REUNION CRUISE

@deancasreversebang 2025 - Part II 😊 And this time I accidentally went for a mixed media approach by handing in my first DeanCas manip for art claims :D When planning the now-banner, I blended JenMish photos to see how the composition could look and realized: Wait, DCRB allows edits! For the second artwork I needed a very specific look to match the scene, so it was easier to draw them again (+ I've wanted to use that reference forever). But whenever I can skip drawing backgrounds, I'm on board (visual pun indeed intended) 😂 The cruise ship background photos were found on unsplash :)

Heh, this concept has been haunting me since the beginning of my DeanCas days. With the late 2024 "Wicked" movie release and the @deancasreversebang right around the corner, I just had to give it another shot!

Playing with Dean's hair color and putting them both in some fancy clothes has been SO much fun! My first Wicked/SPN art from 2021 featured clothing inspired by the Musical version (also attached below the cut), but this time, I tried to replicate the movie's look a bit more :)

I positioned Jones in front of me, letting her lead. Lafitte was bringing up the rear. It seemed odd that as soon as Jones cleared a section, flames would erupt from somewhere near her.

The walls, a light socket, even the ceiling! Added, if we weren’t close to the initial point it seemed the fire snaked its way across the floor toward us. As if it was seeking us out.

The initial point of fire was also changing colors indicating it was heating up, turning from red and orange to blues and whites. Eventually, Lafitte passed me and I hanged back but caught up. After they were outside I turned to do a final check, to make sure no one was calling out. What I noticed was trails of flames that were running across the floor. It was in areas we were all in, like someone had poured a trail for the flames to follow.

“Winchester?” Captain asked.

“Coming, Captain Hascum.” 

I was nearing the door when the voice rang out. Your fault.

I spun around expecting someone to be there, but the room was empty. Just white hot flames licking the ceiling, trailing across the floor, blazing through sofas and desks. A hand dropped on my shoulder, and I swear even with fifty pounds of weight, I jumped ten feet off the ground.

“Easy, Cher, it’s just me. You okay?”

“Yeah, yeah I’m fine. Let’s get the hell out of here.” 

Flames seemed to leap at Benny as we exited the building. 

“All clear.” I called.

Outside the building was pure chaos. There were more stations present now, each one having hoses on full. Four were focused on the roof up on ladders high above us. Chief Singer was also on the scene, he seemed to have taken over Captain Hascum’s command. I went right to him. He was giving out directions initially, so I turned to view the building and found flames were now leaping out the windows, engulfing the door we just came out of. But, I swore for a brief moment I saw a boy standing there.

This year I tasked these horrific creatures with a reverse round and they really ate the competition. Below the cut, you'll find things beyond any human comprehension.. Viewer beware, you're in for a scare.

Any Way That You Want Me | M | 10,455 It should have been a cake walk. Get in, investigate the haunted house, and figure out where to dig, salt and burn. But when Cas somehow gets cursed - trapped inside the house's mirrors - Dean finds himself in a race against time. Each day Cas' strength is fading. It's up to Dean to find a solution by digging through the house and the belongings of the former owner.

As far as job opportunities go, replacing the previous night guard of fifty years at the Nebraska Museum of Natural History wasn't Dean's first choice, but a job was a job. Especially considering he got fired from his last job and was in need of the money. However, said job proves to be more difficult than described.

Faced with strange events revolving around one of the exhibits he was tasked with guarding, an angel statue that was more than what it seemed to be, he must unravel the mysteries that arise as a result. Why did the angel statue come to life each night? Why did an unknown number keep messaging him the same sequence of numbers? Saving lives is what he does. For my final collab, I was very lucky to get claimed by the super talented @artemis-73 who - although never having delved into writing horror before - brought my DeanCas prompt to life in the best and goriest way possible 🔪 Maia, it's been such a pleasure getting to know you and working on this with you! The fic turned out amazing and I loved how we creatively bounced off of each other. Hopefully our collab paths will cross again 😁❤️

Summary:

Few areas in the world are subject to the polar night phenomenon, a period where the sun never rises above the horizon.

When Castiel Novak reaches out to the Winchesters for help, convinced that vampires are about to descend upon one such town during the upcoming polar night, the boys head up to Point Hollow, Alaska to clear the nest before night falls.

What was meant to be a three-day stay devolves into sixty-five days of bloodshed and darkness as resources dwindle and bodies start dropping. Overwhelmed by the calculated organization of the creatures and the size of their nest, it quickly becomes clear that there’s more to the ‘vampires’ than initially seemed.

They’re cunning, they’re ancient, and they’re powerful—and they’ll stop at nothing to be satisfied. But between the starving people and starving creatures, Dean manages to find solace in Castiel—who just might be holding a secret himself. A secret that is key to destroying the creatures and their master, once and for all.

COMMUNION

For my second of three @deancashorrorfest collabs I got paired with the lovely @entropic-saudade 💕 Thank you so much for choosing my "lost, bloody, shirtless" Dean prompt and putting so much effort and heart into the story, saudade! 🥰 It was SO much fun to experiment with darker tones in contrast to Northern Lights for this one.

I'm really happy with how they turned out and hope this Cas matches the initial Dean well. The super long Arctic darkness is definitely a very challenging, but still compelling visual.

Summary:

Castiel is trying to survive a camping trip in the Appalachians with his annoying fraternity brothers. At a nearby cabin, Dean is trying to clean up the remains of his and Sam’s recent vamp hunt. Both Dean and Castiel wouldn’t mind exploring their mutual attraction.

But there’s a problem: due to a series of misunderstandings, Castiel’s friends are convinced that Dean and Sam are serial killers. The fact that Castiel's friends keep dying in increasingly grisly ways doesn't help matters. Is there really a killer on the loose? And will Dean and Cas ever manage to score some alone time?

“The hell… did you even… do… to this one?” Dean asks, grimacing down at the vamp corpse they’re currently schlepping between them. It doesn’t just look decapitated — it looks fucking eviscerated. Half the torso is torn up, blood and guts spilling out in an untidy trail all down the cabin’s front steps and across the yard. They have to drag it by the legs instead of the arms, like they usually would. 

“Don’t know,” Sam says, shrugging as he pauses to study the mess too. He finally looks like he’s feeling the strain too, cheeks red and sweat pearling on his forehead, but Dean’s going to be the bigger man and not mention it. Or at the very least, he’s going to wait to tease Sam until he’s got enough of his breath back to do it properly. “Freshly sharpened blade I guess, and the guy moved right as I was swinging at him. Sliced clean through his torso.”

“Huh.” That may be true, but Dean’s also occasionally suspected his not-so-little brother of popping steroids to make him so freakishly large and strong. The current situation really ain’t helping Sam’s case. “Well, whatever. Let’s just get the fucker in the pit with the others.”

They move to do just that, but they don’t make it far. Because straight ahead, walking out of the woods towards them with a friendly smile and a dorky little wave, is Castiel. 

Dean can tell exactly the moment he clocks what’s going on — or thinks he does. The smile drops off his face, and his hand drops too, all of him seeming to sag lower all at once. He stares down at the mangled corpse Dean and Sam are dragging between them, blinking slowly at it, like he can’t quite believe this is happening to him.

Not that Dean can blame him. Of all the scenarios he dreamed up about him and Castiel meeting again, a badly disfigured vamp corpse didn’t figure into a single one of them.

“Fuck,” Castiel says — just that, but he gives it some real oomph. Like he’s never meant anything in his entire life the way he means that. 

 And then he spins around and runs for the trees. 

Just a couple of seconds too late, Dean finds his voice. “Cas, wait!” Cas? Where the hell did that come from? “I can explain!”

Cas, perhaps not surprisingly, doesn’t pay him any mind. He keeps running back towards the treeline, arms and legs pumping hard, and he—

—collides with a low-hanging branch. 

Cas goes down hard, sprawling onto his back on the forest floor, and Dean almost thinks he can feel the ground shake with the impact.  It’s like Cas said: fuck.
