Fandom Fridays postponed to this Friday

Hey all!

In case anyone was wondering/confused on why there was no Fandom Friday this past Friday, we decided to postpone it in order to allow more people to submit. In the spirit of full disclosure, while we have a few submissions, it wasn’t enough to fill a whole day. 

We love this fandom more than anything, and we know that it’s capable of doing amazing things. However, we need your help to do so! Therefore, we decided to push the start date to this Friday (6/14). 

If you have anyone, and we do mean anyone, that you want to submit, please do! You can do it on anon if you’re shy, we won’t judge! There are so many amazing people in this fandom, why not give them a shout-out and make them smile?

Fandom Friday starts this Friday!

As part of the #CrashtheMode campaign, every Friday, we’ll be honoring members of the YJ Fandom through this blog. 

Do you have a favorite member of the fandom? A fanfic recommendation? An AMV you really want to share? Share it with us! Use our submission box and follow the guidelines to submit someone!

Multiple submissions are welcome and accepted, we’re all loving here. Feel free to do it on anon if you’re shy, just take the time to give someone a shout out. We promise, it’s going to make someone’s day.

Recognized: Young Justice Fandom Z-16

Welcome back. We are one (1!) day away from the start of #CrashtheMode. Above, please find your calendar of events for the month of June. At the beginning of every week, your team leaders will publish a post explaining the events of the week in more detail, as well as general guidelines, instructions, etc.

Before we get into this week’s events, your team leaders wanted to remind you of three very important tasks to be completed. If you haven’t already:

1. Please send in a short video letting us know why you love Young Justice. It doesn’t have to be long, just a few seconds at most. We really need this, guys. Last time we had a campaign, the video turned out to be so meaningful and absolutely stunning. Don’t feel comfortable showing your face? Perfectly fine. Use whatever you want! Be it a Kid-Flash plush, a drawing, or just a quote. Any contribution is equally helpful. Once you have your clip, please email it to yjvids@yahoo.com by June 16th.

2. Follow @YJFANDOMFEST and nominate your favorite fandom members to gear up for #FandomFriday. We have some wonderful submissions, but we want more! Remember, we will be publishing these submissions every Friday in June using the tag #FandomFriday to spread awareness and thank our amazing fandom. Anyone and everyone is eligible, so go make someone’s day and nominate them for being amazing.

3. Promote, promote, promote. The only way this campaign can succeed is if everyone spreads the word and contributes. We want to show DC Universe that we love this show and will do anything to show it; that starts here. Reblog, send a video, thank a fandom member, and get ready to use hashtags and promote the campaign! We know this fandom is capable of amazing things, now it’s time to show the world.

4. Binge-watch the show and read the tie-in comics. It goes without saying, but the best way we can show DCUniverse that we want more YJ is to give them the numbers.

We’re so close, everyone, but we cannot do this without help! We are so excited to see what everyone is capable of.

With this whole Crashthemode stuff I can't help feeling useless because I live in Latin America and I haven't been able to watch s3 (at least not in a way that could help with the numbers). I don't know what to do to help, since it seems that the only thing that matters is $$$. I mean I could binge watch the first 2 seasons on Netflix but i don't think it would work.

Hi there! You are definitely definitely not useless! I know your situation is very frustrating, and I truly sympathize. Here’s my suggestions for you and all other international fans who want to support both #crashthemode and Young Justice: 

If you have the money to spend: 

Use a VPN to access DC Universe from an American IP address and purchase a subscription to watch the show. If you have the money for a VPN service and a subscription, this is the best way to support the show. 

Purchase episodes of YJ, or entire seasons on iTunes. Yes, it’s a little pricey. But again, the best way to support the show is by buying episodes and watching them. Someone please correct me if international fans cannot purchase episodes from iTunes.

Purchase official Young Justice merchandise. Like the very cute Wally West plush found here.

Purchase the official Young Justice comics on Comixology. These are wonderful reads and are all show-canon! I will circle back to the first bullet point, because if you’re able to get a DCU subscription, these are all included in it.

If you don’t have the money to spend: 

Binge the show on any legal platform that you can. Numbers are numbers, and any impact is something. Keep the show playing in the background if you can. 

Tweet and contact DCU to ask about the service for international fans. Yes, I know it seems hopeless considering they haven’t addressed anything so far, but keep trying! One day they’re bound to answer.

Follow #CrashtheMode very closely and participate. This is going to be a really fun campaign, y’all. We’re going to have streaming parties, hashtag marathons, and even a cast/crew appreciation week. We need your support! The best way you can help is by sharing and participating. We’ll only succeed if everyone gives it their all and does their part.

I do want to take a quick second to make a point, and that is if you are an international fan, don’t lose hope. You’re not a lesser fan for downloading the show illegally or watching it by any means that you can. DCU is a niche subscription that not everyone can access, and part of it is by their own doing. Some fans can’t afford a subscription. Many fans still can’t access it due to international barriers. If you have to watch the show using illegal means, you do you. Just make up for it by sharing posts, showing your support, and doing everything in your power to get this show renewed. 

Stay whelmed, friends <3 We’ll get through this.

Fandom Fridays

As part of #CrashtheMode, we want to start having Fandom Fridays. 

What are Fandom Fridays? Good question! 

Is there a member of the YJ Fandom you admire? Perhaps an artist you want to thank. A writer who makes you laugh. Or even just a tumblr user who reblogs great YJ content. This blog is for them!

Throughout the month of May, submit an ask or submission nominating someone to be recognized for their contribution to the YJ Fandom. You can submit as many as you like, anon or off anon! We won’t be posting them until May 31st. Here are the submission guidelines: 

Please make sure you include their username in both the post and the tags so they can find it.

Love and support only. Keep it positive.

Make it as long or as short as you want! The more the better.

Try to keep it focused on why you wish to nominate them, maybe something YJ related or what they do for the fandom.

Submissions will not be posted until Friday, May 31st. We will publish all submissions that meet the criteria at random.

Recognized: Young Justice Fandom Z-16

Welcome aboard everyone. Here’s your mission briefing:

With 61 days until the premiere of the second half of Young Justice: Outsiders, the fandom has gotten a little quiet. Therefore, we felt like it was time for a little mission. Unlike the team, however, this won’t be a recon: we need to make an explosion. It’s time to show the world how much we love Young Justice

Until YJ returns, your target is to follow your team leaders in promoting #CrashTheMode, a mass effort to show the world (and DC Universe) how much we care about this show and want it to be renewed for another season. Your team leaders are counting on you to give it your all in order to ensure the mission is a success.

Throughout the month of May, we have several tasks for you to complete. Here’s the breakdown:

Keep an eye out for further instruction from your team leaders. They are hard at work ensuring that June and July are filled to the brim with Twitter hashtags, viewing parties, and other fun events. A calendar will be posted at the beginning of each month with the events planned.
