What if I told you a guiding philosophy of mine came from 2006's "Barnyard" of all things?

Big respect to Glitch Studios, but we NEED to show more solidarity with the underdogs out there. There's a whole world of potential out there, but it's not going to take off unless we all lend a collective hand.

Exhibit A, this indie production that took over my entire brain chemistry, courtesy of @starteas:

I better not see anyone saying they “support indie animation!” …and then they’re only talking about Glitch shows (TADC, Murder Drones, GLD). Glitch is indie, but it has also gained so much attention as to have a level of funding, marketing, and resources that most independent shows simply don’t. I’m not saying you shouldn’t support Glitch (genuinely, Glitch is awesome, and I wish so bad that every indie show had the level of sucess they do), but there are so so many indie shows that are going under the radar, because many people don’t look further than the youtube series that already have millions of views.

I’m not saying you’re under obligation to support every little project on youtube, but it’s just that there are so many people who genuinely want to help small teams and independent creatives, but are neglecting projects that need love. It doesn’t have to be “mainstream indie” vs “lesser-known indie” btw— let’s really not make that divide, because indie should be a space for people to support each other and we do not need to tear each other apart. My point here is that we should be supporting ALL indie; the stuff with millions of views per episode and the pilot that only has a few thousand. And if you don’t have the money for that, your support doesn’t have to be through direct funding; on my part, I simply hope to bring more attention to these shows so more people will watch and appreciate them.

Ultimately, my point is that if you really want to support indie, do so before it’s trending.

Flowers of Etrea - Sislo and Tetheril

This here's my B-Day gift for my mutual @rochasaurusrex, in the form of a tribute to one of the best independently-published stories I've had the privilege of reading (and you should be reading it too, the omnibus is available right now). An exciting, heartwarming tale of a lizard-man and a dryad who instantly became GOALS for me, both as a couple and as individual people, all while taking out an evil empire and confronting personal truths together.

Compelling stuff, really.

Either way, Happy B-Day, Rocha! You really made something special, and I can't wait to see what you do next!

Once again, we have another addition to my Godzilla AU! And this time, it's two for one, on account of these guys being totally inseparable!

Varan and Baragon: Living on an island near Australia, Varan and Baragon have been living off the land via a special symbiotic relationship. Though it's safer to say that they're more each other's best friend. When hungry, Varan pursues prey from above via gliding on his massive wings while Baragon cuts off any and all escape routes by burrowing deep below and either popping up out of nowhere or superheating the very earth with his claws and horn. On the flip-side, due to Baragon being a vegetarian and almost completely blind, Varan locates patches of greenery for him, and generally helps him out with seeing.

It is especially notable that these two are the youngest of the documented kaiju living in the Pacific. And sadly for everyone, this is reflected in their personalities. Indeed, Varan and Baragon act less like giant monsters and more like a duo of rowdy kids who like nothing more than to pull tricks and pranks on everything they come across, even bigger kaiju...especially bigger kaiju, actually. Varan is the brains of the operation while Baragon acts as the loyal muscle. However, they'll call it all off if one or the other gets hurt.
