Happy pride month, here is a transgender anomalocaris if anyone wants it 🏳️‍⚧️

It was real annoying to make the body two different colors, so I probably won’t be making any more of these, but it is priced the same as the solid-colored one.

I have thoughts about the prophecy that I haven’t heard anyone else bring up

Spoilers for chapters 3 and 4 below

We are all familiar with how Undertale and Deltarune take aspects of video games that are normally ignored via suspension of disbelief, and makes them diagetic to the story: saving/loading and your control over the player character. I believe that the prophecy in Deltarune also fulfills a similar role, representing the nature of storytelling as a whole.

In a video game you are always limited by the code. Even in something like Undertale with multiple endings, there is only a narrow few paths you are able to take. In real life every single action you take is a decision and you have an almost infinite array of possibilities of things to say and do. No matter how hard it might try, a video game will never reach that amount of freedom.

That is what the prophecy is, it’s the story itself, and why Deltarune will only have one ending. One of the first things that this games makes abundantly clear to you is that your choices don’t matter. Again and again, this has to be important for the overarching story it’s trying to tell. Even with the Weird route, even with the secret bosses. No matter what you do or how hard you try, you cannot change how it ends. No one can. And judging by chapter 4, that ending is not happy. Another layer of control, not just over Kris this time, but over their entire reality.

I also think that the dark worlds being sort of not real parallels fiction. A character in a video game is not real in the same way you or me are, but they undeniably exist in some capacity. Our relationship to these characters has similarities to the relationship between lightners and darkners.

This is just my interpretation and I could be totally off the mark here, but it makes a lot of sense to me.

Acorn weevils are now UP for sale!

Yellow will have limited restocks due to fabric availability.

I’ve been wanting to make an acorn weevil since I just started making plushies over a year ago now.

The colors were by far the hardest part for me, part of why I ended up giving two options. There was also a lot of consideration on whether to make the legs the same color as the body or not. It would be more accurate, but I ultimately favored the visual separation of the brown legs.

God, this thing took over my entire day. It’s far from perfect, I might touch up the paint job later, but I do actually want to to other things today.

I knew the Bigtop Burger hyperfixation was going to get resurrected the moment a new episode released, but I did not anticipate that manifesting in making an entire sculpture in basically one sitting.

Megalosaurus (1850s) and Megalosaurus (modern) polymer clay sculptures

The Megalosaurus was the first dinosaur to ever be named, we’ve known about it almost as long as paleontology has existed. Despite this, however, it is still quite poorly known with how few fossils of it that have been found. Both reconstructions are based heavily around educated guesses, though with about seven more decades worth of research under their belt, modern paleontologists have a much better idea of Megalosaurus’ stance and size.

I made these as homework. For a writing class. I’m glad I didn’t have to give them to my professor, I became very endeared to them in the process of creating them. My Crystal Pal <3

Hercules Beetle Plushes! The cyan one is a prototype, green one is the final! I am planing on selling some of these next summer along with the anomolocaris.

I’m very happy with how these guys turned out. I sized them specifically so you could hold them like burger. They also have weighted beads in the body.

I’m planning on trying to sell some of these guys once I get out of school for the summer, so I’m working on the patterns for them. I’ll probably go with the head of the middle one, but the body and tail of the right one.

Plush #7: Zoe the Anomalacaris!

I did skip #6 because I’m numbering them in the order I made them, not the order I’m posting them. I wasn’t very happy with how the last one turned out, but I will probably still post it at some point.

Anyways rip Anomalacaris, you were too good for this world. I did this one beanie baby style so the whole body is just filled with weighted beads.

Obviously it’s this isn’t super scientifically accurate for many reasons, but I wanted to simplify it as much as I could while still coming across as an Anomalacaris.

Plush #5: Don Wada from Taiko no Tatsujin

I was originally gonna make Katsu Wada too, but this guy was surprisingly time consuming to make for being pretty simple, so I just have Don for now.

I didn’t realize that fleece had a right side so all his legs have the wrong side of the fabric showing. Whoops.

Heavy rains recently bent the milkweed plants I normally photograph my plushes in front of over :(
