rewatched it and this is def correct.

she spells it out herself - she doesn't want to be a jinx anymore. she wants to just be a sister to isha and not 'jinx' everything.

she does absolutely have a deathwish. like on the bridge she does try to blow herself up when defeated, and she very much cares about protecting isha (similar to vi and powder but thats another post) and that combined with her self destructiveness probably compelled her to stay behind.

moral of the story is REWATCH!!! writers normally clarify things for you in little moments you miss the first time lol

when i was a young child, i really loved shows and media that was stereotypically meant for boys. and as for shows stereotypically meant for girls? well, i thought they were boring.

the problem with this was the more i watched, the more i began to get these weird ideas in my head. being a girl was boring. girls could never be as cool as boys. being girly was the worst sin to me, and eventually, i loathed being a girl.

i would bully my younger sister, who at the time was enjoying a pretty average pink and unicorns phase. i called her boring and girly, and felt praised when i was told i was not like other girls.

now ive obviously grown, but ive had a first hand insight into what young boys are taught through the media they have targeted towards them. most of them will be fed the same types of media their entire lives: where they are interesting, cool, funny, and women are portrayed as shallow, badly written, boring accessories for men. most men will never question this, and never have a reason to.

western media helps feed into male violence and entitlement, and i've had first-hand experience of how misogynistic this type of media can make you from a very young age.
