Wow, it's amazing how close I agree with you. Except Dean is straight and Cas wasn't in romantic love with Cas. Too bad they're wrong about that.

can you do meg/cas for the ask thing?

1. Oh man. I actually wasn’t super into megstiel when I first started getting unironically into spn. And then, of course, I followed @autisticandroids and my eyes were opened to the truth. Now I’m like. If the world is against megstiel then I am against the world. If there is one megstiel it is me. If there are no megstiels I am dead. Etc etc.

2. My FAVORITE thing about megstiel is that it is, quite simply, so extremely funny and so extremely sad at the same time. I LOOOOOVE how meg is in love with cas and cas is in love with dean. Its epic it’s tragic its fucking Shakespearean. But it’s also more complicated than that, because cas genuinely likes meg. Loves her, even. It’s just that he can never be wholly satisfied in that relationship because he is obsessed with dean. It makes me NUTS.

3. My unpopular opinion about megstiel is like. This is somewhat related to my feelings on every non-deancas ship but I REALLY don’t care for it when people act like meg is just temporary and will eventually fall to the wayside when dean gets his head out of his ass. Like I enjoy the tragic aspect where she’s in love with a guy who is obsessed with someone else, no matter how much he loves her back, but. That doesn’t mean that what meg and cas have is temporary, AND, furthermore, it isn’t any less important. So like. My hashtag unpopular megstiel opinion is that I think it could be endgame had meg not died in s8. I think that megstiel endgame could be fun, even. I think it slaps. What I’m saying is what if cas is road-tripping in the empty post 15x18 (presumably to get back to dean) and he reconnects with meg. Perhaps they even kiss. What I’m also saying is that one post 15x18 fic where cas is happily dating meg in heaven has so many rights.

- if she had been allowed to live, megstiel would have been canon so the producers would have had to put a shot of her wrapped up in cas' trench coat looking up at the camera with messy hair, and the sight of that glorious image would have instantly killed me and also cas, which is technically less than ideal

Probably on the later side of between now and never. Why would I watch something from someone who is obviously more invested in destiel? Seen too many megstiel fanvid plot twists where yall make it about destiel. So, I'm good.

Destiel shippers really go off and say that the writers would never do what they done to Dean and Cas if it a heterosexual pairing. Do they forget Megstiel, it was far more canon than Destiel ever was, they even kissed. It had exact same ending Meg sacrificed her life for Cas and was never mentioned again up until season 15. Just the same as Cas sacrificed life for Dean and Dean didn't care and never spoke about him again. The writers weren't homophobic they just hated Cas.

I’ve been thinking about organizing some type of event for Megstiel, and I wanted to see how many people would be interested, and how they’d want to contribute to decide what kind of event it could be (for now, my idea is a gift exchange, but with an open list of prompts for anyone to participate with extra fanworks or without needing to sign up for mutual gifts).

Here’s a survey with a few questions. It includes an open one for any suggestions you guys can think of at the end.

Since this post now includes a link, I have NO idea if it’ll appear in the tag. So I’m going to tag the Megstiel shippers I know (mutuals, people I see regularly in the tag, etc.), so you can help give the post a boost if you want ^-^

Fuck Stands. To keep the cash cow on giving, they have removed all doubt they ain't just about squeezing the last dollar from destiel fans as they can. I guess they see the writing on the wall. Eventually, even they'll move on, but maybe the most rabid group of the Fandom will stick around a little longer now.
