mouse picked up by wind, holds tight her umbrella. wind raised her up and moving her over the city that is partially being rained on by a blind rain (sun is shining, but rain also rains very hard). city is cheerful and clean, yet so distant and alien
i drawn this picture out of frustration with portuguese health system, where i tried for more then a year to get help even though i already had a diagnosis and a severe discomfort. on the day i started making this picture in particular i was asked to come in to the health center in the dark hours before sunrise and was sent back after hours of waiting, after being refused any help. mean while the storm came from the ocean and brought the strongest rainfall this year and i got wet as a rat on my way home. wind was so strong i thought it would take me off the ground or break my umbrella. i had a severe cold for several days after that. i wished the wind would’ve caught me and brought somewhere where people wouldn’t laugh and scream at me for my poor language skills or being alien.
i feel so ashamed to talk on my hosts, to be critical of people whose guest i was, yet my feelings are here, and they are real and mine.
perhaps all bureaucracies are the same. perhaps i was just another inconvenient input. but if refusing help is equally good by their metric as helping people, their metric is of no good at all.

Hey! I haven’t been posting much of my personal work lately and I’m still unsure how to get back to posting in the open.
I have internal and external reasons for that. Internal I will keep to myself today, but the external will be addressed:
Until artificial neural-network assisted intellectual property theft would not get a proper wide public, political and judicial solution, I feel like my security is only in my hands.
Therefore, from now on I will use
TheGlazeProject (https://glaze.cs.uchicago.edu/)
glaze for my public posts.
From now on all or most of my images will have special patterns that will protect them from being used in unauthorized datasets.
I'm thinking about making them available somewhere without those patterns, but I will get back to you on that some other day.

my reimagining of a picture from a medieval book
remake of a picture from last page of „Speculum humanae salvationis“. i liked how the original image looked and i started making my version, but later i read an opinion that it originally had some darker meaning.
anyway, this is my second attempt at this scene and first finished painting in watercolors in more than 4 years so don’t judge me too strictly.
watercolors on paper and light digital retouch

Orange bits on the underside of fronds (leafs) are called sporangias. Photo shown is of a small fern I found on my walk. Note that fern grows on completely vertical surface.
I like local ferns because in the sporing season they look very colorful and vibrant when they curl in the wind.
My next goal: curled baby fronds you can see on the bottom, small fuzz on the stems and integration of curling mechanic from my yesterday’s test

Ferns never flower, but ones a year you can find their flower nonetheless
Video alt text: Blender 3d program interface, model of a fern from 2 pov, slider with float number from 0 to 1. when slider is on 1 fern frond (leaf) if coiled, when 0 frond is fully opened. Video shows how frond opens and closes up again
