Little Joe
THIS SCENE! ladies and gentlemen, this scene was so beyond beautiful. Although, we have not completely disregarded all the bad Joe has ever done but this scene screams so much, despite being so simple, so slow, so straightforward. Throughout season 1 and 2 mostly, we see Joe as either an obsessive boyfriend or a killer, but in this scene, we see how human he is, how broken apart he is, and how desperate he is for love (no pun intended). That he just keeps gravitating towards love and tries to desperately make it work, in whatever twisted ways he can, but that is the thing, he does not realise that his ways are twisted, dark, and wrong because he hasn't learned anything else. Aaah, this scene made me want to hug the little Joe and tell him it will be fine. <3

Joe/Forty
Out of everything about season 2, Joe and Forty’s scenes and moments felt the most real ones. Perhaps, its a far stretched idea, but Forty only saw and figured out the real side of Joe, and that in itself shows, not just how smart Forty is, which he isn't given much credit for, (with credits to his dad). Forty, who initially we saw as a rich spoilt kid, is just affection and validation hungry and so sees joe as a potential authentic connection in the midst of the LA hustle-bustle. And which is why there was a potential of serious character development and a relationship of some sort. But this is just our headcanon.
But, the writers probably just have a bigger, a different vision for the characters and the show, but we can't help but imagine how cute these two would have been if they (writers) would have given them a chance. Oh well..

Forty and Joe (au fanfic)
Tumblr media
Joe could see Forty cripple down, it was like looking someone sinking while your hands are tied, with what?. Since he had moved to LA, this is the last thing he had expected, to become so emotionally invested in someone like Forty. They had both their own demons to fight, and somehow fighting against each other's demons seemed far easier. Looking at Forty’s vulnerability, his desperation for affection and acceptance was like looking inwards for Joe and suddenly he did not feel so out of place. And perhaps for a flicker of a moment, Joe had a momentous hope for the both of them. But maybe between them both, as much as Joe would hate it to be real, Forty was long gone, even as he sat on the floor in front of him, looking calmer than usual, looking relieved than usual, as though he had figured out all the answers that would crawl at the back of his mind, it was like Forty had come to a bittersweet conclusion for himself, and that was that he was a lost cause and was now just waiting for the final call.
