A quick music moment: 212 by Harlem newcomer AZEALIA BANKS. The dancefloor lover in me loves the mix of hip hop, afro beats and dirty bass. Although very far from the minimalistic sounds I used to enjoy and dance to when I used to live in Berlin, it reminds me of the best and craziest nights I spent there somehow.
No need to say that I love the black and white design of the video and her outfit. The fact that she performed live for Karl Lagerfeld's guests at one of his private dinners is a plus, I must say :)

As much as I am not a fan of Valentine's Day and generally try to avoid the cheesy madness around that day, I do love to look for creative gift ideas...and I must say people sometimes come up with really cool ones.
I recently checked Eric Weiner's website whose jewelry is just ... the best, with a large choice of jewelry pieces, affordable prices and an irresistible vintage twist. Around Valentine's Day, Erica Weiner is selling those really cute sweetheart necklaces from the 70s online. The shape is perfect, the colour too. And you can have any word you wanted printed on one or both sides.

I not only love shoes and bags [and coats and dresses and nail polish], I also love jewelry, especially fine golden pieces. Necklaces and rings, to be even more precise [and give my dear friends and followers some ideas for possible bday and christmas presents].
I recently stumbled upon Spark and Pepper's website. They sell beautiful and delicate handmade jewelry. Their pieces are very simple, yet very feminine.
As far as I understand from their website, they do not ship internationally but I count on my dearest U.S friends to play the middleman ;)

I just remembered these pictures I took of the HERMES shop windows a couple of days before Christmas.
It was a cold morning and I was early for a morning meeting in the very chic area of Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré. I spent that extra time strolling around the streets and I stopped by the Hermes shop for a couple of peaceful and enchanting minutes. I just love how lavish everything looks.
Looking forward to next year, Hermes!

I recently discovered Boticca, a website dedicated to sell unique jewelry pieces and accessories. I stumbled upon when looking for golden leaf earrings. Boticca features a collection by London based designer LeiVanKash, whose earrings are shown in the pictures above.
Botica offers a great selection, and I really like their business approach, as featured in the website: "All creative work tells a story. Any collection, from jewelry to accessories, represents a chapter in a designer’s larger work. With each chapter, the designer’s story unfolds to convey his vision and inspiration. Boticca was born out of one of those inspired moments. On a trip to Marrakesh, one of our founders came across Mariam, a jewelry designer. As he talked to Mariam in the crowded Medina, he discovered that there was more to her exceptionally exquisite jewelry than just beauty; it also had meaning and a story. Mariam told of how she had first sold her work in the Atlas Mountains to the women in her village. Her creations were so popular that she decided to travel to Marrakesh three times a week to sell them to tourists. Inspired by her unique story, we were frustrated that only a few lucky people would get to experience Mariam’s pieces on their travels. We wanted to change that, and this is how Boticca came to be."

I have been regularly checking the very cool website of REVOLVE CLOTHING for a couple of years now. This week, I stumbled upon their new watches' collection and spotted a sleek black piece by the very cool brand FLUD (pictured).
I actually love almost all jewelry pieces they have on the Revolve website, especially the Gorjana line. If you are as crazy about jewelry as I am, especially about sleek and simple designs, you should definitely check Gorjana's website. I find some pieces really beautiful.

Via Fashionista: "If you’ve always wanted to raid Chloë Sevigny‘s closet, here’s your chance to at least get a peek inside. Opening Ceremony filmed an “at home” series with the actress–slash–designer and in part one, which sort of feels like a very hip episode of Hoarders (she calls herself a “kind of pack rat, hoarder”), she shows us the clothes-containing portion of her East Village apartment. Understandably, the only clothing she shows us is lots of Chloë Sevigny X Opening Ceremony, a crazy Comme des Garçons jacket, a homemade set of bunny ears and sketches Alber Elbaz did of her Oscar dress (she was nominated in 2000 for Boys Don’t Cry)."

I eventually took the time to watch "Found My Love In Portofino", a very lovely short movie by Ellen von Unwerth for Christians Dior's new Summer 2012 campaign.
I must say Dior's digital communication creativeness has really been growing on me and I adore the whole old fashioned flair of the movie. Watch and enjoy!

Iconic and popular French cheese brand La Vache Qui Rit (the smiling cow) is celebrating its 90th anniversary with a bet on graphic art. LVQR (which I see as a smart wink at LVMH but maybe it is just me!) simultaneously ordered 7 original pieces from Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, BOW, François Chalet, Lisa Paclet, Pfafinderei, Rostarr and Vier5, and organised a contest via designboom.com allowing internet users to select 3 additional pieces from un- or less-known artists. All original pieces were to include triangles, the colors red, blue and silver i.e the brand graphic identity. In total, 10 pieces were selected and printed on t-shirts, bags and posters. In addition, a short film was created (see above) and will be officially presented tonight at Paris cultural "it place" La Gaîté Lyrique. Looking forward to it!

A delightful piece on how to wear a coat by Mr Porter, featuring Mr Kenneth Williams starring in The Wire and Boardwalk Empire. Definitely worth a read.
