When you remember that your best friend is subscribed to your AO3 account and realise they’ve been notified about every story you’ve ever posted, including the Georgian era gay smut and all the fics you wrote for ships you claimed you’d never get into.

I forgot what I set my phone’s display name to until I decided to watch YouTube on my living room TV tonight and it showed me this reminder. My tired uni student brain lagged and for a split second I thought it was some kind of Hazbin S2 marketing 😭😅
(my bedroom TV doesn’t do this so it’s the first time I’ve seen it pop up)

Following up on my rant about trying to find a decent word processor that works across Windows and iOS: Opinions on Scrivener?
A reminder of my non-negotiables:
The program needs to be available on both Windows and iOS, with the ability to sync documents between platforms.
The mobile/iOS version of the app has to be fully functional with all the same features as the Windows version (eg not lack major formatting and editing features like the Docs mobile app does, as I often write entire projects solely on my iPad and don’t like having to switch to my PC just to properly format).
It can’t be overrun with AI features. Some are okay if they can be easily ignored or switched off, but I’d prefer as minimal as possible.
From what I’ve found, Scrivener may be the only program that might tick all those boxes, but seeing as it’ll cost me about $150 AUD for both the licenses I’ll need, I want to do my due diligence and ask around before I commit to it. I’m particularly interested to know if the lack of its own built in cloud system (relying on Dropbox) is ever an issue or a pain, or whether it’s one of those things that sounds like a bigger deal than it actually is. Does anyone have experience with the mobile versions/cross-platform usage? Is it worth the money?
Thank-you!!!

Small rant: Is it really too much to ask for a writing program that’s affordable, not overrun with AI, and easily usable across both desktop and mobile?
Context that may be helpful: I switch between my desktop PC and an iPad when writing, both for my fictional works and university assignments. This is for several reasons, the main ones being the obvious advantage of my iPad being mobile, and that I can sometimes become overstimulated by the noise my PC makes due to my sensory issues. With this in mind, it’s important for me to have a program that can be easily used across different platforms without sacrificing functionality, which is apparently a tall order.
I was happy with Word until a few months ago, despite not being a huge fan of having to pay a subscription for software that should realistically be a one-time purchase, until the Editor feature made it practically impossible to use on mobile unless you’re the sort of person who’s very good at ignoring constant smug little blue lines, which I’m not (I’m not talking about Copilot, which is its own issue but can at least be disabled; the Editor feature is a whole different monstrosity that can’t be turned off). Google Docs is pretty much perfect on desktop, and its AI features are much less invasive and easy to ignore, but its mobile apps are absolutely horrendous, and trying to use the web version on mobile is unfortunately not the perfect loophole I was hoping for (it’s possible, but pretty clunky, and just not great for long sessions). Pages is everything I could ever want, works across both my phone and iPad (with the added bonus of neither of the models I have supporting Apple’s new AI capabilities), but relies on an iCloud subscription if you want to store a serious amount of files, and is only available on Apple devices, meaning I can’t use it on my Windows PC at all. I was using the iPad exclusively for a while when my fics were my only writing projects, but it’s just not sustainable for uni, as my PC is much better suited to researching and hosts the programs I need for other aspects of my degree.
I’m now in a rather hilarious position where I have stories littered across all three of these programs depending on which device I was using and what mood I was in when I wrote them, and it’s starting to get on my nerves. I’ve tried asking for suggestions from other writers, but most of the ones I’ve been given unfortunately don’t support mobile use, which just isn’t something I can compromise on. If anyone knows of some kind of unicorn program that I’ve somehow missed, I’ll be forever in your debt. Otherwise, please keep me in your thoughts as I scream into my pillow at night after spending half an hour trying to figure out which app I used to write the one-shot I started six months ago. Seriously, I’m still looking.

Update twenty minutes later omfg I flipped further in my journal and I already planned out the next chapter!!!
Finally picking back up a WIP I “briefly” stopped updating over six months ago, and, god, thank goodness past me wrote down where I was going with this. I genuinely didn’t realise how long it’s been since I worked on it, and all the details I had planned would be completely lost if it wasn’t for my uncharacteristically smart decision to actually use my writing journal. Now, to actually write the next chapter…

I just wanted to take a second to thank everyone who replied and reblogged. Reading all of your theories and crack ideas did genuinely help, and I can honestly say that I’m in a little bit of a better place two weeks later than when I wrote this post. Much love ❤️
Hey, where are my Hazbin fans at?
I’m not usually one to post things like this, but I’ve been having an incredibly tough time with my mental health for the past few months, and I’m having a particularly rough patch at the moment. I would love it if you could drop your favourite lighthearted headcanons/theories in the replies or reblogs. I don’t care if they’re realistic or complete crack theories, I could really just use something to smile at right now. Bonus points if they focus on something completely inconsequential that you’ve thought out way too much, those are my favourite ones. I’ll kick it off with one of my own that was inspired when I read the wiki a few months ago; Alastor, despite not liking most sweet foods, likes pineapple on pizza purely because he found out it’s the single most divisive food in modern culture, and naturally decided he must enjoy it out of spite.
I’m hoping to get back to my writing in the next few days ❤️

This shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone who’s actually interacted with me or paid attention to my content, but to make it abundantly clear for those at the back: if you support the LGB but not the TQ+, and especially if you are LGB but don’t support the TQ+, you are not and never will be welcome on this blog. I have no patience or grace for those who are delusional enough to believe that gay rights would be where they are today without the trans activists of the past, or those who believe that others owe them precise labels in order to be valid, or those who refuse to acknowledge the broad and beautiful spectrum of aro-ace identities. The message at the heart of pride is and has always been “all for one and one for all,” and I refuse to entertain those who think they get to pick and choose.

Look, I don't like Valentino by any stretch of the imagination, but his expression right here kills me every time.

Nah because when I read all those posts saying “Someone you know could be LGBTQ! Someone you know could have a reproductive condition! Someone you know could be autistic! Someone you know could have ADHD! Someone you know could have a mental illness!” I didn’t realise that all the someones were me 😭

New Work (RadioApple)
Oops, forgot to share this one here 😅
Human by erraticprocrastinator
Words: 2187
Relationships: Alastor/Lucifer
Summary:
Lucifer had learned to expect a lot of things when returning home to the hotel. He’d learned to expect Husk behind the bar, regardless of the hour, either with a drink in hand or passed out against the counter. He’d learned to expect Angel Dust half-naked or worse in the lobby, moaning and groaning about whatever atrocity Valentino had put him through that day whilst combing unspeakable things out of his fur. He’d learned to expect Charlie’s unrelenting enthusiasm, greeting him each time he returned as though she hadn’t seen him in decades.
What he hadn’t learned to expect, what he never would have expected, was to find Alastor on his knees, head in hands, crying.
When Lucifer happens upon Alastor in his most vulnerable moment, it comes time for a turning point in their relationship.
