i just checked - masculine sims with masculine frames have all the spa day and base game fingernail options. feminine sims with feminine frames have all the options. feminine sims with masculine frames? nada.

howdy y'all! it's been a while since I've been active on this blog. Lots of stuff happened in the real world so I couldn't focus on the sims as much, and then I was playing vanilla a bit because I couldn't keep up with all the updates. But now things are settling again, and I'm itching to start making more of my funky little recolors! So keep your eyes peeled for that :)

In the meantime, I've also started working on a nocc savefile! I want to integrate all the packs I have into a cohesive world, and make sims + lots that cater to my own playstyle, and I thought I might as well share what I'm doing. It's in the very, very early stages of development, and it might be a long time before it's completed, but I've been posting the lots and households for it that I've made so far on the Gallery. My handle there is yarrowseed, and all the savefile stuff is tagged #neapolitansave. (Named so because that's my favorite flavor of ice cream.) (Well, besides salted caramel, and rocky road, and raspberry swirl...)

Jojo’s Showy Blooms Wallpaper Kit

When Jojo walked into a room, everyone took notice. She was a stunning woman, always well kept and loved her bright, showy colours. She was the oldest of 5 sisters, that she was left to raise after her mother died. She taught us all about what it means to be family and how important loyalty is. When you had a problem you couldn’t solve on your own you always went to Jojo, she was always the first to arrive and the last to leave. She was loud mouthed, very opinionated and was without fear of saying how she felt. She never had children, lived alone for most of her adult life, and was completely happy painting and taking care of her animals. She was the definitive proof that you don’t need to follow what society thinks is the true measure of happiness, you are free to make your own. My Auntie Jojo was my rock and I miss her dearly. 

These swatches are set up in the catalog to load top to bottom from the main pattern, so the top row will be the wallpaper pattern, row 2 under each pattern is the background colour, row 3 and 4 are the additional colours always located under each pattern and background colour. I have made the main swatches a preview picture, so you know what each pattern looks like and what colour options each comes with. I have colour coded all of the swatch icons to make it easier to find the whole set. I have honestly tried my best to make these kits as simple to use as possible, giving us builders more free time to create more houses or *shock gasp horror* buy more llamas!

Brutalist Bathroom Collection

The Brutalist Bathroom Collection is a set of 27 new items for you guessed it, the bathroom. Of course as always there are more versatile pieces that can be used in every room of the house.

The set includes:

- Brutalist Vanity - Block Vanity - Round Sink - Rectangular Sink - Bathtub - Shower (Requires Discover University) - Toilet - Block Accent Chair - Fern Handle Plant Pot - Hexagon Planter - Pill Shaped Ceiling Mirror (S,M,L) - Frame Mirror (S,M,L) - Tiled Decorative Half Wall Shelf - Concrete Decorative Half Wall Shelf - Concrete Wallpaper - Grooved Concrete Wallpaper - Terrazzo & Concrete Floor Tiles

You can find the majority of these items by searching the keyword Brutalist in the build/buy catalogue, however you’ll need to search for the 2 wallpapers and floor on your lonesome.

This set was inspired by a brutalist sideboard that I discovered on Pinterest and just had to have the same detailing in game. There are 2 different styles of vanity, so you can mix and match with the 2 sinks in the set for infinite combinations. The sinks snap to any large slot, so you can put onto other surfaces, just be aware that the animations won’t look as they are supposed to if you put onto a much taller surface. The dining tables in game are the perfect height and also include large slots! The decorative half wall is exactly ¼ tile deep, so enabling ¼ tile placement with F5 is going to to make using them in combination with the vanity & toilet an easy and pain free process. Also the pill mirror appears to hang from the ceiling, but it is in fact a wall mirror. I discovered that sims don’t know how to route to ceiling mirrors above sinks as there aren’t any in game already! But you have all 3 wall height options so your mirror will always look connected to the ceiling.

There are so many little details I’d love to point out, but I don’t want to type for too long, so look out tomorrow for a quick overview video of the set to show my thought process and what items I imagine combining together.

To keep file sizes smaller I have linked several of the textures across objects ie. the block vanity is comprised of 5 separate pieces, but all textures are linked from the centre piece. If you used my unmerged files, you will need to make sure you include all items in that mini set to have the textures appear in game.

Hinterlands Bedroom - Country Style with 16 Items

I had this idea for a country bedroom which sprung up from a wardrobe I had intended to go with a now scrapped set. With Cottage Living announced, I decided to move it off the back burner and finish it as i felt that it would work great for the pack.
