Imma start trying to work on a long-term fanfiction, Lawlu specifically, so I wanted to get your imput. Also, I don't think that for the time travel!Au the main thing is gonna be romance more so a rewrite but also not. Adding my own personal headcannons and maybe even adding other people's that I find interesting.

Just so yall know it's gonna be kinda funky cuz it'll be my first long term fic ( o´ｪ｀o)

God x Devote Au

-Law after a long night of medical/magic work goes to an old church Cora used to take him to. It's run down and abandoned. He's always liked the place despite never really believing in the gods spoken of. He starts smoking and closes his eyes

-When he wakes up he sees Luffy or Nika. The same God who has given Law and Cora the blessing to get put thr doflamingo family and start their own coven. But being high he just thinks he is having the trippiest dream ever.

-The next day he wakes up and goes to work like normal. But a new young man comes through the door with a smile that could rival the sun's. He seems so familiar and comforting but Law just doesn't know why.

-Afterwards he keeps going to the church and eventually finds scriptures and starts praying. Each time making Luffy for powerful until he can stay in a mortal form for longer and his influence spreads again

Time travel Au

-I wanna make one where Luffy dies while being shot from behind with sea-stone bullets. Forced to watch as his Nakama race to him while they get slaughter. He then wakes up with a lot more knowledge as a small child and decides he will become pirate king and keep his nakama safe. So he finds all his nakama in order of most urgent. Law and Sanji on the top of that list then Nami and others.

-Also he doesn't only save law but also Cora. Then directs them to where they can find bepo and the rest.

-Law is just staring at Luffy while the child drags Corazon who is carrying Law on his back to a dingy old ship. Luffy is covered head to toe because he doesn't want to be associated as Laws hero. He knows Torao and the man would hate being indebted to him

-Also he is always dragging Sabo and Ace with him, never let's them out of his site and when the day that Sabo 'dies' originally comes he goes up to his father and asks him to make Sabo strong.

Also, in my head, I want him to tear down the government before they even become a major problem for him. He'd much rather let the world burn than watch his Nakama crying as he dies again

Re blogging cuz I feel like this needs some more attention (。･´д`･。)

Luffy stood over the crumbled bodies of his crew mates. His breathing ragged and loud. Every muscle in his body hurt but he had kept his nakama safe. That's all that mattered as he looked at the dead bodies littering infront of him. Blood dripping from his hair soaked in it. He spit out someone's flesh and uncleached his fist. Letting some marines disembodied head fall.

He slowed his breathing and took a moment to close his eyes. He could feel the rays of the sun rise hitting his cold skin, making the hairs on his skin rise. He took one last breath of the metallic like air before leaning down and picking up his crew one by one.

Torao would be waiting for them a couple villages over and he couldn't wait. That brought a smile to his lips while he walked away leaving the disaster behind him.

He didn't like killing. He didn't usually do it despite his crew partaking in it regularly. But sometimes the marines seemed to forget he was a captain before he was human. He had been sleeping back on the ship while his crew went to adventure, his last fight leaving him still quite tired. Then he had heard his personal den-den mushi ring and that was all it took for him to wake up and run to where his nakama was at. He had seen as they were all knocked out before they could so much as fight back.

Then he couldn't control himself, he felt the familiar ache in his chest he had when ever he saw his Nakama fall. Normally he didn't need to get involved, his crew was more than strong enough. But even they got caught off guard. So he rushed into the fight and killed every single marine who so much as thought of hurting his Nakama.

Luffy would have to explain to Nami why the marines would be chasing them for the next couple of days again.

Luffy laid in bed, curled up while hugging his knees. A small red piece of fabric pressed up against his face. It was dirty and was not comfortable but it smelled like him. Smelled like his brother.

His brother who he lost.

His brother who died believing Sabo was dead.

His brother who died blaming himself for something a horrible government did.

His brother who was so strong and kind and just the best.

His big brother.

He cried into the blanket, letting out all his grief. The grief that he could not process when he first saw Ace dying. He sniffled and buried his face further into the dingy blanket. Trembling as he let out broken sobs, the force of them so strong he heaved a little. Breathing heavily as he tried to talk. Not to anyone, for he was alone. But for the world. The world needed to hear his cries and maybe it would answer.

"Please..please just bring my big brother back! He is my brother! I need him! Please.."

He finally choked out and he swore he could hear the voice of the world cooing sadly for him. The wind making the leafs shuffle slowly, the birds quieting their chirping, and the ocean waves become gentler. Soothing his cries. Holding the blanket him and his brothers used to use when they were children. He struggled to breath until he tired himself out and passed out. Still trembling and sniffling.

I love (and am actively ill over) the fact that ace canonically will not shut up about his lil guy. when jinbe found out ace’s brother was in impel down he was like OHHHHH LUFFY the kid in the strawhats you’re ALWAYS talking about. to luffy’s face he’s like “punk ass” but to everyone else he’s handing out school pictures from his wallet

I think something abt luffy that makes him so enchanting is that he's introduced as being very silly and goofy, and you kind of expect him to be humbled or experience the harsh reality of what being a pirate actually means (cruelty, theft, actually being a bad person etc.) and have to adjust his world view, but then fucked up things start happening and he's still silly and goofy about it and you find that he actually wasn't sheltered at all and he is just a little fucked up himself, but still happy and loving

and then its Everyone Else who has to adjust to what his idea of a pirate is bc he keeps winning and they're just like "yeah okay. whatever. I guess thats what this is in now."
