WOAH!!! Holy moly SAME HAT 👀‼️‼️‼️

The urge to bind… I need to bind more… 👁️👁️

I er, may have taken one of my fav books to bookbind a few of my favorite fanfics into a lil collection (all by THE Transformers writer of all time @doomspoon888 ).

It was a gift to my friend @not-a-mang0 ^w^

I kept the sleeve to easily disguise the book on a shelf (Well, it’s book #7 of a series by itself but shhh)

Cutting!!! Dad bought a new boxcutter for this omg thank god bc the old one was rusted to bits

There’s some irony that I’m doing this on a paper guillotine (it cuts crooked unfortunately) and the fact that I’m using an old cricut mat because I bought it ages ago without realizing we already had one.

Yuni sneaking out to the shed to snag sandpaper and a wooden block at 1am pictured

After cutting and sanding down the edges (dont do that in a poorly ventilated room kids), I actually used some gift paper that was in a gift a mutual of ours had given me when we’d met up just a week prior. My sentimental ass still had it and so I used it for reinforcement for this book ^w^

I still used what I usually did for the spine on top of that as well, so even if it isnt visible, It’s still there :3

3am rolls around.

You’re supoooosed to let it dry for a few hours or overnight but I didn’t have overnight. (Oops)

So instead I waited til it was dry enough to where I could insert it into the book cover and just pressed it without looking back.

The aftermath. It looks like a tornado hit 😭‼️

In the morning I checked on it, and it was actually pretty good! It wasn’t warped or anything but I made sure not to open it just in case some things were still a lil wet ;;

If I had more time I would’ve sanded it down a lil more but it’s still so incredible to have a physical copy of your favorite fanfics! Mango loved it so I call it a win 😌

Adding in some progress pics because I’d put a lot of love into this and inhaled sawdust on two separate occasions during the making of this.

Putting it all into Word!

Finalizing the list of fanfics (because I had to cut one out 💔 or else it wouldn’t fit into the cover)

So at the printing stage, I was going to use random heavy objects to press my signatures but I realized I wanted to put a lil more effort into this. I bought a slab of wood, cut, sanded, and then drilled holes into each corner to make my own press (dont do this on a windy night without proper protection like I did kids)

I realized I had free will and had a fun idea. What if I *painted* this. Slabs of wood are paintable right? Might as well use that semester of painting class for good use.

Aaand I have this old sketch right here that’s totally perfect as a reference! 👀

I’ve worked on this further and it’s still a WIP that I haven’t finished or touched in months so might as well repurpose it for this.

Printed it out, put on the underpainting, transferred it onto my board, then realized Star looked a lil too lonely.

I was debating on Skyfire but I realized, this is IDW screamer, he needs his emotional support ghost.

I actually did have a soft deadline for this since I was meeting up with said friend and a few other mutuals to go tf figure shopping. Quite actually decided to do this 3 days before said meet.

By the time the painting had gotten to that stage I only had 1 day left.

I printed it all out, and left it overnight to press.

Then came the sewing of the signatures and the gluing! I actually managed to knock this all out within one afternoon but since the meet was quite actually the next morning, I spent til 4am speed drying, gluing, cutting the pages down to size, and sanding down the edges.
