— Cooking Confessions (Ni-ki x reader)

Word count : 821

Genre : fluff

A/N : This my first proper fic I’ve posted, please don’t bully me lol. This was also originally written about a 2nd gen group who will not be named bc I’m embarrassed. Pls let me know if you like it! Also I am open to doing a second part if you have any suggestions - 🫧

Trying to cook with Jay was difficult to say the least, the man wouldn’t let you near anything; despite him asking you to help out.

“Don’t touch that” he said for the fifth time since you had started. “You asked me to help out Jay, and now you’re not letting me do anything” you said slightly defeated, knowing Jay he probably didn’t mean any harm; he didn’t want you getting hurt and if you did, he knew he’d never hear the end of it, from yunjin, chaewon to Jake and especially Ni-ki and Jungwon.

“I know I asked you — just sit still, we can talk, hm?” He said sparing you a small smile and an even smaller glance, despite how they were bickering in the moment, they were actually really close; maybe it was due to him dating yunjin, you were never quite sure but what you did know was that you could confide in him without him sharing.

“Can I tell you something? — just promise not to tell anyone? Not even Jake, please?”You asked watching his back as he cooked something far too difficult for you. He nods Turning around and leaning against the edge of the counter, “you know you can tell me anything” he laughs.

“It’s about Ni-ki…” you look away, feeling the early stages of your inevitable blush creeping up your neck. “I just can’t stop thinking about him, I don’t know why” you sigh quietly and spares him a glance; “I thought, since you and him are so close, you could maybe help me? I just want to know how to deal with my feelings, you know?” You look back down at the counter, embarrassed after admitting to liking one of jays best friend.

“Hm” Jay was deep in thought after your confession, he hadn’t expected it, at least not about Ni-ki — yunjin had always suspected it would be Jungwon that you liked, she said it was the way you acted around each other; sharing small glances at each other during event and variety shows, trying to mask your smiles by looking away whenever the other was brought up and maybe in a sense she was right, Jungwon liked you, sadly he now realised that it was more than likely one sided.

“Jay? Answer me” you started to get restless, ‘what if I’ve just ruined something’ you thought, sure you didn’t know what you may have ruined but nonetheless you were scared. “I just wasn’t expecting it, that’s all” Jay looked at you and smiled before turning around to finish cooking, “maybe you should just talk to him, how hard could that be?” Heeseung said… wait Heeseung? You whipped your head around to look at him, standing in the doorway of his room, acting as if you just admitting to liking his band mate was nothing. “I cant just do that… what if he doesn’t see me the same way and I ruin everything — for everyone” you turn your head again and focus back on the stove, watching Jay stir whatever he was making.

Heeseung was long gone, probably into someone else’s room; no one had spoken yet, neither you nor Jay dared to say anything.

“Y/N?” Ni-ki asked smiling wide as he made his way out of his and sunghoon’s room. “Oh, Ni-ki!” You smiled and turned to face him, “I didn’t think you were here” he made his way over and sat on the bar stool next to you.

“Yeah, Jay invited me over; he asked me to help out…” you said laughs softly, Jay had invited you over to help out, he just wouldn’t let you.

As the night went on — members would come and go from the living room, by the end of the night it was just you, Ni-ki and Heeseung-

“I’m going to bed” Heeseung rose abruptly, “don’t stay up to late” he teased as he grabbed his things and set off for his room.

After things settled back down, you glanced at Ni-ki not expecting him to already be looking at you. “Y/N?” He asked softly, too softly. “Yeah?” You asked and quickly looked away

“I— Look, I need to get this off my chest; I like you, like really like you” he said quickly as he scrunched his eyes shut. Opening them again and carefully grabbing your hand, he continued “I can’t stop thinking about you, the smallest things you do make me go crazy” he smiles slightly

“I’m sorry if you don’t feel the same way I just—“ he’s cut off by you kissing him, slow, soft, deliberate.

Pulling away you keep your forehead on his, “I like you too Ni-ki” you smile “I’ve liked you since Jungwon introduced us”.

“Seriously?” Ni-ki asks with the cheesiest grin on his face, for someone who likes to be seen as nonchalant… he’s definitely not. “Of course” you said before he kissed you again.

🫧 Sieun who definitely likes to be praised, small things like you thanking him and acknowledging him after he helps you with something difficult

🫧 Sieun who gets silently jealous when you hang out with male friends, he’ll never explicitly let you know he doesn’t like it but the constant staring you and whoever you are will have to endure should speak volumes

🫧 Sieun who lends you his clothes, mainly his hoodies but if you asked he would give you whatever you wanted. He likes the idea of you wearing something of his, knowing that it’s a silent acknowledgment of your relationship

🫧 Sieun who is constantly staring at you, he will watch you from across the classroom; he’ll watch you hang out with your friends at lunch, but when you catch him and look his way, he instantly looks away and plays dumb when you ask about it later
