“So you forgive them, just like that?”
i’ve never felt that it was a matter of forgiveness, more of if you accept to continue watching the content and creators even if you disagreed strongly with a business move. if you can move past it. forgiveness would be more personal, and imply a relationship.. which isn’t the case. i think shane and ryan are great content creators, and i find their content very entertaining, they’ve taken accountability and changed the issues i had with the streamer. why wouldn’t i come back?
“they’re still money hungry, they revealed their true colors!”
they’re a business, and they have 25 employees that rely on them. of course they’re looking for profit, and expand the business. that’s what businesses do

Michael Reeves is the most unhinged mad scientist I've had the honor of watching on YouTube. Every day I'm thankful he is addicted to video games and robots and nothing that sinister.
watcher alternatives
in honor of steven and the ghoul boys shitting the proverbial bed, here's some of my favorite youtube channels/podcasts with similar vibes!
michael reeves: an extremely unhinged youtuber who makes robots! he only posts once or twice a year, but his videos are super worth it!
sorta stupid: my favorite reaction channel. these guys are super chill and funny, and they are the ultimate allies (go check out their toh series if you wanna see them be huge lumity shippers!)
microwave society: they also do reactions, but they specialize in shitty kids movies (and the occasional classic like megamind or shrek). check out their veggietales videos if you want to laugh until you puke.
max0r: does unhinged video game reviews that are like crack for people with adhd.
anthpo: he's not making videos anymore, but all his stuff is up on youtube and he perfectly balances feel-good and funny.
cryptid keeper podcast: this podcast has major early-unsolved vibes and they somewhat have the skeptic/believer dynamic as well.

It’s been disheartening watching everyone turn against @wearewatcher but it’s absolutely valid. Creators should be paid for their work, but moving free content to a paid subscription will never win people over. Also, whilst $6 isn’t much to most, with the most streaming services now offering lower priced memberships which include ads, most people are going to choose something like Netflix over Watcher; we can’t afford every subscription service, and most are going to opt for one that gives you the most selection.
This has been really sad for me as a fan. I have a ticket to the life Ghost Files show in Glasgow next week, and part of me doesn’t want to go because I’m not even going to get to watch the series anymore anyway.

NEWS FLASH:
I've watched and followed Ryan and Shane from their B*zzfeed Unsolved days, before they even had the B*zzfeed Unsolved Network YouTube channel, and when they would randomly pick a fight or guest Steven.
And when they left and created Watcher Entertainment, I've always thought that their locations, cinematography, set design, little animation here and there, and creative content were on a scale higher than usual content creators on YouTube.
Watcher has a sleek branding, and they follow a rigid schedule for posting each content depending on their segment. Each segment is well-thought of, and caters to a certain niche of interest. It's not just ghost-hunting boys anymore. If you go back there’s a segment for just chatting, video games, cooking, culture, history, and other things.
I’ve always thought a production of their scale is bigger than YouTube. And I think they deserve to earn as much as they're putting in creating content in Watcher.
But in the same breath, I do understand and recognize that this is polarizing to int’l fans. Me included. I don’t know how they’ll be able to grow their following when things are behind the paywall. I’m also not sure how deleting existing content would benefit them. I don’t know how people would find their content other than ads if existing content is wiped out. But then again, I do not work as a content creator, so I’m probably ignorant about the things that happen behind the scenes.
The bottom line, I guess, is that I am proud of them. And I’m sad I wouldn’t be able to watch their content anymore.
But some things you cannot love for free.
Regardless, good luck to the Watcher Boys. Thank you for all the entertainment you’ve provided for free from all those years. May this may become a successful venture to you!
Until next time. 👁️

sometimes I think that no matter how bad my fanfics are I still wanna publish them because it would rot with me if I didn't
I don't want to rot without seeing the light of day. I don't want my fics to rot without the light of day.
