It feels like Billy's whole character is viewed through unreliable narrators. From the fans and writers. There's so much stuff that is said that just doesn't match up to what we actually see

i think it does a HUGE disservice to billy as a character that we really only see him through max's perspective, and of course she's gonna think the worst of him because she's getting the brunt of his anger and vitriol. especially when you add on the fact she more likely than not has zero clue about neils abuse or at least the extent of it. given that neil so freely hits billy in front of susan and forces him to apologize to her i can definitely see a world where he does the same in front of max but to her its just billy being punished and she doesnt know the history of neil abusing billys mom or how violent he gets with billy. i can also imagine neil plays them against each other and treats max far better than he treats billy. i dont think hes by any means step father of the year to max but like... he's not smacking her around so.

even when we get billy scenes without max its all so performative. he's not treated as an actual person he's just used as a show pony. we get very few glimpses into a billy who isnt putting on an act and when we do he's either completely disinterested and checked out emotionally, or hes overcome with emotion and its all spilling out of him.

billy fans understand this. the wider fanbase does not because well as soon as billy comes on screen they check out or skip ahead idk what theyre doing but theyre clearly not watching his scenes because they never know what the hell theyre talking about when it comes to him and its made abundantly clear

and its also clear the writers have no idea who the hell theyre writing for either. the duffer brothers going from billys interaction with karen in season 2 to season 3 told me everything i needed to know. they dont care about that man. billy was a means to an end. which like... fine? but maybe dont try and create a whole emotional season long arc and redemption for a character you clearly dont give two shits about? and have made zero effort to actually flesh out. its weird.

like listen i understand why billy is so misunderstood amongst fans because the show really gives you crumbs. but also like... there IS a semblance of a story there to pick from like im gonna need people to be a little smarter its not THAT hard

so here's the thing

i've seen a bunch of people say on twitter and stuff how... ed's behavior is very abusive and his anger is dangerous and he isn't romantic lead material because of it

and i get where they're coming from

but to me the main issue isn't putting ed in the position of a romantic lead, but not crafting the narrative around his characterization so that it allows for a spicy romantic pirates-in-love narrative instead of...whatever this is.

i'm going to try and explain this. idk if i'll do well but i'll try

the way she show presents stede is as an innocent baby who isn't really equipped for pirate life. he goes into a fugue/disassociative state whenever there's any real violence, apparently, and needs protecting by other characters when things get too rough - for example when ed is telling ned lowe not to take the poker to stede.

that's fine! it's honestly adorable to see a masc character being so soft around the edges and being protected by other characters this way.

(i'm not going to touch on stede's... eh... not great characterization this season rn)

then there's izzy, who is shown as a bit violent, a bit rough around the edges. he's more likely to draw a sword or throw a punch or hit someone with a chair or take a punch like a champ. violence is just part of life for him and that's okay, it just Is, from small things like smacking stede on the ass to bigger things like being wall slammed, it's not all that big or bad for violence to happen around and with him, he tends to give as good as he gets (there's some nuance here but i'm talking the macro themes not the micro of what izzy does vs is done to him)

and finally there's ed

ed is presented as violent (stabbing knives at guys, telling fang to use the snail fork etc) and used to a life of violence, and then in season 2 he's presented as really violent, his anger coming out in dangerous and terrifying ways

and frankly, i'd be super into it if he and izzy were the main ship and that twisted dynamic from the first two episodes of s2 was explored and fleshed out into something deeper

friends to enemies to lovers who fight and fuck. angry pirates who lay hands on each other, who break the whole ship with each other in the heat of passion.

except instead, s2 gives us... abuse. it gives us izzy cringing and lowering his head and trying to protect the kids crew from ed's angry outbursts.

so when stede comes back and he's still soft around the edges and ed headbutts him and it's deliberate, it's... not a great look, and the vibes are a bit skewed

if stede fought back, if when ed struck out at him he struck back, if they fought rather than it being one-sided, if it was friends to enemies to lovers and not presented as healthy, but maybe they can work their way there, who knows, maybe even more like anne bonnie and mary read because hey, they were doing something very similar?

except they were both into it. they were both enjoying the fighting and the fucking and the burning down the house.

stede's not enjoying it.

i cannot describe how much i hate this sequence just because of the way stede flinches

anne and mary don't!! mary jumps at the unexpected bang but she doesnt flinch, she doesn't cover her face like she thinks the vase will be coming for her not the wall and anne? looks so into it

and the thing is that in real life, no, you don't want to date someone who throws shit around, or headbutts you

but in fiction when it's two fucked up people doing this shit together like anne and mary?

that can be fun.

but instead what we've been given is stede flinching and apologizing to ed and then all of ed's...what, semi-redemption???? is done away from the other collection of people he abused, and then he spends some time on a fishing boat wearing a dog collar and everything is fine because he's good now and won't be doing anything bad ever again

and it's just... poor writing. the vibes are rancid.

i spent a really big chunk of time between s1 and s2 defending ed. i kept saying how what he did to izzy by making him eat his toe wasn't abuse, it was a one-off and abuse isn't a one-off thing it's a pattern, and then s2 made it a pattern.

explicitly. explicitly a pattern.

not just one toe but three.

jim saying "you're in an unhealthy relationship with blackbeard"

and all ed offered izzy was a "sorry about your leg" which might've been fine if izzy survived and they could work on this more, but instead that's all the apology and closure izzy will ever get

ed threw a chair and a vase and made stede flinch in fear and stede was right to do that. what part of any of this implies this will never happen again? that stede won't press the wrong button at some point and be on the receiving end? none of it

and if we'd been presented with a s2 stede bonnet who could handle himself and stand up for himself and fight back, then maybe i could imagine that turning into a weird sexy fucked up anne/mary like thing and maybe that could be why they put that episode in, but instead it feels like that episode was going, "look, see, ed's violence is fine because these two are fine with it with each other"

but stede isn't

ed and izzy or ed and stede in an unhealthy battle of a relationship could be such a fun, interesting and downright sexy thing to watch unfold on tv, and could honestly end somewhere far more down the chill end of the spectrum, but that's not what we've been given here

i cannot argue that ed isn't an abuser anymore, and not just of izzy but of the whole crew. he terrified frenchie.

it's not good writing to try and lean into the idea that ed and the pirates are violent and live a life of violence, so it's okay that ed's been violent, while simultaneously presenting his violence as traumatic and abusive, and then less than three episodes later saying oh it's fine now, he's just a little meow meow who can do no wrong, see?

especially considering they had him murdering people at the end of the season. and sure, you can say the english are just cannon fodder and they dont 'count', but they did before. ed explicitly did not kill before, and that included the english, or the spanish, or anyone else. so either they count or they don't, but flipping him on a dime makes no sense.

ALSO

having ed be the son of an abusive man who threw plates at his mother and made her cringe and then having ed kill his father to protect his mother and then a season later having ed become the kind of man who throws chairs and vases and makes his love interest cringe is, again, not bloody optimal

i want to say again i dont CARE about tv always presenting healthy relationships or tv always giving us aspirational goals. i want messy fucked up dynamics and terrible people making terrible choices, and still, to this day, i fucking love ed teach. i would honestly love to have seen them continue with ed's darkness and bring stede into it and see where they went with that, to have stede kill ned lowe and not just bury his feelings in ed but get off on it, enjoy the violence, and see where that led, but no

and so instead all we end up with is a protagonist who is being set up for a lifetime of abuse from an intimate partner, and a romantic lead who abuses his love interests (and yes. izzy is a love interest, he is set up like one and positioned like one and treated like one), frightens his love interests with his violence, is erratic and most of all inconsistently written. he was so sorry about scaring fang as though he hadn't been deliberately terrifying the whole crew for fuck knows how long? what?!

the whole fandom has spent so long saying, "no no, i know stede bonnet irl was a slave owner, but ofmd is using the names and not any real piracy, it's more disney piracy, you know? so that kind of stuff doesnt exist!" and then they flipped around and went "blackbeard is blackbeard and so he is evil and does all these horrible things" and i dont know how to rationalize the two sides of that because it feels so out of place

i'm getting rambly, this isnt a particularly well constructed thought process, i just feel like we were robbed both of a toxic, violent relationship that could be fun to see explored on tv and a soft and sweet love story between two middle aged men exploring their first loves in one fell swoop and there's no way for s3 to bring either of those things back because they got utterly torpedoed by making ed a horrible person

You had waited; of course you’d waited for him. You’d made a promise that you’d still be there, just where he left you, waiting for him with open arms and all the love you could give. And he’d promised you something too. He’d promised, over the phone call, his voice tinny and grainy, that he’d only be gone a few weeks. You could manage weeks… But Dallas Winston was never good at keeping promises, and you found that out pretty soon as the weeks turned into months, the days fading in and out, blurring into each other.

He stopped calling you, and you, in turn, stopped calling him. Your heart had been heavy, weighed down like a lead weight at the thought that, maybe, he wasn’t coming back, that he was gone and not coming back. It wasn’t unheard of; Dallas always disappeared for long periods of time without a word, but this time, you couldn’t bear it. 

So, you’d moved on. Your heart was tired of waiting and yearned for something more, something real, for someone who was there in front of you, someone physical that you could reach out and actually touch.

You’d broken your promise, just as Dally had broken his. But what you didn’t expect was for it to break him too. 

It was October when he returned; the air had turned bitter cold surprisingly fast, the leaves turning orange and falling from the trees at a gradual rate, coating the sidewalk in hues of reds and yellows. Everything looked different from when he’d left, and the moment he stepped off the bus, he could feel the shift in the air, like something much more significant than just the seasons had changed.

You weren't where you'd said you'd be, waiting on the sidewalk, wrapped up in his jacket, like you'd promised, like he'd spent countless nights picturing. That was the first sign something was wrong. Because you'd sworn to him that you'd be there, that you missed him, that you were waiting, praying that each passing second would go by faster… 

Your car wasn't in your driveway when he walked past your house and nobody answered when he knocked. Not that he expected them to; your family never had been too fond of him and they'd probably forgotten about him by now… 

But still, the absence sent a pang through his chest, a wave of fear that maybe you'd forgotten about him too. But that was impossible because you loved him, and even though he'd never said it back, he'd loved you too. You had a chokehold over him, the first girl who had ever made him feel something other than lust, like he was wanted in some other way. You were the sun, the universe to him, and he found himself clinging to your  light, trying desperately to hold onto it. And now it was dimming, and that terrified him.

He didn't know what possessed him to walk to the diner next, like some type of force was pulling him further into town, something he couldn't fight against, his feet dragging against the floor as he wandered.  Maybe it was fate that led him here and fate that had him pausing outside the window on the other side of the street, his gaze catching sight of you sitting in the booth, your booth. But it wasn't him you were sat across from. No. That wasn't him you were holding hands with and laughing with.

In his place was a put-together, well-built guy from the right side of the tracks with a smile that seemed to light up the room and clothes pressed and neat. He was a football player from school; Dally recognised him from the times he'd picked you up from school – a nice kid, or so people said, respectful, charming, and gentle... All the things he wasn't.

His sight grew dim, vision clouding slightly as his heart sank to his stomach, those walls that you'd slowly broken down going up as if they'd never been  demolished in the first place. Double thick, insulated, reinforced, bulletproof...

He watched as your face lit up in a laugh, asmile gracing your features that had only ever been reserved for him. But now you were giving it to someone else, willingly handing yourself over to another guy despite the fact you still wore the chain he'd given you, tucked under your shirt; the silver glinted in the dying sunlight... He'd lost you. You'd broken a promise and, in turn, broken him too.

Thoughts on Jackienat?

i never really reached a conclusion on the nature of jackienat but i love to think abt them. like we simultaneously got so much and so little. imo there was so much familiarity in how they acted with each but also just this underlying resentment. idk maybe thats because jackie saw that nat had this resilience and that scared her because she didnt have it?

i just get childhood friends who grew apart vibes from them sooo strongly. like i fully believe if jackie had lived then she and nat would have grown (back) together in some way, especially with jackie isolated from shauna for a period of time. i think they would have put the travis thing behind them pretty quickly especially with the others acting how they were. i mean its not like jackie was actually interested in persuing him and nats practical she doesnt seem like a particulary jealous person and being petty over someone having sex with your ex in this setting is just stupid. i just remember that moment where nat bothered to come wake jackie up, and i feel its been discussed this is probably because she didnt want the other girls to target jackie for being lazy (she was depressed. understandably.)

they would have balanced each other very well as leaders i think this seasons shown that and honestly if they'd survived the winter then it probably could have saved them all in the long run. so beyond having a seemingly complex relationship that we only saw in glimpses, they're just an incredibly interesting "what if". (Nat thanking jackies bones made me cry btw) like obviously jackie had to die its pivotal that she does, but it would have been so fun to see their relationship progress and yeah im not averse to pairing up any of these girls lmao, so you get the drift.

For her she's the twin sister of Garroth, she's a few minutes before him so sometimes she likes to put that over his head! I forgot the Lore between the Ro'meave like if Garte is a bad dad or not but anyways I wanna say she's a daddy's girl like he loves Garroth and Maria the most.. and she loves her dad she tries to see past his rude way to his other son's.. kind of turning a blind eye from his rude tone or behavior towards his other sons.

She's a peacekeeper between Garroth and Zane after the snowball incident, she grew to care like her mother for her brother's, Maria was a Zane defender while he was in his emo phase she and him looked up tutorials on how he should do his eyes.. he would never did it until season 2 where he grows into his emo phase more, she let him use her mascara from time to time!

Axel Shalashaska

The twin brother of Aphmau, he's the youngest by minutes after her, I wanted to add birthmarks below their eyes because I find them really cute— to be honest I just wanted it on Axel but didn't want to put like a little info behind it so both twins got it from Sylvanna who also has that, his darker tonus from his father, before divorcing Sylvanna and Zack decided to give the kids ear piercing at a young age which why they have earrings in the art.

Axel is more calm but secretly as shy kid, he's a great mamas boy since he's the only boy so he has to be the man of the house but Sylvanna doesn't let him! Pinching his ear whenever he does something without her knowledge, hes a controller user then aphmau who plays on her laptop— he really loves chocolate cake especially homemade.

Maria + Axel

Axel is a freshman while Maria is a sophomore, they met somewhere else during the time between Aph and Garroth in the first episode of PDH, he bumped into her while he was trying to look where Aph was Maria was kind apologizing before Axel all flustered by seeing her beauty also apologizing!

She never saw him as a love interest at first more like a friend.. a close family friend since finding out they're friends before, Axel was having a lil crush on her while she didn't feel anything at first about liking him. Since freshman are 14 when they join High school and I wanna make Maria 16 so she doesn't want to date freshman especially Axel since he just joined high school.

(this was during the prom episode, the scene was taking place outside right in front of the stair leading to the front doors, I just want to add benches near the sidewalks in front of the stairs) Axel was shy or hesitant around Maria, at prom she had a date but he bailed last minute she was in her dumps already texting her mom to come pick her up before Axel found her, even in the dark could see how her makeup ran down her face. He sat with her until Zianna came, they had a little chat before Axel expressed his feelings in the most crack and squeezy voice how much he likes her but was quickly shut down by Maria saying she finds him sweet but he's too young even for 2 years apart she doesnt wanna date younger people for now..

He felt like his heart was just ripped apart but tried to play cool, all smiles as Zianna finally came she said in the whole gentle ways possible she hopes he finds someone he really likes, hugging him before leaving waving him off. As the vehicle drove off Axel just sat in the dark with the moon casting over him, he felt weird.. this was his first rejection, his first actual crush but for some reason he wasn't mad? Or sad he didn't know how to feel.. he really did love her but if she says he's too young maybe if he gets into college she will change her mind? Is he in denial? Idk~

But that's all I have for now I'll probably add more later, it's like 5:00 in the morning now I need some sleep!!

questioning "coming out" as the culmination of will's character arc

i just had this thought of just like,, what does coming out mean for a characters arc? like is that really the final goal in a queer person’s life/ story? i mean, i think in some cases it makes sense like if a story is about a character’s queerness and also their relationship to their family and how secrets can affect relationships but i feel like there’s this idea that if there is a queer character their goal should be to reveal said queerness. i think that 1. kinda makes them a caricature of queerness, dumbs their character down to just one aspect 2. centers other people way more in the narrative - things that have fs been said before. but i really like the scene of will “coming out to jonathan” because its not like a “coming out scene” - will doesnt come to him with a confession - instead jonathan comes to him with support because he can see will’s sadness and longing and most importantly, the distance that has grown between them. queerness isnt necessary to this scene but we know its there so this support, this kindness, this connection means so much more, defies expectation - especially in this time period when such acts would not be at all expected of someone encountering a queer person. we dont expect cruelty from jonathan but its important that he is the one to reach out to will. idk if i want there to be an emphasis on will telling people he’s gay despite the agency it may give him - with both of the “coming out scenes” we’ve had in this show neither of them were necessarily voluntary or on their own terms. robin came out to steve because he told her he liked her and she Couldn’t like him back. jonathan shared his support for will without will ever voicing the monstrous desire jonathan offered comfort for. that feels so much more true to the time period and the lives these characters are leading - queerness is not the biggest issue rn, theyre being haunted by an evil dimension or whatever. idk what it would do for will’s character to tell joyce that he’s gay - i dont like that the idea of coming out to her would just be motivated by wanting to Come Out in that situation, i dont think thats a good enough motivation for will - i dont think he wants to be known necessarily, i dont think that his goal or his overall thing,, mike however? maybe? because of the more societal pressures and hiding and “forced conformity” his character deals with i feel like sharing that secret with someone and having them react well could be really important for his arc - like revealing his true self and not hiding behind what he thinks is expected of him is really important character growth and a huge thing holding him back in his relationships over the last couple seasons. he’s performing - taking the mask off, finding out that it was a mask all along, is important for him, his relationships (with will and el especially), and us as an audience to forgive him. will obviously dealt with bullying both from lonnie and his pears surrounding his sexuality which makes being Accepted for said sexuality so so important for him, i just don’t know if the Telling People part is as important for his character? telling mike he’s in love with him? yes. absolutely. hes hiding that from him and it affects their every interaction. but i don’t think will is hiding from joyce in this regard - i dont think its important for him to reveal it to her much like it wasn’t necessary to reveal himself to jonathan - they already know - or even if they don’t, they know nothing will ever change the love they feel for Will, they just need to show their love and acceptance. i wouldnt be mad if there was a scene almost identical to will and jonathan’s with joyce and will, at least in sentiment. ik it can be very important to say it out loud but if thats the goal then That should be the goal, not informing joyce. im curious why other people want a joyce and will coming out scene so badly - is it just for the ensured emotionality? is it for will’s agency? is it for the show to say the word gay? what is will’s motivation here and why is his tactic to come out?

joels death scene. okay, so from what ive said about abbys whole monolouge this was just a mess. the fact that he got stabbed in the neck was so stupid, if 6ft muscle mommy game abby cant break a golf club from hitting him with it how did 5ft show abby? so so dumb, they shouldve kept it as it was. bellas acting in this scene was so good though, they do the whole screaming and hurt voice so so well.

changing who is with who. i knew this would happen after everything was out of order last episode. but taking the ellie and dina scene (i would argue this is an important scene, ellie learns it was more than a stoned, drunken kiss and there are true feelings there, and well also its a hot scene.) having tommy stay at jackson and not be with joel- again id say this is because abbys group was smaller and tommy and joel wouldve been able to take them down imo, where as a teenage girl with hyperthermia and an old man, maybe not so much.

but what if she first got herself MIA'd and entrusted Clouse to keep her kid hidden from other elemental masters?? and what if clouse just kept the kid to himself?? on chen's island??

but all of the au itself got inspired from 'the search for zane' book where jay gets everyone to dress up as kabuki

so now it can go a few ways

a) nothing much changes cus jay just regularly goes out into the world, except for additional drama thats revealed in season 4 cus clouse Did Not Like Jay Joining Wu

a.2) jay ran away from there which again Additional Drama

b) a lot changes in the team makeup as jay doesnt join so idk maybe lloyd joins sooner as the green ninja that mostly uses lightning since him using other elements was his thing And he did learn lightning control first in canon Or nya joins sooner as a water ninja. and everyone kinda hates each other and the team vibe is totally different since jay isnt there

and garmadon would be pissed at clouse for hiding libbers baby from him (as i headcanon it was garmadon who actually brought Lib to the side of the elemental alliance)

but all of that means skylor+jay raised as siblings + jay having a pet snake

as i said its just an idea id have to expand on what to do with it but i really like it!! i think itd expand really well and punch up on jay being connected to islands (the keepers' one) AND later tournament of the sources

ive hit season two of ranma 1/2 and i gotta say i think im a ranma apologist. like seriously this guy just has everything against him all the time! hes constantly being called a cheater or a pervert because of what other people are doing to him and is never heard out or even helped in these moments

girls and guys both constantly throwing themselves onto him even when he doesnt want it and verbalizes that (even if he stutters or pauses he is still a teenager and probably isnt used to such physical intimacy many people would be fuckin stunned to silence in moments like that and yeah! some of the girls are cute! that isnt helping!!) and the first one being akane walking in on him and calling him a perv for looking at her. even if ranma was a girl when she walked in still not cool to walk in without even saying anything! (maybe this is cultural difference idk i know bath culture in japan is v different than america but STILL SHE WALKED IN ON HIM

each character that has a thing for ranma is CONSTANTLY trying to kill one version of him and kiss the other which much be insanely stressful to never feel safe in either body and akane is kinda too up her own ass to recognize or help him in most cases (this isn't meant to be akane hate i LOVE HER SO MUCH but like!!! girl i know he's a prick but damn!!!!)

and yes ranma IS a prick he sucks and says nasty ass shit to akane all the time (which she is also just as common to start and finish as well as he is. they are back n forth there) but like, again, damn no one is ever ready to stand up for the poor bastard

OHH yes yes.

In season 2-3 she has it pretty short. Especially during the Zam Empire stuff, her hair is very well kept, and not TOO messy. How can other people trust her to keep the entirety of spawn in check, if she can't even keep her hair all tidy? Right?!. She is trying to uphoad an image.

But after her execution, and being brought back, she stops cutting it as much, she has a word to save after all, and cannot bother with trying to uphold that image anymore.

Season 4 she lets it grow a bunch after the last finale. It is also in an attempt to change look during her stay in Team Awesome, doesnt wanna be seen as the same player as before, and realizes that she actually fw longer hair a lot!!. Eventually it gets long enough to tie into a long braid that she loves and adores (when stressed plays with it maybe idk... lots of decision making during this period with duped items and stuff)..

After the Team Awesome betrayal tho me and @pavlovianbell talked about the possibility of Mapicc cutting it off during the castle arc at some point. In a way, removing that choice from Zam to do it herself. It could be like a symbol, of the "there is no getting away from me". As the hair is cut short, so is her life. Yknow. Used as a warning or something like that.

That's why in my Eclipse Federation design of Zam she has shorter hair that she is trying to grow back. It gets a bit messy in this period of time, not on purpose really. And yeah that's about it for season 4. Just lets it grow from that point onwards.

During season 5 her hair isnt really her priority, she just lets it grow and actually likes the messy look to it. She lets it run wild and get as long as it can get. (Its awesome she slays, it never gets as long as it was in season 4 tho).

Season 6 she is the one who makes the decision to cut it at a comfortable shoulder-length. She takes very good care of it. And brais it every day behind her head. (Something something...holding yourself back.. something something the braid also reminds her of mapicc in a weird way... ). She always cuts it the same length, or at least tries to.

Season 7 long beautiful hair tied in a low ponytail behind her back. Idk much other than that. 🔥🔥 I'll come up with bullshit as the season unfolds but that's all I have so far..

(think the "my cabbages!" guy from A:TLA) but basically she is a former NASCAR racer who got injured, badly, her very first season, and suffered permanent hearing loss in one ear, and partial in the other. she is now a getaway driver, and she is cringe. she's cocky and a schemer, but she's also an absolute fool. it took her a while to get behind the wheel again, and she still struggles. and somehow she chose working as a getaway driver for various WK villains as an optimal career path. everytime she leaves her car unattended, she comes back to it totaled. like Kevin from Ben 10 lmaoo

aviva and zach will parallel some sort of elementary + middle school friends type of thing where in HS they go to separate schools. both zach and aviva are in fire nation but aviva is from a colony and zach is an actual fire nation kid. both are non benders, or possibly zach is a weak firebender, who uses his flames for like, the forge or smth idk. Maybe he cant bend at all. Its still something I'm figuring out. the two meet as they always do, first rivals then weird friends.

when they're both around 16/17-ish aviva meets some other earth nation ppl and they fill her in on what's going on outside. she decides to leave. Zach obviously calls her a fucking idiot cuz wtf aviva you're gonna die out there. and aviva is like nah man trust me they said they have leads on the Avatar so if we bring him back then it might actually end the war. zach is obviously hella sus about this but he can't convince avuva out of it so he resigns and tells aviva to be careful. The next time they meet it likely wont be as friends

there's more to the au ofc, but i was thinking of maybe doing a series of connected oneshots set in this verse for them and to explore the other characters as well.

and so its either martin who there? for some reason? and chris is trying to get to him, OR its a Wild Kratt Kid, im undecided

aviva thought zach was wished away to the labrynth and under threat of being turned to a goblin she wasn’t aware that, yk, the labrynth is his HOME (prison, whatever you wanna call it)

so it’s like—zach trying to get out and his attempts bring him to aviva and chris who are trying to get IN. as a kid and throughout his teen years, zach WAS able to go to the mortal world, hence the science camp, neighbors-ish with the kratts, etc

i’m thinking that, the varmitechs do have a business in the mortal realm too, which is why he lives there, but they also have business in the fae realm? so like, ima have to work that out later

still, i plan on writing this as a one shot, (though its gotten rather long ill be honest) with it going back and forth between zach's many failed runs, (the past) and his current run (which is where he bumps into chris and aviva)

My very definitely insane but perhaps accurate theory on Samuel (né William) Mulder's paternity.

okay so we know from the first ep in s6 that humanity has some latent alien DNA, and some people have that DNA activated? turned on? idk ykwim. Think gibson and that stigmata boy from air bud. My theory on mulder and scully is as follows:

Mulder has latent alien dna stronger than most people.

Scully (and her family possibly just the female members) has latent alien dna stronger than most people and also mulder.

Mulder's symptoms: he has a BA in psych from Oxford but his intuition on the causes of cases and perp motivations and [] are almost certainly due to the fact he has a connection with them, in some way mind reading adjacent. Like he gets a feeling in his stomach about what the situation is and goes with what he and scully would call intuition. there are plenty of funny as hell memes on this site about this. So it follows easily that when his DNA gets activated he is overwhelmed by everyones thoughts, Buffy Summers in Earshot style.

Scully's symptoms: she sees dead people... lol but honestly she sees her dad in season 1, she sees the dead multiple times in Elegy and it's not an omen of death bc she lived. She sees her daughter multiple times. She also sees a legit angel, and a demon or devil however you want to look at it, and I would argue an alien spirit? (old dude in amor fati) who maybe has been on earth waiting for the "chosen one" since his space ship landed in the garden of eden... (lol thats my most favorite of all my unhinged head canons)

Maggie: she has prophetic dreams or feelings about things that are going wrong

Missy: girl is straight up tied into other realities and knows it and embraces it. I find it such good characterisation how her family treats this, that scully is shown to be scared of this and completely ignores the fact she is also tied into this ability.

My unorthodox theory is that CSM had nothing to do with healing scully. Or magically giving her ovum out of nothing. En ami could technically be lifted right out, bc ew assault, or just disregard or believe csm was lying about the extra stuff cc retconned in the revival.

Enter the alien spaceship in cote d'ivore from the amor fati trilogy...

so Mulder touched an etching of a part of the ship and had his shit rocked (alien DNA activated) which begs the question, what would happen to Scully being that she actually touched the actual ship?

my theory? The ship has some sort of mystical power. If I was super spiritual or Melissa Scully id argue the ship gives what you deserve. In amor fati we see it bring back to life a bag of shrimps, zombify a dead man, and boil people like ocean soup.

Why then would we not assume scully touching the ship didn’t activate her very obvious not really latent, alien DNA? And what did she deserve? oh the world, but also to be healed. of cancer, and whatever those men did to her reproductive system.

Now you might say well mulder got superpowers but scully didnt? you said she was more powerful than mulder... and to that dear reader, I submit she did get an extra alien ability. We see the alien bounty hunter have all kinds of abilities, including healing mulders mother on her deathbed. I think Scully got that ability in addition to her old seeing ghosts thing.

The evidence? So, mulder on his deathbed, metal halo of faux thorns is dying of overactive alien abilities, his brain juices or something were transferred into that weird old man, but even I, a layman has trouble understanding how this would cure him of his overactive alien abilities. unless every bit of his Cerebrospinal fluid had been drained, which he'd actually probably just die, there is no way that surgery cured him of anything.

Enter Scully and the literal fairytale-esque tear on his face that wakes him from his sleeping-beauty slumber, and seemingly cures him all in one go. I posit Scully is now a healer on top of her ghostly abilities. but being terrified of the paranormal within her and possibly not knowing how to work them mulder is her only one, thus far.

So yeah, the ship cured her infertility and activated more latent alien abilities in her DNA, and she's so highly evolved she doesn't have the poor reaction to it that mulder does. Samuel Mulder or whatever you want to call him was their biological child with alien superpowers because both of them had activated alien abilities when they conceived him.

Anyway CSM has never been anything but pathetically inconsequential to me. So much so I think hes the one who is infertile. I could probably rant about it, but will spare you that for now... all I'll say is senator matheson is who mulders dad will always be to me. They look SO similar, the jawlines? Hello?
