something something when your body isnt your body, it belongs to San Jose Sports & Entertainment Enterprises, it belongs to millions of fans, it belongs to your father, it belongs to your team of nutritionists, skills coaches, trainers, and doctors. something something when every measurement of every piece of you is scattered across dozens of files, analyzed by dozens of people, when there's always a flaw to work on when it comes to your physical self, when you always need to have bigger muscles and a leaner build and a family-friendly media-sellable marketable look to your face, your teeth, your hair. something something when all of your baby pictures and childhood home videos and old hockey tapes are circulated on the web for millions of people to pick apart and analyze and dig into, almost like you belong to them, almost like privacy is a privelage that you forego if you want to be great. something something when you're just a teenage boy but the whole world knows your parents, your siblings, your ex-girlfriend, your old friends, your new friends, your teammates, your neighbors, and everybody wants a soundbite from them, and everybody has an opinion on them and on you in relation to them. 

something something you have a friend and not once has he posted something without asking you. something something he has dozens of photos and videos and silly stories and soundbites tucked in his back pocket but he doesn't give the world anything more, he doesn't share any of it, even though he could. no embarrassing flicks of you asleep on the bus, no vids of you doing something stupid or childish or goofy, no stories to the media or soundbites to the interviewers about something you did or said or texted in private. something something you finally have a space to just be a boy, not an athlete or the future face of a franchise or a generational talent or someone who needs to remember the real world wont be so easy on you, macklin, not a client or a skater or a patient, not macklin celebrini, 1oa. just mack.
