The layout above was not the original plan. We were supposed to shoot on a real water surface but the materials to use aren’t available. We did the on the spot planning and I think we made it work.

Above is the mood board made by GRNGO who conceptualized and styled the Campaign Shoot. “ Serving you an Editorial Campaign that a cosmetic brand deserves. Our VISION is to (1) Translate the product through classic ad concept and creative visuals. (2) To maintain as much as possible the same exact colors from its tone and to the product pigmentation. It was rough to play with the lights but it is very important to keep those elements. (3) To made an impact on the growth of the brand. (4) To measure and stay to the value of the campaign and ensuring to reach its audience. Hoping that we gave enough justice that the brand needs.” GRNGO shares.

PERSONA: GRNGO, Fashion Designer, Creative Director, Stylist, and Storyteller
Tumblr media
“to tell and to share the story and to leave something to them”
I am GRNGO, I am simply a visionary. I oversee SIMY Productions’ content and visual, posts as Creative Director, Stylist of SIMY. But above all else, a storyteller. From fashion design graduate in 2017 to fashion and style warrior, I’ve made progress – the influence and nourishing insights are a testament to this. Here’s a tell all, from my humble beginnings to the biggest milestones I accomplished since then.
How did I start my career in fashion here in the country?
I started as a fashion student at Fashion Institute of the Philippines in year 2013 and got back in 2016. As I study fashion, I get to learn that it’s all in, Art, Style, Music and all the elements in life could be found in fashion. I finally graduated in 2017.
Why I became a Creative Director?
I always wanted to introduce future and diversity of fashion in my community. I found out that my community still can’t absorb changes as they laughed at me when I wore my dropped- crotch pants or asymmetrical skirt on the street. This is the main reason why I pushed through on becoming a creative director, it’s about introducing future and diversity of fashion.
What does my role as Creative Director for SIMY Production entail?
As a creative director, my lookout is to make sure that each of our product has the SIMY vibe. I learned about putting up some stories and translate it into the visuals.
On set, how do I collaborate with the rest of the creative team?
Before coming to the set, I send visions to the team. A mood board, keywords or a summary of photography vibes, make up, hairstyles, styling and directions. If I have enough time, I share the whole story to the team on why I came up to the idea. I also consult my photographer on his vision so we can execute my plan and his desire into the images. As much as possible, I want to get the exact plan but sometimes it doesn’t work and that is totally fine. This is when fun collaboration begins. Photographer will adjust lights or POVs, make up artist will add or reduce this and that and that is totally fine. It’s always about the collaboration. I feel contented when the whole team is happy and satisfied about our product.
As a stylist, what’s my creative process like?
I normally take one of two approaches depending on the assignment. I enjoy doing transformation to the subject. I love to see my subject on their unusual looks. As much as possible I wanted an image to become seamless. Putting everything from head to toe in one frame. I always picture of what would the audience can feel about the image within those clothes and it’s hard to pull of when resources are limited.
How do I use clothes to tell a story?
Clothes will always be a huge part of a story. You can’t describe Cinderella without the light blue ball gown she wore and the glass slippers. I love experimenting and telling a story through clothes. For example, in character costumes, it doesn’t need to be as character it is. You can be in a character through colors or the silhouette. It’s how we interpret the idea through clothes. I also consider appropriation. Whether on age, religion and more. Sometimes I really don’t consider the comfort especially on prints, please saglit lang ‘to. Tiis ganda nalang muna…
What makes a good fashion image?
A good fashion image, whether colored or black and white, must a have a focal point and a story. You must feel an emotion when you see a good image. It’s always about the story and how the audience interpret it. It’s about compiling everything in one frame. I also love putting candid or at the moment moments as highlight. That makes a real fashion image.
What’s the one thing an aspiring creative should be prepared for before entering the fashion industry?
Research and study history. It’s so important to know the history of everything. When you know about the story and how it all started, everything will go smooth. Also, that’s the secret of having a well- executed thing. It all start with a history.
What’s the worst misconception I’ve heard about myself and about working in the fashion?
About myself, is that I am bitchesa. I am an introvert, I usually don’t do anything, I don’t like to talk on crowd and always on a poker face, but that’s their impression. As working in the fashion, it’s that Glamorosa. They always see the product, but they don’t see the behind the seams or the hustle I did behind that. In this field, we need to walk the talk.
What’s the most memorable experience in my career so far?
It’s always my Graduation Show in 2017. I think that wraps me up as a whole. The time I was established as a designer.
What do I look for when hiring someone to join our team?
Knowledgeable. I need someone who is smart, creative, nice and fun to work with. Someone who knows when to work and when to have fun.
 What is my message?
I’ve been so lucky for the platform they gave. I feel so electrified to know that I was able to pursue what I want. I know that I am just starting, I know that there is more to come. It feels so good to know that I accepted the thing because I want to introduce change and diversity in my community, until my community suddenly embraced and enjoying what I and my team done. I don’t want to be remembered by the one with the shades on, the one who’s always in black or white shirt nor the best creative director that conceptualize shoots. That’s just an image. Ayoko’ng mag- iwan ng imahe, gusto ko mensahe and that is to always tell a story.

Tumblr media
BTS’s “Dynamite” soars back to the top of the Hot 100!
Billboard has announced that “Dynamite” rises back to No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart dated October 3. The Hot 100 ranks the most popular songs in the United States across all genres based on streaming, radio airplay, and sales data.
BTS previously became the first all-South Korean act to grab No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart when “Dynamite” debuted at the top, and it remained there for a second week before spending the two following weeks at No. 2. They’ve now extended their history-making No. 1 record to three weeks in total!
The return of “Dynamite” to the top of the Hot 100 is fueled by 14 million U.S. streams (up 11 percent) and 153,000 downloads sold (up 96 percent) in the week ending September 24, according to data from Nielsen Music/MRC Data. Billboard notes that 52 percent of the song’s overall sales from the week ending September 24 were of its four new “NightTime” remixes (Bedroom, Midnight, Retro, and Slow Jam), which came out on September 18.
Meanwhile, “Dynamite” spends a fifth consecutive week at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart, and it also soars from No. 17 to No. 12 on the Streaming Songs chart. It’s risen from No. 47 to No. 42 on the Radio Songs chart, after the song garnered 20.8 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 8 percent) in the week ending September 27.
Billboard’s charts for this week will be shared on its website on September 29 local time.

On the Cover: SIMY VI
Tumblr media
SIMY VI Winners Edrian Clemente and Marjorie Apostado on the Cover. Creative Directed by Den Den Corpuz, Photo by MJ Santiago, Styled by GRNGO, Makeups by Christian Joy Cruzado and James Karl Lababit, Hair by Bea Dela Cruz
You know with SIMY, we feel like every look has to be the best, every concept has to be the next big thing. From the first spark of inspiration to sophisticated concepts, SIMY has produced lots of fashion editorials that legitimizes our models like they're stars and will forever be a stars. The brand equity of SIMY is really strong and to maintain to that level, we have to be consistent with our formula. And that is turning our models be somebody to someone. WE MADE 'EM BRIGHT.
On our 6th Year, we're taking you back to the good 'ol days as we visit to the Past. Inspired by the Beauty of 60's and Fashion from late 90's, we are rallying as we walk through the best era for such soul- enriching epiphanies... There are a ton of life lessons we learned from the past, which still hold true to this day. The decade of counterculture & revolution in social norms and the hip nineties was packed with important learning experiences and educational platitudes, and we're here to round up the pop culture the era had to offer.
Tumblr media
3 to 4 layouts were made and we took inspirations from these iconic concepts from the past. For Marjorie, we decided to join the ranks of some of the biggest supermodels in the history. We were immortalized by Photograhper Mario Testino in nothing but a white cloth for his iconic Towel Series. Previous models featured in the said project includes Naomi Campbell, Hadid Sisters and Kendall Jenner, to name a few.
For Edrian’s layout, we took the concept from the early 2000′s Glamour Shots which is usually taken on a studio with the iconic blue abstract background. These shots can be usually seen in Portrait’s Glam Shots and Yearbook portraits. The styling were inspired by the timeless menswear trend. The combination of a turtle neck shirt and a coat makes a dashing gentleman on fleek.
Tumblr media
For this lay- out, we took inspirations from the classic movies/ TV Shows from late 90′s to early 00′s. For Edrian, We visualized modern Will Smith in the SitCom The Fresh Prince of Bel- Air (1990-1996). Colorful windbreakers and a little movement produced Edrian’s best shot. Making a layout so fetch on Marjorie as we conceptualized Women’s Power from the iconic films Mean Girls (2004), Jawbreaker (1999), and Empire Records (1995). From plaid crop top and skirt, Marjorie pulled off the shot as if she’s in a character.
