Hold on because I have thoughts about them I love to think that either the first time Tianlang-Jun saw Qinghua or saw him from behind but genuinely just forgot who he was. He was severely taken aback because I like to headcanon Shang Qinghua with curly hair and Su Xiyan is said to look closely to Luo Binghe so From Behind with Qinghua's hair down, An Ding golden robes, and for a moment an air of unwritten confident as he manages the peaks with ease, he was briefly reminded about someone he onced loved.

HOWEVER!! I really enjoy the idea that he fell in love with Shang Qinghua because he's so drastically different from Su Xiyan. He's a crying, manipulative, two faced man, that will do anything to save himself, someone that genuinely has a lot of love in his heart to manage his peak with as much care it while juggling a spoiled kings kingdom that is OBVIOUS he has an attachment too. This nervous, sweaty, pathetic little human will fall to his knees and cry for mercy while plotting your demise, he's cunning, smart and uses his resources so well. And he writes the best smut he's ever seen. Things he didn't even think could be put into writing let alone attempt. He's head over heels and he's absolutely fascinated at how strange he is. How interesting. Completely different.

aggie<333 since she has the tarvek role in this au i included some extra doses of his red in her outfit. i used her vol 14 train clothes and professoressa's "heterodyne" costume from the mechanicsburg solstice story as references, since those are the two examples we have of mechanicsburgers providing agatha w fancy clothes so they provide my best info on what mechanicsburg traditional/folk dress looks like. i mixed in a bit of a western silhouette bc even tho in this au the empire doesnt control mechanicsburg the empire prolly still has some general social influence like if all its nobles dress a certain way it would influence how people in general dress [and i think the house of valois would go for more of a french look bc see rule #1] also im just a sucker for the leg o'mutton sleeves. theyre fun!

zeetha who should logically be the kb of this au but i refuse to kill her bc shes my girl!!!!!!! i love zeetha so much. since in this au the yajeena invaded europa instead of the other, zeetha has to hide that she's skifandrian while traveling, so hair covered and quata'aras wrapped up. since she's not traveling with the circus i wanted her clothes to have a more scavenged look to them, so she's wearin pants too big and an airman shirt w the sleeves ripped off [very jägercore] [and i have made sturmvarous airman uniforms blue w narrow white stripes rather than the even red and white of wulfenbach uniforms as another indicator of how different this timeline is]. and as tribute to her kinda taking on von zinzer's role i gave her his pants

If she chose to protect Charlie's dream, she would still be perfectly loyal to her but in the act of so would reveal a secret that could harm their relationship(which does happen at the end but that's because the plot wanted it like that). If she chose to side with Adam, she'd be hurting Charlie emotionally, sure, but it would keep a secret that could make Charlie see Vaggie less than who she is to her already(atleast what Vaggie might think would happen). Imo it should've been her deciding to protect Charlie, since it would mean she's devoted to her at all times.

ANOTHER THING! IF SHE COULDN'T MAKE THE CHOICE, THAT IS SOMETHING INTERESTING TO GO INTO. Maybe it could go deeper into how Vaggie doesn't know who she is without Charlie. "Pretty sure that was Minsc," Cal pipes up from the second floor balcony, broom in hand, "I saw him and his hamster hunkered down over there, going ham on the...well, ham."

"So they're the bastards that hogged the ham." Lia crouches down and starts stacking the plates into one pile, her annoyance making them clack hard together to the point that Rolan fears one may break, "By the time I got to the buffet, all that was left were those dainty little sandwiches."

"Heh," Cal points at Lia with a grin, "Hogged the ham."

Lia snorts despite herself. "Damnit Cal, I'm trying to be angry."

A rush and crackle of energy cuts their idle chatter, and the three tiefling's eyes go to the portal as it's swirling mass brightens. A moment later, you stumble through. Though you departed less than 30 minutes ago, you look entirely different now. Your perfectly sculpted hair is now limp and loose, strands sticking to your cheeks with sweat. You're bare-footed, your red dress hiked up your thighs and held in a wad by the same hand that holds your shoes. And in the other hand...

Rolan feels the blood drain from his body. He's completely frozen in place, even as your eyes lock onto his and you begin marching over, brandishing the letter in front of you.

"Is this some kind of joke?" Your breathing is harsh, and as you get closer, Rolan can see just how flushed you are. "Are you stupid?"

"Gods, Rolan, what in the hells did you do?" Lia is is at your side in an instant, scowl in place.

"I--" Rolan takes a step back from the both of you, panic rising hot and tight in his throat, "I don't know--"

And he really doesn't. He doesn't understand why you're looking at him with such anger, why your chest is heaving and your eyes are glassy.

You blink and turn to Lia, seeming to only just realize that she's there. And then your head turns to see Cal, broom clutched in his hands as he slowly descends the stairs. Your shoulders deflate and the anger across your face is replaced with sheepishness.

"Come on, Lia." Cal fumbles as he leans the broom against a nearby bookshelf, "You wanted to go grab a drink at the Elfsong, didn't you?"

Lia's jaw works as she glares at Rolan, clearly wanting to know just what in the hells is going on, but a glance at your embarrassed face makes her huff and turn on her heel. "Whatever's happening, you better fix it, Rolan."

Rolan silently agrees as Cal and Lia cast one last look back at the two of you before disappearing through the portal. You turn to confirm that they've left before raising the letter once again and frowning at him.

"What is this?"

Rolan doesn't answer. He's confused, sure, but he's also in shock. He hadn't prepared to be confronted with his letter so soon. And with such vitriol.

Your lips thin at his silence and you bring the paper up to your face. "I am aware that the feelings I harbor are entirely one-sided. Despite this, I hope you think no less of me for this confession." You turn your eyes back to him and brandish the letter once again, "Are you stupid?"

"Am I...um..." Rolan can feel his blood thundering hot in his veins, his stomach flipping uncomfortably at hearing his written words read out loud. "I...I don't--"

You cut off his stumbling words as you take a step forward. "You sit up here in your big fancy tower, thinking you're so clever, assuming you understand me." You smack your hand against the letter, "You go so far as to write me a confession, but you just--" You smack the paper again as your voice raises an octave, "You just get it all wrong!"

Rolan's lips flounder silently as he tries to figure out what to say. He wishes he could melt into the floor.

You take another step forward and shove the letter against his chest. Your eyes shine brightly and your chest heaves as you look up at him.

"You're really telling me that you had no idea that I'm in love with you?" You scoff, voice nearly hysteric, "You stupid..." You raise your fist and bring it weakly back down against his chest, "Idiot!"

Rolan swears that his heart stops beating.

You're...in love with him? Did he hear that right? There's no way that's what you just said. He replays your last words in his head, again and again, trying to figure out if there's something he's misinterpretting.

You stand before him, so close that he can smell the wine on your breath, looking up at him, clearly waiting for something.

Rolan clears his throat, but his voice still comes out as a scratchy whisper.

"Could you....say that again, please?"

"Say what?" You bite back, exasperated, "That you're an idiot?"

"No, the other thing."

You huff. "What, that I'm in love with you? Are you telling me that you really didn--"

Hearing it again finally cements the truth of it into Rolan, and he breaks your sentence off with a kiss. He feels the edge of your last word dwindle out in a sigh as your shoes clatter and the letter flutters to the floor. Your hands find his back, just as his tail finds your ankle and wraps around it snugly.

Perhaps he's not the brightest when it comes to matters of love, but now that he knows your feelings, he's damn well not going to squander them.

FIRSTLY I wanna talk about how Kallamar chooses his Disciples:

Being the most narcissistic one among his siblings, Id think that Kallamar wouldnt just pick about anyone to transmit all his knowledge to. Meaning that he'd rather have someone who would without a doubt die for him and be as transparent as they could with their lord, without him having to read their mind or expect betrayals

Out of all the siblings, Kallamar was the pickiest and last one to recruit his apprentices. He was convinced for a while to go without anyone, until he fell in love with his first disciple and made them what they are today From then on, he realized the quickest way to trust someone was if they were completely infatuated with him. So that is the "merit" he goes by and the same one that gained him 3 more Disciples after the first

All of that is to say: yes, if you are one of Kallamar's Disciples, you are also dating him

I normally wait a week or so for all the hype to die down before i watch something like this but-

Honest review below cut (its rlly short cause I dont feel like im qualified for this but still-)

Spoilers below (but not too heavy i think-)

Okay this eats for real

I feel like its a good story. All the (main) characters have a good level of depth, they're not just idols, they're actual people. Rumi facing and discovering herself and its not bad to exist (despite literally everything she's ever been told about her dad and her life), Zoey making a place for herself, not letting her mind hold her back, and Mira just being herself, not hiding what makes her her and instead embracing it (Rumi could learn a lot from her). Honorable characters include Bobby, Tiger, and Bird (Crow? Is it a crow?)

The plot does feel a little cliche, especially near the end with the whole music brings us together wonder where thats from *coughcoughequestriagirlscough* but it makes sense for the plot. The humor in there didn't feel like too much, it fit really well. Overall the plot wasn't too heavy or too light, it balanced out really well.

I dont know a lot about Korean culture, legends or myths, but I think that what there was was solid and good all around. Also anyone notice Jinus hair? He cut his hair when becoming a demon, banishing himself for what he did, severing all ties with his past life. The demon we see isn't Jinu (or the man in the visions isn't Jinu), its a new identity, because Jinu died when he sacrificed his family. Ooor maybe im just reading too much into it and they just did it for aesthetic purposes, who knows

Now, the music. HOLY SHIT IT EATS. Waiting for "This is what it sounds like" covers. Golden? Eats. Takedown, in literally any other context, eats. Rlly good execution of how they put it in there, loved that.

Takedown... that entire scene. The entire buildup to that scene BROKE ME. Rumi trying to change the context of the song, not only because it wasn't what they needed (tbh that wasn't her main priority at that point), but because she didn't want to hurt Jinu. She didn't want to make the song aggressive, to feed into what they've been taught and all they know about what they fight against because she knows. as soon as I saw the warning for arguing i knew this was gonna EAT. That may or may not be one of my weak spots and its like in half the things ive wrote LOL my fav parts were when shuichi was like did you rlly want me to die, would YOU hit me and all those QUEESSSTIOPPNNSSS AAAAABNYNSNSS oh my god you have no idea what your fics do to me /pos :3 also the way shuichi was talking reminded me if my dad which made me oh so sad - i dont mean this in a bad way my dad is very awesome guys I just so happen to be like kokichi and lash out at the wrong people:< but anyway. shuichi. said. i. love. you. to. KOKICHIIPH MY GOQKXNNDJ OH MYMDN that was so heartbreakinf because DAMNIT that moment was so....aaaaaAAAAJAJSJNS pls tell me you get what I mean I am unable to like put any of my thoughts into words OH and dont get me started on shuichi making kokichi his little fort bc that was SO sweet!!! And then they had a fight...whoopsie!! That was rlly sad because for some odd reason i feel extra guilty arguing with someone AFTER they did something for me and if that person just so happened to be SHUICHI (aka the biggest sweatheart ever) oh boy I would SHATTER. Their whole like dialouge was so good kokichi getting mad at everything even when HE brings it up and shuichi just being scared and confused oooohh i love them >_< and when kokichi said he got dressed up for tea parties i was like awh till I remmembered like wait no he was getting TORTURED. oh and getting punished for spilling it JESUS that one hurt ohh my sweet little angel we need to kill him. ALSO kokichis reaction to shuichis lil confession ooohh i could basically feel shuichis heart breaking now kokichi WHY would you do that :( /jk i know he has quite the problems right now but owie _(:‚‹」∠)_ anyways yeah. im just a huge huge fan of the whole arguing thing. and im also pissed at Tsumugi. your writing overall is a big comfort for me its so fun, creative and interesting and WUAAHAHSBS like where do you get these ideas :oo i love getting these little bed time stories once a week and being able to tell my friend all about it ive always been a huge fan of whump before i even knew what it was so finding actual GOOD whumo content of my 2 comfort characters gets me all xbhdjdjxjss yaaayyjyjy and sometimes I even see myself in some of these stories which has been helping me a lot so thank you for your writing o7 as a younger person I get told often that i dont have any problems so seeing stuff like this....♡♡♡ AAAAAAA not only that but its also kind of helped with my art- im not trying to be corny or anything but if someone were to scroll down my page almost all of my old art was just fully copied sprites/cgs like strand for strand i was NOT creative :< but when I read your fics for the first time i was like wowie i NEED to make something for this which kind of forced to me to try to come up with my OWN way of making faces, hair, etc...and I think its safe to say ive improved!! :> the first art ive submitted here was the kokichi angel one im pretty sure...? I dunno i really like the idea of it but looking at it you can pretty much see i was struggling trying to combine thjngs- i have a lot of WORSE works where ive tried doing something on my own but those will not see the light of day LOL but yeah might recreate that one bc I rlly like the idea:3 now I feel confident drawing my ocs and just doodljng around so...thank you :) again sorry if this comes of as kinda creepy- im really not trying to be i was just REALLY happy to discover basically what ive always wanted and I am now also more comfortable researching more about the topic and have read some rlly cool fics!! :3 anyways this is getting WAY longer than it was supposed to O_O but yeaaahhh thats all i have to say... i think LMAOO

AAAAAA im so so sorry i could have sworn i answered this but i guess i didnt??? i promise i didnt mean to leave this in the inbox this long on purpose i think i must have lost track of stuff </3 regardless, i hope you enjoy! admin must admit, asides from presents and the christmas tree, he doesnt do many holiday activities so... admin is underqualified for this but hes still gonna try! a lot of the character segments intertwine in this btw! like not in a "similar idea" thing but in a "they are actually overlapping and interacting with one another" way so !! side note unrelated to the post eheheheh the second batch of macarons have been piped! theyre now on the counter set out to dry, and ive got my ganaches out to get to room temperature so i can whip em up into a frosting :3

CAINE:

oh i just know that caine would lean hard into holiday stuff, plus i think he has the best sense of time in the digital world out of everyone.. plus he just seems like the kind of guy to celebrate all sorts of holidays, not just christmas! year round stuff, you know? not just winter... so you guys would likely team up and totally deck out the grounds to match the holiday spirit! sure caine on his own already puts in way too much effort decorating everything, he even makes it snow! but with you around he cranks it up to 11! lets just hope there arent any scrooges around, though.... also prepare yourself because he would definitely find a way to have christmas music play on loop in the background... somewhere... ambient music but its festive songs... i think caine is also the one responsible for most of the presents, since he can basically get most things with just a flick of his wrist! ooooo perhaps a date (platonic or romantic! up to you!) where you guys wrap the gifts together!

POMNI:

funny enough, while i usually think pomni would SUCK at cooking, i think she can make a mean hot coco. granted, hot coco and/or hot chocolate arent the hardest things to make, but... i dont know, its just different when she makes it... (recommendation from the admin, add a bit of cinnamon or nutmeg to your hot coco its a game changer frfr, this goes for a lot of chocolate stuff, actually. its like the chocolate-coffee effect but like. makes a different flavor profile. add a bit of nutmeg to your chocolate chip goodies. rn.)

anyways! pomni always keeps you supplied with hot coco, and honestly it benefits you both! keeps you nice and warm, plus its delicious; and it gives pomni something to do... i mean, its christmas... surely she can take it easy from trying to find the exit... just for the season... helps with her anxiety about the whole situation, you know? making digital food sure is weird, though...

RAGATHA:

as mentioned in gangles part, she joins you and gangle in helping making a skirt for the tree! keeping up with the idea of sewing things, i think she would also make stockings for everyone; leaving most of them blank so everyone can customize them however they like... but you and her get together to decorate your own together and just !! i just think thats sweet! depending on how soon caine starts putting the christmas stuff around, you and her might be able to make some ugly sweaters for yourselves! thats a christmas thing, right? oooo and they match.... OOOO YOU GUYS MAKE AN EXTRA LONG SCARF FOR YOU GUYS TO SHARE!!!! rolls around... she makes you mittens so you can go mess around in the snow caine put all over the grounds

JAX:

snowball fight. and i mean really intense once. in fact it wouldnt be too much of a stress to call it a snowball WAR! honestly jax might just be the type to put rocks in his snowballs.... but because this is meant to be nice and sweet, he wont... just this once, and because he feels TOO mean crushing your holiday spirit (even if your digital body would quickly recover from the possible injury...)

you guys make forts and go absolutely ham. the stuff ragatha had made for the two of you! i mean sure you guys cant succumb to hypothermia, buuuuuuuuuut being really painfully cold still sucks... but the sweaters help you guys stay out for longer to play! and you can perhaps ask pomni to make some hot coco

ooo perhaps you convince jax to make snow angels and snowmen with you... though, i think jax would make the snowmen purposefully unappealing... but maybe you think hes actually trying his best... oh you jolly little thing..

KINGER:

okay so i admit this one might be a stretch and its mostly because his robe already has the fur and he gives off grandpa energy (even though hes only 48 but hey some grandpas become grandpas young) but imagine somehow someway he dresses up as santa (and i say that loosely, his robe turns red and the fur turns a plain white), bonus if he wears a hat to tie in the entire look. while caine is the one getting the gifts and wrapping them, i like to think kinger would ask to be the one to put them under the tree at an ungodly hour. sweet man. chews

as for an interaction with the reader... hmm.. hes the last character im writing, everyone else already has their parts done... the one christmas activity i can think of that hasnt been taken yet is baking! honestly i can see him being a decent chef! maybe its the dad/granddad energy speaking to me again... perhaps its the admin projecting... buuuut imagine you two make shaped cookies togehter; stars, candy canes, trees, bells, ect... and you ice them together! sure they may not be the prettiest or look the most professional; but does that really matter when youre having fun? they still taste delicious!

ZOOBLE:

ok i get it, i tend to lean hard into the zooble being negative and/or unimpressed with things a liiiiiiiiittle too often, but again zooble doesnt strike me as the type to enjoy most holidays. they seem more of a halloween person to me, you know? though, i think that they would switch out their antennae for ones that resemble antlers more... or if they dont have those, they string lights up on them! all for you, just because they know how excited the holiday makes you. they dont care about many things, but they care about you... and if it means doing (harmless) things they normally wouldnt do, then so be it! dont expect them to get in on many holiday activities, though...

GANGLE:

you and her make decorations for the grounds and the giant digital tree caine put in the main common area! handmade ornaments, paper stars and snowflakes, things like that! you and gangle stay up take cutting each thing, applying the colors and the glitter and any small details.... dozens of times.... because caine chose a tree that was way too big than it needed to be.... oh you might have to have gangle on your shoulders so she can reach the higher points of the tree! sits and thinks.... ooouuuuuuuuugh you guys make a skirt for the tree together with the help of ragatha... little group activity... sobs...
