Hi i love the wrong twin au its so freakin interesting and i ALSO had the idea that when future leo gets to the future hes like "ah yeah im dead" bc like what other reason IS there?? SO I forgot that my pride post gave some insight on that. so heres basically the dynamics

For Donnie, he basically sees Nardo as well, an imposter. The portal that Mikey had made, well it was supposed to bring his twin. And OBVIOUSLY this isn't him. It doesn't help that some are treating Nardo as a replacement for little Leo. So Donnie just has a lot of resentment right now for the veteran. It also doesn't help that Twin sense is involved. I haven't gotten too much into that part of the AU, but lets just say it makes things...interesting.

Raphie will eventually warm up to Nardo, but in the mean time its mostly quite awkward. Raphies not sure what to make of the turtle, and already blames himself for the 'death' of his little brother. So Nardo is a bit of a constant reminder of that. He doesn't resent him per say, just has a lot of confusing emotions tied with him. Still the snapping turtle is nothing but polite to Nardo.

Mikey is quite the opposite in reaction. He knows Nardo isn't Leo, but he also knows the veteran is also dealing with, well ✨Trauma✨. Mikey kinda adopts the turtle as an older brother/uncle, and trys to make him feel as normal as possible. Nardo still is a constant reminder that Leo isn't here, but Mikey has a easier time seeing the differences and dividing the two into different people.

Nardo still very much believes he is dead, because why else would all this family be here? For splinter, he'd rather believe his son aged significantly in the prison dimension than have died. Another AU!

I call it "Wrong Twin AU"

Basically what's going on is that some point during the Apocalypse Don ends up trapping one of the main Kraang in the prison dimension (I've been thinking Sister Kraang). Due to my version of the prison dimension. (A place that's made so you feel hunger and lack of sleep and isolation but don't actually need any of it to survive) He's been living there, fighting Sister Kranng (who he kills before little Leo (Leo) gets there) and just trying to deal with being completely cut off from his family. SO fast forward (or Backwards?) When Leo gets stuck in the prison dimension F!Donnie (Don) sees him, and because mystic mojo can suck, the portal disappears last second for Leo and Don, and Donnie and the others get F!Leo (Nardo). So There would be a LOT of angst but also fluff and healing but eventually our two turtles stuck in the PD would eventually get out and join the others in that timeline. (not without help from F!Mikey and F!Raph).

This would also be interesting if we add Twin Sense to the whole mix
