Jesus is called the Lion of the tribe of Judah in Revelation 5:5. Jesus’s earthly father —Joseph is a descendant of David, from the tribe of Judah.

10 Hezekiah begot Manasseh, Manasseh begot Amon, and Amon begot Josiah.

11 Josiah begot Jeconiah and his brothers about the time they were carried away to Babylon.

12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jeconiah begot Shealtiel, and Shealtiel begot Zerubbabel.

13 Zerubbabel begot Abiud, Abiud begot Eliakim, and Eliakim begot Azor.

14 Azor begot Zadok, Zadok begot Achim, and Achim begot Eliud.

15 Eliud begot Eleazar, Eleazar begot Matthan, and Matthan begot Jacob.

16 And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ.

The name “The Lion of the Tribe of Judah” refers to Jesus’s earthly ancestry.

19. The Light of The World

John 8:12  – Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

Jesus is the light of the world because by His life and His words, He leads us to understand and do God's will. John 3: 19 - 21 And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.”

Jesus is the light of the world because He leads us to the presence of God, which is called His Marvelous Light. He teaches us how to have fellowship with God. 1 Peter 2: 9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 1 John 1: 5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

Jesus is the light of the world because He enlightens us. John 1: 9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.

Jesus is the light of the world that has overcome the darkness of this world. John 1: 4,5 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

Jesus is the light of the world because He shows us how to walk in the light. 1 John 1: 5-10 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

In John 15:1-5, Jesus Christ says “I am THE TRUE VINE…you are the branches…”

Abiding or remaining in Jesus Christ — the True Vine — means continuing in a daily, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, characterised by trust, prayer, obedience, and joy.

12. The Living Water

Jesus said “whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst.”

If water signifies life, then the living water is abundant life. Anyone who drinks of this living water that Jesus gives will have abundant life, they will also be a source of abundant life.

Come to Jesus today and drink of the living water he gives.

The Church refers to those who believe in Jesus Christ and are together pressing towards Heaven as they seek to please God by doing God’s will.
