If you try out Requiem (awesome mod btw), bear one thing in mind: game balance is broken very, very early on. After you duel Mokuba you unlock his challenge deck which contains Thunder Dragons and a tiny Shaddoll engine (3 Ariel + 3 El Shaddoll Fusion). The Shaddoll part’s not important, but the Thunder Dragon part is.
Normally you have to wait until you’ve unlocked and bought out Kaiba’s booster to build a Thunder Dragon deck, which is by and far one of the strongest decks you can build within the first two campaign eras in-game. Between Colossus being a floodgate with built-in protection and Titan being a beefy meat grinder with wings, plus recycling power via Thunder Dragon Fusion and the overall flexibility of the deck, it’s an obvious, no-brainer choice to build if you’re going the chronological route.
Plus after you farm 3 of everything from Mokuba’s deck, you’ll be swimming in DP. I went from 42 DP after mopping up Bakura’s booster to well over 70k+. The reverse duel with Yugi in his respective campaign mission also yields some more broken goodness in a farmable Last Will, plus Card of Destruction.

Oh hey, uh, I’m back! Accidentally deleted the password for this blog and oof, got busy enough that I forgot about it.
I have quite a few things I can write about, the current whirlwind of a meta not being one of ‘em. I did figure out how to mod Link Evolution on the Switch a couple months back, so I might post info about that.
I also realized that there’s a way to get birb spam.dek fairly early, so once I get my bearings here again I’ll get cracking on that.

I love how the combo Eldlich mirror literally comes down to who can combo first, or who can get to the Eldlich part of their deck first should that fail them.

Wow...you have to lose 10 times in a row to unlock the pack that has Exodia. So much for a flawless W/L ratio in this game.

Note to self: fighting Chum or Syrus is not recommended early on!

GX Tag Force may as well not be using a banlist at all, considering that Pot of Greed is legal in that game.

I apologize for not posting much here but-- after 100%’ding Link Evolution on the chronological playthrough I just haven’t had much to post about? That’s gonna change soon though, as I do plan on posting screens from LE as well as start posting about another chronological playthrough I started, which is with the Tag Force games!
However, the Tag Force series is going to be...different. See, it’s kind of split into two different “full” playthroughs in my eyes. Why do I say this?
Because there’s going to be the English/localized playthrough that starts with GX Tag Force and goes all the way up to Tag Force 5 (so that’s GX Tag Force, Tag Force 2, Tag Force 3, Tag Force 4, and Tag Force 5), and then there’s the Japanese playthrough that I’m debating when it comes to a starting point, as there’s two extra games to play on that side (TF6 and Tag Force Special).
For the JP side of it I might just start with TF4, 100% it, go to TF5 and do the same, and then continue onward through TF6 and then into TFS.
My goals in these playthroughs will remain the same as the chronological playthrough in Link Evolution, which is to say I’ll be aiming for:
100% completion rate
Completion of all stories, no matter how generic they may be
Collect all cards, minus promos and others that are locked out due to the discontinuation of the DLC websites for these games
Unlock all additional costumes for characters (assuming there are any)
Complete each and every challenge, no matter how hard or galaxy brained they are
Now, I likely won’t try to collect all of the wooing items since the rest of it is going to be time-consuming enough. That and I don’t count them towards 100% completion since...they don’t count towards it in-game either, afaik.

Chronological playthrough is complete and, subsequently, Link Evolution has been 100%’d! All campaigns, challenges, and boosters are DONE! Which means, uh...I’ll probably just be using the game for dumb ideas of mine now that I have all of the cards and everything out of the way.

Welp, unlocked Ai’s booster. Only 3 duels away from the end of VRAINS, so-- I’m gonna farm enough DP to ensure that I buy the entire thing out in one go.

Also, small bug: if you click on a booster that you have everything from, and then click on the next slot that doesn’t have a booster pack unlocked, it will give you the same message that you get from a completed booster -- “you have three copies of every card in this pack.”

Phhhew, well, Soulburner’s booster has been completed, finally. Which leaves one final pack...Ai’s. I’m gonna test out some more decks in the other campaigns and farm up at least 50k before I return to VRAINS and smack the hell out of what’s left of the campaign, and then-- I’ll buy out his booster in its entirety.

Golly gee, I’ve gotten deep enough into comboing that I’m running Halqi in like, most of my builds now.

I love the insane amount of damage output that Endymion Pendulums can put on board 95% of the time. Couple that with Union Carrier and Borreload Savage (with Bow of the Goddess possibly once I get enough DP for Revolver’s pack) and Odd-Eyes Vortex and just-- board locks on top of lethal is soooo good.

Did some counting today, and after unlocking Soulburner’s booster, it takes 9 duels to unlock Revolver’s..
Why did OOS decide to be so inconsistent and jerky with the flow in VRAINS campaign? Each booster should be the same amount of duels apart from each other, with maybe Ai’s being the farthest -- not each and every one being separated by different totals.
