Keeping the streak alive this year for 01/05! Bleach has amazing art, so I still collect all the original volumes even though I stopped reading a long time ago (a series can’t end if I don’t read it, right???) Kubo’s style has made a big impact on me since day 1, and it’s always nice going back and reading Zombie Powder to see his growth as an artist as well.

The sketch in the novel where it shows orihime is talking to rirukia on the phone,,,like wtf??! WHERES YA FRIEND TATSUKI??

So far I have only heard about this sketch/scene. I am yet to actually see it so it’s hard to comment. But needless to say, Tatsuki is wherever she always was - the room full of characters with name plate “Shafted potential”. 

In a way, I am actually happy that nothing in the ending indicates that she is still close to the Kubosaki’s. Yes, she’s hanging out with them but so is everyone else. And the lack of interaction from her in novel only goes to prove it further. She’s one of the characters who is canonically shown to care selflessly for her friends despite acknowledging her frustration on being left out and sidelined by both Ichigo and Ori. I wouldn’t consider it too far fetched that she has moved on to do her own thing and any affection she shows time to time now to her “friends” is because it is simply her nature to care for them, and not because they’re close again.

I think the reason why they made Orihime drop out of college is because they want the readers to feel sorry for her. 'Look guys, this girl didn't achieve even one of her dreams, at least let her have the man of her dreams'. *rolleyes* Like every damn time Kubo wrote most of his characters adoring her for no reason so the readers who hates her will love her too. Why does he keep shoving this fail character onto the readers? I think Orihime is one of the reason why Bleach is beyond saving now.

I don’t know who can feel sorry for something like that in this time and age. You are telling me Ichigo is such a douchebag he has time to knock her up but not pay for her tuition? I know people are also pointing at Ishida, but damn, why should he? What, did Ichigo only want her as a maid? So now others have to come and pay for his wife’s tuition. Not to mention, even that didn’t happen. Or was Orihime just one of those dime a dozen girls whose only goal in life is to get married at 18 and be merry ever after cuz hubby pays all the bills. Yeah, miss me with that giant ball of bullshit, such a lousy aim these collective clusterfuck of authors’ family has. I know a lot of pro ending people were debating and criticizing anti ending people saying “You jump to conclusions!” “As if someone who has goals and job can’t be in the kitchen once a while” Yada yada but look at them talking nonsense from their asses now about “realism” in the novel, since the cards turned completely against them. The hypocrisy in this fandom can’t even be called as such anymore, it is straight up denial. As if they know their only option is white wash over whatever trash is thrown their way to justify the ending. 

Well Orihime (or rather lack of originality and character development) *is* one of the reasons bleach failed, there is nothing to assume there. It’s all there to see in the sales and the rankings. Pretty much every non bleach fan /non shipper recognizes this period as the time bleach fell from its high horse and never did gain its ground again. Despite star casts like Grimmjow, Ulquiorra etc. who were incredibly  popular and the major build up about Aizen taking the main focus of the story, the arc failed to capture readers because it wasn’t original and the whole “Damsel in distress version 2″ was bound to drag bleach to its pitfalls. It wasn’t the only reason, but it was a big reason nonetheless. No matter what kind of symbolism you want to portray, there is simply no excuse justifiable enough to repeat an entire arc with same recipe, and here in bleach, there isn’t even any real or meaningful symbolism in repeating the arc. Not one that majority of fandom would agree on, anyway. It’s just unimaginative writing and a plot that repeats itself into a constant loop.

Bleach as a franchise in today’s time is completely unimaginative, lackluster and ridiculously mediocre. Any good times the manga did show its readers are long since forgotten by majority.

AU in which Ichigo and Rukia are Jeager pilots in Pacific Rim.

drIFT COMPATIBLE. I could imagine that once the Jeagers were perfected, piloting became very competitive and everyone would shun and dislike Ichigo and Rukia since they were top ranking due to their high compatibility. Rukia would always have to keep Ichigo from starting fights with people who said anything negative about or around them because he was pissed people would rather spend time picking on them than ending the apocalypse. Especially anything negative about Rukia because she is one of the first female pilots and got a lot of shit for it. And of course, when they first became partners they hated each other but after drifting; formed a trusted relationship and became very protective of one another~ Head canon: They were the first Jeager pilots to ever successfully defeat a level 4 kaiju. But in the process Rukia got poisoned from getting to exposed to the Kaiju and Ichigo stayed by her side for weeks until she got better.
