm down your racing heart.
‘Because Lo’ak is back,’ he said with a big smile on his face.
‘Is he alright?’ you asked hesitantly. Last time he returned, he nearly died. You wanted to make sure that you could celebrate.
Spider laughed at you and shook his head. ‘Yes, you skxwang. He is alright.’
You released a breath you didn’t realise you were holding. He was alright. He was alive! ‘Thank you, great Mother,’ you whispered under your breath.
‘So…,’ Spider started, raising his eyebrows. ‘Are you coming to the party?’ you knitted your brows at the thought of celebrating tonight. You were still mad at him, and you didn’t feel like celebrating at all.
‘I don’t know,’ you said softly. ‘I am really mad at him.’
‘Because he threw you?’
‘Yes, he hurt me! He promised me he would never hurt me,’ you pouted.
Spider sighed as he took a step toward you. ‘You know he feels really bad about it, right? He won’t stop telling me how sorry he is. He acted in the heat of the moment. And you kind of got in between two fighting na’vi, which isn’t very smart either,’ he looked down, mumbling the last part, knowing he was right but afraid you would be mad at him too.
You knew you shouldn’t have stepped in between the two brothers, but you weren’t thinking. You didn’t want them to hurt each other any further. On the other hand, Lo’ak probably wasn’t thinking either, which is probably why he threw you. You sighed. Maybe you should apologize to him. But on the other hand, he did hurt you bad. ‘But he hurt me,’ you said after a couple of seconds. ‘He broke his promise.’ You wanted to stay mad at him, but you couldn’t. Not today. Not when he finally finished his iknimaya, one of the most important events of his life.
‘But he is still your friend, y/n. Even if you stay for only ten minutes, it will mean a lot to him.’
You nodded, knowing Spider was right. You were going to the party, and you would congratulate Lo’ak on his achievement. Then you would go home and hopefully get some sleep.
Music could be heard as you neared the village. The sound of drums and bongos filled your ears, and you could see a large crowd of na’vi dancing to the music. The atmosphere was bright and festive, a sharp contrast to how you were feeling. You tried to make your way through the crowd without hurting your arm, while looking for your best friend. Because everyone was so much taller than you, you had to crane your neck to look at their faces. By doing so, you didn’t pay attention to where you were going, resulting in you bumping into a muscled back.
‘Oh, I’m sorry!’ you said as they turned around. You recognised them immediately: Rawm. Rawm was one of the best warriors of the clan, he often went on patrol with Neteyam. You looked up at him as his muscular frame towered over you, making you feel even smaller than you normally did.
‘You’re y/n, right? Lo’aks little girlfriend,’ he said with a grin. Rawm was a great warrior, and he knew it, which is why he was always so full of himself.
You sighed as you heard his friends laugh. You just realised they had come to stand around the two of you and it made you feel very uncomfortable. ‘He is not my boyfriend,’ you said through gritted teeth.
‘I guess not. You wouldn’t want to be mated to someone who treats you like la’ang (pile of stinking, rotting animal matter),’ he said, looking at your injured shoulder.
‘It was an accident!’ you were already annoyed because you didn’t want to be here, and the fact that you didn’t like Rawm very much didn’t help either. You had to bite your lip to hold back another snarl and you balled your hands, your fingernails digging half-moons into your palms.
Rawm noticed your attitude and he raised his hands in surrender. ‘Right, it was an accident, I’m sorry.’ You looked at the ground and sighed, not wanting to talk to him anymore. You just wanted to talk to Lo’ak and head back home. ‘Why don’t you have a drink with us?’ Rawm asked as he shoved a bowl in your hand, making some of the liquid spill over your hand.
You weren’t a fan of the fermented fruit the na’vi drank on special occasions like these. It tastes very sweet, but it has a bitter underlying taste to it. It was much stronger than the alcohol humans drink, your tiny body couldn’t even handle one portion. You drank it only once and woke up with a hangover the next day, while your friends were doing just fine.
You attemped to give Rawm the bowl back, but he pushed it toward you again. ‘I don’t drink,’ you stated as you tried to push it back.
The warrior hissed at you, still not taking the bowl. ‘You should drink some, maybe it would cheer you up. You are always so grumpy.’ You rolled your eyes at his comment and put the bowl to your lips. You weren’t planning on drinking tonight, but you wanted to get to Lo’ak as fast as possible. If drinking this meant Rawm would leave you alone and you could go to Lo’ak, you would chug it as fast as you could.
Rawm and his friends cheered you on as you took big gulps of the sweet but bitter liquid. You were over halfway through when you pushed the drink away from your lips, knowing you would feel nauseous if you had any more. You slammed the bowl into Rawm’s chest, making the liquid spill over his abdomen and tewng. ‘Here, I drank your stupid drink, are you happy now?!’
You could hear him hissing and shouting at you as you quickly walked away from him. You knew you’d better not pick a fight with the best warrior of the clan, but this night, you couldn’t care less. All you thought about was finding Lo’ak and apologizing to him and to finally have him in your arms again.
As you made your way through the crowd, the effects of the drink started to kick in. You were starting to feel a bit dizzy, and everything felt like a blur. After a couple of minutes, you’ve searched through the whole crowd, but you couldn’t find your friend. There was only one place left for you to look, and that was his kelku. The closer you got to his kelku, the more muffled the music got, something that your head greatly appreciated, and when you finally reached the entrance, you heard voices coming from inside. You couldn’t make out what they were saying but you recognized Lo’aks voice immediately.
A smile formed on your face when you heard his voice and you stepped into the opening of his kelku. ‘Hey, Lo’ak, congratulations on your iknimaya. I wanted to- ‘you stopped dead in your tracks as your heart sank at the sight in front of you. Your smile faded immediately when you saw Lo’ak standing in the middle of the tent with his hands on another girl’s waist whilst he was kissing her.
Both na’vi stopped their kissing immediately when they heard your voice, and you could see shock forming on both of their faces. ‘Y/n-’ your best friend started as he moved toward you, but you put your hand up, stopping him quickly.
‘How dare you, Lo’ak? I have been looking for you all night long! There is a party going on for you and all you do is this?!’ you threw your hands in the air, signalling at the scene in front of you.
‘Y/n…,’ Lo’ak started to walk toward you again and tears welled up in your eyes. Nothing had hurt you more than seeing the love of your life kissing another girl. You were expecting him to be talking to his father, or celebrating with his siblings, but not… this. Your friend tried to grab your hands, but you pulled them away quickly. ‘Please, let me explain,’ he pleaded, ears clinging to his head in frustration.
‘No,’ you said as you felt a tear run down your cheek. ‘I don’t want to hear anything from you,’ you said, and with that, you left. You ran away from his kelku and through the crowd, pushing aside anyone who was standing in your way. You could hear Lo’ak calling your name behind you when you entered the quiet forest, but you chose to ignore him. The alcohol combined with the bioluminescence from everything around you made you dizzy, making it hard for you to orientate yourself. You ran as fast as your legs could carry you and it felt as if your heart was beating out of your chest. Your ears were ringing, but you could still hear that beautiful but annoying voice behind you.
You didn’t want to talk to Lo’ak. Not after you saw him kissing another girl. You knew you wouldn’t be able to mate with him, but it still hurt. You weren’t expecting him to find someone so quickly because he never talked about another girl. For you it felt like he had only eyes for you, and you thought other girls didn’t exist for him. You thought the moments you two spent together were special. You thought he sometimes even flirted with you. Oh, how delusional you were. Turns out he had feelings for another girl all along.
You were so lost in your thoughts that you didn’t hear the footsteps catching up to you. You were suddenly grabbed by your arm and pulled back, making you stop running and bump into a blue, muscled chest. Lo’aks chest. ‘Stop running away from me,’ he said harshly.
You took a couple of steps back, as far as the na’vi allowed you to while holding your arm in his iron grip. You were mere inches away from him and looking up to his face, you immediately locked eyes with him. His gaze was strong, and you felt your cheeks turn hot. Suddenly you couldn’t stop thinking about his hand that left a tingling sensation on your arm. The hand that had been on another girl’s waist just minutes before, you reminded yourself. His hand felt dirty now and you yanked your arm back as hard as you could, but ironically, it didn’t move an inch. Lo’aks grip of you tightened, but it didn’t hurt you, he made sure of that now.
‘Let me go!’ you snarled at him.
‘Not until you tell me what’s going on. Why are you running away from me?’ his voice turned a little softer when he asked you that. His gaze was still fierce, but you noticed worry started to appear.
‘Because you are such a prick, Lo’ak!’ you shouted as you tried to yank your arm again, but still, to no avail. Lo’ak didn’t tighten his hold this time, but he didn’t loosen it either. Instead, he pulled you a little closer. Not so close that your bodies were touching, but you could feel the heat coming off his body. The sensation made goosebumps run down your spine and your cheeks heat up again.
‘Oh yeah? Why?’ he asked as he narrowed his eyes, still looking intently into yours.
You didn’t mean to tell him everything, but your emotions combined with the alcohol in your blood made it hard to think properly, especially with his body this close to yours. ‘Because you were with another girl! I wanted to apologise to you for being so reckless when you fought with Neteyam, because it was not your fault. I shouldn't have stepped in between you two. It is my fault that I am hurt, not yours. I wanted to apologise so we could celebrate your victory together, like we were supposed to do. But instead, you decided your time was better spend kissing some other girl!’ Tears welled up in your eyes, but you tried to blink them back. No way you were going to cry in front of him.
‘I’m sorry I kissed her then! Why does it bother you so much?’ As soon as those words left his mouth, you couldn’t stop the tears from flowing down your cheeks. You looked down as you swallowed down a sob. You would have to tell him the truth. This was the moment you would ruin your friendship forever. Every moment spent with Lo’ak would just be a memory now. You bit your lip as you tried to find the courage to tell him how you truly felt. You looked up at him and took a shaky breath. His fierce eyes pierced into yours and you noticed something else in his gaze. Was it anger? Grief? Or was he nervous? You really couldn’t tell as your vision blurred from the tears in your eyes.
‘Because…’ you took another shaky breath, dread pooling into your stomach. ‘Because I love you, you skxwang.’
Lo’aks eyes widened, and he dropped down to his knees while still towering over you. He was silent, way too silent for your liking. You tried to read his face; it was plastered in shock. You didn’t know if it was a good sign or not. Your heartbeat started to quicken, and you didn’t dare look at him anymore, so you looked down at the ground. You messed up. For good.
‘I-I’m sorry,’ was all you could stammer. ‘I don’t know why I said that. You probably think I’m weird, because why would I fall for my best friend who isn’t even human. You don’t even like me. And I know I ruined our friendship- ‘you were cut off by his lips slamming onto yours. You stood still like that for a couple of seconds, registering the fact that he was kissing you. You snapped out of it quickly as his hand that was holding your arm, glided down to your hand, engulfing your tiny hand into his much larger one. You raised your heels do deepen the kiss, wishing your other arm wouldn’t be in a sling so you could throw your arm around his neck. You silently thanked the newest technology for making it possible for you to breath Pandoran air without a mask. Without a simple injection, you would never be able to kiss Lo’ak.
It was Lo’ak who finally broke the kiss. You both looked at each other, catching your breath from the long kiss. You looked at him with flushed cheeks. You didn’t know what to say. It was him who spoke first.
‘I love you too, y/n,’ his voice was barely above a whisper, and he squeezed your hand slightly. ‘I have loved you for as long as I can remember.’
A smile crept on your face while hearing this. So he had been flirting with you! But why was he kissing someone just minutes before?
‘But why did you kiss her?’ you asked.
Lo’ak sighed and bowed his head in shame. ‘I was afraid you wouldn’t have feelings for me. When I hurt you yesterday, I was sure I fucked up. I thought things between us would never be the same again, so I looked for another woman. I knew Vineya had feelings for me, and she is a great hunter, so I wanted to give it a chance. To forget you.’ He paused for a second before lifting his head again and looking into your eyes. His eyes were filled with hurt and shame, and it pained you to see him like this. ‘But I could never forget you, I am so sorry,’ he said.
You responded to him with a hug, resting your chin on his shoulder while standing on your tippy toes. ‘You are forgiven,’ you whispered. ‘I am sorry too. For putting myself in danger and for calling you a prick.’
The boy chuckled. ‘It’s okay. I deserved it.’
You shook your head and released him from your embrace. ‘No, you don’t deserve it, Lo’ak. You are a good man.’
He smiled at that and thanked you before grabbing your face in both of his hands and leaning down to kiss you again. You felt a blush creep on your cheeks as you returned the kiss.
Lo’ak broke the kiss and rested his forehead against yours, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. ‘Oel ngati kameie,’ he said.
Your stomach was filled with butterflies when you responded with a big smile. ‘Oel ngati kameie.’

Feelings for a friend, part. 2.1
Part 1 | Part 2.2
Pairing: Lo'ak x female human reader
Summary: Lo'ak is going to do his iknimaya, but a horrible event occurs as he is brought back in his father's arms.
Word count: 2.2k
Warnings: overthinking, injuries, blood, unconsciousness and mentions of death.
A/N: Helloooo, this is part 2 of feelings for a friend! This part is quite long, so I decided to devide them into two separate parts. This is the first one out of two. Enjoy! 🤌🫴
Tumblr media
It is now a year later and today is a very special day. Lo’ak is going to do his iknimaya. You were sitting in his kelku (home), painting the signature orange V-shape on his face. You noticed he was taking deep breaths, and he was silent, a weird contrast to his normally energetic behaviour. You could tell he was nervous, which wasn’t very strange. If he completed his iknimaya, he would be considered an adult. It was a very big event for the na’vi.
‘Don’t worry, my ‘eylan (friend). You are a great hunter, especially for your age. You don’t have to be so nervous,’ you said as you finished the painting on his face. Lo’ak looked at you and smiled slightly.
‘Irayo (thank you), ma y/n. But what if I don’t make it? Or what if I’m not as good as Neteyam? I don’t want to disappoint my father.’ His eyebrows furrowed in worry. In times like these, Lo’ak worried too much. He wasn’t focusing on his task anymore for he was too focused on living up to his fathers’ expectations.
You put your hands on his shoulders and squeezed them slightly. ‘Don’t compare yourself to your brother. You’re not him. You have different qualities that’ll be of use today.’ You looked around to make sure Neteyam wasn’t near you as you spoke. ‘You are more acrobatic and faster than him and I am sure you will do a better job at climbing the mountains than he did.’
Lo’aks eyes searched yours for reassurance and you could see a little confidence coming back. He placed one hand on top of yours, which still rested on his shoulders. You two stared into each other’s eyes for a moment and for you, it felt like the whole world stood still. You wished the best for your friend, and you knew he would complete his iknimaya and come back with a beautiful ikran, you would celebrate his victory together.
A voice came through the opening of the kelku, making you shift your attention back to reality. ‘Bro, are you ready? We’re all waiting for you.’
Lo’aks eyes shifted from yours to the source of the voice. You also turned around and saw Neteyam standing there, holding the flap that separated the kelku from the outside world. He was wearing his cummerbund, a sign that he completed his iknimaya.
‘I am ready,’ Lo’ak said as he stood up. You stood up too, ready to wish your best friend good luck. You were not allowed to come with him for his iknimaya, something you grieved deeply. You knew what the rite of passage was, but you had never seen it. You wished to be able to experience it yourself, but most, you wanted to be there to support your friend. Of course, only experienced hunters and warriors were allowed to come because it would be too dangerous for others if they joined the rite of passage, especially a human. The na’vi boy turned to you and spread his arms, inviting you in for a hug. You immediately threw your arms around his waist, holding him as tight as you could. The truth was, that you were scared. Some did not survive their iknimaya and you were afraid your best friend would be one of them. You didn’t know what you would do if he would die today, but you tried not to think about it too much.
‘Good luck, Lo’ak,’ your voice was muffled by the hug as tears welled up in your eyes. You tried to blink them away quickly; you couldn’t show him how scared you were or else he would lose all his confidence. ‘I believe in you.’ It was true. You believed he could do it. You were just afraid Eywa had other plans in mind. You let go of your embrace and looked up at him. His eyes looked nervous, but his face showed determination.
Lo’ak smiled at you, and the sight made your heart flutter. ‘Thank you, tanhì (star). I will see you tonight.’ He walked towards his brother, who was still holding the flap open for him to walk through. You followed him as he walked outside, Neteyam walking behind you.
‘Goodbye, my friend. Eywa ngahu (may Eywa be with you),’ you said as you wished him goodbye. You watched the boys walk towards their father, who was standing next to other na’vi who were going with Lo’ak.
As the boys reached their father, Lo’ak turned around one last time and you gave him a reassuring nod. Jake put a hand on his back and guided him forward, while putting his hand to his forehead, wishing you goodbye.
The day felt long. Very long. You tried to make the time go faster by hanging out with Kiri and Tuk. You had gathered some fruits for the celebration that night and you were now wrapping them in the so-called nikt’chey (food wraps), to store them for the night. The three of you divided the tasks strategically. Kiri was peeling the fruits while you wrapped them in a leaf. You would then give the wrap to Tuk who would wrap vines around it to keep it closed.
‘There are taking a long time out there,’ you stated as you put some fruit slices on a leaf.
‘That happens sometimes,’ Kiri said while peeling a banana fruit. ‘Maybe he has some trouble with his ikran.’
‘Is it... a bad sign?’ you asked Kiri while you passed the leaf to Tuk, who seemed to be a pro at wrapping the vines. Whenever you did it though, it looked more like an angtsìk had trampled a pile of scraps. Tuk, on the other hand, made it look elegant and even though the vines were wrapped around the leaf firmly, they were easy to untie.
‘Not necessarily. Some ikrans fight more than others, so it takes more time to form a bond.’ Kiri noticed you were worried and laid her hand on your arm, which made you stop. ‘He will be fine,’ she said as she rubbed your arm reassuringly.  You nodded and smiled up at her. Kiri felt like a sister to you, she was the girl you would come to talk about your problems, and she would always have a solution. She was the girl who would hold you when you cried and not let go until you calmed down. Her presence felt like a warm embrace; it was comforting, and it immediately calmed you down.
‘Will you and Lo’ak be mates?’ Tuk asked out of the blue. You shifted your eyes from Kiri to her younger sister who was still wrapping the vines innocently, not realising what she just asked. You looked at Kiri who had the same expression on her face as you. Her eyes were wide of surprise, and she looked at you expectantly. Kiri didn’t know about your feelings for Lo’ak; no one did. The day you realised you had feelings for him, you swore you would keep this to yourself. You were afraid they would think you are weird or that somebody would tell him. You knew you could trust Kiri with your secret, but it still didn’t feel right. If you told her, it would become real. Now you could hide from your feelings in the hope of them going away. This way you wouldn’t have to face the fact that your friendship might fall apart.
‘Erm...’ you swallowed as you looked at your hands. ‘Tuk, I am human. Me and Lo’ak can never be mates.’ The words felt heavy as they left your lips. They hurt because they were true.
The young girl finally looked up to you, her ears were pinned back slightly, and her tail was tapping the ground in frustration. ‘But you are so cute together!’
A smile crept on your face hearing those words. ‘Why don’t we continue wrapping this fruit, hm? We cannot show up with empty hands tonight.’ Although you thought her exclamation was adorable, you didn’t feel like talking about Lo’ak anymore. If he completed his rite of passage, he would choose a mate. You were so excited about him finally getting an ikran, being able to make his bow out of the wood of their hometree and to officially be an adult, that you forgot about the most significant part. Your heart shattered just thinking of Lo’ak with another girl. You wrapped up your last leaf and then looked at Kiri, waiting for her to pass the fruit. She was looking at you and you knew she saw the way you struggled telling Tuk you and Lo’ak wouldn’t be mates. You tried to avoid eye contact as you grabbed another leaf. ‘Kiri, can you pass me some fruit?’
Kiri didn’t have much time to response for the horns sounded in the distance, meaning your best friend had returned. You dropped the fruit you were holding and ran through the entrance of the kelku, Tuk and Kiri not far behind you.
Tuk ran up to you and grabbed your arm in excitement. ‘They are back, they are back!’ You couldn’t help but laugh at her enthusiasm. ‘Come on, let’s go!’ she pulled your arm and ran to the commotion that was already forming. Even though Tuk was still a child, she was very strong, and she dragged you with her easily. She pushed you through the crowd and the moment you neared the clearing, your heart sank. Your best friend was carried by his father. You couldn’t see what was wrong, but you did notice he was unconscious. Your mind was racing, coming up with different scenarios about what could have happened. You didn’t notice the loud voices around you, calling the Tsahik, until someone tugged at your arm. It was Tuk, begging you to come along. You didn’t know where she wanted to go, but you just nodded and followed her lead.
Everything felt like a blur. Your best friend, the boy you were madly in love with, was hurt. What if he fell off a cliff? Or what if an ikran tried to kill him? Your mind wouldn’t stop thinking about the worst possible scenarios, you shook out of it when the light around you shifted from bright to dark. You blinked a couple of times and as you looked, you noticed you were in the Tsahik’s hut. You took hold of Tuktirey’s hand as your heart was racing whilst you walked forward to where Lo’ak was laying. Mo’at was hunched over him, and you saw she was cleaning blood from his left leg.
You didn’t recognise your voice when you spoke. It sounded weak, uncertain and rasp. ‘What happened?’
‘An ikran bit his leg,’ Jake sighed as he took a couple of steps toward you. You craned your neck to look at him and saw guilt in his eyes. ‘When he tried to get back on, the ikran threw him off.’ He looked at Lo’ak, whose leg was now bandaged, and took a couple of seconds to continue.
‘He fell off the cliff.’ His voice was nearly above a whisper. Your heart skipped a beat when those words left Jake’s mouth. The words you had been saying over and over in your head became a reality. What if Lo’ak didn’t survive?
You walked up to him and knelt beside him. His left cheek was bruised along with his eye. A cut went through one of his eyebrows and he had another one on his lips. Scanning his body for more injuries, you noticed the scratches on his right shoulder and arm, his other shoulder had turned a shade of deep purple, and you couldn’t help but look at his now bandaged leg. Tears welled up in your eyes at the thought of him falling down such a height.
You looked at Mo’at, who was smearing a greenish paste on Lo’aks wounds. Even though he was unconscious, he groaned a little at the sensation. ‘Is he going to be okay?’
‘He is, but he needs to rest now.’ Mo’at didn’t look up from attending her grandchild’s wounds. Her voice sounded calming, and you believed she was right. The na’vi body was much stronger than a human’s. If it were you instead of Lo’ak, you wouldn’t have survived the fall. You were surprised about their strength every single time and it surprised you now that Lo’ak didn’t break any bones. You took hold of his non-injured hand as you looked at how the Tsahik patched up the wounds on your best friends’ body.
After a while, it got quiet in the tent. You looked around you and noticed everyone had left. Out of the corner of your eye, you noticed Spider coming in the tent. ‘Where did everyone go?’ you asked him.
‘Jake and Neytiri are arguing. Jake seems really upset so we’re going to listen. Are you coming?’ he asked, and you shook your head.
‘It is rude to eavesdrop, my child.’ Mo’at said while glancing at the human boy. Spider raised his brows at you, ignoring the tsahik’s comment, and had an expectant look on his face. He was asking you if you really didn’t want to join them. You always eavesdropped with your friends. Jake and Neytiri didn’t argue about nonsense, so it was usually about something that interested you. But today, you didn’t feel like going. You didn’t want to leave Lo’aks side.
‘I think I’ll stay with Lo’ak for now,’ you said. ‘But keep me informed, ma tsmukan (my brother).’ The boy nodded and left quickly.

Feelings for a friend?
Part 2.1 | Part 2.2
Pairing: Lo'ak x female human reader
Summary: You and Lo'ak have been best friends since you were just little children. But what happens when you slowly develop feelings for him?
Warnings: none
Word count: 2,8k
A/N: I had a lot of fun writing this one and I have a lot of ideas for a second or even a third part. Maybe I'll make this a small series :)
Tumblr media
You grew up on Pandora, the lab guys took care of both you and Spider. Growing up alongside him, he was like a brother to you, taking care of you when you were sick, exploring the forest together, playing tricks on each other and supporting each other when you needed it the most. You were inseparable, to say the least.
To both of you, the Sully’s were like family. You would come to the village when you were younger to play with the Omaticaya children. You developed a tight bond with the Sully’s, but the bond you had with Lo’ak was a special one. Whenever you two played together, it didn’t feel like you were a human, and he was na’vi. To you, your differences were non-existent. That’s what you liked about him so much; he didn’t treat you any differently from the others.
The only difference Lo’ak would constantly point out, was your height difference. Lo’ak loved how short you were compared to him. He loved it when you were four years old and he loves it now that you are older too. He would always call you ‘shorty’ and use your head as an armrest, something you didn’t mind at all. It was his way of showing affection towards you. In return, you would grab his tail, tugging at it slightly, earning a hiss from him before grabbing his tail and tucking it close to his body every single time. You thought his reaction was cute. But so was the way he slightly dips his head and blushes whenever he gets a compliment from you and the way his two braids fall in front of his face whenever his hair is tied up.
You never realized you were slowly falling in love with your best friend until you two went for a walk during nighttime. The day had been very hot, even for Pandoran weather. Most na’vi took it easy that day, only hunting on fish and staying in the shadows. The heat was difficult for humans, especially because the air was so humid, which is why most humans chose to stay inside that day, you included. It was only after eclipse when Lo’ak came over to ask if you wanted to explore the forest together.
You were in your bedroom, blasting the air-conditioning at the highest setting, laying on your bed reading magazines. You were looking at different type of outfits you wished you could wear. You didn’t have any human clothing on Pandora, except the lab guys did. They had offered you shirts and shorts in your size, but you refused every single time because you thought they were hideous. You wanted to make a statement with your clothing, but those boring khaki shorts and plain colored shirts were not doing it. That’s why you chose to wear na’vi clothes. You became quite skilled in making those and every piece of clothing you owned was made by you. Even some na’vi women liked the tops and loincloths you made and requested you made some for them too. Today you were wearing a top embraided with leaves and crystals and your loincloth was a beautiful shade of purple, the ties laying perfectly on your waist, really accentuating your figure.
‘What are you doing?’ you shrieked at the voice that suddenly came from behind you, though you didn’t have to turn around to know who it was.
‘Lo’ak, you skxawng!’ you laid your hand on your chest as you turned around and smacked your best friend on his arm, earning a chuckle from him. ‘You scared me.’
‘Oops, sorry not sorry.’ He grabbed the magazine that you were reading from the bed and started looking at the models posing on the pages. ‘Is this another one of your gossip thingy’s?’
‘It’s called a magazine,’ you said as you took it from his hand. ‘And it’s not gossip. I was looking at outfits.’
Your best friend raises his brows ‘outfits?’
‘The clothing humans wear,’ you said matter-of-factly.
‘Yes, I know what outfits are,’ Lo’ak rolled his eyes as he flipped through some pages. ‘But why? You don’t wear this.’
‘Because I like them.’ Lo’ak looked at you for a second and then back to the magazine, turning it around so that you could see what he was looking at.
‘What, this?’
The model on the picture was wearing high waist black flairs with a big brown leather belt. Her top was also black, but it had a V-shaped neckline embraided with gold-coloured lines and flowers. Over that she was wearing a burgundy red knitted cardigan, which reached her calf muscles. Her high heels matched her cardigan perfectly and her golden necklace also matched her top. She looked stunning.
‘Look at her! Her outfit is beautiful, I wish I could wear it.’ You said with enthusiasm.
‘Those shoes look uncomfortable.’ Lo’ak stated as he looked a little closer to the picture.
‘Fashion isn’t always comfortable.’ You took the magazine from him and laid it on your desk, on top of the other magazines you have read a thousand times.
‘You’re weird,’ Lo’ak chuckled and shook his head.
‘So are you. That’s why we get along so well.’ You smiled at your best friend and sat back on your bed. The na’vi boy put his mask to his face and took a breath before speaking again.
‘Do you want to explore tonight? I found a lake not so far from here, maybe we can swim.’ He looked at you expectantly; his ears were perked up and his tail was swaying enthusiastically. You looked at him for a moment, debating whether you wanted to go outside. In here you had air-conditioning and outside was way too hot for your liking. But exploring the forest with your best friend was always so much fun. Besides, you found the way he looked at you very cute; his eyes were glistening, and his lips had curled into a sweet smile. How can you say no to him?
‘I’d love that,’ you returned his enthusiasm as you jumped off your bed.
The walk in the forest was silent except for the sounds of the animals. You were looking at the beauty of the bioluminescence, creating a calm hue around you. It was still hot outside and within a couple of minutes of walking, you started sweating. ‘I am so jealous you don’t sweat,’ you puffed, looking at Lo’ak who was walking in front of you, making his way through the plants gracefully. ‘It’s so hot.’
Lo’ak suddenly turned around and stopped walking. You were so focused on talking that you didn’t notice him turning around. You walked straight into him and took hold of his arms to steady yourself. ‘Ngaytxoa (sorry), I didn’t notice you turned around.’ You looked up at him and noticed he was staring down at you, laughing.
‘It’s okay,’ the na’vi boy said as he looked into your eyes. You smiled up at him and noticed how beautiful his eyes were. They were a perfect shade of yellow and held so much compassion. His long, dark lashes really complimented them. What also complimented Lo’ak were his bioluminescent freckles that created a beautiful pattern on his face. You started following the pattern with your eyes, mesmerized by their beauty. You looked at the way they climbed up his nose and onto his forehead, creating a beautiful pattern that followed his stripes.
‘What are you looking at?’ Lo’aks question took you out of your trance.
‘Nothing,’ you said quickly as you looked at the ground beneath your feet, hoping he wouldn’t see the blush that had crept on your cheeks. Did he really notice you staring at him? You heard the boy chuckle as he grabbed your hand and took you with him, continuing the path you were walking before.
‘I want to show you something.’ He pulled aside a branch with huge leaves, making an entrance to the most beautiful scenery you have ever seen in your life. Lo’ak guided you forward and gently released your hand as you stepped into the open space, looking around in awe. In front of you was a small lake, covered by various vines and branches, creating a small, secluded area. Around the lake were numerous amounts of plants that made some sort of barrier, their bioluminescence creating a calming atmosphere. You stepped one foot into the lake, feeling its cool water coming to life around your ankle. It was a relief to finally be able to cool down from the warmth of the day.
‘Lo’ak,’ you started, but you didn’t know what to say. This place was so mesmerizing, it left you speechless. You turned around to face him and noticed that he had come through the opening and was now standing close to you. He crouched down to your height and smiled at you.
‘I came across this place when I was hunting yesterday, and it made me think of you. I thought you might like it here.’ The smile that crept on your lips became bigger and bigger by the second.
‘Oh, Lo’ak, I love this place! It is so beautiful.’ You looked around you in awe again before turning back to him. ‘I don’t know what to say,’ you whispered as you threw your arms around his neck, standing on your tippy toes to properly give him a hug. ‘Irayo (thank you).’
The boy put his big arms around you and embraced you in his warmth. His embrace made you feel comfortable and at home. If only you could feel like this all the time, you would do anything to feel his embrace forever. ‘Do you want to get into the water?’ he asked as he released his arms from around you. You nodded as you turned around to face the water again. As soon as you took a couple of steps into the water, a chill goes down your spine. The water was cold. Not too cold, but enough to cool down from the heat of the day. You didn’t notice Lo’ak going into the water before he spoke.
‘Is it too cold?’ the water already reached above his waist as he stood in the middle of the lake. How did he get in so fast? You shook your head.
‘No, it’s not too cold. It’s just a little chilly.’ You took a couple of steps toward your friend, but stopped as soon as the water reached your belly. You always needed more time to adjust to the temperature switch from the hot air to the cold water. You took a deep breath and took another slow step forward. You looked at Lo’ak who was still standing in the same place, smirking at you.
‘You sure, shorty?’ You splashed some water toward him in response.
‘I just need to get used to the temperature.’ ‘I can help you with that,’ Lo’ak said with a devilish smirk on his face. Your eyes grew wide as he took a couple of steps forward. You wanted to run away from him, but before you could even turn around, a pair of big hands took a hold of your waist and pulled you down into the water.
‘Lo’ak, no!’ you shrieked before you were pulled down, getting immersed by the cold water. You reached back to the surface as fast as you could, and you could hear laughter as soon as you stuck your head out of the water.
‘You skxawng!’ you said as you splashed water towards your friend, laughing even though you were a bit chilly now. The water was a bit colder than you expected.
‘What? You were taking too long!’ Lo’ak smirked as he saw you swimming toward an overhanging branch. It wasn’t too high; when you finished climbing and finally sat down, your feet were dangling in the water.
‘I’m cold now,’ you said as a shiver ran down your spine. ‘And it’s all because you pulled me down!’
‘You would have gotten cold either way,’ the na’vi said as he walked towards you. ‘I just sped up the process.’ He was now standing in front of you, and you were thankful of the branch you were sitting on because now you could finally look at his face without having to crane your neck. You noticed he was getting closer to you as he put his hands on either side of you, resting on the branch. You caught yourself by surprise as your breath hitched in your throat and you felt butterflies in your stomach. Were you nervous? If so, why? You had never felt this way around Lo’ak before.
‘If I would have had the chance to get used to the temperature, I would not be as cold as I am now.’ You tried to focus on the conversation, but you found your eyes constantly shifting to his lips. They looked so soft and so kissable.
‘Going slow only makes it worse,’ he said, but you weren’t listening. Your mind was racing with thoughts. You didn’t understand these feelings. You just realized that every time Lo’ak spoke your name, you had this funny feeling in your stomach. You enjoyed when you would hang out and it would just be the two of you. You enjoyed laying on your bed together and watching movies or listening to music, but that is normal for friends, right? You thought he was beautiful, and you would study his features whenever you had the chance. The thought of how kissable his lips looked, only now occurred to you. You were taken aback by these thoughts and your puzzled look didn’t go unnoticed by Lo’ak.
‘Y/n?’ he asked. ‘Everything okay?’ There it was again: that feeling in your stomach. It only worsened when Lo’ak put his hands on your shoulders. It was when he started shaking you that you got back from your thoughts.
‘Hmm?’ you hummed as you saw him looking at you with worry in his eyes. ‘Are you okay, y/n?’ he asked again. You only now realized that you zoned out in front of him.
‘Oh, Eywa,’ you shook your head ‘I am sorry Lo’ak. I got lost in my thoughts. I didn’t realize you were talking to me.’ You took hold of one of his hands that were still resting on your shoulders and squeezed it slightly.
‘What were you thinking about? You were looking puzzled.’ He squeezed your hand back and let his other hand fall from your shoulder as he jumped on the branch, taking a seat next to you. The branch moved much more from his weight than it did from yours, and you only now realized that you were not na’vi. It’s not like you didn’t know that you were human before. You were just so used to being with the na’vi that the difference never crossed your mind.
The flutters in your stomach you got from being around Lo’ak now troubled you. You weren’t sure if you were in love with him because you have never been in love before, but if you were, you were in for a lot of heartbreak. It would never work out because he is na’vi and you’re human.
You wanted to tell him about your inner conflict and opened your mouth, but you reconsidered quickly. He couldn’t find out about this. He would think you are weird, and he would not want to be your best friend anymore. That’s why you replied with the easiest answer: ‘nothing.’ You bowed your head and looked at your hands that were still intertwined. His hand was so big compared to yours. If it wouldn’t work out because of your species, then it wouldn’t work out because of your difference in size.
Lo’ak furrowed his brows as he took a stronger hold on your hand, making you look up to him again. ‘Tanhì (star), I know that look. Something is bothering you. Why won’t you tell me?’ A slight brush crept up your cheeks hearing the nickname he sometimes called you. You looked into his eyes and saw genuine worry. You wanted to tell him, but you couldn’t. You didn’t want to ruin your friendship.
You sighed and bowed your head. ‘I’m not sure what’s bothering me,’ you spoke slowly, taking each word in consideration. ‘I have a lot of things on my mind, but I’m not sure if I’m ready to talk about it yet. I think I must sort it out for myself first.’
It took a couple of seconds for him to respond. ‘That’s fine,’ Lo’ak said eventually as he put his arm around you and squeezed your shoulder slightly. ‘I’ll always be here for you.’ A smile crept on your face as you leaned into him, resting your head on his side.
‘Thank you, my ‘eylan (friend).’ ‘You’re welcome, ma y/n.’

Okie dokie! Here is a fluffy idea: reader and tsireya spend the day collecting shells and they create matching jewelry!
They can be either romantic or platonic! Good luck! 🩵💙🩵💙🩵💙
The beginning of your new life
Pairing: Tsireya x Omaticaya reader (platonic)
Summary: when you left for Awa'atlu with the Sully's, you had a hard time adapting. Lucky for you, a certain Metkayina girl was there to guide you through it.
A/N: KaltxĂŹ, thank you for your request. I had a lot of fun writing this fic and I hope you'll enjoy reading it! Instead of creating matching jewelry, I decided on matching tops since that works better for the story. I hope this is what you had in mind. Enjoy!

For as long as you can remember, the Na’vi have been at war with the humans who were trying to take over Pandora. Your parents have fought in this seemingly never-ending war, trying to protect their beloved world. Both of your parents were skilled warriors, one of the best of your clan, a trait that you inherited. Their love for Eywa combined with the bond they had with their clan was a special one.
One day the humans struck again, destroying a big part of the forest. Your clan fought hard that day, but their bows and arrows were no match for the powerful machinery the sky people used. It was on this day that both of your parents lost their lives.
Mo’at held you while you were crying, sitting on her lap. The thunders of bombs hitting the ground and destroying the forest rang through your body, making you panic. You wanted to be with your parents, wanted to be snuggled up in their arms, but you couldn’t because they were out on the battlefield.
‘Mawey (stay calm), my child,’ Mo’at whispered as she scratched your back comfortably. ‘It will be over soon.’
You trusted her because she had always been right. Your parents always came back. Everyone always came back. But somehow, this time felt different. You had begged your parents not to fight on that day because you knew they wouldn’t come back.
And you were right. They didn’t come back that day. Very little came back.
It was on that day that the Sully’s decided to take you in. It took you a while to settle in, the grief of losing your parents never leaving. It took you years to feel like yourself again and you needed a lot of support from your family.
When Jake decided to leave the forest, you were devastated. You didn’t want to leave your home behind. Your home which held all the memories you had with your parents. The home which carried memories of you with your siblings and friends.
The first few weeks with the Metkayina were difficult. You had a hard time adjusting to your new way of living. You weren’t too fond of the sea; you couldn’t hold your breath for very long which made it hard to dive deep into the water. Because you weren’t used to swimming so much, you were slow and easily exhausted, which made you afraid that you were seen as easy prey for whatever lurked under the water.
You also weren’t very fond of the Metkayina. They looked different than you; your tail wasn’t as big as theirs and your arms and legs weren’t developed for swimming. Some Metkayina made fun of these traits, which is why you didn’t feel at home at all.
Luckily, there was a certain Metkayina girl that didn’t make fun of your differences. She accepted you for who you are, and she was patient when you tried to dive into the water but swam back to the surface rather quickly because you couldn’t hold your breath for much longer.
You used to find comfort in the fact that Lo’ak also had trouble adjusting to your new lives. You sat with him a lot, staring at the stars and reminiscing about your life back in the forest, sharing your happiest memories. It really helped you forget about where you were at that moment.
You both practiced with Tsireya every day, trying to hold your breath and to slow your heart rate. She took you both into the water and taught you to dive deeper every day. She used seashells for you to gather. You weren’t surprised when Lo’ak was first to grab the shell from the bottom of the sea. While he was diving, you went up to the surface for air at least three times. After this, Tsireya helped you even more. She practiced with you every single day for weeks. You became good friends and every day your friendship grew, and you were able to hold your breath a little longer each day.
‘I don’t think I can do this,’ you sighed as you stuck your head out of the water for what felt like the 100th time that day.
‘I think that you can do this, y/n,’ Tsireya said. ‘You have to let go of your fear.’
‘I know, but I can’t help it. I am not born from the sea. I am born from the forest, I’m Omaticaya. I am supposed to fly my ikran and climb the trees, and to breathe! I am not made for swimming; I am too slow. What if something comes after us when we’re swimming? You can swim away quickly, but I can’t.’ you threw your hands in the air while you complained about the sea. You knew every part of the forest, every shortcut in case you were attacked. You used to hunt in the forest and here you didn’t do anything. You couldn’t stay under water for long enough; you felt useless.
Tsireya looked at you with empathy while she grabbed your hands. ‘Y/n, you are the bravest woman I have ever met.’ She took a moment to think before her blue eyes locked into your golden ones. ‘My mother had a vision from Eywa. She saw you in these waters. You were hunting and you brought back one of the biggest fishes we’ve ever seen.’
You shook your head and let go of her hands. ‘You are just saying that because I am scared.’
‘I would never lie to you. You are my best friend and I believe you can do this. I know that my mother was telling the truth. She is Tsahik, Eywa told her this.’ You looked at your best friend reluctantly. Even if she was telling the truth, it wouldn’t change how you felt about the sea. It is a dangerous place, and you were a very easy prey.
‘Your parents and siblings needed their time to adjust too. Lo’ak needed even longer than the others, and he succeeded. What makes you think that you can’t do it too?’
You thought for a second. What was so different about your family? Why should they be able to do it, but you can’t? You smiled a little. There was no reason why you wouldn’t be able to dive.
‘If they can do it, then I can do it too.’ You tried to speak with confidence, ignoring the shaky breath you took.
‘Exactly.’ Tsireya smiled too. ‘You’ve got it in you, y/n. I know it. And if you can dive a little longer, we can gather some pretty shells and make necklaces with it!’
And so, you practiced more and more every day. You were able to dive deeper every day, growing your confidence as well.  You were forever grateful for your best friend. Without her help, you’d still be stuck in the beginning.
A couple of weeks go by before you practised with the shell again. Tsireya picked out a very beautiful pink shell. Maybe if I catch this one, I can use it for a necklace, you thought.
‘Remember what we practised, y/n.’ Tsireya said as she threw the shell. ‘Take a deep breath and slow down your heart rate. You can do this.’
You nodded and took a deep breath in, thinking of the words Tsireya had been repeating for weeks. The way of water has no beginning and no end. You took another deep breath in and dove into the water. The sea is around you and in you. You dove deeper and deeper into the water, trying to remember where the shell had landed. The sea is your home. You kept diving and a jolt of joy shot through your body when you saw the pink hue of the shell laying on the bottom of the sea. Before your birth and after your death. You reached for the shell and after you grabbed it, you took a moment to look around you. You could see all the gorgeous plants and fishes around you, their bioluminescence making it look heavenly. The sea gives, and the sea takes. You smiled to yourself, feeling proud for finally being able to dive to the bottom of the sea. You looked up to the surface and saw Tsireya looking into the water, smiling proudly at you. You put your feet to the sand and pushed yourself upwards, remembering the final words you had learned by heart. Water connects all things – life to death and darkness to light.
You proudly held your hand up high when you reached the surface. As soon as you were above the water, you started laughing proudly. ‘Tsireya, I did it!’
The Metkayina girl took the shell from your hand and laughed with you. ‘You finally did it! I am so proud of you, ma ‘eylan (my friend)’.
‘Let’s gather some more shells,’ you said. ‘I want to add some to my songcord.’ And so, you did. You both dove to the bottom of the sea to gather the most stunning shells in all sorts of varying colours.
‘These shells would make a beautiful top,’ Tsireya signed to you as she took a better look at the handful of shells you had gathered. The sign language the reef people used to communicate under water was something you learned quite easily. It was one of the first skills you completely mastered. You looked at the different kind of shells you had in your hand and even though the Metkayina clothes were not comparable to the clothes the Omaticaya wore, you thought it would indeed make a stunning top.
‘We should make matching ones!’ you signed back, your friend smiled back in agreement. She showed you a handful of shells she gathered, varying from white to green and grey to brown. ‘They are perfect for your skin tone,’ you said before signalling that you needed to take some breaths before continuing your search.
At the end of the day, you and Tsireya laid out all the shells you found that afternoon and decided on what your tops will look like. You both decided on a typical Metkayina style top that made you look very elegant. The tops were a symbol of your friendship and for you it was also a reminder of the beginning of your new life.

A birthday to remember
Kaltxì, everyone 🤌🫴
These are my first headcanons on this account. If you have any tips, feel free to let me know :)
Summary: you never expected to celebrate your birthday on Pandora, but your friends have a nice surprise for you.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
Your birthday used to be a very special day to you back on earth. This birthday however, you weren't on earth; you were on Pandora.
You knew that the Na'vi don't celebrate birthdays, so you were expecting your birthday to be a day like every other.
Except for the Sully and Metkayina kids. They planned a nice surprise for you.
They knew how special this day was for you and because you were good friends with them, they wanted to host a birthday party for you (in their own way).
Lo'ak started it all. Out of the Sully and Metkayina kids, he was the most familiar with birthdays because of the stories both you and Jake told him.
He had the idea of everyone preparing a gift for you and he wanted to make a special treat, just like a birthday cake. Except, he didn't know how so he went to Kiri for advise.
Kiri suggested to make a big feast consisting of different kinds of fruits, veggies and fish.
Ao'nung and Lo'ak gathered some fish while Tsireya and Kiri gathered fruits and veggies.
They even told Jake, Neytiri, Ronal and Tonowari about their plan and they decided to join them in their preparations. Ronal and Neytiri made the feast from the ingredients that the children gathered.
In the meantime Rotxo swam to the bottom of the ocean to gather some pearls for you. He chose the biggest and most shimmery ones. Tsireya also dove deep into the ocean, but instead of searching for pearls, she searched for the most colorful seashells.
Neteyam and Tuk went a little into the forest behind the village to look for some crystals.
Tuk also helped Spider to create some beautiful beads for you hair. They made them in different colours to match your hair and skintone perfectly, they even carved some dazzling figures in it (Tuk carved most of them because Spider kept messing it up, but he did colour all of the beads.
Kiri and Tsireya made a necklace out of the pearls, seashells and crystals that everyone had collected.
Even though Tonowari did not understand why they would celebrate your birthday (because why would everyone give you a present just because you've gotten a year older?), Jake convinced him to host a small party for you. Some of the clans best musicians would be there to perform at the party
After the communal dinner with the clan, you decided to go to the lab and binge watch gilmore girls all night long. Except Lo'ak stopped you.
'Where are you going?' he asked while jogging to catch up on you.
'To the lab,' you answered shortly, feeling a bit gloomy. Sometimes you missed earth, especially on you birthday.
'Don't go just yet,' Lo'ak answered as he softly took a hold of your arm. 'I want to show you something.'
Lo'ak then took you back to Awa'atlu and the sound of drums and singing filled your ears before you spotted a huge bonfire with people dancing and singing around it.
Tuk ran up to you as soon as she saw you and gave you a hug, wishing you a happy birthday, before she took your hand and dragged you to the bonfire where your friends were waiting.
They all wished you a happy birthday before giving you their gifts. Kiri and Tsireya gave you their necklace first. It was a big necklace, decorated with pink shells and white pearls. The purple crystals were small, but they really stood out against your skin, creating a perfect blend of light colours on you.
The beads that Spider and Tuk gave you were just as beautiful. They matched the colours of your necklace and the engravings consisted of different types of animals and flowers.
After you thanked everyone for their gifts, Ronal came with a huge plate filled with fruits, veggies and fish. It was a treat to the eye and you hoped that it tasted just as good as it looked.
You had a lot of fun during the evening and you sung and danced for as long as you legs could hold you.
You were very grateful of your friends and you never stopped thanking them.
This had to be the best night of your life and you would definitely prefer this over gilmore girls anytime.
