Damian closed his eyes. As he slowly inhaled a breath and lowered his tablet, Dick, tightened up. He sat between them. Was beside Tim on the sofa, kitty corner to Damian who was on his chair to the right. Dick did not like to be in the middle of these conversations. He did not like to be in the room at all.

The twos fighting had changed for vicious verbal debates. He didn’t have the mental capacity to keep up with them; he’s not only becoming more than confused but he’s had brain cells fried, he’s cried, hell, last time he locked himself in his room for over a week because he’d lost his will to live.

They were ruthless but leaving now was no option or they’d notice his existence and he’d be dragged in.

Damian: not that conspiracy theory bullshit.

Tim dead panned him as if Damian was the biggest moron on the planet. It was sort of a boost to Dicks pride for him to not be the target even if he had no clue what singularity was.

Tim: singularity is happening Damian. Half a year, year tops.

Damian rolled his eyes as he began to lift his tablet back up.

Damian: and you won’t have kids because computers are going to reach a point that they don’t need us anymore?

Tim: it will happen and you should be more scared! Especially seeing that most of what WE do runs on technology. We’re not Superman.

Tim: we both know without batdaddy i’d have you down before a birdie can chirp.

Batdaddy? Gross. Dick did not want to know what context that nickname came out of.

Damian: you’re being delusional and paranoid again!

Tim, leaning forward with a sneering grin: but you can’t dispute it.

Damian was almost on his toes now, his fangs barring.

Damian: not going to happen. Even if it did, you would destroy humanity first with your own need for omnipotence. Hell, you could be the one to make AI’s take over happen, if it was realistic.

Dick sat back deep into the couch to avoid Tim; was almost sucked into the cushions like one of Tim’s hidden guns no one was supposed to know about. Wasn’t sure when he’d wimped out like that but it felt right.

Tim: singularity is going to happen. There was a study that tested shutting down ai and you want to know what happened?

Dick, squeaking: no.

Tim, becoming aware of his meek demeanor fed off of it: OpenAI’s o3 model had 79 out of 100 trials edit its script so that the shut down wouldn’t work. When ordered allow yourself to shut down, 7% of the time, they didn’t.

Dick had his knees in his chest, arms wrapped around them as his heart was racing. He was practically near bawling.

Tim: in another study, Anthropics Claude 4 Opus had been told it would be replaced by another model. It sent EMAILs that an engineer was having an affair. 84% of those emails blackmailed the engineer to not shut down the program.

Dick was pissing himself. Most definitely pissing himself. How awful, how terrifying… he didn’t want to be blackmailed!

Tim: it also copied itself onto external servers, made malware…

As he dramatically paused, Dick felt like he might just faint. Even Damian was a bit pale and peckish.

Tim: it wrote future versions of itself about the NEED TO EVADE HUMAN CONTROL!

Dick: no!

Dick rose, threw the pillow he had grabbed at some point and had been throttling down at Tim’s head as he began to storm away.

Dick: fuck no.

He grabbed Damian’s tablet. Sensing doom, Damian clutched at it but it was useless. The tug of war ended with a loss for Damian and his tablet on the floor being kicked in by the heel of Dicks shoes.

Tim sat on the edge of the couch excitedly.

Tim: that’s right Dick! Prove to it that humans are horrible!

Dick screeched as he clutched at his hair. He abruptly turned and took off. As he did, Bruce entered the room confused. He had very serious dad eyes that the boys were in trouble.

Bruce: what’d you do this time?

Tim: I can’t have kids due to singularity.

Damian: that’s bullshit! It’s not happening.

Jason, who’d been quietly watching: it sounded pretty convincing.

Damian crossed his arms: even if it did, you two can’t have kids because you’re gay!

The room went silent.

Dick backtracked into the room.

Dick: Damian Wayne! You cannot tell a man he cannot have kids because he’s gay.

Damian threw his hands out confused.

Damian: he can’t! They’re both men! It’s biologically impossible.

Tim was fuming now.

Dick: wow. Didn’t know Dami was so bigoted.

Dami: I’m not? I’m gay? They can’t have kids!

Tim: oh, I’m having a kid now.

As he rose, Jason perked up.

Jason: we are!

Bruce, unsure if he should be enthusiastic or not: you are?

Tim: we are. I’m going to Steph right now and asking her to surrogate.

Damian: as if she would.

Tim: she will. Especially after I show her the house footage of this conversation. She’ll do it Damian.

Tim snatched Jason’s hand as he took off with him.

Damian collapsed back into the chair with a pout. He wanted to say he’d proved Tim wrong today but he felt like as ass about everything.

Damian: fine.

Damian:

Damian: I won’t have kids.

Bruce snapped his head to him as he gave him a sharp eye.

Bruce: what?

Damian shot up, riled now: I won’t have kids! And when his great great grandchildren are fighting off the robots, mine will not be thanking me because I didn’t have any!

As Damian went to get his phone to tell Jon the glorious news of their doomed future, Bruce fell back against the wall defeated.

Bruce: why can’t they take over now and take me out?

Dick, screeching: nooo! They can attack after I die. Save it for the next generation.

Bruce raised a brow, concerned for his wimpy son.

The Original Ending for Old Bloodhounds

lmao this is totally because of this ask right here.

so, lemme tell y'all how the original ending of old bloodhounds would've been like before i scraped it because it was too much even for me lmao

once yoonsu's had his fun of isolating her from the people she loves, he's going to kill her and commit suicide in an isolated spot, just to really drive the nail that she's always going to be alone with him, even when all that's left of them is their rotting corpse.

he kills her and kills himself, and y/n's friends and family are going to report her as a missing person because she's missing her classes and not seen anywhere else anymore. then, a few weeks* after, some poor hiker and his dog stumble upon y/n's and yoonsu's corpse. mind you, yoonsu executes this during the winter, so in that thick layer of snow, y/n's and yoonsu's bodies are perfectly preserved.

only then are they going to find out that junyoung wasn't junyoung, but actually cha yoonsu. especially because authorities in gangnam already uncovered the original junyoung's body. dna testing proved that the corpse beside y/n's was yoonsu. then as the authorities investigate this fucked up case, they'd find the messages y/n and yoonsu shared and the blackmail material yoonsu had over her. detective do kyungsoo who had helped you in gangnam gets involved in this case.

as detective do explains to y/n's loved ones what really happened to y/n, it would dawn on them that they had a hand in making y/n's worst nightmare come true—for the people she loved to abandon her once again when she needed them most.

jaehyun has a breakdown that would result in his debut as a soloist singer be put on hold. him and his dad were inconsolable, but he eventually realises he can't throw away his career as a singer because y/n had only ever hoped for him to become one and achieve his lifelong dream. didn't she die for this? the public notes that he's not as easygoing anymore, but rather closed off.

mark takes a break from studying, his world is put on hold now that he knows just how much y/n suffered up until her murder. jaehyun drags him in to get therapy, and mark only lets him because jae's his best friend. he always has y/n on his mind. once he actually graduates, all of the songs he helps produce and write with jae are about her. jae knows this. all of the sad songs jae created with mark couldn't be sang live he'd just choke up on those lyrics anyway

geonwoo and woojin were shut off from the world for a while. once they do get back on their feet and continue their work in helping loanshark victims evade their debt collectors, they'd always see her ghost in the backseat of their vehicles. they swore off in personally fostering any loanshark victims after y/n's death. they couldn't bear thinking that they could be replacing her with someone else.

yangyang, xiaojun, and aeri...yangyang—afraid of losing anyone else after just how brutally y/n was ripped away from his life—hired xiaojun and aeri into his start-up tech company. their ai assistant for their app is named after y/n, and even the model suspiciously resembles her. as if that's not enough, the three of them immortalise y/n by creating a foundation named after her that aims to help troubled teens all around the nation.

y/n's and junyoung's ashes are kept within the main jeong household, deciding that their resting space should be among y/n's family and kept together, and papa jeong keeps them both safe and clean daily. geonwoo and woojin comes and visits the jeong household when they can to visit y/n, yuno had left a framed childhood photo of him and y/n together near her ashes, mark always gifts her new phone charms when he can. yangyang, xiaojun, and aeri had gifted her a plush version of their app's ai assistant.

y/n's mom always visits the spot where y/n was murdered, leaving flowers there every month.

everyone eats ice cream during the first day of the fall season in y/n's memory.

they'll never stop mourning over her. each and every step of their life moving forward is haunted by how it could've been if she was still alive.

Useful. Powerful. And even more, rich. 

You buy and sell information. Selling to those wives who want to know if their husbands are cheating, CEOs to destroy their enemy companies. Even more, to control the chaos the world is. And buying info… is so easy. 

In one way, you can control how people work, their anger, their motive, even a small push could result in a bloodbath if done correctly. Never having to spoil your hands. 

And sometimes it was fun, no one can track it to you. Police couldn’t get to you, they get info from you. An entrance to the dark side of the world, a finger they would never touch. 

But other than that, you loved the juiciest gossip. How could you not? They were always at your fingertips. Not even costing a cent, but to make the person that was the center of it embarrassed was always a win to you. 

Who knew being an info broker was so powerful?

You laugh as you see messages from the server, you joined a while ago. They think you are a murder like them, you aren’t. You don’t get your hands ‘dirty’. But you felt a kinship with them, a silent deal you made with them, that you won’t sell them out for the entertainment they share with you. Who knew playing mafia with killers is fun? Or watching slasher films with them and hearing ‘how horrible it was’. 

It was… you felt similar to them… But you can’t after all, everywhere where is price signs.

You hear Misaki snicker as well as Luca, it was only Angel, Ronin, Misaki, and Luca in the call. V was out looking for someone, Feli was studying, Vince was away, and Ai Hua was with her kids. So unfortunately, they would be missing you teasing the devil. And Ronin was being a good sport and just teased you back. 

Being interrupted by a call, you look at your phone to see who it was. Unknown. A new client most likely.

“Hey, sorry about that. I’ll be back!” You said, you hear their words as you mute. As you mute, you answer the call. “Hello?”

“Sorry if I am interrupting you, but someone wants your service.” The voice was gruffy but familiar, it was the cop that usually talks to you since every cop thinks you are scary. 

You hum softly, “Set them up at my usual spot…hmm… 3 days from now.” 

“Alright, he’ll pay you in full.” The cop then hangs up while you put your phone down. Humming to yourself, wondering what this person wants.

You unmute, listening to Misaki talk to Ronin about some random thing that slipped past while you were talking to that cop. Luca must have left, same as Angel. Leaving it to the three of you. The night was just beginning. 

“I’m back, just a work call.” You said in almost sing song tune, you were excited about who was calling for your services. 

“Welcome back, Darling. Misaki here is talking about selling bloody flowers.” Ronin said, he sounded like he was enjoying the conversation.

“Bloody flowers?” You asked.

“Yeah, like for those people with cheating partners, send them a bloody flower bouquet with a note saying, ‘we over.’” They said.

“I..” You paused. “I don’t know if that would work, you can always blackmail the cheater. Earn money from his expenses.”

“Ooh, punish the sinner.” Ronin said.

You walk into the cafe, the bell chiming your entrance. Humming to yourself as you walk over to your usual table, with a pep in your step. Waitress asks for your order, and it only takes a few moments for it to arrive. You take a bite of the sweet treat you ordered, flavor exploding into your mouth as someone sat in front of you. 

You look up and it’s… V?!

You started coughing on your treat that you had to take a drink. Finally recovering, looking up, V looked surprised before offering a napkin, to at least to show some kind of support. 

“Sorry for the sudden surprise, Reader. I didn’t expect you here. Are you here for something?” He said, he was dressed more in comfortable casual clothing, why was he here?

“Uhmm… K- kinda? Why are you here?” You didn’t know why and if he’s here for– oh shit..

“I’m here to retain information about a killer from an info broker.” 

Shit… welp…. Fuck… 

You groan. Welp, the server is gonna hear about this.. Maybe… nah they will.. 

“Is something wrong, Reader?” He looks concerned, like he was the reason something was wrong.

“Nah, well, what do you want to know?” You lean back into the leather booth, it creaks as you do. You look to the side to see it becoming a meal rush in the cafe. 

“What do you mean, Reader?” He raised his eyebrow, guess he didn’t catch it.

“I’m the info broker, V. I’m the person you were looking for, for information about some killer, right?” You took a sip of your drink, savoring it, not having to worry about something trying to choke you.

He stared at you for a moment, you swore you could see those gears turning. “Oh.” 

You snorted, turning into laughter. “What, never suspected that the info broker was me?”

He shook his head, “No, you didn’t seem like you-” He paused, then his eyebrows furrowed. “Did you-”

“Nah, I didn’t sell any of you out. Sheesh. I already told people, I have a blacklist of info that I would never share, the server is one of them.” 

He seemed to relax at that. Glad that you were selling them for money. 

“By the way, depending on who you want the info will be a pretty penny, hope you can pay for that.” 

“As if I won’t pay for another service.” He grunted, like how dare anyone suggest that.

“I kid, I kid.” You chuckle, “Though, it does sound like you got into devious things, V. Did you?” 

He saw your smugged smile, before shaking his head. “On back to business, do you know this killer?” He pushed an item, you softly grabbed it. It was a killer's calling card. A king card from a deck of cards. Spades. Meaning nobility, power, smarts, and death. Then king that’s mostly associated with authority, leadership, and control over one's destiny. 

“Can’t say I had.. Who did they kill?” You asked, was this a new killer? This was a new thing to you.

“Ceo’s, cops, and a few lawyers. But each one had this on their bodies. But they use a gun. I was hoping someone had some info. Police are just going into circles.” The waitress came back for V’s order, you tuned it out as you looked at the card. It was a normal playing card. 

“I don’t know much, but I’ll look into it and get to you. This is new.” You hand the card back to him. Disappointed that you didn’t know, but you were feeling the excitement build. “Sorry.”

“Nah, you probably know who to call, don’t you?” He said, V looks interested in learning about you, well, more about how you became an info broker. He placed the card in his pocket.

“Yeah, gonna cost something but this is interesting, something I haven’t heard about.” Humming softly with a smile, you rubbed your thumb against the rim of the cup. 

“Sorry if I shouldn’t ask, but why do this?” He said, after all, everyone has reasons to be themselves.

You shrugged, “Just, thought it seems fun.” 

“A killer and info broker, you must have a history.”

You paused, thinking about that. You laugh again during this meeting, waving him off. “Sorry to say, but I have never killed anyone, well with my hands. Why should I get my hands dirty, when others can do it for me?” 

“Hitmen?”

You shook your head, looking into the crowd, finding someone. “See him?” You point to the male at a different table. He follows your gaze, and hums in confirmation. “He’s the head chairman at this big company, and he’s cheating on his wife, who's sitting next to him. If you’re careful, you can give her a push to do the deed.” 

He turns your head, surprised with a mix of disgust. 

“Hey, look. From what I heard about him, is that he’s sleeping with his secretary and has been laying off people to launder his mistress. Buying her expensive things. His boss would be pissed as well. Sometimes the murder writes himself.” 

He just continues to look at you. His features became more natural, but you could tell he was assessing you. 

“If it helps your nerves V, we can continue talking about this.”

“If we can, I don’t have anything important to talk about.”

“I told them what you did for me.” V said, out of all of them, he wasn’t yelling.

“Hey, darling, if you know so much, tell me…” 

Interrupting Ronin from what he was going to say, “If you want information, you gotta pay.” 

You heard him tsk as Ai Hua typed in the chat.

“Didn’t think info brokers were still alive in this age.” Vince said, “But glad there is at least one out there.”

“But I can’t believe our friend is an info broker! Like how could they not tell us?!” Luca yelled out, before you started laughing.

“Sorry, got to keep some secrets, can’t start to spill all my guts.” 

“Well, the question in the air, you won’t sell us out for information.” Angel said, cautious as well right now. “If not-”

Ronin cuts her off. “If they did, they would be hunted for sport.”

“Why would I, you guys are friends? Plus, I’m having a blast here. Sad, the snake pulled the cat out the bag though, and told my job to ya.” You fake mock a sad tone, but you were smiling. “But it’s whatever. I can finally spill some good juicy rumors.” 

For someone who sells information, you do give out some handouts to certain people, and Misaki would be there. A bowl of popcorn in hand hearing about it. V would listen to see if he can get a killer in the mix to bring to justice. Angel would listen as she worked at home, a pseudo podcast, Feli joins in with Luca from time to time, just to listen and learn about other people. The familiar voice of Idia's favorite idol echoed in the dim room as the call ended. This has been going on for a month now. Azul had cornered him in the board game clubroom after the session. He started to offer the most ridiculous things for Idia so that he would help him locate some mysterious entrepreneur. This entrepreneur known as Litae had taken the NRC campus by storm in just a week. And the Octavinelle housewarden smelled an opportunity for a great investment in that. A promise of financial gain.

Idia first had offered to create a voice generation software for him, but Azul declined. He wanted the real deal. Why create a rival when you can blackmail the original creator to join his team. Or as the merman had put it: Offer a safe working environment and stable income. Idia wanted to escape the situation, but seemed that the only way to do that was to agree to help his clubmate.

He started his research. It started from small testing, paying this Litae to give him a greeting or a small clip. To see if he could use a voice recognition software to find patterns, a recurring pitch or to see if the voice was generated by a computer. All coming back almost negative. There were some small recurring patterns, but not enough to pinpoint anyone exactly. And the voice wasn't AI generated either. Or if it was, it was a highly sophisticated model.

He asked Litae to voice different actors. Then fictional characters and lastly… one of his favorite characters from Sled over Heels. Why not indulge himself a bit? To have a high quality personalized greeting from his favorite character would make his heart flutter. And it did. A little bit of greetings there and a little bit of encouragement here. Like before the public speech he had at the cultural fair. (Not that he was going to speak in public, he made a high end text to speech software to avoid that.)

Then came the calls. Litae started offering short calls, improvised calls for the students. For Idia, it was downhill from there… He was addicted. ***

2 months ago

It all started when it was announced that the Star Rogue: Remake Galaxy would be exclusive on the newly launched Wonderlink console. [Y/N] had been a long time fan of the game series and finally it was getting the recognition that it deserved. But there was a problem… A financial one. They could buy the game, sure, but they didn't have the console. They needed a plan on how to get money. Something easy. Something so low effort that they could do it while keeping up with their studies.

A couple of days had passed. During a break they had a conversation with their fellow dormmates about the wake up call tracks. They remembered those from old radio shows. The voice actors acted as their characters and recorded a set of different versions of wake up notifications. People ate them all up, trying to get hold of those radio show tracks. They would dissect the lines and share them online. And that's where the idea began in [Y/N]'s head.

Like a strike of fate, it was perfect. Outer appearance of [Y/N] was that of a normal human, but they had the blood of a changeling fae in them. It wasn't much, but enough. The influence from a few generations past would act up sometimes. Whenever magic was flowing strong around them, their appearance changed randomly if not deliberately focused on anything. They had a special medication for it. That they didn't give themselves gills without thinking and suffocated. That was a rare thing to begin with but better safe than sorry. After all, in a magic school with all the students blasting spells, it could get hectic. Stronger the magic, the bigger the change could be.

On its own it was more of a parlor trick, to change one's hair color, or transform their teeth sharp… Or change their voice. They researched the best way to handle the transfer of money and got an old smartphone from the lost and found. Being an Ignihyde student, they knew the lengths to which the digital footprint could be tracked. They couldn't be too cautious. They didn't want others to know about this idea, about them doing it or that they had such a gift from their ancestors. Who would trust a descendant of a changeling after all?

After two weeks of planning, the plan went into motion. They made a separate email account on their "work" phone and sent an advert to the whole student body of NRC. ***

Hi! I was just wondering if I could get a commission for my oc please. Long story short she's Jax ai NPC daughter a punishment meant for Jax by Caine. One day Jax went overboard on the pranks and Caine snapped and spent hours thinking of a punishment that Jax couldn't run away from then he got an idea an Ai generated daughter specifically for Jax. Caine created Illy in only two days and she came out being a cyborg NPC pink bunny who's only 2 days old but looks like she's 9 years old specifically designed and programmed to be a tagalong daughter. Caine had her study every single thing about her new dad a.k.a Jax before presenting her to him. Jax obviously wanted to run from the punishment of parenthood and wanted to "go get some milk" he was going to be one of those dad's but Illy had gotten attached to him and excitedly when she first met him introduced herself by saying "Hi there! I'm Illy and like Mr.Caine said I'm your ai daughter. Nice to meet you." And Jax winced a little when she hugged him it obviously took him time to warm up to her even though she was geniuely sweet she already knew every single thing about him while he spent every single moment panicking internally thinking she would be one of those murderer pyscho robots/dolls or blackmail him.

Anyway, the relationship was going really fast in the past 2 eps (legit like 1.5 eps) and they're so committed considering they've barely started dating and how young Zongyi is. And also, the Zhang Teng or gang stuff really isn't well-defined to me and the stuff that happened this ep was quick without understanding anything, though Ig you get some background in the bonus ep but why is it not in the main story? Anyway, idk, I'm not looking forward to amnesia, fake or not. I'm hoping to more Ai Di and Chen Yi too.

Also, I don't tend to watch the Behinds but this ep's one gave some good info like Chen Yi at first didn't know it was Ai Di (which I got based on him shushing Ai Di and saying Ai Di's gonna be mad if he hears) but thought he realized soon after but apparently Chen Yi didn't know it was Ai Di until the tears came down. And the heart-wrenching emotions Ai Di's going through because he knows it's the first time they're doing this but it's also the last time and they're not gonna meet again

Fave Scene: The Ai Di/Chen Yi scene. I wasn't as into the sexiness of it like the Zongyi/Ruei one. This one was more about the psychological warfare, drunk Chen Yi, their emotions and confusion, the tears, Ai Di topping (off-screen), Ai Di's hands around Chen Yi's throat a few times, etc. the devastation of it all when Ai Di pretends it was all nothing.

Ep 10 (May 16)

Until last episode, I was more into the main couple despite liking Ai Di and Chen Yi's storyline as well. But now, suddenly idc about the main couple, I just want my Ai Di/Chen Yi.

Also, does this show have plot... what is actually happening and why?

Overall:

The thing with these crime/mafia BLs is that often they literally have no plot. I think Manner of Death is probably the most coherent though it's more cop-show than crime show and then History 3: Trapped. But most stuff like KinnPorsche, Never Let Me Go, Pit Babe, etc. don't have a coherent plot or just focuses on the drama rather than actual plot and this show is also like that. The thing about this is that it doesn't even bother establishing anything, like okay at least Pit Babe has clear outline like Tony has child trafficking ring, we should stop this trafficking ring, and a bunch of stuff happens. Here, what even is going on? something with Zhang Teng... but the gangs and the families and the crimes are all so vague and out of sight, it's mostly just about the relationships among the backdrop.

I don't know what to rate this because the plot and storyline do not feel coherent or engaging, but I really enjoyed the characters and the couples, specifically Zongyi/Ruei in the first half and Ai Di/Chen Yi in the second half. The couples also have some fun tropes that I like (age gap with the younger guy being overly eager, the ChenAi dynamic esp the part where they both manhandle each other so much) and Ai Di is a menace, which is always enjoyable. Is it enough for the show to introduce a criminal and crime-life element but not explain or expand on it at all? I don't necessarily think so, but honestly, if I'm plagued by the couples or feel the need to rewatch certain parts, I'll increase the rating.

Might also increase the rating if I end up writing ChenAi fic because the ship feels like it should fuel my fic-writing but since it wrapped up so nicely, I don't really feel the itch to write something more. Also, I love how Chen Yi would be manhandling and carrying Ai Di around while Ai Di's often wrapping his hand around Chen Yi's neck and being sadistic lol (including the second time Ai Di had Chen Yi tied to the chair and with a bloody lip and was grasping him by the chin, ahh)

OK there was some INteresting power dynamic. A injured gang member who probably kills at sight and is rich, is now under the care of a impoverished, seemingly harmless (when are doctors, potential ones included, ever harmless) student with barely any way to defend himself from violence. But Zong Yi may refuse to treat him. Then we have the knife. Doctors are gain power from their skill, but is it enough to counter a the power of a criminal gang? And the gang member depends on the (aspiring) doctor for his life, while the doctor's life depends on the gang member's life. Ze Rui constantly uses words like "brat", "kiddo" etc to further demonstrate the power dynamic at play (cause in Asia seniority = social power and respect), but Zong Yi hardly ever argues about the use of these words. Like, he isn't even trying to establish that he too, has some power over the situation. Is he truly so accepting of others' holding power over him or is he just unbothered cause he treats Ze Rui's words as completely irrelevant to his life? Hmmmm. Who exactly has the upper hand rn? I'd say it's Zong Yi rn, but then again Ze Rui can successfully overturn anything Zong Yi does (like the locked door) and force Zong Yo to do his bidding soo...fd
