Aggressive Love
Clarisse La Rue x fem!reader
Clarisse has never been very good at showing her affection to her crushes, so when one day she crosses the line she starts to realize she needs to confess to a couple of things.
Warnings: None, boring plot
A/N - TAKING CHARACTER X READER REQUESTS!!!
Tumblr media
Not long after you arrive at camp you meet the Ares girl. Clarisse La Rue was not ashamed to make her name known, but the way she did it did not sit well with you.
Luke was walking you around showing you the ropes and trying to find your special thing, when she walked by.
“Seems like you got yourself a new girl” Clarisse spoke with her arms crossed, stepping in front of the two of you with her siblings by her side.
“Be nice she’s new” Luke spoke up and the girl rolled her eyes.
For someone big on first introductions, Clarisse was not cutting it for you. Her attitude made you scrunch up your face in annoyance and that did not go unnoticed by anyone.
Clarisse simply looked you up and down before walking away “She is not someone you want to get in a fight with” Luke spoke pushing you along.
As the week passed you found yourself getting along alright. The Hermes cabin fits you well, even though it technically isn’t your cabin. And everyone seemed to like you.
Except for Clarisse.
Multiple people asked her why she hated you, and truthfully she didn’t even know why. You never even talked to her, but that face you gave her said it all (or at least that is what she kept telling herself)
You are quiet, often found walking around, practicing archery, or helping your friends. You were not disrupting people’s peace, or getting into fights and starting arguments, like her.
She told herself that the reason she didn’t like you was because of how you two are the complete opposites, and that she had a feeling being together would only end badly.
So to make herself feel even better, she started getting into small arguments with you, just to prove to others and herself that she was right.
The first time she did it, it was at the lake. She saw you sitting there alone, no one else around, and took the opportunity to approach you.
She had a scowl on her face as she stood in front of you, blocking your view.
“Having fun?” She asked, which only made you raise your gaze and shrug your shoulders “Yeah I guess why?”
She scoffed, quickly thinking of a lie “Luke has been looking for you all over, he needed your help and you let him down. I was right about you.” She mumbled the last part, shaking her head and looking off.
Hearing this, you became worried, not wanting to upset Luke anymore you got up and ran to find him.
When you did he looked at you with a confused look, and you only then found out it was all a lie.
The next couple of days, Clarisse would follow you around, throw things at you, and start small brawls which you would never really even participate in.
Then finally one day you had enough.
She had followed you into the woods, calling you names and once again bringing up the fact your godly parent hadn’t claimed you.
You finally stopped and looked at her “Why do you hate me?” You asked in a fed-up voice which caught her a bit off guard.
In any other argument you always sounded sarcastic, or like you were having fun with it. But this time she noticed that you genuinely seemed upset. Maybe it’s because she crossed a line, bringing up your godly parents.
“Answer me.” Your gentle voice got her attention once more and her mouth opened but quickly shut.
“I have done nothing to you and yet you hate me every day.” Clarisse furrowed her brows looking down at the ground.
A feeling of regret started in her stomach, and she watched as you walked off.
For the next week, she thought to herself, what she should do, or if she should even do anything.
Finally, she decided to go to Luke.
When she sat next to him and asked for his help, he let out a soft laugh, leaning back with his arms crossed. But then he noticed how serious she was, she didn't have a scowl on her face, or any sign of annoyance, just a straight expression.
“She hates me”
“Do you blame her?” Luke spoke, picking at his food and shoveling it in his mouth. Clarisse only frowned and looked as though she was about to leave. “If you aren't going to help me then I'm just gonna leave.”
“Sit down” he mumbled and she did.
“Why do you only now want to become her friend?” Luke asked with curiosity, his curly hair falling into his eyes and he stirred his peas around on his plate.
“I don't know,” Clarisse answered, her voice sounding softer than it usually does. “You like her don't you.” He spoke up as he turned his gaze to her. Clarisse seemed startled by what he was saying, maybe she did like her, and was just … afraid of what the others would say.
Luke didn't need an answer to know he was right. 2 years ago something just like this happened with her and a girl in the Hermes cabin, except Clarisse never did anything and the girl continued to think that she hated her.
“If I were you, I'd maybe start by apologizing to the girl and giving her something she likes,” Luke stated as he started to stand up from the table. “Like what?” Clarisse mumbled, her reaction time a bit slow, which was strange for the Ares girl.
“She told me she likes flowers, maybe go pick some.”
Clarisse hated flowers.
“Okay”
That night Clarisse got one of the Demeter kids to give her some flowers, and she marched over to your cabin.
She knew that each clear night you always sat outside, so seeing you sitting on the steps to your cabin was no surprise.
Except the boy next to you was.
She faltered for a moment, feeling even dorkier than before, her arms dropped to her side, the flowers slouching slightly.
But she kept going, “Scram” she shouted at the boy with a scowl on her face. The boy sighed stood up and mumbled “Night Y/n”
Clarisse took a moment to stare at you, how the moonlight made you so beautiful.
Then she locked in and stuck out the flowers for you. “Here” she spoke again with that same scowl on her face, you nervously reached up to grab the flowers and gave her a small smile “Thanks … but why”
Clarisse sat down next to you, at first your legs touched but she quickly moved over. “Because I've been a dick.” she sighed and looked over at you.
She memorized how pretty you looked in her head.
You let out a soft laugh and nodded your head “That's true … I’m surprised you are owning up to it.”
“Don't get used to it” she chuckled, which made you turn to look at her.
“A little birdie helped me realize something.” she spoke again after a moment of silence “Was it Luke?” you asked and she nodded her head “How do you know?”
“Because if anyone else tried to help you realize something they'd end up in the infirmary and everyone in camp would know,” you responded with a smile.
Clarisse nodded her head, gently biting onto her lip trying to suppress her smile. “Yeah I guess you’re right about that.” her head dipped down slightly as she looked at her hands.
“Luke helped me realize how much of an idiot I was.”
You smiled as you looked up from the flowers you had been trawling around in your hands. You hummed slightly and nodded your head in agreement to which she rolled her eyes and clicked her tongue.
“I like you.” she mumbled finally, “Do you?” she hummed in response, and for a moment you swear you could see a faint blush on her face. “I've been told I'm an aggressive lover, I guess to some people it might be hard to know it’s affection I'm trying to show and not …”
“Hatred? Yeah, it would've probably been best to clarify that before throwing toilet paper at me.” You laughed softly which caused her to show more of a blush.
After a few seconds you nudged her shoulder “You’re lucky you're so pretty … or maybe I wouldn’t forgive you.”
She looked up at you with a small smile, your legs were touching slightly, but the two of you did not seem to care.
A piece of her hair fell in front of her face, and you were quick to brush it away.
If it was anyone else touching her, Clarisse was sure they'd already be dead, not only that she was sure that her father was probably groaning at how sappy they were behaving, but she couldn't care at the moment.
You kept your gaze connected with hers, and it didn't take long for Clarisse to act on her desires and kiss you softly.
A/N - y'all I don't know what I just wrote, and I know I didn't represent our girl right!!

rating mxtx novels based on…. FANDOM-O-DRAMA-METER!
(This was my experience first entering every fandom hehe although as always, there are exceptions 😉)
MDZS: 4/10 the plot is just so centered around wangxian and there are few side characters for people to argue about, it also requires a certain level of media literacy to appreciate, leaving the only real argument material on whether characters deserved their suffering or not (Lan Xichen & Jin guangyao) *Clears throat* ANYWAY
TGCF is a solid 8/10, you’d think it would have the least toxic fan base, considering it is the only one rated 13+ and has the most characters. You’d be wrong! oh my goodness gracious why are there 13 people in a room brawling over this rare pair?! Cute ar—OH MY GOD MY EYES 😨 JAJSSHJSHSD, the chillest people in this fandom are the cute plushie cute character crowd, and those are in every fandom [I love u tgcf but man, your fans are like xz and ny temples at the lantern ceremony…. Devoted to competing]
Svsss is a 3/10 and I know what you’re thinking, “but op, everyone either hates or adores svsss!! They have so many haters” and you’d be right, but I have one thing to say. Svsss enjoyers have mastered the art of never prolonging altercations, crowd from outside goes “what is this trash?!” And they answer “ ok sy have a nice trip! 👋🤭” and nobody inside the fandom shames eachother’s ship or other choices because they know, anyone who enjoys svsss is a FREAK, complete freak, and nobody wants to get dunked on first. it would be like kinkshaming at a bdsm club LMAO
(All three will in fact send you to the hospital if you say anything bad about their main ship though, but mostly tgcf… DEAD ON SIGHT8
(If you are lucky….)

just imagine game night at chb
ares is the god of games. do you know how competitive his children are? ellis wakefield almost slit cecil's throat when cecil implied that monopoly was just a game.
speaking of cecil, do you know how often he cheats? so much. so so much. he keeps monopoly money in his pockets at all times just in case.
most of the hermes kids do. alice and julia were banned from-- well from all games. partner games because they insisted on partnering with each other and then whenever they lose they would beat each other up, and single player games because they would team up until they were the last two left and then would ignore the board game and fight each other. will has a separate stack of infimary records for julia and alice game related incidents.
travis teaches the new kids how to cheat. he doesn't care to play himself he just enjoys teaching people how to cheat. how does he know all the cheats?
drew tanaka memorized all the cards from literally every trivia game they have. all of them. even the most obscure. she's not allowed to play trivia anymore.
travis still has the scar from the last time clarisse and annabeth played uno against each other. they were all 8.
lou ellen manipulates the mist to win. she's not good at art but goddamn if her pictionary drawings aren't VERY well done.
clarisse and chris are VERY competitive. silena and charles aren't. somehow, clarisse and beckendorf always end up a team. so do chris and silena. yeah that always ends well.
actually clarisse in general. she's banned from playing against annabeth (who is also banned from quite a few people herself), michael (again, digs his own grave), all of the hunters of artemis (when she began losing at monopoly she kicked the board off the table and started a brawl between fifteen people. phoebe's hair hasn't looked the same since)
connor refuses to cheat on any game but thinks it's the hottest thing ever when malcolm cheats.
speaking of which, malcolm cheats "badly" like half the time. he makes it obvious most of the time and then when he really wants to win you find out he's actually very good at monopoly cheating. you'll never know he's cheating.
whenever will bluffs he starts giggling. cecil banned him from poker for being an "affront to the very sport". yes, cecil thinks poker is a sport.
thalia and percy played monopoly together three days after she was un-tree-ified. the tree nymphs in that area of the woods are still scared of demigods.
and just what are they playing to win? just ask katie gardner-- or travis stoll. their weed and smuggling business is through the roof.

the wonder of you
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: luke castellan x daughter of Ares!reader
word count: 5.9k
warnings: none :)
summary: capture the flag is a big deal to you, too bad luke keeps trying to distract you.
_
There’s a scent of fear and something stronger in the air when you step foot onto the field, your armor clad body already sweaty under the sweltering summer sun. Everyone is mingling, talking amongst their teams though the snippets of conversation you caught were about anything but Capture the Flag.
Army….monsters….Kronos
There was something else on everyone's minds these past couple of weeks, the lingering anxiety over a war that was supposedly brewing unbeknownst to anyone in Camp Half Blood and Mount Olympus. The oracle had given a cryptic prophecy, though the exact words were lost within the translations from story to story depending on the camper you asked.
Some of the Hermes children had heard that there was a host body that was slowly resurrecting the titan king himself, slowly gathering bits and pieces of bodies in order to resurrect his body. Mr. D was quick to shut that rumor down, threatening the next person who spread another rumor with a month’s worth of chores.
Other children of Apollo theorized that the oracle was not speaking of a war but another sibling rivalry between the gods, the kind that had Zeus throwing tantrums in the form of thunderstorms and Poseidon flooding cities out of pure pettiness. The only son of Poseidon was also quick to shut that idea down, claiming his own dreamless nights as proof that the gods were fine and didn’t need help.
Regardless of who you asked, the unspoken worries were evident - a war among the gods was brewing. A shiver went down your spine at the mere thought of fighting a war with these campers - most of them too young to even drive yet but not young enough to wield a sword, to kill and die for a taste of glory.
A horn sounded and both teams roared in response, clanking their weapons against their shields in response to the horn. Beside you, Clarisse clanged her spear against the ground, the familiar crackling of electricity stemming from the tip. A gift from your father, the god of War, though lately his true colors had been showing.
Ares had been silent these past couple of months, hiding away from the prayers and pleas of his children for Gods know what. It wasn’t unlike him to be absent in his children’s lives but this type of silence was worrying, especially for the god who loved to taunt. The Aphrodite cabin had the same trouble, and the only common theory both cabins could come up with was that Ares and Aprodite were swindling together.
But days turned to weeks and when the weeks turned to months, both cabins suspected there was something more sinister happening. Ares was never at the forefront of a battlefield, but he was always present when a fight was happening. And if he wasn’t showing up for the brawls within Camp Half Blood, you could only guess what bigger fight your father was preparing for in Mount Olympus.
The sound of Chiron’s monotonous voice pulled you out of your worried thoughts. It was the same as every year, with him repeating the rules of Capture the Flag and putting emphasis on the no maiming rule with a pointed glare. Your team murmured in response, unhappy with the calling out of who was responsible for last year’s punishment. Though it was partially your fault for targeting the new kid from the Apollo cabin, Chiron’s rules were the last thing on your mind.
You’ve been having vivid dreams for the past couple of days - dreams that felt so real you were unsure if you were living through them or not. No one knew of them, not even Chiron or Mr. D. You weren’t sure why you were hiding these dreams from everyone, perhaps in fear of what exactly your dreams entailed or in fear of what will happen after they’re revealed.
A battlefield stood before you, barren yet the wind that blew past you sounded eerily like the clanging of swords against shields. If you listened closely, you could hear commands being shouted in ancient greek. The ground was stained with the blood of men who were born and died long before Camp Half Blood was founded - when wild men and beasts fought on the same land.
The land before you came alive, the ground soaking with blood as the sound of shattering bones and groans of agony echoed throughout the space. Somewhere above you a vulture circled the air, hissing in warning. Everything within you was warning you of something - a monster of some sort, maybe from the depth of Tartarus.
Bones rattled around you, bodies with missing bones and parts forming into a legion. Skulls found a spine which found femurs and humeruses. One by one, soldiers stood in formation until an army of the undead was complete. A soldier clad in armor stood before you, armor polished and muscled body - a general of some sorts or maybe someone higher in command.
Primal fear coursed through your body as he glowered down at you, shadows casting over his face. You knew who he was, what this person was capable of doing. Scars littered this body, deep slashes and shallow cuts adorning along the arms and legs of the soldier but the face was completely clean - as if no one could come close.
The lord of bloodshed, the curse of mortals incarnate, the god of war - Ares.
You kneeled before your father, bowing your head slightly to the ground in greeting. He barely glanced in your direction, an acknowledgement and dismissal. ``You’re not ready,” he said gruffly, smoke puffing out of his mouth. You scrunched your nose in distaste at the cloud of smoke, the smell of burnt cigarettes lingering in the air.
Ares was never much of a talker, more of a man that spoke with fists and blood than words. Violence was his specialty, as it was with you and Clarisse and all of your half blooded siblings. But still, the bluntness of his words never ceased to have you stewing in a bad mood for the next few days and you found that you’ve inherited his harsh way with words.
“You’ve ignored me for so long, what make you think I’ll listen to your opinion of my readiness?” You scoffed, a little too boldly for your father’s liking. You stayed on your knees, though you raised your gaze to the god of war. His jaw clenched and his hand curled into a fist at the disrespect, but he didn’t strike.
Ares ignored your question, hardened eyes gazing past you. His focus was somewhere else, analyzing the battlefield with the gaze of an experienced general. Centuries of war and bloodshed flashed through his face - regret, anger, pain flickering in his eyes.
You’ve never seen your father experience such emotions in a short amount of time. He was always hot headed, with a clenched jaw and sharp tongue that often got himself in more trouble than he could handle. But he was never remorseful, never apologized for what he said or did or hurt.
“I know when my soldiers are ready,” he said, voice laced with the sternness of a general. You tried to mask your face with a mask of boredom, though his words stung. Soldiers, not children. Even after being claimed you could never get your father’s approval, not even after all this time.
Still, you were your father’s daughter - you’re stubborn and hot headed and brash. Backing away from fights was not your strong suit, so you stood up on your own accord and straightened your back. “I’m ready,” you said confidently, maybe too confidently for someone who loses sleep over nightmares.
Ares barely gave you a passing glance, a half scoff escaping his lips. More smoke filled the air and burned your lungs, but you didn’t complain. Ares didn’t like whiny losers.  “You’re weak - worthless,” he grunted, the grip on his spear tightening. The muscles in his arms bulged at the slightest movement, and it took every part of you to avoid staring at the deep gashes along his biceps. “Not even close to reaching your potential.”
You scowled at his words, at the cold bluntness in his tone. Never in your life had someone speak to you that way, with such little interest.  “I’m not sure I’m following…” you said, daring to glance away from your father. The vulture at his feet stared at you, its beady eyes staring deep into your soul and very being.
“The greatest warriors didn’t need an extra push from their parents to be as great as they are now,” Ares  said gruffly, . The soldiers behind him didn’t even budge from their positions, unfazed of the dispute before them. Maybe their physical forms were present but they needed directions in order to move, as if they were nothing more than puppets for your father to use as he pleased.
You shifted your weight from one foot to the other. You didn’t like how Ares was speaking to you, like you were benched for your lack of participation. Sure, you haven’t gone on an extreme quest to gain greatness in a while but you’ve been beating your own record at target practice with all the weapons available.
“Achilles was training under Chiron before he fought in the Trojan War,” you pointed out. You remembered Chiron’s bedtime stories to the younger campers, of all the heroes he’d trained centuries ago. The Athena cabin had hosted a trivia night a couple months ago, and the Ares cabin had gotten a decent amount of points in the Ancient Battlegrounds and Armory topics.
Ares rolled his eyes at the mention of the Greek hero. It was clear his grudge against the Greek army still hadn’t faded away even after all these years. “And then he refused to challenge Hector because he was too cowardly to fight,” he added snarkily, disgust evident on his face.
You searched your brain for more heroes, more stories that had victory in some sort of way. Death, failure, cursed forever, there weren’t many, and you hated your ancestry for that. “Didn’t Heracules have multiple trainers?” you crossed your arms. You had also recalled the countless stories of Greek heroes Chiron had drilled into your heads.
Ares clicked his tongue, as if he suddenly remembered the name. You are sure that he didn’t even remember your name, though you tried not to think negatively about the deity before you. “Ah, was that before or after he slaughtered his family and cowardly ran away from his actions,” he tilted his head, glaring down at you with the same beady eyes as the vulture. He shared the same wild look in his eyes, the patience to wait for death to strike his prey.
A shiver ran down your spine, though you held his stare. You wondered if he could sense the confusion and hesitation within you,or if he counted it as fear. If they both made an adrenaline course through your veins, did it really matter?
Did this conversation even matter? Slight annoyance surged through you, at this useless dream your father decided to join. He’d been silent for so long only to come back and talk about how worthless you are. “Why are you telling me this? What’s the point?” you asked, exhaustion evident in your tone. You supposed having a war of attrition with the god of war wouldn’t go well on your part. A small part of you knew that your father thought the same.
For once, Ares didn’t scoff or roll his eyes at your question. He seemed surprised at your question, as evident by the slight raise of an eyebrow. Maybe he wasn’t used to being questioned, or maybe he expected more of a fight from you. “Every hero has a weakness. It’s inevitable.” he said sternly.
You faltered. Was that what this was all about? Weakness? A small pang of hurt echoed in your chest - did Ares think you were that weak? Was he so concerned about your mortality that he had to warn you to be extra safe?
“I don’t have a weakness,” you huffed, crossing your arms stubbornly. You prided yourself in handing out more punches than receiving them, especially when sibling rivalry peaks during competitive seasons. “Achilles had his heel and pride, Heracules was a coward, Jason was unloyal. But I’m not like them - I’m better-”
“You’re not,” Ares interrupted, his spear crackling with power. You stared at the sheer power your father held, even in his mortal form he still exuded raw power and authority. If this much power made your body tremble, you could only imagine how Zeus was. “But I don’t want you to be exploited,” he said.
You faltered at his words. Ares cared, in his sick and twisted way, about you. He didn’t want his own kin to share the same fate as the reckless heroes from the past, not when he has greater expectations. Something like pride swelled within you - the same pride that killed Achilles. “I won’t let anyone close enough to exploit my weakness.”
“Keep it that way,” Ares nodded in what seemed like approval. You wondered if he would ever utter the words I’m proud of you in his lifetime, or if this was as close as you would get. You didn’t bother asking, not wanting to push your luck with your father.
With a click of its beak, the vulture took to the sky, circling you from above. Ares turned his attention to the army of dead soldiers and gave them a salute. The soldiers saluted back and turned to their heels, slowly walking back into the very dirt that had buried them for centuries.
The smell of smoke and burning flesh burned your nose and lungs, but you could still sense Ares somewhere. He wasn’t gone yet but he was leaving, just like that. Panic swarmed your head, he couldn’t leave not when he’s been missing for weeks now. “Wait! Don’t go!” You called out, taking a step forward. Your foot stayed stuck in the dirt, keeping you in place as you struggled to walk towards the god of war. “Please! Don’t leave!”
The desperation in your voice must’ve been evident because Ares turned around, giving you an almost sympathetic look. It looked equally as intimidating as his war face, canines on display and wild eyes staring right at you. Perhaps it wasn’t a look of sympathy but of mercy, the kind you give to a soldier choking on their own blood on the battlefield before ending his misery.
“I’ll be back when you win,” Ares promised. His spear crackled once more in response before he disappeared completely, leaving nothing but giant footprints in his place.
A hand on your shoulder snapped you out of your thoughts, and you jumped at the sudden attention. Beside you was your half sister Clairesse, her shirt sleeves rolled up to her shoulders to prominently display her tanned arms. Her muscles flexed with each movement, her casual movements turned into threatening actions.
“You ready?” Clairesse asked, her eyes practically glittening with excitement. She had also had some dreams, though hers were more promising. Apparently Clairesse had seen your father and promised him victory for today’s game. Ares gave her no response, but the determined look in your sister’s eyes gave you confidence for today’s game.
You nodded, schooling your face into a look of confidence despite the sweat that slipped down your face. Gods, you hated the heat more than the miserable cold that winter always brought. You tried not to think about Ares’ words to you - when you win. Another giant weight on your shoulders, as if this wasn’t enough. “Did Dad give you any sign this morning?” you asked, glancing over at your team.
There seemed to be more campers this year than any other - a sign that Chrion took as the Gods accepting more of their children into their lives. While some demigods were excited to be claimed, others were weary of the sudden change of heart of the once negligent Olympians. You didn’t complain, though. The Ares cabin had been thriving with the influx of newly claimed siblings and as a result, your team seemed bigger than it was last year.
Clairesse shifted her weight from one foot to another, the only hint of nervousness she’d show. You took her silence as a no and moved your attention to your armor, double checking each strap and handle to avoid the awkwardness of the conversation.
The children of Ares were never good with their words, preferring to show their emotions through physical means regardless of how lighthearted the emotions really were. It was as much as a gift as it was a curse, and you could only blame your cowardly father for granting you emotional instability as part of your heritage.
Your armor was strapped tight, hanging onto your body as the worn leather burned in the sunlight. It was centuries old, scratches and slight holes denting through the front layer, though you doubted you’d need the protection. The center of your leather plated chestpiece spray painted red, as if your team’s intimidating aura wasn’t enough to indicate which side you were on.
Across from you was the opposing team, their leather armor marked in blue as they stood in perfect formation. They were always the more organized team between you two, thanks to their team leaders that kept everyone in shape just for this moment. Amongst the crowd of young campers, you could spot Luke standing front and center, flanked by Annabeth Chase of the Athena cabin.
You could see the girl point to her temple, giving Luke a knowing smile and nod of approval at something he had said. Your heart fluttered at the sight of Luke in his armor, his helmet barely covering his face that you knew had a determined look. He always took Capture the Flag as seriously as any other child of Ares and Athena, always determined to prove himself again and again as the best swordsman and maybe something more.
As if sensing your stare, Luke glanced over Annabeth’s shoulder, a small smile creeping onto his face as he caught your gaze. You flushed at his gaze but blamed the heat. Luke was more of a headache to you than a friend, though he was one of the older campers that was more similar in age to you than anyone else.
You smiled back at Luke, cracking your knuckles in response and pointing at Luke in case he didn’t get the hint.  Luke chuckled, his helmet shaking slightly at your threat. A sense of pride filled your chest at making Luke break the character of the serious camp counselor of the Hermes cabin, a feat only few could claim as a success.
As usual, the Aphrodite cabin was in charge of leading the opponents frontline men away from the flag, taking them as far as they could before raising suspicion. Those who could charmspeak or change appearances were spread out within your ranks while the others followed their head camper’s lead towards your fake flag.
Your cabin, the Ares cabin, was on the front lines, as always. Armed with magic weapons and a madness that could only happen during the heat of battle, the children of Ares were always theIf anyone could get past the Athenan and Hermes children. The brutes of Cabin 5, you called yourselves with pride.
Clarisse glanced over at you, smirking at you as everyone got into position. Her spear crackled with electricity, the prominent tip glowing in warning and promise of pain. “Don’t get cold feet now,” she teased, her voice full of confidence. Her eyes seemed to glow with excitement, the mere thought of knocking down campers without repercussion always gave the children of Ares more of a reason to look forward to this event - this time even more so.
Today was a big deal, both to the reigning champs of the previous years and the reigning losers of your team. Today, you’d turn the tide, claiming victory over capturing the flag for the first time in three years. Your cabin needed to win, you needed to win. The Ares cabin needed to prove themselves worthy of your father’s attention once more after that embarrassing loss the year before to the huntresses of Artemis.
You remembered the way your father ignored every prayer and offering sent to him, how the Ares Cabin became the laughing stock of camp once your siblings started to lose at even the most basic camp games. Capture the Flag, sparring exercises, even sharpening your weapons seemed to be a harder task than usual.
You knew your role, it was the same one as last year and the year before that - find Luke and prevent him from advancing. It was easier said than done - children of Hermes were always the first to race across the map, quick and nimble on their feet. And you knew Luke would lead his group towards your side of the forest, using his winged shoes to give him the advantage of speed.
The sound of a horn sounded for a second time - the final warning before the game would start- and you sucked in a small breath as you heard the distant rumbling of your siblings and teammates racing to their positions. While Clarisse and the rest of the more aggressive demigods cut a clear path to the blue team’s site, you’d take a detour towards Luke’s site and keep him distracted until your team claimed victory.
Easier said than done.
Without a second to spare, you sprinted towards Luke’s direction, following him into the entrance of the forest. He was already way ahead of you, zig zagging through the trees and brush as you ran behind him, laughing mockingly at your speed. The fluttering of his winged shoes trailed ahead, almost a distant sound until you could catch up - another rub in your face at your slowness.
Luke’s red Converse was the only thing you could spot, a red blur that left you constantly looking around. Gods, he was fast. One second he was straight ahead then he was cutting left through the lake, his voice echoing from one side of the forest to the other.
You huffed at Luke’s speed but continued forward, your feet carrying you as fast as you could go towards the red shoes. Your armor bounced against your body, clashing against your own sword as you gained speed towards the bright red just up ahead.
Right as you approached the lake, you frowned. There was silence, an eerie emptiness surrounding you as if there was no one around. You held your breath, waiting for the flapping of the winged shoes to appear for you to follow once more, but the only other sound that accompanied you was the water gently crashing upon the shore. It was as if Luke was never there, the sand and rocks beneath your feet undisturbed save for your footprints.
A branch snapped somewhere behind you and you whirled around, sword in hand as you scanned your surroundings. There was no way Luke led you to a separate area, an alternate plan to the one your team had created. You grit your teeth in annoyance, blaming Annabeth Chase for thinking of a way to counter your plan.
Another branch snapped on your left and you turned around again, your sword humming to life at your growing annoyance. This couldn’t be Luke, he wasn’t the type to stalk and hide his opponents. Whoever this was, they were treating you like prey, as if you were the lesser one in this fight. If you couldn’t get a hit on this person, your heating sword would at least throw this person off your trail for a bit.
The next thing you knew, you were tackled to the ground, rolling into the lake with the attacker. Their arms wrapped around your back, holding you tightly against their body as you thrashed against their hold, cursing in Greek with every breath you could get out. You exchanged a series of punches and kicks with your attacker, both of you hitting the hard ground with each tumble you took until you finally landed into the water.
With a grunt, you lunged at the person, revenge the only thing on your mind. You toppled over the person, gripping their neck and giving it a threatening squeeze with all your strength. You didn’t care much for the rules, not when this punk - whoever they were - decided to embarrass you during your hunt.
“If I knew this was how you’d react to getting tripped, I would’ve done it sooner,” the culprit crooned, and you sneered at the amused tone of their voice. This had to be one of the Stoll brothers, you’d know that annoying tone anywhere. With no gentleness, you tugged their helmet off, not caring that your nails were basically scratching at their face. It’d be the least of their worries once you’re done with them.
Instead of meeting the gaze of one of the annoying Stoll brothers, you stared at Luke Castellan - your biggest headache in all of Camp Half Blood. With a scowl, you tossed Luke’s helmet at his face, ignoring the way your heart pounded wildly at his carefree smirk as he caught his helmet with one hand.
Gods, if he were some other camper they would’ve gotten a beating from you just for talking to you like that. But Luke? He was the exception, always. You don’t know when he started to be the only person you could tolerate, maybe it was when he first beat you at the sword fighting arena, maybe it was when you landed a blow to his face the first time you fought and he laughed at the bruise that formed days later.
All you did know is that he was just another person that annoyed you and maybe even a friend.
“Don’t think you’re off the hook for that move, Castellan.” you warned, letting your hands drop to your side as you rose from the water. He only gave you a roll of his eyes and grinned at your words, as if he knew that he’d always be off the hook when it came to you. Without another word, you searched for your sword, hands searching along the shore at your feet for your blade.
Besides your quick temper, the only other gift you had gotten from your father was a sword that grew hot with your mood. It was efficient when you were in a bad mood, which hardly happened when you were teasing Luke during the games. He was your weakness, and a small part of you hated yourself for having one in the beginning.
The greatest heroes never had weaknesses, you told yourself. You reminded yourself of your conversation with Ares -  Achilles, Hercules, Jason. They were arrogant and disrespected the gods. You were better than that, better than all of them combined. You had to be.
“All’s fair in love and war, right?” He smirked as he rose from the water, carefully wringing the water from his soaking curls. His armor and clothes clung to his body, giving you the exact shape of his arms, his chest, his everything. You bit the inside of your cheek from saying stupid and turned your attention to your missing sword.
It must’ve fallen from your grip while you were tumbling along the shore, humming somewhere beneath your feet. You felt the warmth of your blade and let out a small sigh of relief when you finally retrieved it, your blade slowly cooling with your mood. You’d have to clean it once you got back to your cabin, you thought more to yourself as you shook some of the water off of your sword. Maybe the Hephestus cabin can help with that, you thought bitterly.
“Too bad I don’t love you then,” you replied smoothly, wringing the water out of your hair. You tried to ignore the soaking feeling of your clothes sticking to your body and the added weight to your armor. Love was such a strong word, the most similar to your most commonly said word hate. Was all truly fair in love and war, even after everything your own father had gone through for the goddess of love?
Luke stayed silent, as if he didn’t have a response for once. You both let the drip, drip, drip of the water fall from your clothes, filling the silence. For once, you didn’t mind the quiet. There was something comforting in it, like you both didn’t need to say anything in order to keep each other company.
“You realize we’re the only ones here because our teams are trying to get us together, right?” Luke said, hands on his hips as he wrung the water out of his own clothes. You tried to ignore how close his shirt was to his torso, clingy desperately onto his toned chest and arms. Luke’s own cheeks flushed, whether from the fall or your attention you didn't know, but you didn’t comment on it.
You shrugged, huffing out a disbelieving laugh. You’d suspected that your teammates were up to something when they started to push for you to take a path on your own instead of leading your own unit like usual. But when Clarisse brought up that you wouldn’t need the campers to find Luke, you agreed. It seemed like a good point at the time but looking back, you could definitely see why she was so pushy to get you to go on a separate route where only Luke would be.
“What are you trying to say?” You asked, raising a brow at Luke. You busied yourself with the straps of your armor, checking the already tied straps for imaginary tears and rips along the fabric. Your hands shook at his words, at the implication of what he’s saying, at what your teams are plotting for both of you.
There was no way Luke caught onto this plan before you, not when he’s busy tending to claimed and unclaimed children most of the day. Not when he’s the first person to rise in the morning and the last to go to bed, going as far as to wish you goodnight while you finish your nightly workout. Not when his spot is always beside yours during the campfire sing-a-long and volunteers to be your partner during sparring lessons.
There was just no way, you told yourself. Luke is a headache, and nothing more.
As if he was reading your thoughts, Luke gave you a knowing look and you rolled your eyes at him. He was so annoying, with his stupid smirk and disarming laugh, but a small part of you didn’t mind that it was always directed towards you.
“Do I need to spell it out for you?” he asked with a huff, cheeks reddened at your obliviousness - or was that from the heat? The more you teased and talked to Luke the more the lines blurred between you two. Did friends always make your heart skip a beat, especially when they made eye contact with you?
You shrugged, not trusting your own voice to carry an air of nonchalant when you didn’t even feel relaxed. The last thing you needed was to give Luke another reason to poke fun at you until you turned red.
“Go out with me,” he said softly, eyes full of hope. His teasing tone was gone, even his smirk was completely wiped. For a moment, you saw Luke’s true feelings, his mask wiped from his face for once - completely vulnerable and utterly smitten for a daughter of Ares.
You hummed in response, your own heart pounding wildly at his words. Was this what you wanted to hear after months of pining and teasing, of lingering glances and touches? You knew the answer, you knew what you wanted to say so badly.
But the game came first, you needed this win before you could do anything else in your life. There’d be no point in trying to live your life if Ares didn’t acknowledge you again. “Go out with me, what?” you asked, desperately trying to stall for time. Your team should’ve gotten the flag already, so why are they taking so long to come back?
“Please,” he breathed out, wasting no time by playing along. Your heart skipped a beat at his willingness to ask so softly and sweetly. Luke was too good for you, always the first one to lend a hand and the last one to ask for something in return.
You didn’t know how to phrase the words I’d like to. Everything within you was made to destroy, crafted with bloodied knuckles and never ending bruises. You were not sweet by any means, hardly like the smooth talking Aphrodite cabin or the eloquently spoken Apollo cabin. You were everything everyone hated about Ares, more fluent in violence than anything else.
But if Ares could find solace in the laughter loving goddess even if his scarred hands were harsher than her softened ones, you supposed you could find solace in Luke Castellan too.
Somewhere in the distance, people screamed in victory and a horn sounded. The thundering sound of weapons clanking against shields came closer and closer. Among the trees, you could spot a blue flag held up high as surrounding campers cheered and barked in celebration. Your team had gotten the flag - the Ares cabin had redeemed themselves once more.
A small smile tugged at your lips as you watched your half siblings celebrate in victory. Among the already forming crowd was Clarisse, electric spear in the air as she let out a war cry. The campers with red painted armor followed her cry and raised their own weapons in the air, the sound of dozens of demigods yelling out echoing throughout the forest.
“Ask me that tomorrow,” you said softly, fixing your gaze back to Luke. The softness in his features were replaced with confusion, his brows furrowing and a small frown tugging at his lips instead of his smile. It took almost all of your willpower not to laugh at the sudden change of his expression.
“Tomorrow?” he sighed in disbelief, defeat in his eyes at your statement. You nodded, amused at his deflated look. He looked so small like this, his personality completely different from the carefree and easy going guy that strolls through camp. It didn’t suit him, you wanted him to smile again, to give you that love stricken face you mistakenly took for teasing. “Don’t play with me, just answer the question.”
“I believe you’ll be busy with kitchen duty tonight,” you said with a smile, nodding towards your team. Clairesse was still waving the stolen flag in the air with the echoes of cheers surrounding her. Right behind your team, Annabeth looked defeated, rubbing at her face as she talked to Percy Jackson about who knows what. The son of Poseidon glanced over at you and Luke and gave you a thumbs up, as if he were also part of this plan. You didn’t doubt it.  “So ask me again tomorrow.”
Luke smiled at your statement, newfound hope gleaming in his eyes as you made your way to your siblings. They roared in excitement, lifting the flag and some hitting their helmets against yours in celebration.
You laughed for the first time in a long while, a new sense of freeing happiness and excitement washing over you. There was something new in the air, at least between Luke and you, and it was a four lettered word that started with the letter L.

Family Matters (part three)
Tumblr media
Sami Zayn x Reader, The Usos (The Bloodline) x sister!Reader
part one | part two
A/N: Nothing serious happens in this part, maybe a kiss or two. Also Kevin is the bad guy in this, please know I love that dramatic asshole.
Summary: She fell first, he fell harder. Alternatively: moments in your family’s story where you fell in love with the Honorary Uce, Sami Zayn.
It wasn’t until War Games that the world saw you and Sami again. In private, the two of you spent as much time together as possible. Date nights in your hotels, backstage hangouts, sitting together on the plane. Your family weren’t very happy about it, naturally they felt he was taking you away.
War Games was going to change all of that though. Sami was supporting The Bloodline against his best friend Kevin Owens. The world made it seem like he still couldn’t be trusted not to turn his back, especially when Kevin cornered him backstage on Smackdown the night prior.
Sami came to you that night in the hotel, he just needed the reassurance that your family had faith in him. You couldn’t be fully honest with him. You felt your brothers, really just Jey, might never fully trust him in the ring. Even Roman seemed hesitant to back your partner.
But you hoped they finally trusted his word before the match started. You had to watch from backstage, sweating profusely and icing a welt you received during your Smackdown title defense match. You just had to hope and pray nothing went seriously wrong.
Roman sending Jey in first was smart, he had great stamina, but Jey wasn’t 100%, and their opponents had the advantage. You were worried about that decision. Jey was the Right Hand Man, but he wouldn’t last long with Roman sacrificing him like this.
Your heart soared when Sami was sent in next for The Bloodline. Roman trusted him to take care of your brother. He was taking his time, but your brother seemed to gain his breath back, the Brawling Brutes distracted by your partner.
The fight was finally fair, at least for the next few minutes. You just needed Jey to stop being a dick to Sami long enough to survive. Their bickering wasn’t helping anything.
Despite how scrappy the fight was already becoming, they were working well together, protecting each other, well Sami was protecting Jey at least.
Drew McIntyre was on his way to the cage. His hatred for your family could not be understated. It was him and Kevin you were most worried about in this match.
Your heart leapt into your throat as Drew tossed Sami across the ring, then targeted your brother who looked to be in serious strife.
They fought back and laid their enemies out long enough for Jimmy to bring a few tables into the ring. Then Jey argued with Sami again. Despite Jimmy’s attempts to break it up, your brother was determined to piss you off.
Jimmy and Sami at least made for a strong team, taking the Brutes out systematically before they gained the advantage again.
Then the moment you were dreading all night, Kevin was pulling chairs into the ring with him.
You couldn’t watch, Kevin taking your brothers and your partner out viciously. Only when it was time for Solo to enter the ring did you check in again.
Listening to Cole and Graves’ commentary was harrowing enough. Your brothers and Sami were being destroyed. At least Solo would be just as vicious in his ‘enforcer’ role.
It brought you no joy to watch your little brother wreck shop, of course you were proud of the work he’d put in to reach this point, and you knew he was doing it to protect the family, but there were multiple men in that ring that wanted to destroy them.
You were honestly a little worried about your baby brother being the only 100% healthy fighter for your family. When Sheamus’ pale self climbed the ropes with Solo on his shoulders, and Roman approached the cage, your heart was racing so fast, the nurse who checked the welt on your shoulder was worried you would pass out.
The opening bell finally rang and you chewed the skin around your thumb. Old habits die hard in the face of your family being brutalised.
Things looked particularly dicey when Kevin and Sami had their face off.
Kevin had your cousin pinned.
It was over for your family.
The referee laid on the mat, his arm lifting to count.
Sami grabbed his arm, preventing the count from starting.
Kevin, not hearing the numbers, looked over his shoulder. Sami met his eyes. Your heart sank.
“Please, Sami, you know what to do.” You whispered to yourself.
Jimmy went in for the superkick, Kevin stopped him, and Sami dealt a low blow.
Kevin was in absolute agony. Everyone else was laid out. Your partner seemed conflicted.
He made eye contact with Jey, then delivered the Kick to his now former best friend. He then laid him down as an offering to your brother. Jey covered Kevin and the match was won.
You jumped up and down in celebration as Roman, Jimmy, Solo embraced Sami as a member of the family. Then Jey lifted Sami in a hug and your smile began to hurt your cheeks.
Your most stubborn brother had finally accepted your partner. And you could not have been happier.
The Wiseman collected you from the medical office, carrying your cousin’s belts. “The Tribal Chief would appreciate you being out there to celebrate with them.”
You hugged him as best as you could with the belts in the way, kissing him on his bald head. You took off down the ramp, listening to the cheers from the crowd as your partner Sami stepped out of the cage to join you.
He picked you up in a hug and you pointed over his shoulder at your family, letting them know you would come to them next.
The crowd began to chant, “KISS! KISS! KISS! KISS!” at you and Sami. He set you down gently and gave you a nonchalant shrug, though you could see the nerves on his face.
You rested your hands on either side of his face and pulled him in for a passionate kiss.
Tumblr media
The fallout was huge, it became one of the most viral moments of the year online, and while your intention was never the attention you received, it made life much easier for you both to not have to hide yourselves backstage, or even when you left.
You could walk out, wrapped in your boyfriend(!)’s hoodie and no one would bat an eye. Not even Jey, who finally gave you the blessing you were after. Backstage when everything was said and done, your family all embraced each other for the first time as a group of six. And your heart was full.
Now it was time for your debut as a couple on RAW. Also, it was Sami’s time to shine as an official member of The Bloodline.
Your brothers stepped out first, Jimmy and Jey with their titles over their shoulders. Solo was next. Then you and Sami. Sami was jumping around, high fiving everyone, doing his best as always to hype you all up. You wore your title belt around your waist, your shoulder still tender.
The crowd was insane, you saw signs dedicated to your family, even to you.
You also saw one near the front which was just a giant print of yours and Sami’s kiss. You laughed when you saw it and asked for them to bring it forward. You showed it to the camera, then borrowed a pen to sign it, letting Sami sign it too.
Your brothers were already in the ring, waiting for you. Your giant puppy of a boyfriend took off, sitting on the middle rope to give you an easier entrance. You pet his cheek on the way through as thanks then stood next to the twins.
Jimmy kicked it off, “The Bloodline is now in your city!”
You all raised your ones to the sky, watching as the crowd joined too. Jey took over the mic.
“On Saturday, we went to war at War Games, right? You watched my sister win the hardest match of her career. You watched us in one of the worst matches we’ve been through in our career. But you see us standing tall right?”
As the crowd roared, Jimmy turned to Sami, “Yeah but someone back there real mad huh Sami?” He put some heavy emphasis on the name, “Kevin Owens. He’s mad cause Sami’s no longer his dawg!”
Sami and Jimmy did their silly handshake and you nudged Jey in the ribs as he tried to hide his smile. Jimmy let Sami take the mic, and he spoke about the turmoil he and Jey had gone through over six months. “I know that most of the time you didn’t trust me, or even like me. But the way you accepted me into this family, embraced me at the War Games, that was Ucey.”
Goddamnit Sami. That was so sweet and he just had to add the “Ucey”. But he stuck his hand out.
Jey knocked his hand out of the way and hugged him instead. They pulled Jimmy in. Then they teased Solo into a hug, finally the playfulness you had missed in your family was back.
Things changed as Kevin Owens’ theme burst their bubble. You sighed deeply as Sami shouted at him to stop. “Before you do something stupid like come out here and fight me-”
“No, no, no, that’s not why I’m out here at all.” He ignored the loud boos to continue, “I’m out here to tell you Sami, that I totally get it. I understand why you did what you did on Saturday. You’ve got the hot new girlfriend, you wanna impress the family. I mean let’s be honest, how many times have I turned on you in our careers? So I’m not mad at you. But after Saturday, man, I don’t wanna fight with you, I don’t want to team with you, I don’t want to ride to shows together. I’m just… done.”
You could sense Sami was hurt, so you stood next to him, hand on his back in support. Kevin’s gaze shifted to you and you found yourself a little anxious. That look was normally directed at your cousin. It was almost murderous.
Sami spoke up, “You know what, that’s fine pal, cause guess what? I feel exactly the same way. I’m okay if I’m never in the same room as you ever again, do you understand me? Because I don’t need you anymore. I have family now.” He gestured to your brothers.
“I’m genuinely happy for you, because now the world can finally see just how great Sami Zayn is. I’ve known it for 20 years. But, Sami, here’s the thing, it doesn’t matter how many times she tells you, they tell you, you’re a part of The Bloodline and it doesn’t matter how many times you call them “family”, remember this. You’re not their real blood and you never will be.”
You felt your cheeks boil with anger, and as Sami lifted the mic, you stole Jimmy’s, “No, let me handle this. I think Kevin’s just mad cause he has no one around him. No friends, no family, no one.”
Jey stepped forward, “Yeah, if you got a problem with my boy, then you got a problem with Jey Uso. It’s on me.”
“It’s on you?” Kevin laughed mockingly, “Well I’ll leave Sami “Uso” alone, but not Jey Uso. Let’s meet back up in the ring later tonight and see what happens. And you, princess, you can act tough but we’ll see just how tough you are. Hold tight to that belt.”
Those words scared you, you weren’t sure what he was scheming up in his brain, but whatever it was, you were ready. Your family was ready.
As Kevin stormed off, you turned to Sami. He shook his head, reassuring you there was nothing to worry about. You hugged him as your brothers hyped Jey up.
For now, you and your boyfriend were together, and the whole WWE universe knew it.

2024 art summary!
Just putting some thoughts on my art journey this year under the cut 🧡
Comic stuff I'm actually surprised I had so many non-Brawl pieces to put in this year, as it's been my only real art project in 2024. I've been pretty consistent with keeping up with the comic and met my goal of finishing the first chapter (Stage One) this year with time to spare. I got to some pretty fun scenes that have lived in my head for a couple of years at this point and I really enjoyed drawing them. I've been finding it easier to draw the comic as the year went on; working on Brawl! has really improved my drawing speed and gesture drawing most of all.
Neopets I've been back on neopets this year! It's been fun interacting with the np reddit community and I've been really enjoying drawing fun little neopet design ideas. Neopets is what got me into drawing as a kid and it's been great to experience that kind of childish joy again.
Games I've been experiencing a lot of great games ever since I joined forces with my gamer bf (they play, I watch lmao) and making games and interactive content at my day job has really made me want to bring one of my own game ideas to life! All I've done is character sketches and brief outlines so far, so watch this space lmao.
Writing I'm still working slowly on the extended universe that Seaglass takes place in! The next book will be more of Randy's perspective, but it's early days. I always do character art, even though it's a novel, it helps me to build a personality for the character and gives me a visual cue to return to when I'm stumped. Fletcher's design/'look' is always something I've struggled with but I think I hit a real breakthrough with him in July - look at him! I'm also going to start posting my writing to wattpad.
Final thots - Although this summary wheel looks a little bland compared to previous years (lots of white space, fewer intricate stand-alone illustrations) I can see how far I've come style and speed-wise. And I had a looooot of fun.

Journey to the West Chapter 58
Tumblr media
In this chapter of Journey to the West with @journeythroughjourneytothewest Sun Wukong faces off against his shadow self. So let's get into it shall we?
So Sandy and Monkey head off together towards Flower Fruit Mountain, with Monkey traveling much slower then his usual pace to keep pace with Sandy who is still suspicious of him. However Sandy's suspicions of Monkey are slightly allayed when they get there and find that there is indeed another Sun Wukong. Monkey takes the presence of this clone just as well as Sandy took it early- which is to say that he attacks the clone on sight.
The two are evenly matched, and even if Sandy wanted to try and get in the middle of that to try and give the real Wukong a leg up, he no longer knows which one the real one is. After watching the fight for a while, Sandy decides to make himself useful by trying to find their stuff, however he's unable to find where the false Wukong stashed them. Eventually Monkey calls out to Sandy to just go report back to Tripitaka, while he battles his way over to Guanyin's place so that she can help tell them apart. So Sandy head's back to Tripitaka, while Monkey, and fake Monkey heads for Guanyin.
The two Monkey's continue brawling in Guanyin's front yard, while one of her servants go to alert Guayin to the situation. When she comes out the two Monkey's give her a rundown of the situation, and ask her to tell them apart. So Guanyin has them separate from each other and has two of her servants grab them both while she recites the tight fillet spell. However when Guanyin starts reciting the spell they both act like they are in unbearable pain and beg her to stop, which she does. Now out of idea's, Guanyin tells them to go up to heaven so they can their problem instead of hers.
So Monkey and fake Monkey fight their way up to heaven, and once they've disturbed the peace enough to garner an audience, the two Sun Wukong's once again explain the situation and ask for an audience with the Jade Emperor, once it becomes clear that none of the gathered gods can tell the two apart either. The gods figure that they don't want to get in the middle of... whatever this is, and make way so the two of them can brawl their way to the Jade Emperor. The Jade Emperor isn't to happy about the two Sun Wukong's brawling in his palace, but since I doubt he wants beef with either of them, he just summons Prince Nezha's father, who brings with him an imp-reflecting mirror. They both stand before the mirror, however even in the reflection they can not be distinguished from each other. Since the Jade Emperor gave it his best shot and failed, it's time to pass the buck once again- this time they're going to go and bother Tirpitaka.
Meanwhile, Sandy has caught back up with Pigsy and Tripitaka and is giving them a run down of the situation. Tripitaka feels bad about accusing Monkey of something he didn't do, but apparently he doesn't feel to badly about, since once the two Monkey's crash down to earth, he has no problem whipping out the tight fillet spell to see if that will help. Which it of course doesn't. Although in his defense I guess he doesn't know that Guanyin already tried that. Anyways, as flattering as it is that they actually thought Tripitaka might be useful in this situation, it is once again time for them to become someone else's problem. Permanently if Tripitaka has anything to say about it, since although he knows about the clone now, that doesn't change the fact that the real Sun Wukong is the one who killed those bandit earlier. So Tripitaka is still mad at him and currently has no plans on taking him back on as a disciple.
That's a problem for later however. For now the two Monkey's decide to take their fight to the underworld to see if the Ten Kings have any insight into this situation. Tripitaka meanwhile tells Sandy that he should go back to Flower Fruit Mountain and check behind the waterfall for their stuff while the two Monkey's are preoccupied. Pigsy however volunteers to go in Sandy's place since he's been behind the waterfall before and will probably have better luck finding it.
Meanwhile the two Monkey's have made their way to the underworld. Some of the spirits manage to alert the Ten Kings about this issue, and the two Monkey's explain the current plot to them. Now knowing the situation the Kings bring forth the registry to see if it can help, unfortunately it's not very useful, partly because this is the very same registry Wukong himself vandalized about four immoralities ago. However unlike the last three groups they asked for for help, these guys actually have a plan B. They call forward a beast called 'Investigative Hearing' who has the ability to perceive true from false. And this beast actually does manage to learn the name of the imposter, but he can't reveal it here. For the imposter is actually as powerful as the real Sun Wukong, and would probably wreak havoc here in retaliation if they reveal him.
So instead the beast suggests that they take this problem up with the Buddha himself, since he'll likely both be able to tell them apart and actually do something about it. Both Monkey's agree to this new course of action and continue their fight to the Western Heaven, where Buddha is currently giving a lecture on why being of one mind is important. The Monkey's arrive just in time for the Buddha to point them out as examples of what happens if you are of two minds instead. Once again the two Monkey's settle down long enough to give the Buddha the recap episode of the last few chapters. And while none of Buddha's cohort's can tell the difference between the two, the Buddha can, and just as he's about to reveal it Guanyin arrives for this surprise lecture from her teacher.
Buddha asks Guanyin if she can tell the difference between the two Monkey's, and Guanyin confesses that she can not, and has come here to ask if Buddha can enlighten them on the situation. Buddha goes on to say that despite everyone's vast power and knowledge, none of them know everything. As they know, there are five kinds of immortals; the celestial, the earthbound, the divine, the human and the ghostly. And there are also five kinds of creatures; the short-haired, the scaly, the hairy, the winged, and the crawling. This imposter however does not fall into any of those ten categories. Instead he is one of four special primates that do not belong to any of these ten species.
The first special monkey is the intelligent stone monkey, aka Sun Wukong himself. Who knows transformations, recognizes the seasons discerns the advantages of earth and is able to alter the course of planets and stars. Next we have the red-buttocked baboon, who has knowledge of yin and yang, understands human affairs, is adept in it's daily life, and is able to avoid death and lengthen it's life. Then there's the third one, the bare-armed gibbon, who can seize the sun and moon, shorten a thousand mountains, distinguish the auspicious from the inauspicious and manipulate planets and stars. And finally we have the six-eared macaque who has a sensitive ear, discernment of fundamental principles, knowledge of past and future, and comprehension of all things.
Therefore the Buddha deduces that the imposter must be the six-eared macaque. Knowing that he's been made, the macaque tries to make a run for it, but Buddha's cohorts have him quickly surrounded. And when the macaque tries to shapeshift into a bee to slip past them, the Buddha traps him under and alms bowl. The macaque then reveals his true form, and Wukong immediately kills him. The Buddha isn't to happy about this, but Wukong explains that he was a criminal that assaulted and robbed his master, and would have been executed under the court of law anyways.
And I guess Buddha is willing to accept this logic, since instead of scolding him further he just tells him to go back to Tripitaka. Monkey however explains that Tripitaka doesn't want him anymore, and instead asks that the Buddha remove the fillet so he can just go home instead. Buddha however just says he'll send Guanyin with him to make sure that Tripitaka takes him back. So Guanyin and Wukong head back to where Tripitaka and Sandy are waiting. Guanyin explains about the six-eared macaque and tells Tripitaka to take Wukong back on as a disciple since he won't be able to reach the west without his protection. Tripitaka agree's and thanks Guanyin, meanwhile Pigsy arrives just in time to explain the other half of the situation. He's got their stuff back, and killed the imposter Tripitaka and Pigsy, who were just normal monkey's while he was at it. Which honestly, I'm surprised that Wukong wasn't upset about, those are his people after, and they were kind of forced to go along with all of this by the Macaque. Anyways, now that the story is completely wrapped up, Guanyin takes her leave, and together once again, the pilgrims continue on their Journey to the West.

can u span more on the courtney joins team escope idea?? im really interested!
Okay, so full warning this idea was inspired by think pink from grease: the rise of the pink ladies. I highly recommend listening to the song. I'm just saying that if they had to sing, that would 100% be the song.
Also, warning for mentions of underaged drinking.
So, to me at least, each member of team E-scope can offer something to Courtney with their friendship, especially post cheating arc. And this isn't just all three of them being against cheating and generally not caring about other people's opinions.
Eva wouldn't judge her for her anger or emotions on the situation, in fact she'd probably help her with them. Like going and wrecking stuff. Whatever it is, she wouldn't shame Courtney for acting like a human being. Then there's the fact that they're both competitive, they'd definitely both do bets and dares with each other.
Neha isn't afraid of speaking her mind. Or of Duncan. She would very much verbally massacre him to his face and she and Courtney both have the whole brainy thing going on. And then there's the fact that she's already friends with crazy people so when Courtney shows her more intense side, Neha's just going to accept that she has another crazy.
And Izzy? Izzy would get her to unwind, to have fun without needing to be competitive. Put her in situations where she can just let loose and doesn't need to think about Duncan or Gwen. She gets Courtney to see that she doesn't need to be in charge and maintain order- sometimes a little chaos is necessary.
Just imagine, Courtney, Izzy and Eva getting into friendly brawls with each other. Courtney, Izzy and Neha plotting schemes with each other. Courtney, Eva and Neha teaming up to destroy someone. The four of them teaming up to pull pranks on people. They'd definitely wage war on Chef and Chris. Since Izzy keeps trying to fight Chef and Courtney has a grudge against Chris. Neha and Eva would definitely be up to it, no questions.
Courtney thinking she and Neha are the more rational of the group only for it to turn out that Neha is just an enabler and Izzy barely needs to convince Courtney to join in on their shenanigans.
The four of them sneaking out of the hotel in Hawaii to explore and cause chaos like visiting a festival or going to a bar with fake IDs, or getting their hair dyed or getting matching pink leather jackets that they customise or doing all of them before the finale.
Like, it's after Duncan's elimination and Gwen is trying to get Courtney to forgive her in front of everyone, practically peer pressuring her.
But she won't stop, and she hasn't stopped since Courtney was eliminated and it doesn't help that everyone else is telling her just to forgive her already.
Even Bridgette who she thought was her friend. And when they think she's not in earshot, she can hear Gwen complaining about how she didn't do anything wrong and Courtney is being unreasonable for not forgiving her for 'a mistake'. A mistake. And they all comfort Gwen as if she's the victim and Courtney is in the wrong.
Either way, Gwen's doing it again and it's in front of everyone. Not just the usual suspects. But this time, this time Duncan chipped in, telling her she just had a stick up her butt and was just being petty and stupid for no reason.
And Courtney wants to snap at them, wants to yell that they're the ones being stupid. But they'll all look at her and treat her like she's insane or a bomb ready to explode again and she might actually cry if they do because it's been non-stop and she doesn't want to cry in front of everybody and-
Then 'Noah' comes to her defense, snapping at Duncan and insulting everyone else in the same breath.
As predicted, Duncan doesn't take this well, grabbing the front of 'Noah's' shirt and threatening him. But then Eva gets involved and punches him, getting Noah out of his grasp in the same move and standing between them. Then Izzy is grabbing her arm and taking her away from the situation and calling for the other two who follow and what is going on.
So she gets adopted into the group, learns Neha is a girl, Eva is kinder than she looks and Izzy is actually a fun person.
And they go on their first girl night, sneaking out to see some kind of festival. Then, Izzy gets an amazing idea and gets them all fake ID's.
The night before the finale they go out again but this time they go drinking. The night ends up with them crashing on Izzy's bed, each of them with a pink strand of hair, customised jackets and the room littered with drinks they bought but didn't drink.
They're all hungover when they come to, hungover and have to go through another day of filming so Izzy has another amazing idea, how can they be hungover if they're drunk?
The finale... With a twist
Yeah, they show up drunk, not that anyone notices at first. Courtney goes to sit on Alejandro's side, subsequently bringing the other girls with her.
Then, when it comes to volunteers, Courtney does and sees that Cody volunteered for Heather which gave her an amazing idea.
Just imagine how funny the sight would be.... drunk Courtney convinces Chris to let the helpers be team E-scope for Alejandro and the drama brothers for Heather. To prove who the superior group is and Chris agrees.
It turns into a brawl with 4 very drunk teens going against the drama bros.
Courtney goes for Harold, still harvesting a very big grudge from season one. They're full on wrestling and Courtney is clearly winning.
Eva has Trent in a headlock and is cackling like a madwoman while Trent tries -and fails- to escape.
Izzy is just playing with Cody. Pouncing on him, pinning him down then letting him go, only to repeat the process over and over and over again. Like a game of cat and mouse.
Then Justin takes his top off to save his brother's in arms, effectively stunning the three.
Only for Neha to come out of nowhere and tackle him. Then she's got him pinned down and is stuffing her wig in his mouth ranting on about pretty boys needing to shut up.
.... The potential chaos.
And Chris? Chris immediately clicks on to what happened, what is happening. It isn't very hard considering the minor dent in his personal bank account recently. But it's funny and teens beating each other up make quality television.
So in conclusion, I believe that adding Courtney to team E-scope would not only cause so much more chaos, but would also give Courtney a friend group of girls who would not kiss her boyfriend and restore peace to the TD universe.
If it was during competition then they would become everybody else's problem.
Wjnsjsosnwnsiajwjsjsnsjdjsjajkssj
The four of them forming a band for the sole purpose of getting more views than the drama brother's hit song out of nothing but pure s p i t e.

Could you please write HCs of a Ares son x Hecate daughter couple . I just think they'd be so powerful together
A/N: I’m not too good with romance but I’ll try to do my best! Will be using He/Him for the Son of Ares, She/Her for the Daughter of Hecate. Hope you enjoy it and have a nice day!
A son of a War God and a daughter of a Witch Goddess? That sounds like the beginnings of an epic story-telling where their love together is going to be a prelude to something bigger in the future.
Paladin/Barbarian/Fighter and Sorcerer/Warlock/Wizard Pair anyone?
They are a terrifying couple to be seen together on the battlefield because can you imagine, you have the son of Ares charging straight into battle, facing his opponent and keeping them occupied, but right behind them his girlfriend is the daughter of Hecate who you thought was just support, is there chanting a long spell and then you realize, “Oh no, the son of Ares was the distraction and the actual threat is the Daughter of Hecate”. Sometimes they’re a bit much during Capture the Flag and even when their teams are separated, you can hear the Son of Ares cheering his girlfriend for that epic spell she cast, and the Daughter of Hecate cheering at the sight of the Son of Ares barreling into their own team.
I can only imagine that the son of Ares would constantly ask his girlfriend if she can do so and so, and how it would be if she could make him be on fire but not be burnt by it, or something like that, and she does humour him from time to time.
I can only imagine the daughter of Hecate going to her boyfriend to try out a spell and whenever a spell goes wrong, the son of Ares is there to either pull her out or clean up the mess. Like getting rid of a massive army of gremlins she accidentally summoned.
The son of Ares always carries the charms and protections that the daughter of Hecate gives him, accepting the blessings she gives him- whether he needs it or not- mostly to put ease to the daughter of Hecate’s mind.
It is a real threat if someone tries to seduce her boyfriend, and the son of Ares always backs away fast because he still remembers when his girlfriend turned a daughter of Aphrodite into a weasel for looking at him with googly eyes.
They both provide each other with stimulation, mentally and physically with their presences and strengths, self-assured that their weaknesses are covered by the other.
A lot of showing each other and showing what their talents are to each other and they each provide advice and insights on the others skills. The daughter of Hecate showing off spells and talking about what their latest project and research is in, and the Son of Ares talking about battle strategies and techniques- there are some overlap, how the son of Ares teaches how the daughter of Hecate hold a knife better to get the most accurate cuts to make their potions better, and the daughter of Hecate teaches him to believe in himself and being self-assured because magic comes from within and everyone has it, but they’re all different.
Although they are the son of a war god, and a daughter of the Witch Goddess, they are also normal individuals who fell in love with each other for other reasons. Maybe how the Son of Ares seemed gentle as he helped her carry her things, showing that he wasn’t just all brawl with no heart, how the daughter of Hecate seemed to care for him and helped heal the son of Ares when he got injured and fussed over him because she cared.

And they were girls together
Masterlist Clarisse La Rue x Aphrodite reader (platonic) Summary: News gets to the reader about someone's crush., Clarisse wants to hear none of it. Warning: biblically ( book) accurate Clarisse, no use of y/n author note: English is not my first language so I am sorry for any mistakes beforehand. Proofread by me and me only (T▽T) word count: 1,1k
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Ares kids liked to fight. Among themself and other cabins, they did not care as long as they got to win at the end. Clarisse was not that much different from her siblings. They enjoyed a brawl as any other person would, in their opinion. On the other hand, Aphrodite kids did not like to fight as much. They were more cunning than the Areses kids, who often used force as their way.
Clarisse was winning against her opponent when she saw a certain aphrodite girl making her way over to them. She quickly slammed the poor Apollo boy on the ground before focusing on the girl. She smirked at her.
“Came to get your ass beat, pretty?” She asks her, spear still in hand. The girl just smiled at her and shook her head.
“From you? Never.” She answered stopping in front of her. Her eyes slipped to the boy on the floor, who looked like he was contemplating whether to throw himself into the sun or not, for a second before returning to Clarisse. Sun shines into her eyes so she makes a shade with her hand.
“What do you want here then?” Clarisse asks, from her knowledge, her cabin was on painting duty today.
“I ran as fast as I could-”
“ That was hardly a run.”
“I RAN AS FAST I COULD, to tell you I heard a rumor.” Clarisse groans, not interested in her friend's banter. The aphrodite girl just giggled and spun around like an excited dog. She clapped her hands as fast as she could.
“ I heard that certain someone from Hermes cabin-” A palm lands on her mouth before she can finish her sentence. Wide eyes Clarisse was making sure she couldn't utter another word. She turned to the Apollo boy still lying on the mat, no longer looking into the sun, but instead looking at them.
Clarisse gave him a look and what seemed to be a growl, before the boy got up and left in a hurry. She turned to her friend who was checking her nails, her mouth still covered with her hand.
“ You can't just say that shit aloud!” Clarisse hissed before removing her hand.  Her friend just shook her head. Clarisse was very private about her crush. That private that even she found out about a few weeks ago, although her friend tells her she has known for months. Aprodies kids are weird like that.
“Listen nobody knows you have a crush on Chri-”
“LA LA LA LA.” Clarisse covers her ears and starts to yell. The girl just shakes her head putting her hands on her hips.
“Fine, I won't talk about it. Do you wanna do something else?” She suggests and sits down on the mat. Making sure only her feet touch the grass floor. Clarisse sat down next to her, her spear resting by her feet.
“I do want to talk about it, I just…” She started but stopped when a few of the younger campers ran by.
“Don't wanna talk about it in the open where anyone could hear?” The girl asked smiling at her.
“Yea… How do you always know what I'm feeling.” Clarisse says playing with her laces.
“We have that twin flame,” she said. Clarisse just nodded at her shoes before looking at her.
“Yeah, that quadruple bonfire or whatever.” She added, not understanding what the girl was saying but agreeing with her. She jumped up and brushed off the nonexistent dirt off her knees. Extending her hand and helping the other girl up.
“Wanna sneak to the armory for lunch?” The other girl gasps.
“We haven't done that in ages!” She yelps before squeaking and hugging Clarisse, almost knocking them out. Clarisse just rolls her eyes.
“Is that a yes?”
“Of course is a yes! It's a great idea! Nobody will hear us talking about-”
“Stop!” Clarisse yells holding her hand up to the girl. She raises her own hands in defense. They looked at each other before laughter escaped them. Making their way to the lunch slowly. The aphrodite girl was talking about her love for pasta and hoped that spaghetti would be on the menu today. Clarisse wasn't listening, her mind stuck on a certain someone.
“Right, sorry.” The girl smiled sheepishly.
“ Do you have any other rumors?” Says Clarisse carefully. She may look like a tough girl, but she is just that, a girl. No matter what kind of play she puts on, she does enjoy gossiping a judging all the other campers. Some more than others. Granted, she probably doesn't enjoy it as much as the aphrodite kids, but still.
The girl gave her a side look before nodding carefully. Before she could answer the two run into some campers. Clarisse wanted to yell and be herself but when she looked up she went red and looked away right away. In front of them stood Luke, Percy, and Chris.
The aphrodite girl smirked and struck up a conversation with them. After some time and exchanging shy glances with Chris, Clarisse just yelped lunch and grabbed her friend by a hand. Dragging her away. She heard a laugh behind her stopping near the forest when they were far enough.
“You have a crush! You have a crush! You have a-” Clarisse jabs her in the gut. The girl just bends over. It takes her a minute before she gets up.
“I deserved that. Anyway, that was cute.” She says checking her nails again. Clarisse looked at her nails too.
“You got them done?” She asked. The girls just nodded turning them to her. They were long and decorated with charms.  Then she looked at her own nails, they were short and colores, almost cut to the meat. Great at fighting, but not so at getting someone to like her. The aphrodite girl notices her studying her nails.
“He doesn't like them.” She says. Clarisse looks up at her and gives a confused look. The girl points to her nails. “The long nails I mean.” She continues.
Clarisse gives aws in understanding before dropping her hands to her size.
“I don't know what you're talking about.” She says before turning and walking to get her lunch. The behind her just shook her head before trying to catch up with her.
Later they were both sitting in the armory, eating away the bowls of pasta they each had. They put up the sign on the armory door so no wandering camper can walk in. They giggled and laughed. They talked about boys and girls. They judged outfits and fighting styles. And despise being demigods, they were simply being girls together.
“Do you think we get along so well because our parents hook up?”
“OH MY GODS, CLARISSE!”

GRAHH ANDRAS MOMENT
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His inclusion in the rewrite was largely inspired by Scarlet Pixels + @pinkandpurple360 , so shoutout and thank you guys for the ideas!
And here’s how he’d fit into my revision of Helluva Boss!
(Spoilers? Maybe? Stolas’s nature is implied to be off since the start of my rewrite anyways soooo…)
ANDRAS YAP SESSION
.
.
.
.
Andras is described as a marquis of the Ars Goetia, a supernatural entity who preaches chaos to the living world. Most of the elderly Underworldians assumed he disappeared for years, way before Blitz kickstarted his business. The reason why people say that Andras left was because he was envious of his fellow Goetians gaining legions riches, and important duties to carry out as above and so below… Andras was disregarded, pushed aside. And so they say he left to distance himself from that elite legion.
In truth, Andras had slain the gentle, pacifist Stolas and masqueraded as him, opting to wear a suit of the owl prince’s feathered flesh. He chose the young Stella as his bride-to-be, and spent the next few years swindling the public in his favor, spouting sob stories of how at lavish balls, he was always alone while his bride squawked and flounced about while badmouthing him like a bratty teenage girl. And his teenage daughter? Only a valuable story asset if he wanted to come off as a perfect sad little prince who could do no wrong. From the start, he was always a mastermind, writing his own fairy tale-like prophecy in which he would meet a lowly imp and fall in love, being taken away to his happily ever after with his witchy wife left in the dust. He then proceeded to trap the Underworld in a strange phenomenon; everyone within the “hex” would favor Stolas and coddle him, and berate Blitz to the point where he would give up and let Stolas comfort him at the absolute lowest.
One day, in an act of blind lust and wrath, he revealed himself to be the mastermind behind everything during a public trial. The high judges of the Underworld declared him to be guilty of exploitation and mass manipulation, but before the sentence could be carried out, Andras shedded his feathered skin suit and imp-napped Blitz to keep as his little plaything for all eternity; sometimes as an imp, and sometimes as the black dog that accompanies him to outings.
One massive rescue mission brawl later, Blitz was saved and Andras was finally given his sentence: he was to be stripped of all of his powers, be disowned from the Ars Goetia, and have his riches, possessions, and Grimmoire be handed to Octavia and Stella as a way to make up for the past. Andras would then wander the streets of the Underworld as a pathetic outcast, always shunned for his actions. He wasn’t allowed to be within a 5-mile radius of Blitz without getting swatted away. And if Andras was lucky, his glossy eyes and crocodile tears would work… 5% of the time.
That’s all! I wanted to make up a true villain for the story. God, Stolas’s canon writing would be so good if he was a manipulative villain, but alas… we got garbage. I also wanted to copy/paste his disgusting face somewhere…
Goodnight tri-state area!
