Anyone else getting overwhelmed by the amount of asks from “people” (“survivors” of war) asking for help. I by no means mean to be rude but I’ve gotten several “people” using asks to ask for charity and views. I’m an entirely broke Alien with very little followers. I can’t help. It’s not that I don’t feel bad for actual survivors of bad stuff. But I am the worst possible person to ask for help.

Dib: You had a nightmare? What are you, five years old?

Zim: Listen, I needed to feel comfortable and I was getting this perverse power dynamic vibe from me sleeping on the floor and you sleeping up there-

Dib, in a royal accent: Why yes, how high and mighty I am up on my twin XL!

Zim: That is not what I meant—

Dib: Silence in the presence of your king, who sleeps a lofty twelve and a half inches above the ground!

Zim: Listen, I’m not ashamed. I slept comfortably when I got up on your bed and I’m sure you did too.

Dib: Yeah, okay-

Zim: You know what? I wanna know. How’d you sleep last night?

Dib: …That was the best I’ve slept in a while.

Zim, gasping: The king slept comfortably with a peasant in his bed!

Dib: I did not consent to this-

Zim, dramatically: But my liege, our love is forbidden!

Dib, on the phone: Hi, is this the front desk? Yeah, there’s a bed bug in my room and he’s six-foot-one, he’s got red hair.

Zim: Ask them if they have one of those “Do Not Disturb” signs. I’ll put it on the door next time we… do it.

Dib: Okay, I'ma go shower and wash all of the you off of me.

Zim: Oh, maybe together we could—

Dib: NO.

Zim: Just to save water—

Dib: No! You don’t even pay for the water!

Oh hai, did another sketch style tutorial since the first one forever ago, just to see how it would turn out. Sharing pointers on how I draw my ponies now, after the style upgrade. But might try make a more show style accurate version too, at some point, if it has interest.

Learning to draw or attempting to better yourself can be daunting. And the most often given advice is typically “just practice lots” but the other best advice is to always look up refs and tutorials to get an idea what to practice and how. And then just keep trying until you like what sticks. Many artists have many different styles, there is no one way to just master art without an idea what direction you are going for. But gotta start somewhere.

I don't know who needs to hear/read this right now but.... One of the best things in life to do is the opposite of what someone wants and have fun with it. I still write horrible little fan fictions that I won't let anyone read. I write them for me so I have a record of what my brain has deemed canon or wants to see.

Write your stories, not for anyone but yourself, you don't need the recognition or validation of others. Do it for you. Like not just writing anything and everything. If your goal is to be the best you won't have fun.

Just do it for fun and if success finds you in your endeavors that's great. The goal of life isn't success, it's fun and as soon as more people realize that the better the world will be.
