Quackity: *sighs* Who can I start a society with? No, it’s not a society, I’m getting it wrong. I’m getting it so wrong. It’s not a society, it’s diplomacy. What takes a king away from power? What takes a king away from power? It’s the people.
Quackity: In society, we’ve built these structures where we’re meant to follow and almost praise one person in power. And it’s shifted to a point where the people don’t realize, they have power. The people don’t realize it’s them with the power. It’s a land. Dream is the owner of this land. He’s a puppet master. What we don’t realize is that we all have a say in what happens and keeping a say in what happens gives us the power.
Quackity: People are looking at this from the wrong way and, as long as they look at this from- from this, *looks in the direction of L’Manberg* it’s just gonna keep happening. Explosions, deaths, bloodshed.
+++
Do you ever just... do you ever just hear/read something that makes you die a little bit inside? Okay, maybe that's a little extreme lol but it's so wild to me that even Big Q, who has been there since not long after the days of revolution, can interpret L'Manberg so incorrectly.
The way he talks about the people having power? About Dream being the owner of this land but only having power because people let him have it? We know that. And we know that because that was the whole point of the revolution! L'Manberg became corrupt later, sure, but it's initial purpose was fighting against Dream and his supposed tyranny. It's just fascinating that the original purpose of L'Manberg is so skewed in the memories of even the members of the server.

Quackity: Even Mexican L’Manberg. Even El Rapids, probably take a step back for- for some time. Just go. Does it matter anymore? I don’t know if it matters any-
+++
Just a quick quote from another stream I'm currently working on that I found interesting. I find this quote shows another bit of Quackity's character/mindset during the events of Doomsday/leading up to it. He was considering abandoning El Rapids. He's considered abandoning it even before his most recent lore streams.
But when he came back from his long hiatus away from everything he seemed hurt that everyone else had left El Rapids behind as well, even though he was the first to do so. Not to say that El Rapids and the other's didn't mean anything to him, but more like... how can he be mad at the others for something he, himself, started?

Hello there everyone! In between bouts of working on the L'Manberg war transcript I've also started helping the people over at DSMP Transcriptions on twitter with some of their stuff! There's a whole group of us working over there and this is some of what I helped with from yesterday's stream!
This is Fundy's starting monologue from that stream up until he joins a vc with Phil! Pretty interesting as it gives an update as to what Fundy has been dealing with off camera since his last stream and an insight into his current mental state :)

I'm not posting the quotes with them this time around because they are all just slightly different variants of the same phrase, but I find it interesting from a narrative perspective that Eret was the one who, consistently throughout the L'Manberg Independence arc, had the hardest time abandoning their armor within the walls of L'Manberg. In multiple different transcripts you can find them being told to remove their armor, even right up until the actual War for Independence. And, sure, you could excuse that time as them forgetting as they were just being chased across the server, but it's such a consistent problem that it's a very interesting potential character detail as well!

You know, I'm not very far into it yet, but because I know it's gonna take a while to get through this whole thing, I figured I'd just post it now. Lots of juggling voices and perspectives in this one too so that'll be its own challenge but it's never boring :) Don't mind if you see me typing away on there if you decide to check it out haha
I do know that already this war is making me miss the way that wars used to be fought on the server, very unpredictable and where you can actually feel how everyone is giving it their all. Very fun!

Sapnap: Uh.
Purpled: Sapnap, you're the only one that I trust right now.
Sapnap: Yeah, you as well. I've heard that we've had another betrayal.
Purpled: Wilbur's doing his whole Wilbur thing-
Sapnap: Yeah.
Purpled: -where he talks in a funny voice and then he makes us scared.
+++
Somehow these two spend this entire sequence of events with the upper hand against Wilbur and them and also taking more Ls than anyone.
But this just made me laugh with the thought that Wilbur does this often enough, which I mean, we know he does, that people dub it his thing.

Oh boy! Didn't realize this until just now but the next episode is the actual war! And also an hour long, so I'll be working on getting that out but something tells me it's gonna be a bit of a project, so whenever I post the wip link it will probably be a work in progress for a little while haha
But it'll be fun! Even if I'm already dreading how loud it'll be.

Another one down! This one is all done :) This one has a lot of interesting character development from Tommy and lets us see more into how the L'Manbergians want to go about winning the war, their plans and such. It's interesting watching an episode like this with Eret so gungho for L'Manberg while know what's about to happen.
Also, has some more bits from Dream's perspective and those are always interesting.
Here is the Dawn of Independence transcript! Or, at least, half of it as it is a longer episode and therefore still a work in progress :) Might take me a little longer now too simply because the parts I'm working on is juggling the Dream Team as well as Tommy and Tubbo, all of which are very loud and love to talk over each other! Boy do I love crosstalk /s
But anyway, if you're a big fan of Tommy character details this is probably a good read or rewatch, because I've been finding a few pretty interesting one. Have fun!

Dream: Tommy, the embassy has fallen and next is L’Manchildberg. You have until tomorrow.
Tommy: You fucked up.
Dream: I will see you tomorrow, Tommy.
Tommy: You-
Dream: I will see you tomorrow around the same time and, if you have not surrendered to us, L’Manberg will fall. Understand?
+++
You know, this ultimatum here really gives perspective on why the L'Manbergians also had no choice but to fight at the end. Like, we know that they were defending themselves at a certain point, war had been declared on them and the Dream Team's onslaught was pretty brutal all things considered.
But there's also this. This was before canon lives, so death didn't mean anything in the story yet, not really, and so what Dream is saying here is 'Don't surrender and we'll continue to destroy you and your country as we have been' or 'Surrender and we'll peacefully destroy your country, ignoring the fact that we've already destroyed the homes you would have to go back to'. A little bit of bias here, but also watching this episode has not made me very forgiving of the Dream Team during the revolution haha

Dream: If you do not put up white flags-
Tommy: Wait, go from the beginning, Dream.
Dream: -tomorrow.
Tommy: Go from the beginning, Dream. Dream, Dream. Go from the beginning, Dream.
Dream: Okay, Tommy-
Tommy: [mutes] Uh, thank you, for the £3, Yikesxp [unmutes] Sorry, wait, go from the beginning, Dream, I got a donation.
Dream: I’m out.
Tommy: I got-
Dream: I’m leaving. I’m leaving.
Tommy: Sorry, sorry, sorry, fine, fine, fine, continue.
+++
Not really to do with the story except to say, Tommy and Techno are just really on the same wavelength when it comes to messing with Dream while he's trying to be intense huh? I don't have the quotes from when Techno was doing this but it was the first thing to come to my mind when I saw this and I'm still sorta cracking up over it lol

Tommy: What are your thoughts on Tubbo?
Wilbur: Who?
Tommy: Yeah.
Wilbur: Is that the one who’s just nice to everyone?
Tommy: Oh, the clingy one.
Wilbur: I think he’s clay to be molded, Tommyinnit.
Tommy: ...you want to mold Tubbo?
----
Tommy: Walk with me, walk with me. Here’s the thing, Tubbo, people are morons. People are morons and so incredibly easy to just-
Tubbo: Yeah.
Tommy: They’re clay, alright? They’re clay and you can choose how you mold them. Now, they’ve burnt down your house, you’re angry. Here’s the thing, Tubbo! We can kill them but that’s not our first approach. Our first approach, is not to fight them, it’s to let them fight-
Tubbo: It’s to outsmart them!
Tommy: It’s to outsmart them, Tubbo.

Always a fan of parallels on this blog!

With the more frequent streams we're now getting, as well, this is the perfect time for me to go back over old transcripts and work on updating some of the formatting/way I write things to make them more readable and so that they match some of the more current transcripts better. So, keep your eye on those :)

Tommy: How much do I care about this?
Tubbo: We care about this a lot.
Tommy: We care about L’Manberg more than the discs.
Tubbo: We do?
Tommy: So, we can say to Dream, ‘Dream, if you don’t attack tomorrow, I’ll give you one of the discs’. Dream-
Tubbo: Which one? He likes the purple one best. Mellohi.
---
Tommy: Alright. Dream, tomorrow, if you do not attack, I will give you Mellohi. That’s right. The disc.
Tubbo: Wait, the legit one, or the copy?
Tommy: The legit.
Tubbo: Oh my god.
Tommy: Provided you step down from the war and you don’t attack us. Tommyinnit.
+++
You know, probably because I didn't want a ton of Tommy's content until more recently, I never realized quite how hard he tried to stick to the 'words not weapons' rules. How hard him and really all those of L'Manberg tried to end the war without having to fight. I also always thought the disc exchange after losing the duel was a spur of the moment thing, but clearly it was something that Tommy had already considered as an option.
Interesting how Dream was given the chance to acquire one of the discs and all he had to do was give up some land for it and he still choose the war instead.

Tommy: We’re gonna head to Dream’s base and we’re gonna give him an ultimatum. ‘Cause, here’s the thing, do you want to know Wilbur said to me-
Tubbo: What?
Tommy: What Wilbur said, Wilbur said you’ve got to put everything on the line.
Tubbo: Everything on the line.
Tommy: And if there is any form of leverage we can have over Dream, we need to use it, alright?
+++
Man, these are things that Tommy's character really internalized, both during this war, putting everything on the line includes sacrificing his discs for what seems to be the 'greater good' at the time, and past that as well. I think we're seeing this theme again in the plot to come, Tommy throwing everything he has, risking everything, his second chance at life, his chance at peace, just to try and rid the server of Dream.
It's one of those character traits that seems like a good one, but when pushed to excess becomes a flaw as well. I think it's pretty cool to see!

Tommy: Did they take things from your house, Tubbo? Dream and co.?
Tubbo: I don’t think so, no.
Tommy: Really? Well, I see the blocks have been taken. By the fire.
Tubbo: Oh my god. They took it with fire.
Tommy: Exactly! The two rules Dream set for me was ‘no stealing and no griefing’. Now, if you take a look at this, they have griefed your household.
Tubbo: My god.
Tommy: And they have stolen the blocks! So, surely, if he is changing the rules in your household, then we are allowed to change the rules too. ‘Cause we’re on Dream’s server and if Dream’s changed his own rules-
Tubbo: Wait, no, but L’Manberg’s a different server.
Tommy: Exactly, Tubbo, but where is this? Where is your house, Tubbo? What server is this on?
Tubbo: This is on the Dream SMP server.
Tommy: Exactly. Exactly. And if the two rules of the Dream SMP are ‘no stealing and no griefing’, the only two options I could assume-
Tubbo: Is that they’ve been changed.
Tommy: -is that, one, they would've been changed.
Tubbo: So, we can steal and grief.
----
Tommy: I need wood, Tubbo. I need you to get me logs.
Tubbo: What’s this house made out of?
Tommy: You really? You want to do it?
Tubbo: You said it yourself, the rules have changed, clearly.
Tommy: And you’re okay-? Really?
Tubbo: I mean, it’s up to you. You have the decision making power and capacity.
+++
I know it looks like the first quote cuts off weirdly but I promise you he doesn't actually make a second point.
The rules have changed, boys! If Dream believes that all is fair in war, then that goes both ways, at least, according to Tommy.

Tommy: On the Dream Team SMP, war went down. For anyone that isn’t aware, we started L’Manberg, alright? A new city in the Dream SMP for Dream is a fool. He contradicts his own rules, he says no stealing and then he goes and steals from me. He says no griefing, then he ruins the entire-! Look at that! That is Dream! That is Dream!
Tommy: So, here’s what we’re doing today. We’re sick of it, you see, chat? We were sick, so we moved to a new home. L’Manberg, alright? L’Manberg, oh, how it was superior and Dream didn’t like that. The power left his grasp.
+++
I think one of the most interesting things about Tommy is how aware he is of things. Like, he's got Dream's number here, even without having the context from Dream's own stream. He knows how to read a situation, he just tends to pretend that he doesn't.
