This, in addition to the way Dick canonically has hallucinated Jason so sometimes he can't pick apart reality from fiction even with all his experiences with fear toxins and mind manipulations. So in the grey space of Jason having been dead, Dick would intrusively hallucinate scenarios where he was harming a young Jason and sure, some part of him knows it may not be real, but it still feels so real.
