Hey I've been looking for this one fic that I read a long time ago and I couldn't find it in my tabs and I was wondering if you might know? I just remember that Yeonjun used to bully Soobin in grade school and then when they grew up, Soobin sees him again and Yeonjun doesn't remember him and so Soobin starts to date him to get back at him for all those years he bullied him by being the worst boyfriend ever and Soobin ends up cheating on him with Kai and its like a reaalllly toxic relationship and I think also Yeonjun's parents had died? Please I didn't know where else to look..

Review:

I know cheating fics are not everyone’s cup of tea but hear me out. This fic may be centered around cheating however, it is so well written that it makes up for everything. 

I know, I know. Cheating is bad. But what I loved is how the writer approached the subject. It is not some cutesy, hehe haha let’s just be together despite my partner’s feelings. It really goes in depth of how messy it is. They did not romanticize it as something so exciting and hot because it’s forbidden. They continuously showed us how everyone involved gets hurt.

(Although the smut is A+++)

Soobin in this fic is really... he’s just really. I am trying to think of some nice words for him because the entire fic I was so frustrated with him lol. He’s really a dumbass and doesn’t really understand his own feelings but again, that is what I loved so much about his characterization. He is human. He acknowledges that he doesn’t have it figured out and at times he does hurt both Yeonjun and his girlfriend but he tries to work through it as best to his ability (spoiler: his ability is not that good). And side note, just the fact that the writer can get me to not like a soobin character is enough for me to love this fic. It’s almost impossible for me to dislike a soobin character but they really aced it in this fic. 

Another thing I want to praise the writer for, she does not villainize Soobin’s girlfriend in the fic. I know a lot of times in fics you will see the only female character portrayed as mean and bitchy. But she had her own storyline as well that she was also going through feelings she didn’t understand like Soobin was.

And finally, my favorite character is Yeonjun. I’m not really sure why I felt so much sympathy for him because I know he is the one that knew about Soobin’s relationship and still went ahead and had an affair. But his character is just so sweet. He just wants to love Soobin and towards the end you’ll just want to give the poor guy a hug. 

This part in particular breaks my heart for him so much that I had to take a moment to collect myself before continuing. 

"I want you to be with me without thinking of her."

Soobin is silent, eyes searching Yeonjun's avoidant face. His mouth opens, but he knows he can't give the man in front of him the answer he wants. It's fucked up, this whole situation is. It's fucked up that he has to be here, being asked to choose between the person he's been with for so long, someone he's so used to, who he cares for – who cares for him – and this... living, breathing definition of all the things he tried to warn himself against. This beautiful, broken-hearted person who's desperate for him, who Soobin is just as desperate for, too. This man who claims to be in love with Soobin.

Soobin's eyebrows crease, unable to hold this internal battle from his features. "You know I can't do that, Jun."

I don’t want to spoil the ending but for anyone like me that doesn’t like to read non endgame yeonbin. This one is safe to read. Also trigger warning: straight sex. lol.

Review:

I stopped reading fics for a while as I felt a little detached from this ship. So when I felt nostalgic for yeonbin again, instead of going to read new fics, i turned to the classics. And this one is a classic. One of those fics that everyone in the fandom probably already knows but for good reason. This fic is 70k words of slow burn, pining, misunderstandings, unrequited love, and fluff. This fic is basically hand crafted to check off all the things I like to read. 

It is a continuation of a short fic the author posted and wanted to expand. It’s called Just One Kiss. I would highly recommend reading that first, its quick and cute and yeonbin make out at a kissing booth. Super cute!

This fic revolves around Yeonjun who is pining after Soobin. Who happens to be in love with his best friend Hueningkai. Yeonjun tries not to fall in love with him and fails and the whole time he’s trying to be Soobin’s friend all while hurting himself because he can see just how much Soobin loves kai. 

I think what I love most about it is how cozy it is. It’s a university au, their friend circle is small. This was written in 2020 so it still has that cute puppy love feel to it without the reality of yeonbin divorce in 2021. 

Over all, it is a slow burn. You get taken into Yeonjun’s life trying to navigate a blooming friendship while trying to succeed in his university dance group and trying to avoid his feelings. So despite it taking a while for yeonbin to get together, you’re left with a fic about friendship and what it means to talk through your feelings. 

I love fics like this where you get taken into their world and by the end, despite it being a happy ending, you feel so sad because you have to say goodbye to the characters. 

And the best part, beomgyu and taehyun are a side ship. I feel like a lot of taegyu fics are angsty so I always love to see writers put them as a cute couple in love in the background.

Review:

So this one would have been perfect for Halloween but I also just discovered this fic when browsing through the yeonbin tags on ao3 so I'm going to gush about it now. Even if it is November.

My jaw dropped when I found this omg this is the spoopy fic I've been wanting all along. You have creepy cabin in the woods and the maybe unreliable narrator and horror movie themes. Just everything the community has been needing! And come to my surprise, this was posted in 2 years ago and has only 2k hits like? That’s an abomination, I need everyone to get on this fic right now!

Rambling aside, I loved this fic so much. 

It starts off like we are watching a movie. The way the author writes makes it play out in my head perfectly. Soobin and Yeonjun driving to their vacation spot in a cabin in the woods. The sun is shining, yeonbin are in love, they’re out celebrating their 2 year anniversary. Just happy vibes all around even though we as the reader already know some shit is about to go down. It’s just so perfectly horror movieesque. 

They arrive at the cabin and right off the bat everything is perfect. Very dreamy and wonderful, like they’re the spokespersons of a vacation catalogue or something. But soon enough, things begin to get eerie. First it’s the knocking on the front door that soobin answers but finds no one there. Then, the water in the cabin begins to get really hot which wouldn’t be that weird tbh but in context of the whole fic, its pretty weird. It’s as if something is beginning to play around with them. 

And then the really spooky shit starts happening. Soobin gets woken up in the middle of the night. There’s loud banging coming from outside of the cabin and creaking inside the house. Yeonjun does not hear it at all, he just keeps on sleeping. And this is when I knew it was like a horror movie because you know what Soobin does? He rolls over and goes back to sleep. 

Soobin! My god, I would have been out of there in 0.001 seconds, dragging Yeonjun behind me even if he was asleep I don’t care. 

But this keeps happening every single night. The banging, the creaking, at one point soobin wakes up and Yeonjun is gone. He’s not in bed and he can’t hear him moving around the cabin and instead of going out to look for him because you know, there’s been weird shit going on, nah he just goes back sleep. 

Someone come bring Soobin his clown nose because what the hell! It’s literally like a scary movie and I love it so much!

And what’s worse, when ever crazier things begin happening, Soobin tells Yeonjun, and you know what Yeonjun does? Nothing. He does nothing. He just tells him its probably nothing or maybe he was dreaming. Red flag! 

At one point Soobin hears Yeonjun calling for him from upstairs but when Soobin goes to check, the entire upstairs is empty, and Yeonjun is discovered to be downstairs the entire time doing his work. And the longer they stay, the more elaborate the house begins to mess with them. 

I don’t want to spoil all of it but this is such a good fic to immerse yourself in you like spooky stuff. The writer does a really good job and at describing everything as if you are in it and living it out as well. Like I said in the beginning, this entire fic reads out like a movie in your head. Every scene Soobin is in gives me chills with the way the author sets it up and gives details.

The author doesn’t really answer if yeonjun is real or not. 

And my theory is that yeonjun is probably not real. I think it was the house making him up for soobin to fully stay in the house. Because it already made itself look picturesque perfect and to top it off, the prefect boyfriend as well. 

Because why on earth is Yeonjun just brushing everything off? Every time Soobin shows concern about something in the house, Yeonjun is there with a smile to tell him it’s nothing. And then when Soobin hears Yeonjun up stairs, the house is suddenly able to talk too that it was able to mimic Yeonjun’s voice? Nah, it has to be the house creating Yeonjun as a whole. 

And then when they try to leave, why would Yeonjun go back in the cabin? You see you’re boyfriend panicking, you had all night to pack. why would you go back and get your stuff. you should already be out with your bags in hand (although i think this could be a classic scary movie trope where the main characters just aren’t very bright lol). 

I’ve watched enough scary movies to fully believe Beomgyu when he’s like, yeah man you’ve been in the cabin without eating. the house was probably feeding off of soobin, feeding him lies to get him stay.

Review:

This one very short so I wasn’t sure if I could even write anything for it. But I wanted to gush about it anyway because of how cute it is. I never thought I would say that about a pwp fic but here we are I guess. 

This fic is so comfy? And I know that sounds weird because its literally a fic about blowjobs lol but literally, just the way the whole fic screams healthy loving relationship makes it so cozy. 

its canon and told through Yeonjun’s pov and he spends the first half of the fic just swooning over soobin. 

“ Soobin’s lips are soft like clouds, and Yeonjun thinks so because the sensation takes him so high up that he feels like he’s touching the clouds. “

“ He can still taste the sweetness of the gummies Soobin had been munching on earlier in his mouth, and it’s a taste he’s not averse to. He briefly wonders if Soobin could learn to like the taste of mint chocolate if it’s from his mouth, and the thought makes his toes curl. “

“ Soobin is way too attractive for his own good. And Soobin is all his to kiss, his to touch. His chest is swelling with pride but more than that, so much love. “

Just a few moments that made me giggle because yeonjun, sweetie, you’re so down bad for Soobin. Whipped Yeonjun is my favorite and the fact that its canon too makes me laugh even more because of how accurate the author portrayed Yeonjun. And that’s not even the best one, my personal favorite:

“ Yeonjun thinks, how typical for such a pretty boy to have a pretty cock. “

Yeonjun, stand up! Come on! Gosh I love them so much in this fic. 

Its both of their first times going any further than just making out and I really appreciated the tender moments of Yeonjun checking if Soobin is okay, even if they aren’t going all the way. And Soobin voicing out that he trusts Yeonjun. The cute way Yeonjun pretends to know what he’s doing but is so proud of himself because Soobin keeps mumbling how the hell is yeonjun so good at it lol. 

They’re sweet, the whole fic is sweet. I know its short but please it was too cute not to write about.

Review: 

If I am being completely honest, I have been sitting on this review for a few weeks because every time i come back to it. I just sit in front of the screen staring off into space. And please I mean that in the best way possible. If I shorten my review for it I would only be able to say one thing, just heart wrenching. 

That is it. It’s heart wrenching. 

I am ashamed that I almost skipped over this fic because of the tags. It contains character death which I tend to avoid like the plague. 

And one tag that definitely threw me off was “multiverse” and I was a little confused as to what that would entail as I mostly see it used for marvel. But I decided to read anyway and man, it was worth the read. 

Wow I cannot rave about this fic enough. I will recommend this fic to anyone, even non moas. I will recommend this at my wedding, my 50th birthday, to the nurses at my nursing home in the future. Just WOW. 

The fic starts right away with pining yeonjun which is my fucking kink yes, that was enough to pull me in. The gist of it is that there is some weird things going on in a different universe. They don’t know which one it is but they know that it involves yeonjun and soobin in which ever universe it may be. And it is up to them to hop into different universes to find where the problem is. 

And that's all fine except we remember that they are exes. And Yeonjun is still very much in love with Soobin. And Yeonjun is under the impression that Soobin hates him. Its so angsty and it was enough to have me kicking in the air out of excitement. 

They hop into various universe’s and Yeonjun soon realizes that him and Soobin are romantically together in all of them. And its so crushing to see Yeonjun hoping it was like that for him and his Soobin in his universe. God the way the writer portrays the yearning through Yeonjun, I love that. 

There’s one scene where they are in a different universe and decided to split up to take a look around. Yeonjun ends up running into Soobin. But it’s not his Soobin. 

He opens his mouth, not sure what’s going to come out, and blurts: “I just wanted to see you.”

Soobin’s harried expression smoothes out into something tender and affectionate and oh, once upon a time his own Soobin used to look at him just like this. Like he was special. Like he was cherished, wanted, loved.

The knife inside of him cuts deeper than it’s ever gone before—right to bone.

I had to put my phone down and just stop for a second after that line. 

And when I continued reading, I quickly realized that each new universe they explore is more heart breaking than the last. Until its a whole mess of emotions and suddenly Soobin and Yeonjun are both hurting and having sex. 

I’m not going to write what happens at the end but if anyone is hesitant to read because of the character death tag. It is only temporary? I don’t want to spoil too much but rest assured, the main Soobin and Yeonjun do not die.

This was certainly a dilemma.

Currently, it was gearing up towards tomato season, the weather getting warm and a little muggy, and they had lined up their seeds into little neat rows to grow into plump little red and yellow tomatoes, which they gladly always shared with Yeonjun. It was a nice little arrangement. Or, they had been neat rows until the large paws of the dog currently sitting on Yeonjun’s front stoop had treaded over them.

That was the issue he was currently dealing with.

Because having a dog on your front stoop that wasn’t supposed to be there was alarming enough. But Yeonjun was almost certain the dog was in fact a wolf.

Review: 

it was already 1am when i ran into this fic. i had work the next morning but i was like nah, i’ll read a little bit and then go to sleep... yeah, i ended up staying up to read the entire thing, smiling like an idiot as i soaked in the fluff, and then went back to read it a second time. 

so i don't make the best choices. but this writer put out one of the best fics i’ve read in the community. and i know i must sound like a broken record, but this is literally one of the best fics i’ve read in the community!

and even if werewolf fics aren't your thing, i urge you to read it. its about yeonjun who comes home from work one day, and finds a dog at his front porch. or at least he thinks its a dog, could be a wolf? (not so spoiler: its a werewolf). he brings it in, the dog just kind of decides to stay with yeonjun even though yeonjun is terrified of it. and the dog is weird, it wont eat and it wont leave. 

he basically just lets it stay the night only to wake up to a unclothed soobin on his couch, right where he left the dog the night before. and it all clicks, oh, this man is the dog wolf thing i let in last night lol. 

the romance does not begin right away, but i do enjoy that slow burn of them getting to navigate around each other. soobin having his firsts as a human and yeonjun just trying to lead him. i think my favorite parts were when soobin gets territorial of him and soobin is unsure why. until he realizes that oh, he wants yeonjun to be his mate lol. 

best line for me was after soobin leaves to go be with his pack, but then comes back when he feels a pull towards yeonjun. they discuss how soobin wants to be with yeonjun forever

“I don’t just expect you to take care of me, though. I want to do what I can to help you out.”

“And how are you going to do that?”

Soobin shrugged. “Don’t homids get jobs? Things to do for money?”

Yeonjun laughed at that. “Yeah? Think you can handle something like that when you’ve lived in the woods all your life?”

“If I’m going to be a provider, shouldn’t I at least try?”

Yeonjun’s brows shot up at that. “Provider? Where’d you get that from?”

Soobin shrugged, glancing over at Yeonjun thoughtfully. “Yewon brought it up when I went back with her. How I need to provide for you.”

(homids are what soobin calls humans as he doesn't know that they are called humans) so fucking cute! ahh!

and probably my favorite thing about it was in the authors note, the author writes “finally i’m free!” when all i wanted to do was get lost in the world they built in the fic lol.

Review: 

this will probably be a good time to mention that i am in fact the president of the cat boy yeonjun agenda, so when i first came across this fic i screamed. 

a long, slow burn, fluff fic about yeonjun being a cat? and its tagged whith a happy ending? bitch yes! sign me up! 

this is such a good fic to get lost in on a rainy day. you instantly get lost in the world the creator has set up for us. while it’s not majorly based on world building, the tiny world the author wrote up, one where soobin and yeonjun who are desperately lonely find each other and fall in love, its so cozy and i found myself sad when it ended just because i wanted to spend more time with the characters and the cozy little home of theirs. 

it starts with soobin who keeps to himself. he’s lonely, that is actually the very first thing we learn about him. 

Soobin knew he was lonely. He did.

that's literally the very first line of the fic. 

from there we get a little glimpse of his life. his work life, which taehyun asks him when was the last time he has gone out. well meaning friends but also such comments make him even more anxious because he knows how people must see him as a loner. he goes home as usual, it all seems routine. 

It must be nice, he thinks as he stares out the window. He feels like he’s in one of those ridiculously dramatic teen films, in the scene where time freezes and the main character glances out onto the empty street with their saddest realization dawning upon them. A turning point, to try and make the most of life with this new weight they’re forced to carry around; the metamorphosis of adulthood that costs more blood and teeth than it’s worth.

But this is not a movie— the streets are full, time is ticking, Soobin isn't a teenager anymore.

this is where we realize that not only is soobin lonely but he is sad too. and this is also a foreshadowing that his turning point will soon come as well. so even though the tone is sad, it still feels a little hopeful that soobin wont be sad for much longer. that's where we are introduced to the shampoo ad. 

and this is what i love about this fic. the author uses little things to push the story forward. because while it looks like a regular shampoo ad, and while soobin thinks the man on the ad is beautiful, he has no idea that this ad will also be his turning point. even though he walks past it regularly, its significant to us, the author makes sure we know its important.

days pass, same routine, same loneliness, and same shampoo ad he sees everyday. except this time, something follows him home. a cat. and soobin is instantly taken by it. full on mush for it. he takes it in and this is the true turning point for him.

and from the tags, we can already guess that this cat is yeonjun. so even though i was waiting desperately to see how yeonjun would turn back or how soobin would find out, it was still such a nice build up as we got to see a glimpse of their bonding even in yeonjun’s cat state. from when yeonjun refuses to eat cat food so soobin has to cook him human food, or when soobin takes a shower not really caring if yeonjun sees him because duh its just a cat but yeonjun is staring at him with wide eyes. i love the bits of humor the author throws at us.

i don't want to write everything down but one of my absolute favorite parts was in third chapter. its after yeonjun turns back into his human form and they have to get used to yeonjun being human again and their bond soon turns into love. after all of that,

“You...were a cat up until I met you? So that day you shifted before I got back was—”

“My first time doing it successfully since I’d given up,” Yeonjun hums, brittle. “Fear and panic shifted me back.”

“Why were you panicking?” Soobin’s face screws up in the soft emptiness of the bedroom, trying to picture that day and what it was that could have drawn Yeonjun’s fear out of the dark. He had only been gone a few minutes.

“You said if you were gone for longer than five minutes, to call the police. I was counting the seconds, you know.”

It clicks together like puzzle pieces sliding into place, and Soobin can’t stop the intense rush of tears that tips over. Like a dam breaking, as more and more pours out.

god i swooned so much at this part. full on rolling around trying not to squeal. 

overall, this is a cozy fic. i don't know how else to describe it but 1000000/10 would read ten more times in a span of a week.

Hi there! I mostly only read yeonbin fics and that is the main ship that I follow so that's why I made this blog only yeonbin. Not sure if I can do review requests either because I don't think these are really reviews? I use that word really loosely because I mostly just wanted to scream about the cute yeonbin fics I'm currently reading. I'm really sorry!

Although I think I've read pretty much every (completed) fic in the yeonbin tags so either way, eventually I'll review whatever fic you had in mind :)

Summary:  Turns out, trying to surprise your wildly famous Korean pop idol boyfriend on his birthday was not as easy as it sounded.

Review: 

this one is a part of a series called crossroads. its not finished, and i wasn't initially going to include unfinished fics on this blog but the way this series is written, i felt like this could also be considered as an ending. 

the series is about idol soobin and yeonjun who lives right across the street from his work building. they see each other one day and fall in love, despite soobin being a busy idol, they decided to work through it and date each other. 

the series i would describe as little glimpses of yeonbin in this universe. and i love that about this series. even if it hasn't been updated in quite a while, it still has this satisfying ending to it. since it is just glimpses of them into their lives, it feels like we aren't missing much anyway? even as this third part ends. it still feels like they’re out there living their lives and in love. and if the author ever chooses to continue the series, it would just be like catching up with an old pair of friends. which is why this series has become sort of a comfort for me. 

although this one, part 3, is a little more angstier. yeonjun shows up at soobin’s photo shoot ready to surprise him for his birthday. but soobin is not happy at all to see him. he’s under a lot of stress and he’s annoyed that he even has to work on his birthday and lashes out at yeonjun and asks him to leave. 

a crushed yeonjun does leave and goes back home not really knowing where they stand. soobin doesn't call and by the time he is getting ready for bed, soobin still hasn't contacted him. this is where the reader thinks well shit, is this it for my happy couple? 

no. soobin shows up in the middle of the night, apologizing to yeonjun. 

its sweet and a little abrupt to the ending but i love how realistic it is. they’re both tired and want to go to sleep after a long day but the fact that they are willing to at least briefly talk it out and acknowledge that soobin fucked up. its just so romantic and domestic. i love that they love each other so much that they can talk it out and the author does a good job at showing us that they have a healthy relationship together. 

its not technically a finished series. at least i think the last time the author said it was still on going? but it doesn't really take away anything from this installment. because at least with this part it feels open ended. they are willing to work it out and it gives the reader this sense of “oh they can work it out, they can last together” and that's enough of a happy ending for me.

Summary: Choi Yeonjun may not be from Daegu but his home is there. Based on Troye Sivan’s Blue (Sequel to my one-shot, Want It All)

Review:

i am actually quite shocked that this fic does not have more kudos and comments? its so good but seems like its kind of gone under the radar for most people in the community. but also most of their works i see fly under the radar. which should be illegal because omg they’re writing is superb! im not joking, they are also one of my favorite writers in the community and this is my trying to give them their flowers because boy this fic (and their other fics) are SO FUCKING GOOD!

it starts out a few years after the first fic leaves off where yeonjun is an asshole and soobin leaves him to go back to daegu. 

it gives us a flashback to the day soobin comes back heartbroken because he thinks yeonjun doesn't like him back. and the author provides us with this dialogue.

“No, it’s just, I can’t believe I’m such a fool,” Soobin tries to explain in between sobs.

“I found my someone there, Kai.”

“Then why are you crying? You can come back. I’ll help-“

“He doesn’t want me back, not like that anyway.”

gosh if i haven't mentioned that i'm a sucker for pining and unrequited love, well you know now. i ate this up like it was my last meal. ah just the thought of soobin saying that yeonjun doesn't want him back is just... especially when we as the reader are aware that there is a huge miscommunication going on. it hurts so good!

it goes on to set the scene of soobin in his family home, taehyun and beomgyu are engaged, everyone is gathered for their wedding coming up soon. and one of beomgyu’s grooms men is, yeonjun. and so they have to face each other again. soobin with his mind telling him to run away but also he wants yeonjun so bad, even if he was an asshole to him 3 years ago. 

the story progresses into a sort of love triangle, but not really? basically soobin’s family is unaware of the history yeonbin have so they try to set up yeonjun with one of soobin’s cousins. and yeonjun does not look opposed to it at all. at this point we have no inner dialogue or any insight to yeonjun’s point of view so of course we are perceiving yeonjun as the asshole the same way we all thought of him in the first part. 

except later that night, yeonjun comes to soobin’s bedroom and sleeps in his bed. like, he literally sleeps in his bed. no funny business. and he continues to sleep in soobin’s bed every single night despite having a fling going on with soobin’s cousin. 

the story over all was a beautiful development to their relationship in the first part. the way the author made sure to humanize yeonjun more, let us sympathize with him, and the way soobin is also going through his own motions of standing up for himself. one of the best examples would be this line.

“I know you still love me so why aren’t you doing something about it?! You let me sleep in your arms every night but you’re scared to commit!” Yeonjun snaps back, wanting answers to his own questions.

Soobin scoffs in disbelief, then he says, “That’s not fair, hyung. You and I both know it’s not me who’s indecisive," he pauses to catch his breath, "And yeah, I still love you. But you’re a fucking asshole for bringing that up when all you want is a dick up your ass!” He finishes, getting the angriest he's ever been.”

chef’s kiss. 

again, it is so well written and i love it when a fic really stabs you in the heart and the author did an amazing job at making sure my heart was crushed into pieces before stomping on the pieces and then putting them back together in the end. please leave kudos and comments for the author.

Summary:  It’s no one’s fault but Soobin's. His mother was right, Soobin is never satisfied with what he has. And of course he is complaining, who is he trying to kid? He wants more again, like he always does. He broke off his relationship of four years with Yeonjun because he wanted more. Got into this deal with him a few months after their break up because he wanted more. And now, a year later after they started it, he’s going to fuck things up again. Because still, even now - Soobin wants more.

Review:

the scream i let out when i came across this fic. regret fics are my biggest guilty pleasure! and this is the kind of fic with this kind of plot line is always at the top of my list in every fandom i’ve come across. i fucking love break up fics where one of them regrets the break up omg maybe i just love hurting myself idk but this is top 5 of my favorite yeonbin fics of all time. and the author! one of my favorite authors in the community. i have more to say about their other fics but that's for another day. 

so it starts with soobin being miserable and pining for his ex. who he sees at a bar already chatting it up with someone else. and yes what a perfect way to start the story, author! i was hooked right away. 

they end up going to yeonjun's apartment together which was their old apartment together. they fuck and when they wake up later in the morning. it dawns on soobin that he has woken up next to his ex who he is still very much in love with, in their old apartment, a place they used to share together. and the author throws this line at us “If Soobin ignores a few of his thoughts he can almost pretend that they are still together and this is just a common thing in their routine.” man its so simple but it did its job at crushing my heart.

and that was just part one. part two is where is gets gut wrenching. soobin has been ignoring yeonjun when yeonjun just forgets his memories after an accident. and in yeonjun’s head he thinks that they are still together. and then the author throws another punch to my heart with this exchange 

"Three years? Wait, now it would be five. Fuck. Hold on, are we married?" Yeonjun's whole body lights up at the thought, the lawyer stares at him with curiosity, hope and excitement in his eyes. Soobin wants the ground to open and swallow him in that instant.

"No, not yet." Soobin answers, the lump that grows in his throat can't be avoided for much longer. Yeonjun's face falls and he lets out a groan, murmuring something about him being so fucking slow under his breath.”

yeah just stomp on my heart while you’re at it.

its then when yeonjun catches on that oh, they broke up. and soobin decides its best to tell yeonjun that the break up was mutual and that soobin loves him but yeonjun doesn't love him back. the big ass face palm i did when i first read it omg soobin sweetie. i know he has his reasons but my god i felt so bad for yeonjun in that moment. and even more when it gets revealed why soobin broke up with him in the first place. 

ugh, again. every fic that this author puts out, instantly shoots up on my favorite fics list. they are that good. i dont want to give too much away but get prepared to get your heart broken and then put back together. 10000/10 would recommend, please read it and leave the author kudos and comments.

Soobin pours noodles into the pot of boiling water, his back to Yeonjun, and shrugs. “I don’t know. I guess I just kinda figured if I ever fell in love it was going to be with you.”

Review:

this fic to me was so heart wrenching although i dont think the author intended it to be that way lol. its set in canon verse so everything written about yeonjun was little heart breaking because it hits a little too close to home about their reality as idols. yeonjun in this story has never had his first kiss, has never really had the time to go out and find someone because he’s been working for half of his life to be an idol. and just that bit right there was enough to leave me so sad because im sure a lot more idols out there can relate to that as well. 

but then we get a peak at who yeonjun actually wants. and thats soobin. and dont get me wrong, im a sucker for a good pining story but god my heart went out for yeonjun. 

they’re both a little drunk but eventually soobin lets it slip that if he was going to be with someone, it was going to be with yeonjun. and thats what gets the ball rolling in the fic. yeonjun is confused because fuck, his band member basically just drunk confessed to him? and then forgot about it the next day? did soobin even mean it or was it just the alcohol talking? either way, it scares the shit out of yeonjun. and so he starts dating another idol. 

it delves into yeonjun not really knowing how to cope, being angry with soobin for even confessing in the first place and leaving him confused, trying to compensate for all the lost moments he missed out on when he was busy training, and just the way the author wrote him so realistically. i love his inner monologues like one of my favorite lines that i think would sum up the entire fic   “Yeonjun knows it would be easier to explain if understood it himself.”

he cant even really explain why hes so frustrated or why it feels like he’s running away but i loved that about him in the fic. it really sets the tone and doesnt really stress me out when they dont just talk to each other. 

i love it when a fic flows naturally to the point where i can totally see it happening irl, the writer is that good! although it is anonymous please make sure to leave the author kudos and comments!

In front of him, Yeonjun is drawing senseless shapes onto the foam of his double shot iced coffee with the end of his straw, seemingly unbothered. Like he hadn't said what Soobin thought he just did. Probably because he didn't. Yeah, there's no way he could have been so calm about asking Soobin to-

"I asked if you could spend my heat with me, Soobin," Yeonjun repeats, still unperturbed but finally looking at Soobin's face, catching his eyes.

Or

Yeonjun's heats are too painful and Soobin, being his best friend, has always been bad at denying Yeonjun of anything- even if it means putting his own feelings aside. And boy, does he have feelings.

i CANNOT stress enough how much i love this fic! literally, i come back to it every other week because its so GOOD!

this is an abo fic but the author doesn't really put any power dynamics in it which i LOVED. i may be getting carried away with my typing but yall, this fic is good and i don't now how else to emphasize it. 

we got bff yeonbin who have been best friends for years, even with yeonjun being an omega and soobin is an alpha. this is my weakness guys, best friends to lovers is my shit and i will die on this hill oh my gawd.

anyway so yeonjun is a late bloomer and only recently got his first hear which is very painful. soobin feels bad but its not like he can do anything right? except, yeonjun asks him to spend his heat with him to help him out. and that would be fine right? two best friends helping each other out. nothing wrong with that. except GASP, soobin is in love with yeonjun? and has been for a long time? oh this is where the author had me hooked, i love a good pining fic and soobin PINES in this one. 

Soobin reluctantly agrees but he thinks, if i don't knot him, that should be good right? so he spends all of yeonjun’s heats just helping him with his presence. yeah... Soobin if you don't-!

there is a whole misunderstanding between them. soobin doesn't want to cross the line and yeonjun is wondering why soobin wont just knot him? the fic goes on with them being confused about their own dynamics since everything has shifted between them ever since they started helping each other out. 

the writer does such a good job with establishing their friendship first. we know that they care about each other which was perfect to understand why soobin hesitates to do anything more with yeonjun. i spent the entire fic clutching my chest because the pining is so good. im having trouble finding any other words to describe it but yes its, good. 

that ending tho, 10000/10 please read you wont regret it. print a copy of this fic and burry it with me when i d-word please thank you.

Review:

i guess i could also categorize this as “feelings recovery” as it is sweet enough to read after you are sad but also, this basically pwp lol. i will also warn though it does have feminization in this fic so if you aren't into that, i would skip it. but if not, do read! 

it takes place on soobin’s birthday early in the morning. they have to be quick because the other members will be awake soon and i think they have a schedule? i can’t quite remember but i do remember it being well written, not awkward at all, and just flows really well. and surprisingly, the writer also did a good job of giving them a personality even if it is smut lol. idk how else to explain but i liked how the writer was still able to portray their personalities and show the reader the relationship dynamics between the two. they are in an established relationship in the fic and it really shows that they have a deep connections and understanding between the two.

Review:

This was a cute, quick read. i don't think i've seen many fics in the community that are in the “dating” phase. this fics takes us directly into their fourth date together. and i love reading this stage in a relationship. you’re not yet taken into the love portion, you’re just seeing them test out the waters and so many butterflies in this stage too!

soobin hasn't really found someone he clicks with but he is really REALLY into yeonjun. some time during the date they start to bring up that soobin hasn't been in a long term relationship, much to yeonjun's surprise because he is the total package. eventually it is brought up that soobin has this little quirk where he gets up in the middle of the night to eat a green apple lol. yeah, i have never heard of that one either but you know, for soobin i wouldn’t mind either. 

yeonjun isn't put off by it at all. i wont spoil the whole thing but this is really just so cute and wholesome. perfect for feelings recovery. read after you’ve just finished something sad. i just really like fics like this. it doesn't matter if they’re short, i just love reading about yeonbin falling in love and being so whipped for each other in any universe. this one was no exception. its just a small glimpse but yeonbin in this universe seem like they’ll last a lifetime.

Review: 

Man how do i even start this one. I cannot recommend this one enough. even if alpha/alpha fics aren't your thing, please give this one a chance. its so well written and flows so nicely. 

it starts with soobin who is in his 20′s and kind of stuck with his life. he works as a teddy bear vendor and isn't too sure how to get a move with his life which yeah, i can relate to that big time. and he ends up meeting Yeonjun who is older and much more established in his life. 

they start off rocky, yeonjun is kind of an asshole and soobin is a little too meek to stand up for himself sometimes. but they do have a chemistry between them that makes you root for them the whole time. in yeonjun’s defense, he does try to change his ways. he does speak to soobin when they have problems. and soobin does eventually stand up for himself. 

the feeling i get with this one isn't comforting but its so relatable. the writer knows how to make it realistic (yeah even tho its an abo fic). because they don't just sugar coat it and give this fairytale ending. the ending very much feels like real life, we don't know what is going to happen and neither do yeonjun and soobin but they do love each other and they are willing to try to work it out together. 

the ending even with the side couple also feels very close to home because soobin watches how much everything has changed and yes that is very much like real life. you suddenly look around and realize all your friends have grown up and you have grown up but are you still happy? what's going to happen next? soobin in the fic is someone who we can all relate to and i applaud the writer for making it like this. 

we don't really know if they get a happy ending or not, the writer leaves it up to interpretation. i know most people wont like happy endings but don't be put off by it. i can admit i also don't like open endings but this one feels like the right choice 100%.

am i reading too much into this fic? probably. but i just want to gush about how good the entire fic is.
