My first ever OC was a self-insert for a three-way crossover of Danny Phantom, Fairly OddParents, and Teen Titans, because i thought a half-ghost cousin of Timmy Turner who fights bad guys with the Teen Titans was a really cool idea. I created her when I was 12 and she was like the main thing i would draw from the ages of 12-15. She was the first of many, MANY OCs, kicking off a phase that would last until the end of my freshman year of college, actually. However, Liz has actually stuck around and evolved into someone who could almost exist separately from the fandoms she started in, if only I could figure out how to make a cool-sounding teen hero group name on my own. ANYWAY Liz kicks ass and takes names and can't figure out what the fuck her superhero code name should be (because I originally called her Storm before I realized the name Storm was already taken, and haven't been able to come up with another good name since.)

theyre a pair of twin beasts, middle schoolers! i have no idea who is hazelnut and who is chestnut i kept calling them both names like that, theyre they/them in the way there are always two kids. these kids are beasts(?) that look like human but with magic and animal ears and tails. theyre adopted by a desi family of wizards so they do witchy spellcasting stuff. their names are in vietnamese cause. well im viet, and theyre kind of a ripoff of a vietnamese early 2000s tv show about a family of wizards (LOL) coming to the human world and try to blend in, except mine is just about the family trying to take care of these two beasts and the shenanigans revolve around them! if i were to continue writing them now i'd probably do the sitcom format, something like old d*sney channel series like wizard of waverly place (wait i think i also stole from this LMAO) or good luck charlie where the focus is on the interpersonal relationships of everyone in the family and how they are to the kids, growing as they learn to take care of them? idk. but this was 2012, i was 12, so i ripped from cardcaptor sakura and ben10 and pokémon or other similar video games to make them into mahou-kodomo shounen protags going around different worlds capturing creatures-of-the-week but theyre all in the back of my head now </3 vote for them if you like little animal freaks that would crawl on the floor chewing furniture and bite each other then cry to mom

Excavator [@enjoliquej] (he/him)

Behold, a mere mortal man, born with the name Excavator, destined to become part of one of the most fantastical endeavors known to man: Archeological Excavation.  Being gifted with a genius and brilliant name as Excavator, and having a career that shared the same name gave him some trouble with introductions.

Follow Excavator, the world's WORST and luckiest archeologist as he embarks across the world to different locations that his 12 year old writer was learning about in history class. Watch as his boss constantly fires and re-hires him on account of Excavator's stupidity and luck at finding rare artifacts. Embark on his first adventure when he accidentally hurled himself into a tar pit from clowning around and found the Rosetta Stone buried deep beneath. Join him on his trip to China where he gets thrown into a basket and is forced to float the Pacific Ocean for days until he discovers ancient Chinese scrolls hidden in the basket with him, narrowly escaping being fired by his boss yet again. Follow him to India where he believes he traveled to the 1800s and is mistaken for a butler and cleans precious furniture with bleach which ruins everything until he realizes he was just staying at some guys house the whole time and he didn't time travel to the 1800s.

He is an extremely skilled programmer and hacker. He starts the story having stayed awake for almost a week to work on a very powerful virus. He passes out and ends up in the computer world, where he is treated like a Grim Reaper figure (he does get a sick looking scythe too!). At first, this is a power trip to him, until he meets and gets attached to various people in the computer world, only to see them get disintegrated by the Virus, so now he is desperate to fix the destruction he designed, but he finds himself increasingly powerless, and even begins to feel the effects of the Virus on himself.

Cinnamon (he/him)

Green magical boy, uses his scythe to cut down bad thoughts/nightmares and like mind demons or whatever. I made him as a mentally ill 12 yr old after my therapist suggested i try to envision a physical helper to help me through difficult times or something like that?? so anime boy it was. He doesn't get used much anymore but he is very sweet

Cupid is like every normal middle school student, a pink-haired half-vampire totally not crushing on her girl best friend, seemingly born from every weird twelve year olds innate wish: make a video game.

Cupid journeys through the depths of hell to rescue her "girl best friend" (very subtle) from the evil Dark Overlord Xanata, who sealed her best friend into a crystal because she Also wants to be Cupid's "girl best friend".

she boasts a variety of super cool barely vampire related attacks that involve just straight up yelling at enemies! this girl has a sonic screech that can shatter glass, bulletproof bat wings, and a literal gun! you can practically hear angel with a shotgun (nightcore) blasting in the background.

why is the embodiment of love a vampire? because vampires are now ostensibly fallen angels. why is she fighting hell if she's a fallen angel? because it's cool.

Ash [@changeling-ash] (she/her)

She is so cool. My little self insert. My baby. Epic powerful magic.

Ash was part of a secret subspecies of humans (Homo sapiens dimutus) which could shapeshift, which she used to grow huge black wings or turn into a black leopard or look like a monster to scare enemies, anything as long as her brain stayed the same size or got denser to fit smaller. When she shapeshifted she would release green and blue fire from the power of the transformation (cause she has lots of copper in her blood that burns green. To protect against cancer, you see. Shapeshifting has lots of cancer risk so copper is sooo important)

She became one by genetic engineering at 15 so the dimutus could get more soldiers and spies for a war with the demon-like psyuedos (child soldier lol). She could come back to life because she had a failsafe that would activate where she would shapeshift away the wound and her brain would jolt back online. The only way to kill a dimutus was to kill the brain.

Like other dimutus, she could also dimension hop, so she'd travel the multiverse, from tv show to tv show or to the universe with dragons or with cool landscapes. She was good with a sword and something called a bladed quarterstaff, which is basically one of those two sided lightsabers but a blade. She was mentored by one of the most powerful dimutus of the war and is super powerful too compared to other dimutus.

Okay time for my propaganda once more!

Ash is my girl, my baby.

She has TWO dragons. The first one is Flicker, who is strong and agile with black scales and a violet belly. Ash rides on her back and she speaks dragon at her. Her other dragon is Zephyr, who she raised from an egg and he looks like a blue sky with white patches like clouds, and random little flecks of gold scales. He's lithe and fast and so agile. She can summon them from their alternate universes by calling out "Tul Lüg" for Flicker and "Zep-iagh" for Zephyr, and they leap from portals to fight.

She can speak so many languages. The language of Dimutus is actually Modernized Latin. She knows English, Spanish, French, Latin, Italian, ASL, and has the best translators.

She made friends with a shadowy wolf companion called a Shadowlupe who accepted her as part of the pack. She runs with him in hunts as a wolf.

She can do a double backflip. Enough said.

She would fly with huge black wings, it was her favorite thing to do. Knew how to do all the tricks. She is dimension hopping miles in the air just to fall for ages, then fly at breakneck speeds. And she was terrifying in battle, she would dodge and weave and slash as she passed, an airborne killing machine.

She could give herself big springy legs to jump so high and do crazy tricks. She adapted herself to move fast, bounce and parkour her way at insane speeds. She could traverse so well.

She also did normal parkour. It was a fun challenge to try with minimal modifications. Pretended a lot of parkour POV vids were her.

She had two cats trained to infiltrate bases cause they are kitties and can fit through the vents and no one suspects the kitties. Baya was a Bengal and Shadow was a beautiful medium hair black cat.

She could also dimension hop in a way that was like astral projecting. She'd just be floatin, near invisible. She'd keep her wings in that state to pull them from the dimension fast to use them quickly. Her friends would chill there and comment to her while she was doing boring things.

She had a ragtag best friend and copilot partner Katie that was the mostest important person to her. Her brother in arms, her guy in the chair, her support, and Ash was the same to Katie. They were ride or die, and they died a lot for each other. (I basically made a QPP a decade before I myself ended up in one. Probably an early sign I was aro.)

She lost her arm sometimes, and she'd have a badass prosthetic if she couldn't shapeshift it back right away.

So much trauma from being a child soldier will come later. Her future character with me a decade later is somethin.

Flamepaw [Silvia Flowers] (he/him)

Flamepaw is a warrior cats OC, a Thunderclan cat who got abused by his mentor and died to a badger. As a Starclan cat he was revived (by Starclan) to protect this new apprentice who was going to be abused by the same mentor, her name was Bramblepaw (who I actually made earlier, but she has an okay-ish story in another time its sorta mundane). They fell in love and after some moons when theyre made warriors, they have a kit named Faithkit, which, for some reason, Starclan didn't like, because Starclan *loves* making arbitrary rules about romance, and he's banished, but not before his (dead) mom gives him and his family these crystals that let them turn into my "original species" called Drattus (theyre just dragon cats. theyre cats with dragon wings.)

And that is the end of this goobers story, he goes on to leave the clans and find a Drattus colony somewhere idk, he was my sona for awhile! He's goofy but I love him, and I hold him very near and dear to my heart. I have faith he can murder all the mary/gary sues in his path with his dragon cat abilities >:)

Alana [@octonine] (she/her)

She's a girl that lives in a small village in an ice mountain and has fire powers linked to her emotions (specifically anger). And she's really scared of her powers because they could literally destroy the village. Basically inverted Elsa from Frozen.

Honestly I still like this character and I'll probably use her in a story someday but "the sin" here is that, like most OCs made by 12-year-olds (in my case literally 12), she has a really fucking angsty backstory.

The story I was gonna put her in (long abandoned idea) is that she was one of 6 people from different universes that were chosen to stop an evil force or something (I legit don't remember), so her backstory is what happened in that mountain in her universe, and I had three ideas:

1- She had hidden her powers from the townsfolk really well until she... accidentally hurts her sister... and the village discovers her powers... and she's chased by a mob out of the moun- it's basically Frozen if Arendelle was on a mountain, nothing really original.

2- Everyone was aware of her powers but she was still scared of them, until she accidentally KILLS her sister, and the village becomes scared of her (but without the angry mob part), so she flees from the village and tries to survive by herself... in a forest (we have no idea why 12y me wanted to see this poor girl suffer because of her fire powers so much, like why??)

3- She accidentally... burns down her village... to the ground... and only she survives... (THE FUCK 12-YEAR-OLD ME, WHY?? WHAT DID SHE DO TO YOU TO DESERVE THIS??) We've been toning down on the traumatic backstories since then (and stopped torturing our OCs, goddess I'm scared of 12y me).

The Prince of a kingdom of fire. I wrote a whole 40 page book about his life. At 10 his little sister is born but shortly after his mum has to leave to the Kingdom of air (yes it was a 4 elements world) on a diplomatic mission to form an alliance. The new nanny sent to look after him and his sister is a bitch, and 2 years later marries his dad after news arrives that his mum was assassinated on her way back home. He discovered through convoluted means that this new lady paid hitmen to kill his mom so that she could marry his dad and become queen. His now step mom is in cohorts with an evil god, and using his power she curses Ashes crown so on his cornation day he goes mad and gets arrested. Also he has a side plot romance but like I didn’t come up with that till way later so like-

Oh my god. This oc has everything. His family had a lineage of magic that manifested mainly in telekinetics and irises that changed shape by expression, and also had a magic crown that would amplify his powers to the point of splitting him into 3 different people that were sections of his personality. His girlfriend was the main character of the story who was the classic "happy go lucky borderline zero personality turtleneck sweater" oc. Also his girlfriend and him ended up transitioning in the years since I've even thought about this story so he's t4t

Vinn [@mx-yip-yip-hooary] (they/them)

i made them as a very mentally ill child. as in they are quite literally the concept of compartmentalization. enjoy.

so for context, the world has two sets of lore. one set is the backstory that all the characters know about (like history, language, etc.) and the other is the meta one. the first backstory isn't really important here so ill only talk about the meta one.

basically, the creator of the world (aka 12 year old me) decided to split themselves into two. one side was all the negative feelings that the creator felt, the other was all the positive feeling. the positive side was surprise surprise vinn! the creator kept the negative side (Nyth) and Vinn in a void while they created the happiest possible life they could imagine for themselves. the creator wanted to send out vinn to live in that fantasy while keeping nyth trapped in the void. but the creator didn't realize that vinn and nyth bonded over their time in the void. so when vinn was sent out and had their memories of the void erased, nyth got really bitter. nyth decided to remotely corrupt the creator's fantasy and make it so vinn was never truly happy, despite being coded with all the creator's "happy" traits.

ok so vinn enters the world and forgets all their time in the void. they are now completely unaware of the meta lore, and only know the world's lore. for some reason, they grow up with a constant sinking feeling, and a dread that they can never shake. also they have telekinesis because in the world's lore, there's remnants of magic from a great war years ago. uh the telekinesis makes them go into a magical support group where they get a found family ^-^

eventually, nyth gains enough power to actively influence the world. nyth starts messing with vinn's friends and making them relive their Trauma. vinn is trying really hard to support all of them, but suspects that something else is happening here. after nyth breaks through for a second, vinn only becomes more suspicious. vinn tries to investigate which leads to nyth dragging vinn out of the fantasy world and back into the void.

vinn is kinda pissed because nyth kept fucking over their life and all their friends, but nyth says that they have a bigger enemy. nyth explains the whole creator thing, which makes vinn very conflicted. vinn asks if nyth can go into the fantasy world, but nyth states that, because they were coded with the "negative" traits, they cannot go into a world which is the creator's most ideal fantasy, as they can never imagine that for themselves. basically, since nyth embodies the creator's despair, they cannot enter a world that is the creator's most happy place. this makes vinn decide to combine consciousnesses with nyth and bringing nyth out of the void.

tldr; two sides of consciousness fight really hard to rejoin again

Pink [@somebodytolove31] (she/her or he/him)

Okey so basically I created her for a superhero school roleplay I had with friends, her tragic backstory is that her father is a deadbeat but is also a hero, he got Pink's mom pregnant and then told her if she ever approached him he would kill her. Pink had a nice life with her single mom until the mom got sick and decided to go to Hero, thinking maybe he would have a bit of compassion, needless to say he didn't and followed through his promise. Pink saw all of this and now it's her life's purpose to kill him, even if it kills her.

I recently refound the roleplay and decided to develop the character on her own, I may have changed the setting and her gender and other shit, but I've decided to not touch her backstory or her character arc where she starts making friends and realizes there's a lot more to life than just revenge (she still gets his dad arrested, but that's a long story)

Oh yeah did I mention she can turn into a wolf? She can turn into a wolf

My first Warrior Cats oc... those were the days. Dawnstripe is a medicine cat in Riverclan. She originally wanted to be a warrior, but on her very first day of apprenticeship she tried to climb a tree and. well she fell on a rock, landed paws-first and had all of her claws break off. My fifth grade mind was very creative. Anyways, after she became a medicine cat, she almost immediately got into a half-clan relationship and had two kits. I never thought about one of the kits, but the other one got into a relationship with a dark forest ghost and they?? Domehow had kits?? Ask past me.

Description

She was a grey cat with bue eyes and three purple stripes on one of her ears. As stated above, she had no front claws.

When Numenor fell, she survived by .... floating to the shores of Middle Earth while clinging to a wooden harp case? It's a bit fuzzy to me now, but I do remember having a romantic arc planned out involving Glorfindel. Anyway cringe is dead, long love self-inserts and middle school escapism!

ok so from what i remember they were the most stereotypical oc in the history of ocs. also i made them when i was a gacha kid. sue me.

Ok so John is this kid who has like a shit family. his parents aren't physically abusive, but they're very neglectful. this leads to the kids being very mean to each other, as they each blame the others for their parents' lack of care. one day, after a particularly bad argument, john runs off to blow some steam. he finds this sword just lying in the middle of woods and picks it up. surprise surprise the sword was possessed by a angel general who fought in a ancient "demons vs angels" war. (the lore is that centuries ago there were three groups; angels, demons, and humans. humans came along later, and both the angels and demons didn't like them and therefore hid from them. but the thing is angels and demons don't like each other too, and kept having fights. it escalated into a war that destroyed both societies. the remaining magic from the battle still lingers)

john now has powers! yippee! he can summon weapons when he feels like basically. but the thing is he doesn't know that he has powers. because yknow he doesn't really think of summoning weapons most of the time. but he is aware theres Something Else in his head. huh. the general keeps trying to get john to collect more magic and build up the angel forces again but john just has no clue what the guy is talking about. one day though john snaps at his older sister and almost accidentally kills her. his parents to disown him.

but good thing for him there's actually now a group dedicated to finding out what these magical residue marks are and helping people affected. so hes taken into that and joins a friend group :]

Edgy middle school self insert/fursona!

- her eyes would change color based on her emotions

- she had stitches all over that could open up and release shadowy dark magic

- she would wear a shock collar purely cuz it's cool

- she had an animatronic form named Twisted Shadow that functioned similarly to the Funtimes FNAF animatronics (stomach cavity, luring abilities, can cause hallucinations)

- She was shipped with Antisepticeye (yes, jacksepticeye's evil alter ego)

- She could smell blood for miles like a shark
