The morning sun filtered through the curtains of your shared apartment with Atsumu, casting a warm glow across the hardwood floors. You had just returned from your morning run when you noticed a sleek black package sitting innocently by your door. The distinct white Chanel logo made your heart skip a beat.
"No way..." you muttered, picking up the package with trembling hands. Just last week, you had casually mentioned how beautiful that new Chanel collection was while window shopping with Atsumu. You specifically remembered telling him, "It's gorgeous, but please don't even think about it. I'm happy with my regular bags!"
But as you opened the package, there it was – the exact same black leather bag you had been admiring, complete with its iconic chain strap and quilted pattern. Your jaw dropped at its beauty, but immediately after came the familiar exasperation.
"ATSUMU MIYA!" Your voice echoed through the apartment.
You heard shuffling from the bedroom, and soon enough, your boyfriend appeared in the hallway, wearing his MSBY Black Jackals training shorts and a plain white t-shirt. His blonde hair was still slightly messy from sleep, but there was a telling glimmer in his eyes that he was trying hard to suppress.
"Mornin', what's with all the yellin'?" he asked innocently, leaning against the wall with that signature smirk of his.
You held up the bag, your eyes narrowing. "Care to explain this?"
"What? That's a nice bag ya got there. Secret admirer?" He scratched his head, playing dumb, but the slight pink tinge on his ears gave him away.
"Atsumu," you said firmly, though you couldn't help but feel your heart warm at his thoughtfulness, "who else would send me a Chanel bag?"
"Maybe it was Bokun? Ya know how he gets when he's shoppin' for Keiji-kun, might've got carried away and bought ya somethin' too!" His explanation was so ridiculous that you couldn't help but laugh.
"Bokuto-san, who panicked last week because he accidentally bought premium rice instead of regular rice, bought me a Chanel bag?"
Atsumu's facade cracked as he let out a chuckle. "Okay, okay, ya caught me." He walked over to you, wrapping his arms around your waist. "But before ya lecture me about spendin' money, just hear me out."
You sighed, letting your head rest against his chest. "Tsum, we've talked about this. You don't need to buy me expensive things."
"I know," he said softly, his Kansai accent thickening with emotion. "But ya work so hard, and ya never ask for anythin'. Ya even pack my lunches for away games and come to every match ya can. Let me spoil ya a little bit?"
"But—"
"Plus," he interrupted with a playful grin, "ya should see yer face whenever we pass by that store. Yer eyes light up like when ya watch me serve an ace."
You couldn't help but blush. "That's different! Your serves are actually impressive."
"And my girlfriend deservin' nice things ain't impressive enough reason?" He pressed a kiss to your forehead. "I got money to spend, and I wanna spend it on the love of my life. Sue me."
You looked down at the bag, running your fingers over the smooth leather. "It is beautiful," you admitted reluctantly.
"Just like ya," he said, and even though it was cheesy, your heart fluttered. "Now, are ya gonna model it for me or what? Gotta make sure my investment was worth it," he teased.
You playfully swatted his arm but couldn't hide your smile. "Fine, but this is the last time, okay? No more surprise luxury gifts."
"Sure, sure," he agreed too quickly, making you suspicious.
"Atsumu..."
"What? I didn't say anythin'!" He raised his hands in surrender, but you could see him already planning his next surprise in those mischievous brown eyes of his.
"You're impossible," you sighed, but reached up to kiss him anyway. "Thank you for the bag. I love it... and I love you."
His resulting smile was brighter than any designer purchase could ever be. "Love ya too, even when yer yellin' my name through the apartment."
"Only because you deserve it!"
"Worth it," he grinned, pulling you closer. "Every single time."

don’t make me wait in the car again - axl rose fic
tags: sfw (for now), fluff ; Part 2 Here!
a/n: if you guys are interested, lmk i can make this a series and include smut!
It was one of those pathetic dusty southern evenings that turned the visible heat patterns golden. The air was thick with gas station neon summer heat, it made everything feel painfully slower. He pulled into the parking lot of a roadside bar that looked like it had been chipping away since ‘63. Tin roof, swinging sign, and sun damaged motorcycles and trucks alike parked out front.
The fledgling Axl Rose, or as she knew him, Bill Bailey, was trying his damn hardest to get a show anywhere he could. Traveling himself to charm his way onto a stage, which usually worked, unlike his car’s AC.
“Wait here,” he said, flicking the car sharply into park. “Won’t be long.”
She blinked hard at him through her recently catalog purchased sunglasses, bare legs crossed on the passenger seat. Her glossy lips slightly parted in disbelief. “You drove me all this way to sit in the damn car?”
She fanned herself with said catalog.
He leaned in smirking to her, hand braced on the window frame like he was posing, trying to charm his way into her graces. “It’s just a chat, bar owner stuff. Need to get into as many places as I can alright? Five minutes.”
“You said that fifteen minutes ago when we were still in Tennessee.”
He bit his cheek to keep him from laughing in her face. She was a mouthy girl, attitude and perfume, sitting there with her shoes off and baby hairs flowing in her face. Feet on his dashboard, which he would’ve swatted a groupie out of, she acted like she owned his car. In a way she did, he found himself loving her company on his desperate tries to network his way into fame.
“I’ll make it up to you,” he said, drumming his fingers on the roof. “You mad at me, girl?”
She looked the other way and let air escape her nostrils, he could feel her bottom lip extend out from the top. Facing the window dramatically. “Don’t flatter yourself.”
“It’s like that?” he mused, a smile on his face.
She didn’t answer verbally, but she did glance in his direction from the corner of her winged eye. She was allowing him to see her be annoyed at him, like she was urging him to feel bad. Charmed, even.
When he came back out a blistering 20 minutes later, of course she stayed put. As much as she considered walking home barefoot. Her legs were tucked up, flipping through an old magazine she found in his glove box; among other things. Chewing on the end of a Twizzler she bought three gas station stops ago. He knocked on her window, she didn’t look up.
“Alright lady, I get it, I owe you big.” he said, opening her door anyway.
“No kidding,” she said flatly, turning a page. “Didn’t know that waiting in your crockpot of a car was part of this whole stardom thing, Bill.”
As discouraging as this sounded, Axl knew she believed in him the most. Why else would she be here? States over, humming in the passenger, she clearly knew he’d make it big. But all of those things came after her mouth.
“Cause, I finally landed one for tonight.” he smiled down at her, standing by her legs and leaning into the door, close contact to her cheek with his pointed nose. A lanyard dangling in front of her face. To which she only looked up to with her eyes.
“And why would I wanna see you holler out there for these Randy’s and Gearheads?” she rolled her eyes.
“Cause you love me and you know I’ll spend most of what I make on you anyway.” He leaned closer, flashing his eyes.
She tried so hard not to smile, she never asked him to spoil her. He just saw what she circled in her magazines and surprised her with it. Thanking him endlessly with sweet talk he’d get only behind closed doors.
Of course he caught her little grin, it cracked with a twitch.
He grinned even wider. “You’re already there, you’ll forgive me in about twenty minutes.”
“Your performance better make it fifteen.”
“Ten if you stop pouting like that.” he chuckled.
She rolled her eyes and lazily slid before him out of his car, smoothing the dress she wore, pulling the waist ribbon like she was a gift. He stared at her amused.
The bar was dim and humming, low ceilings and poorly strung up lights, like a poor Christmas. Everything smelled whiskey soaked, including the curtains to the carpet. A country jukebox playing something slow in the corner, if it weren’t for the TV’s playing the game for the rednecks, it’d be the newest tech in the building.
The people in there were expected, freckled flabby arms, red shoulders and cheeks, sweaty, drunk and happy. Their beer was cheaper than their heaviest conversations, clearly the place was well loved.
She walked in with Axl like she owned the whole building, even if she looked way too done up to be there, she knew her boyfriend owed her something, so that gave her the power of a king. His hand hovered lower to her back, making sure the sleeveless bikers or charming homeless don’t even think about it.
They were sat in a sticky booth in the back, red leathered, holes from when young delinquents stuck their toothpick traps into the plush. The table carved with many symbols and numbers.
She slid into the booth, looking like she was way too dressed up to be here. Peeling the label off the soda bottle like she always did. He was fascinated with her.
“So, this is where your big business happens?” she asked softly.
“Mm,” he said, nodding on his knuckles. “It’s nothing exciting.”
“Yeah, I can tell by the smell. Real big stuff happening.”
He chuckled and shook his head, his arm slung over the booth. “You’re getting mouthier and mouthier.”
“You starved me and boiled me for like…ever.” She sipped her drink with a pointed little slurp. “I was five minutes from committing a crime.”
He leaned in from across from her. “You still mad at me beautiful?”
She paused dramatically, chin tilted. “Not if you order me something fried.”
He waved down the bartender and grinned. “I can do that.”
While they waited, she played with the straw wrapper, coiling it, twisting it into shapes.
“You nervous or somethin’?” he asked.
She blinked up at him, feigning innocence. “No. Just bored.”
“Uh huh.”
He squinted at her a little longer, and then grinned like he’d caught her in the act. “You’re high, ain’t you?”
Her mouth popped open slightly, her cheeks a bit red not from embarrassment, more from the effort of playing it off.
“I am not,” she said, way too quickly. “I’m maintaining composure,” she hissed, hands folded all prim now. “I am in public.”
“You accidentally thanked a customer for your drink five minutes ago.”
She tried not to laugh. “He was polite.”
He laughed, full and messy, the sound turning heads. Then he lowered his voice again, warm like whiskey and heat.
“I love you.” she said trying to divert the conversation.
She wrinkled her nose and looked away, biting her lip to keep from laughing more.
He nudged her foot with his under the table. “You’re alright, y’know that? But no more digging for treasure in my glove box. Look at you now.” Using a curled finger to flick up the underside of her nose.

twst x zoff glasses collection (post 1)
***Please note:*** Sharing merch images + news is not intended to encourage and/or to pressure anyone into making purchases. It is up to the individual consumer to be informed and to choose how they spend their money.
Tumblr only has an image limit of 30 per post; you can see the later 3 dorms' glasses designs in this post.
This is a collection of 7 glasses frames, each themed after one of NRC's dormitories and all the same price (14400 yen).
Each pair of glasses comes with an original case and a cloth to wipe your lenses. The original case is the same for every design, but you will get a cloth with a design unique to the dorm you selected.
Heartslabyul's roses are visible, and there are the 4 card suits (2 on either side) incorporated as well. A checkered pattern and Heartslabyul's half-colored heart logo are also in the design. Heartslabyul's roses are visible, and there are the 4 card suits (2 on either side) incorporated as well, representing each of the Heartslabyul boys (Ace, Deuce, Cater, Trey). A checkered pattern, crown (Riddle), and Heartslabyul's half-colored heart logo (foil-stamped) are also in the design.
The pattern on the temple is meant to resemble claw marks, perhaps of a lion like Leona. At the end of the temple, there is a foil-stamped hyena and wolf to represent Ruggie and Jack, respectively.
These glasses include turquoise cloisonne stone and engraving representative of the sea. The frames feature a wriggling octopus tentacle (Azul) and a spiral seashell on both sides. There are moray eels foil stamped on the frames, one for Jade and one for Floyd.
Kalim's turban was the inspiration for the hinge part. The temple, meanwhile, has a snaking cobra (Jamil) and a red cloisonne stone. The ends of the temples have foil-stamped scarabs.

I'd love to inquire about the Starlight Pawnshop. While the chess piece intrigues me, can I have the double sided coin? (Hoping for Aventurine, you see!)
King of Hearts, Ace of Spades
⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆
Double-Sided Coin: A coin where both sides show the same pattern, allowing its desperate holder to not need to rely on luck to win this bet and secure their prize.
⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆
Description: You live on a dying planet, making just enough money playing poker to get by. One day, you meet a new player, Aventurine of the IPC, who has come to your world as a part of the IPC's plan to take your planet over. While he wasn't planning to make any big gambles himself, the thought of you being his might change his mind.
CW: Yandere Themes, Drinking, Mentions of Death, Non-Sexual Intimacy
⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆
The scent of smoke and spirits is heavy and acrid, looming over your favorite poker table like a thunderstorm as the dealer shuffles a deck of cards. They’re red and black waterfalls in his weathered hands, rippling from left to right, right to left. Left to right, right to left, and again, and again. After you and the dealer, there are four empty wooden chairs, once occupied by players earlier in the night, now long gone after losing all their money. That left you and the strange man.
In your eyes, he looks rather gaudy in his well-pressed suit, practically shimmering from head-to-toe due to all the jewelry he wears. Unlike you and your rigid, controlled posture, he seems perfectly relaxed, draping himself over his chair, a king on his throne, overlooking his kingdom with a smile that seems to shine in his neon-colored eyes like diamonds. When the dealer passes out cards, dealing two to you and two to him, he glances at them without so much as a change in expression before he has settled back into his original position. His cards are so close to you that if you craned your neck just a little to the right, you might be able to know how to play this upcoming round. You know better, though. This is an impossibly important match, and if you lose it, you wouldn’t be able to pay your electric bill.
Still, the thought is tantalizing. Unlike the people you usually played against, who had easy tells and rarely won–unless you were having an off day–he was clearly well-versed in the game of poker, and had the luck to go with it: pocket aces, straights, a royal flush, even. You were certainly no novice either, but he had slowly been chipping away at you, taking high risk after high risk, to which you always folded, even when you had the cards to win.
Looking at your cards, you have to bite back a smile. In your hands lie the ace of diamonds and the ace of hearts: pocket aces. It was as though the stars–however invisible they were in the sky on your planet–had aligned in a serendipitous syzygy. This was the moment you needed. The moment your hard work would pay off. If all went well, you could pay your electric bill, as well as buy some bread. If you were really lucky, you could purchase a ticket off this planet, a world of decay and death, to go somewhere brighter and better, and start a new life.
Of course, that was all just wistful thinking, you remind yourself. Snapping yourself from your momentary reverie, you place your cards on the table, glancing over to the blonde stranger opposite to you. His eyes gaze at you with such unceasing focus, it almost feels like you’re being lasered straight through. You squirm in your seat a little, concentrating on the curve of his lip and the calm emanating from his posture, hoping to find some clues as to what your opponent might be thinking. Despite your best attempts, you come up with a blank.
“Why the long face, friend?” His voice snaps your attention like a toothpick, the words as thick and syrupy as honey as they pour over your ears. You do your best to force his voice out of your head, instead watching as the dealer lays out five cards in the center of the table and flips three over: king of hearts, jack of clubs, ten of diamonds. Just the sight of each card makes your heart thrum with excitement.
With shaky hands, you throw caution as far away as you can, and push your meager stack of chips into the pot. “All in,” you whisper. You have not prayed to the Aeons in many years, but in this moment, you send a silent prayer out to the cosmos, hoping for a response.
The stranger raises an eyebrow, clearly amused. Suddenly, you feel very small and insignificant, like an ant beneath a shoe. Perhaps this wasn’t a good decision, not when you’re on your last leg in this match, and you need this money. But playing it safe wasn’t working, and you’re almost out of money, so might as well go out with a bang, right? “All right,” he chuckles, leaning forward and using his free hand to push all his chips into the center of the table, “I suppose I’ll do the same.”
After a moment, the dealer flips over the remaining two cards: a queen of clubs and a ten of clubs.
Shuddering, you lay down your cards.
Your heart shatters so violently and thoroughly, nothing remains but a pit in your stomach.
He has pocket aces too, but unlike you, he has the ace of clubs, giving him a straight flush.
For several minutes, you watch yourself sit listless, as the dealer gives your opponent the winnings and heads off for the night. Now, in this part of the gambling den, only you and the winner remain. The man picks up a red and white chip, running a gloved finger across its damaged edge. “A good game. Excellent, even,” he remarks, flipping the coin in the air and catching it in his palm. He looks at you again, his eyes flickering with something unreadable. “How about a drink? I’ll pay.”
You want to say no. All you want to do is go home and cry and scream and figure out how you’re going to sustain yourself for the next week or so. You want to eviscerate this stranger for taking your money when he hardly needs it. He isn’t struggling to pay bills, or afford food and water. But you are. Even though you want to do these things, a free drink is a free drink, and with how tight money will be in the upcoming weeks, it’s not like you can decline the offer. “Sure.” You let him guide you away from the poker table, past strangers clad in shadows betting their miniscule fortunes and drunkards drowning in fleeting moments of hedonism to a small bar.
Lit by flickering neon lights and pungent with the smell of cheap liquor, it reminds you of everywhere on your home planet: trashy. There are no patrons by this time of night; all the reckless people have already spent their money, and those smart enough to not give into temptation know the price is far too much for just one pleasant night.
The man sits on a stool, lounging just as comfortably as he did at the poker table. “Well, what do you want?” He asks, propping up his chin with a hand. You search the bar, trying to find a menu, but come up with nothing. Not knowing what to do or say, you shift on your feet, chewing on your lip as your eyes flit over the room again.
Noticing your unease, your former opponent simply chuckles, sidestepping you to walk up to the counter. “Two glasses of sparkling water please,” he says, pulling out a black and gold credit card and sliding it over to the bartender. After a moment, he’s already handing you a fluted glass full of a pale, effervescent liquid. “By the way, I’m Aventurine,” the man says, offering his free hand to you.
In return, you muster up a weak smile, though bitterness leaks through the cracks. “I’m Y/N,” you respond. You clasp his hand and shake it once or twice, before letting go. After a moment, you take a sip of your drink. “Thank you for buying me this,” you add.
Aventurine waves a hand dismissively. “Oh, it’s nothing,” he says, “it’s not every day I get to play against someone so talented.” Even with how horrible you feel, the compliment is enough to brighten your expression a little.
A momentary silence settles over the two of you, and you feel the urge to say something. To do something. But before you can ask a question, something stops you in your tracks.
Your stomach growls.
You feel your face warm a little, embarrassed at how loud the sound is in the quiet. Aventurine tilts his head a little, an eyebrow raised. “Hungry?” he asks.
You give a curt nod. “Food is hard to come by nowadays. I make it by with gambling, but…” your voice falters into a sigh. This man isn’t family, a lover, or even a friend. Just an acquaintance you met only hours ago. You shouldn’t be sharing your life problems with him. “With everything getting worse, it’s only getting harder and harder,” you explain.
Aventurine’s eyes are intense. You never noticed how strikingly beautiful they are, as luminescent as the lights overhead. They gaze at you with a certain understanding, a solidarity even, as though he is silently saying ‘I have been hungry, too.’ Then you watch the light in them shifts, darkening like clouds covering the sun. “I could help you,” the blonde gambler offers, a smirk dancing on his lips, “for a price.”
At the sight of your confused expression, Aventurine continues. “I could give you anything you might want. Food. Water. Shelter. Luxury. I can show you the universe,” he says, gesturing to a cracked window showing the expansive, empty night sky. You have a distant memory of seeing the stars as a young child, but they are long gone, obscured by decades of pollution.
“What’s the price?” You ask, immediately thinking of an old saying your parents used to tell you as a child: nothing in life comes for free. For such a bargain, surely there must be a price to pay?
With the flick of his wrist, Aventurine procures a poker chip in his hand, tossing it up and catching it; unlike the warped, dingy ones the gambling den owned, the one he held is in mint condition, colored green and gold. “Oh, nothing too costly,” he chuckles, leaning in. “Just you,” he murmurs.
While the air feels electrified, you feel frozen in place. “I don’t understand,” you respond, the words moving past your lips like a drunk man hobbling home. Perhaps you are drunk with how your mind is spinning in every direction like a tornado. You check your glass. Still practically full.
Aventurine’s smile widens. “And you don’t have to.” His eyes bore into yours; for a moment, you feel like you’re being hypnotized by how the kaleidoscopic hues in them seem to swirl and shift. You want to move, but you’re still frozen where you stand. “To be honest, I myself hardly understand what I see in you,” he adds, “but I know I need it. I need you.”
The declaration hangs over your head like a thunderstorm, ready to strike you down in all its passion. Before it can, though, you manage to stand up on shaky limbs. “I refuse,” you mutter, storming out of the gambling den, leaving Aventurine sitting alone.
An easy smile rests on his face, his mind assured that this won’t be the last time he sees you.
⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆
You return to the gambling den the next evening, intent on one thing: winning. Your electric bill payment might be late, but if you manage to eke out a victory, you can pay for both that and your upcoming water bill. Your dreams are immediately halted by the sight of Aventurine, lounging at your table as though it’s his, eyes glittering with what you now recognize as greed. It only takes a moment for you to put the pieces together: how precarious your finances are; how you make most of your money through gambling; how much he needs you.
He’s trying to crush any chance you might have at earning money, so that you willingly walk into his arms.
His expression is unceasing. He knows you’ll give in eventually, you have to. But you aren’t going to give him the satisfaction of winning. Not yet. So, with fire in your heart and daggers in your eyes, you stalk over to your table, and sit yourself down.
⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆
It’s only a matter of days before you lose everything. Electricity. Water. Heat. Sewage. Waste. You don’t try to scrounge around for food or water, and don’t even bother looking for a job. You haven’t heard of an open one for weeks, especially with unemployment rising steadily. Most of all, you don’t bother going to the gambling den. You don’t want to see Aventurine’s smug expression.. Your home, a small, drab concrete box, will be your tomb. You’re sure of it.
That is, until you see those neon eyes glowing in the darkness of your room.
Immediately, you attempt to stand up, but your body protests, your vision growing blurry from vertigo. “What are you doing here?” You mumble. You try to channel fury in your voice, but you can’t find any fire in yourself, only weak, meaningless sparks.
Aventurine only laughs. “I’m here to offer you another deal.” With the flourish of a hand, he pulls out a small poker chip, the same one he held that fateful night you first met him. “If you accept, I’ll uphold my end of the bargain, and give you anything you want. But if you win a coin flip, then you don’t have to uphold your end,” he explains. “And let’s be honest: you don’t exactly have any more options, do you?” he asks, that smug smirk easily settling on his face. You scowl at him, but say nothing.
Finally, after a few seconds, you mutter a half-hearted ‘fine’. With the way Aventurine’s eyes light up, it’s like he’s already won. You suppose he has. After all, he has an extraordinary ability to get lucky when necessary.
“Hearts or spades?” he asks, though you hardly pay attention. You grunt out the former, watching as the coin flies high into the air, a blur of motion, before settling back down into Aventurine’s palm.
You see the symbol of a spade, but instead of fear, you feel relieved, oddly so. You slump into yourself a little more, sinking back down to the floor. After a moment, you feel Aventurine’s presence by your side. “Hey, love, it’s okay,” he murmurs, tenderly brushing some of your messy hair out of your face. Then he starts working his hands against your scalp, gently attempting to detangle the knots in your matted hair. “I know how hard this must be, but it’s going to be alright,” he whispers. “I’m going to take good care of you, I promise.”
To your worn-down mind, that sounds divine.

What could you let us know about the history of the Royal Flush Gang? It seems like there's been a few iterations combating different eras of heroes. Some powered, some not.
Are these guys related? Just snatching up a moniker? or something else?
Thanks for your time and your work!
More a version of the second than the first. The Royal Flush Gang are the closest one can get to seat warmers for hire when it comes to supervillainy.

(An "advertisement" meant to show one of the Gang's more stable and established lineups)
The Royal Flush Gang was originally assembled by mostly forgotten thorn in the Justice League's side Amos Fortune as henchmen for his luck based criminal schemes. Associates of his that he outfitted with powerful technology and just morally bankrupt enough to follow orders from a fundamentally petty man whose intentions were at BEST openly criminal and bordered on the downright murderous.
That originally Flush Gang was defeated when Fortune's then latest scheme went up in smoke and the men and women who originally wore then decided they weren't dedicated enough to the 0% success they'd had as criminals weren't keen on continuing on so, by means unknown, the costumes and weapons the Gang used found their way onto the black market which established the pattern that the Royal Flush Gang "brand" would repeat up until the modern day.
A quartet of enterprising young scumbags will find their way into the gear, sometimes at the behest of a more threatening villain sometimes with the intention of establishing themselves as villains in their own right. These groups will then be quashed, most often by the Justice League though sometimes by other heroic outfits. Some groups will stick with it longer than others, some will tap out after their first attempt, the gear or reproductions of it will end up back on the criminal weapons market, and the cycle will repeat itself.
The most impressive and imposing technology in the Gang's hand as it were also technically makes up the most consistent member of its roster. The hulking humanoid android known as "Ace" who will be resold, repaired and released upon the world as the muscle of any group aping the name.
As one can imagine their decades long losing streak and their inbuilt ability to attract the attention of the Justice League no matter what scale of heist they might be involved with have made them of a low tier in supervillain standings not helped by the fact that most Royal Flush Gangs don't last very long. The kind of people who have the money and the low moral ground to try to insert themselves into the supervillain community, but none of the skill, know how or "passion" to do something other than just purchase the most readily available equipment means that Royal Flush Gangs tend to be the arena of the rich, bored and brainless.

So! NerdyKeppie is working on a test program to permit exchanges of our clothing for size/fit purposes. This will be a little long, so bear with me.
As most of you know, our clothing is produced to order. This approach is part of what permits us to offer most of our patterns in over a dozen different flags as a matter of course (currently: Ace, Aro, Bear, Bi, Genderfluid, Genderqueer, Gilbert Baker/8-Stripe, Lesbian, MLM/Gay Men, Non-Binary, Pan, Progress, Rainbow, Trans). If we had to carry stock, we would have to restrict ourselves to The Big Flags, simply as a matter of practicality. So, as long as we've been in operation, we haven't been able to offer exchanges as a matter of practicality. We had nowhere to store the returned items, and we didn't carry stock or have the ability to sell those returns.
But on the other side of practicality is the reality of shopping on the internet. While we do our best to provide sizing charts and good images, shopping online has a certain amount of risk to it, and that risk centers a lot on whether or not something fits.
We are looking at instituting the following change to our return/exchange policy:
Customer's first item exchange: NerdyKeppie pays return postage on your first item exchanged, and we'll file the replacement order with our manufacturer as soon as the exchange is confirmed. You must still return the item & may be charged if it isn't returned in resaleable condition. Exchanges must be requested within 15 calendar days of item delivery.
Customer's subsequent exchanges: On subsequent items, the customer pays the return postage to NerdyKeppie, and the replacement order will be filed when the item is received in resaleable condition. Exchanges must be requested within 15 calendar days of item delivery.
1. What happens if NK gets the item back and it isn't in resaleable condition (odor, stains/wear, shoes worn outside)?
You can pay to get it back from us if you'd like, but we can't exchange what you didn't return to us in good condition. If this is your first return, and we've already shipped your replacement, you may be liable for the cost of the 2nd item.
2. Can I return things and get my money back if they don't fit?
We'll be happy to help you with an exchange to find the right fit for you.
3. Can I exchange for a different item?
We may permit this in the future if this policy works out, but we need to start with exchanging only for size so we can see if this works, first. Too many variables make it harder to assess for us.
This policy is not yet in place; we are finalizing some logistics bits. :) Once it goes live, we will announce the length of the test period as well.

Lights still on at Joann but not heat
Since I was going to Target to see if they had a hand lotion strong enough to deal with my ridiculous dry skin, I stopped at the Joann that crouches miserably at a corner of their parking lot.

While standing in the bead aisle, I decided that it's now or never on items that I'd been kind of looking at for repeated visits. By the time a hypothetical Going Out of Business sale starts in February, I'm supposed to be doing a no-buy, and stuff's on sale now anyway.
Obviously, my going hogwild for the past two-and-a-half years would not have kept Joann in business. So what've I got?
Left column are impulse purchases not on the Yearn List.
Jim Holtz papers of the rustic faded sort that I like. The patterns turn out way to big for 90% of what I do, so they may see a lot of use as fashion doll backdrops.
Paper flowers for the birdhouse community.
The rest were more-or-less planned:
Another stack of fabric that coordinates with my existing stacks, because the number of Katies and Carlas to be clothed has increased.
Purple scrapbook paper for the Bridgerton house (Arvin Lebec's dollhouse).
Beads for various dollhouse projects. I've been yearning after those brown-and-orange beads for years.
I left $50 lighter and profoundly depressed. Back around the time AC Moore closed, I'd made a Pinterest board of defunct craft chains for a friend who was into retail history, and good grief, I've shopped at about half the chains on the list. Places I rely on are being yanked away over and over and over. It's almost always because corporate leadership got greedy, piling on debt to support unrealistic or unsustainable levels of growth.

do you think sunset would prefer a binder over a bra? you kno because of the horse dysphoria and the teats so close to the face
My personal headcanon is that Sunset generally doesn't have that level of dysphoria/dysmorphia, not so much that she's totally mentally form-flexible but that her human form is initially so utterly alien it's more like she's piloting a mech meatsuit than an unconscious awareness of having a body that doesn't match up with what her mental and emotional expectation is. After a period of getting emotionally, mentally, and physically in touch and acquainted with her human body, plus given how (again, my HC) she's a girl/woman and the girls/women around her have teats on their chest that are always in a 'fully developed' state (not having to add padding to be visible even when not producing milk), she would be unlikely to have the level of dysphoria that would require a binder.
That said, if she did have dysphoria/dysmorphia to the point where she'd need to do something about it for her own psychological well-being, she'd first wind up rabbit-holing the many myriad of ways women can keep their chest flesh contained and settle on using a stay until the dysphoria got to be to much, and then she'd go the usual non-binary route of binding with an ace bandage before discovering binders. Upon researching them, she'd encounter mentions of the usual psychological pitfalls people go through and sidestep them using her intellect and just purchasing her first as soon as she was able, then dumping all her bras, corsets, stays, etc. and replacing them with binders.
Once Rarity finds out (and with her eye for fashion she WILL find out) Sunset will find herself (metaphorically) swimming in a huge variety of binders in a variety of colors, patterns, and styles (as well, perhaps, as one specifically made for swimming) and all with the purpose of being as many varieties of feminine as Sunset could imagine.
Now a GNC or transmasc Sunset would be different, but then, Sunset has access to magic and knows the theory of body transformation spell work... 😉 But that's a subject for a different ask. 😁

@marzue asked for Joey Wilson | Jericho for the knitting ask game
So for Joey I wanted to look at cowls. Cowls are a great way to protect the throat from harsh winds and cold temperatures, AND they’re one of the more popular methods for knitting designers to showcase different techniques and ideas on a smaller canvas than a sweater or blanket making them more accessible patterns for beginners!
I’m really drawing heavily on Joey’s clear inspiration from the 60s Medieval Revival and going with a more medieval storybook themed knitted cowl in the form of the Fantasy Doodle Cowl (Infinity) by Jamie Lomax. (Photo pulled from the Ravelry pattern listing)

I’m a huge fan of Jamie’s colorwork patterns which are available for purchase from PacificKnitCo. And this one really screamed Joey to me!
I’m personally quite fond of the colors Jamie picked for this, using Merino DK wool from Fangirl Fibers. You can actually purchase all of those colors in the Dragon Rider Bundle on her website! But for a Joey specific version of this pattern I might switch out the red with Passing Time from Arcane Fiberworks (which has the added bonus of being ace colors bc when I think of Joey I think of Marzue 🥰).

Excerpt from this story from Inside Climate News:
When Peter Else left the University of Arizona in 2005 to live in the San Pedro Valley full time, he planned to spend his retirement farming in one of the most ecologically intact landscapes left in southern Arizona, where the nearby river remains undammed and giant cactuses fill the space between the Galiuro and Rincon mountains.
But Else, who previously directed the Tucson Area Agricultural Centers at the University of Arizona, soon found himself in the middle of one of the most consequential debates over developing green spaces for green energy. For nearly a decade, he has been fighting the SunZia project—a transmission line connecting 3,000 megawatts of clean energy generated by wind farms in New Mexico to the power grid. The transmission line was routed largely along highways in New Mexico and Arizona but detoured into the San Pedro Valley for roughly 50 miles, cutting through a landscape that for decades avoided most of the impacts of human development. Other routes identified by developers were deemed to have greater negative impacts by federal regulators, while the company said building along existing infrastructure was too costly.
“I’ve never done anything like that before in my life,” Else said of becoming a citizen intervenor during the Arizona Corporation Commission’s (ACC) permitting process for SunZia, a role that allows citizens impacted by a project to directly participate in its permitting by providing sworn testimony and cross-examining witnesses. “I had no idea what I was getting into.”
Fifteen years since the project was first proposed and nearly a decade after state regulators began reviewing the project, Else is still involved, suing the ACC, which regulates state utilities, over its issuing of a certificate of environmental compatibility (CEC) to SunZia. The suit argues that the development has fundamentally changed since it was narrowly approved in 2016 and no longer benefits Arizona.
When SunZia was approved, the project planned to build two side-by-side power lines and connect to a planned substation in Bowie, Arizona. One of the lines built would be an alternating current line, enabling other energy projects in southern Arizona to connect to the grid, while the other would be a direct current line, which doesn’t easily allow for interconnection and is best used for sending large amounts of energy over long distances. But since Pattern Energy purchased the project in 2022, only the DC line is being built after the ACC agreed to separate the permits for both of the lines. The AC line currently lacks the funding to begin construction, and all of the project’s wind energy is slated to be sold in California, where it’s worth more.
“As a matter of law, the Commission cannot approve a CEC when on one side of the balance is zero (no Arizona purchasers) or noneconomical power, and on the other side is environmental and ecological harm,” the lawsuit reads. “This is an independent reason to remand: the Commission must require Pattern to put on evidence of actual need in Arizona.”
Else’s lawsuit is just the latest in a series of challenges facing SunZia, the biggest renewable energy project in U.S. history, despite construction on the project having already begun. Fights over the development are playing out in state and federal courts.
Transmission lines are vital to the energy grid and a major component of the transition away from fossil fuels. The lines send energy, often generated in remote places, over long distances, typically to major urban centers. But building them can be a long and tedious process, involving regulators from various states and federal agencies and the consultation and feedback of local and tribal communities, environmental groups and others.

They can be combined into a longer fic, or completely separate (see Synthesis for an example of a fic made of drabbles: https://archiveofourown.org/works/41980641) Every $5 gets you a drabble and every $20 you have the option of getting a drabble by mail! You can choose if you want a fannish card/postcard or something related to the drabble (I’m not an artist, these will be purchased cards). You can choose to get your drabbles all at once, or scattered throughout 1 year as little treats. This may be handwritten or printed, depending on how much space I have (I want to make sure it’s legible and my handwriting is not necessarily pretty). I’ll pay for postage/postcards for up to 5 mailed items. If this goes over $100 we can discuss options and on the off chance it gets farther than that, I’m capping the official number of drabbles at 30. I can also make things with any Marvel themed fabric that is available to me (Examples attached, dependent on accessible inventory). Item costs: - $5 gets a single layer, single colour cotton napkin. - $20 gets a placemat with basic patterns (primarily rectangles). - If the auction goes over $100, a $50 table runner option is unlocked (approx 24 inches wide. Length and design are flexible but in general but the longer it is the less detailed it will be. Please contact me in advance if you have specific ideas/dimensions). - If the auction goes over $200, there’s the option for more complex patterns (eg, shapes that aren’t rectangles or large triangles), double sided napkins and fabric coasters ($5). I’m setting the cap at 8 place settings plus 1 table runner, but if you’re desperate for more we can chat about balancing complexity vs volume. These will be made in a non-smoking, pet-free home. The Journey of The Tarot Haiku
VI: The Lovers - Love of Tarot
When I first jotted down my plan to make one update a day based on the Fool's Journey, I was a little unsure about what to do for The Lovers vis a vis my book project, as shown by my notebook saying "love... of Tarot?" next to it. Even as I am typing up this post, I'm not sure yet how to connect it to the book (what more is there to say beyond the fact that it is a labor of love!), but I am committed to the pattern I have chosen, so today I'll talk about my love for the Tarot, and the Tarot decks I have, since a Tarot reading and their Tarot deck(s) is sort of a love story, isn't it?
So, I really love the Tarot, it is so fascinating. The systems, the stories, the way it really captures the energy, how accurate it is when you focus on it. I said earlier that I have always loved cards and thought there was something magical about a deck of cards, each having its own unique meaning and energy. It really was made for someone like me, who keeps wanting to explore it and apply it in various ways. I have literally just published a book, the hardcover went live exactly a week ago, and already I am thinking about what might be my next Tarot-related project. It is captivating and will probably keep me busy for the years to come.
And now for my Tarot decks, of which I so far have five. For comparison, I chose the same ten cards to show off each - 0: The Fool, Ace of Cups, Four of Wands, Seven of Swords, Ten of Pentacles, XXI: The World, Page of Cups, Knight of Wands, Queen of Swords and King of Pentacles.
My first deck was The Type Tarot, and when I do readings where I have to ask the questions in English, this deck makes me feel the most confident to do so. I really love the word-heavy design and I'm so happy I started with this one.

I do have a Rider Waite deck as well, with the card names translated into Hungarian, and whenever I do quick readings for myself, I like to take it out and speak my questions in my native language.

My next deck was The Crystal Tarot illustrated by Italian artist Elisabetta Trevisan, whose artwork immediately captivated me. To this day I consider it the most beautiful Tarot Deck I have ever seen, and if I could purchase prints of the artwork for my walls, I would.

I also purchased The Sorcerer's Tarot because the fairy tale type illustrations appealed to me, and got a fun surprise when I saw just how adventurous and dare I say, saucy the deck was when I laid out all the cards. It is an absolute treat.

Last but not least, I also have been privileged to receive a Tarot deck as a gift. One of my mom's friends used to read Tarot, and when she heard I was studying it, she brought her decks over to show them to me. I looked through about a dozen decks I have never seen before, and many were beautiful and intricate, but there was only one that immediately grabbed me: Tarot de la nueva visión, which features the original Rider Waite illustrations from behind. It was such a fresh perspective that I could not stop admiring the cards, and my mom's friend kindly gifted it to me.

(One day I would love to also own The Urban Tarot, whenever I have the means.)
Needless to say, these Tarot decks helped me immensely in my studies, and they have been invaluable in my journey to write the poems for my book.

Coordinate with your squad members to maximize your advantages and secure victory.
World Setting
The Catastrophe – Triggered by a massive coronal mass ejection, the Catastrophe occurred as supercharged particle flows impacted Earth’s magnetic field. Collisions between highly active thermal mantle plumes and the crust led to earthquakes, volcanic activities, and the eruption of EIC.
EIC – Scientifically known as “Corite,” Eruptive Inorganic Carbide (EIC) emerged from geological disasters during the Revival Era. EIC manifests in towering mineral columns and hazardous mines formed by volcanic activities. With immense technological value, this enigmatic mineral possesses wide applications in the energy and tech industries, making it vital for post-Catastrophe reconstruction. However, it also poses a severe health risk and remains humanity’s greatest threat.
Epoch of Biped Strikers – After the Catastrophe, Lunarians invented bipedal machines as the primary mode of transportation. These walking vehicles were designed to navigate lunar terrain, surpassing the limitations of traditional vehicles. Eventually, they were weaponized, leading to intense conflicts among powerful mechanized soldiers called “Strikers.” These adaptable armored units replaced conventional vehicles and showcased their dominance in resource struggles. The third-generation Strikers emerged as the elite among their kind.
BREAK – “Third Generation Strikers,” often referred to as “Mind Projection Type Strikers,” use the power of the EIC supercomputer “Cubrain” to form a neural link between the human brain and the Striker unit. This concept, known as Mind Projection, is the cornerstone of their operation. BREAK Strikers take this technology a step further. By taking into account the pilot’s physiological indicators, they surpass previous synchronization constraints. This enhancement allows the Striker to deliver a significantly improved performance on the battlefield.
Moonbow – Moonbow is a powerful independent force, operating globally utilizing their airship of the same name. They deploy the formidable BREAK Strikers to address various EIC-related crises and explore the truth behind EIC.
Conflicts – Moonbow confronts persistent threats from EIC and the malice of humanity. While BREAK Strikers are more than mere weapons, they often become a necessary means while facing unavoidable conflicts.
Marcens Pandemic – The Catastrophe released EIC debris, contaminating the Earth’s atmosphere. High EIC concentrations result in plant mineralization and the fatal Marcens Disease in animals. Regions and cities transform into lifeless “Marcens Zones” through high-purity secondary Corite crystallization. Today, these zones rapidly expand via deadly EIC Pulse Storms, while humanity remains oblivious to EIC. Is EIC a natural disaster or something more sinister?
New Terrain – The Catastrophe shifted Earth’s tectonic plates, altering its landscape. New rifts and straits were formed, while mountains rose and landforms crumbled. Islands were engulfed, and volcanoes emerged, inflicting immense devastation upon both ecosystems and societies.
New Paradigm – As a response to Corite pollution, cooperation gradually became crucial, leading to the emergence of the Culturia Alliance, the Cygnia Union, and the Thalassic Federation. Meanwhile, the Lunarians proclaimed their independence under the name of the Commonwealth of Lunar-mare amidst the chaos.
New Conquest – EIC is an indispensable resource for science and commerce. Various factions are congregating at the largest Mercens Zone, Mashmak, preparing for an intense upheaval. The Catastrophe reshaped landscapes and disrupted the global order. Amidst recovery and Corite pollution, the Vulturia Alliance, Cygnia Union, Thalassic Federation, and Commonwealth of Lunar-mare emerged. Despite risks, these factions vied for self-interests. A storm is brewing in the largest Marcens Zone, Mashmak.
