Wholesome Wednesdays™

The observant among you will have noticed that today is Wednesday. Those with a particularly discerning eye will have noted that Wednesday begins with a "W," that most winning and fluid of letters. It is this same letter that takes its place nestled at the start of the word wholesome. And all things wholesome is what today is all about.

It is a word conducive of many things, such as a general sense of well-being, an appreciation of the simple pleasures, the irresistibly cute and cuddly, a little patience, and a touch of innocence. It's a little elusive, something of a one-size-fits-all, but what's for sure is that you know it when you see it. Lo, seeth the hearty posts plucked from the dash and enjoyeth the contented sigh that follows.

The most grim part of the "male loneliness epidemic" is that the studies done on it show that by every metric, down to "how many close friends do you have," women still have it worse than men, it's just that men previously had it better than women to a higher degree.

As in all things, the narrowing of privilege feels like oppression to those on top, and when there's any general downward trend, it's going to hit the people on the bottom hardest.

No matter what the issue, men will always have it easiest, but we'll always be expected to coddle them most.
