In love with a very specific early days kaysanova dynamic right now. Nicky is so intense and I love fics that explore it, especially when he was younger and less in control. Nicolo who is so captivated with Yusuf that it is almost too much for him, for them both. That intense Nicolo passion before it mellows down into his wise old man calm. That stage where he looks at Yusuf, feels his eyes burning at the sight, soul burn at the feeling, knowing that he would kill, would die, for this man, has done both already, knowing that he wants to crack open his soul for Yusuf like he never has before, to claw into his own chest to hand Yusuf his heart because he doesn’t know what else to do with himself. Nicolo looking at Yusuf, looking at Yusuf’s sweet dark eyes reflecting with their campfire, realising that all of the feelings that have stormed inside him all his life are for Yusuf, they are all for him, that he is choosing to devote them all to him. I’m burning and I want him to burn with me, I wanna set him on fire like he has set me on fire. And Yusuf of course does, he sees Nicolo, his flame, and he burns just as bright.
