Yes very convenient
One of my favourite things about Digimon is that, canonically, meat just grows from the ground like a plant in the Digiworld.

Any Digimon can evolve into any Digimon of the same level or higher. (They can also devolve into any Digimon of the same level or lower)
Every piece of Digimon media is canon in some regard. Even when contradicting itself about the events of a specific piece of media while being referenced elsewhere.
Digimon is on some level a cosmic horror story except the horrors can be friendly.
Digimon gain power from their partnered humans from feeding on their emotions. It's fine, except for when it isn't. Digimon who aren't bonded to humans can also feed on human emotions.

To me, this makes a difference in how it feels to feed my digimon in vpets and games. Because I just picture the meat growing from the ground. ( I'm vegetarian irl )

I actually prefer for it to take some time to unlock each evolution and the more emotional turmoil and challenges the characters face before the evolution, the better
Since to me, it really has to be a result of both the human's and Digimon's personal growth, and of their relationship as well

On the topic of digimon. Quite frankly it's embarrassing that digimon savers isn't more popular if only for the fact of how fucking funny it is that the main character needs to personally punch whatever digimon they're fighting to be able to evolve his partner. Every time. And no one in the entire show ever tells him that maybe he should figure out how to evolve his partner without personally punching the enemy himself. Literally no other character has this kind of prerequisite its just that Masaru is built different

Whenever I see Renamon drawn with gigantic boobs and exaggerated feminine features, I’m always reminded of how Tamers Renamon says, in response to the question “you’re a girl, right?”, that “by nature, Digimon do not have genders.”, uses the gender-neutral pronoun watashi in Japanese, and was dubbed as male in German. It is by orders of magnitude more technically correct to call Renamon non-binary than anything else. And of course, non-binary people can have giant boobs and look as feminine as they want, but it’s still obvious that people see them as a girl. And what’s even funnier to me about this disconnect between author intention and public perception is that they doubled down on this, not even going for gender neutrality next time; the Renamon in Digimon Survive is more consistently gendered as male than anything else, barring a chapter where nearly every Digimon’s pronouns were reversed because the translation work is shoddy.

"Just because he's God doesn't mean he gets to do whatever he wants !" -Yoshino Fujieda
i don't think digimon data squad is the best digimon but i do like the philosophical position it takes: if god asks you to commit genocide, you should beat him to death with your fists

Ok that does happen several times
Digimon adventure plot lines go like
Tai: Haha good thing we found a safe space to sleep and we found food after seven days of starving. Though Matt’s ego could feed a whole village haha
ImGoingToStealYourSkinmon coming out from a bush: Give me your skin children

Whenever I see people who hate Digimon try to roast the series, saying, "It's for kids, and it's not like other anime that talk about serious stuff," I'm always so baffled. Did you people forget when Digimon Adventure talked about the severity of Yamato and Takeru's parents' divorce and how that impacted them?
Or the complicated relationship Sora had with her mother through Adventure? The minor implications of Our War Game when Taichi and Hikari were small children, and their dad came home drunk?
How about coming from a family that expects you to have your career figured out like Joe and not really considering his feelings when he talked about how it felt like to be the oldest of the chosen children.
Koushiro's backstory is that his parents had to tell him that he was adopted and that there was a car accident that killed his biological parents and his adoptive parent's child???
Heck, even in Digimon Adventure 02, Ken's survival guilt over his older brother's passing is pretty serious, and it goes against the whole "Digimon is just for kids" argument.
It's cool if you don't enjoy Digimon, but to act like the series itself doesn't touch on serious issues that can relate to not just kids but adults today is wild.

Don't you love it when you see a post that's just something you thought about millions of times without putting it into words because you thought no one else would care
Pokémon are dangerous cause it’s like a feral bear with a built in flame thrower and sees you in its territory. Theres no real morals with em, it’s just an animal (not including legendaries cause there gods basically)
Digimon are dangerous cause it’s either gonna be a feral hog attack or a beast with intelligence higher than your own, hunting you for sport and he has a nuke. They have a sense of morality if not societal ethics which they can choose to break or not. Even when it’s programmed into em.
Yokai in yokai watch are dangerous cause their lil assholes who want to cause problems. They’re not good nor evil as they’re just spirits preforming their purposes.
