I'm so excited to play Disney Dreamlight Valley! It's out for Early access in less than 2 weeks! I heard about it a while ago and was one of the first 1000 followers on the Instagram page.
I like the character creator. It gives me a Sims CAS vibe. I do wish it was a little more complex to create the face. Say you wanted a villainous character it's very hard to do with the limited options.
Clothing was also lacking but I feel like because it's the demo we don't have that unlocked yet. I also know that Moonstones are a thing and that means paying for character upgrades down the line.
I ordered the Basic version for $29.99 because I'm not the biggest fan of the content in the Deluxe and Ultimate packs. I do hope there will be some way for custom content like The Sims because I love modding my games but I don't think that will happen with the in-game currency.
This is just my quick take of the demo and will play it fully on September 6!
Buy It Here! And don't forget to use OfficialAshley as the creator code! #EpicGamesPartner

Ancestry DNA Results
So recently I bought the Ancestry DNA test. I feel like between Ancestry and 23 and Me, which were my top two choices that Ancestry would have more DNA to compare to because it has been around much longer.
I get the test and send it back the next day. It's a very simple process you just spit into the tube, put the top on, shake, and you are done. Super simple and I thought it would take more saliva than it did.
So I kept track of it like once a week just to see where it was in the process. I think I was supposed to get texts and stuff but I don't remember if I ever did. I think it took about 3-4 weeks for it to come back.
Anyways the results came back and I wasn't really surprised. I knew from doing some previous digging into my family tree that some of my ancestors came from Wales, England, Germany, and the Netherlands. Most of my ancestors moved to America during the 1600's to mid 1700's. So they've been here in the US for a long time with most settling in the south east.
I know there is some Native American heritage by the research I've done as well as knowing that both of my grandmothers are a least 1/4. From what I understand about DNA, sometimes you don't get that DNA passed down. And sometimes the sites may not have enough data from certain groups to match you.
Tumblr media
I got Germanic Europe at 12% which is odd compared to the fact that both sides of my family both have ties to Germany and Austria. The site does give disclaimers like "Your ethnicity estimate is 12%, but it can range from 0—44%." Moving on I also got Norway, Swedan & Denmark as well as Cameroon, Congo & Western Bantu, and also Mali. All under 5%.
Then I also uploaded to MyHeritage to cross reference where It showed the UK at 76%, East Europe at 15%, and it added Finnish at 2.2%, as well as Middle Eastern at 5.7% which I was shocked by at first. But then with GEDMatch it made more sense.
Tumblr media
I found GEDMatch to be a great resource with the Eurogenes, Dodecad, and MDLP charts. They showed some American Indian to be up to 2% and the various African areas being up to 6%. It also introduced Asian into the mix at at about 11%. Which proably is the Middle Eastern that showed up on MyHeritage.

Now MyHeritage claims to have "High Confidence Levels" in my results but I'm not sure how far back their data goes or any of these sites to be fair. I feel like the more you look it can become very confusing, especially when using multiple sites. But they do all match to a certain extent.
With all of that being said, I do believe there is truth in the DNA results from sites like Ancestry, I'd say in most cases you can trust the outcome to some extent but remember it could slightly differ because each company has done different research with DNA from all kinds of people.
