What if AI could make decisions on your behalf—without you lifting a finger? That’s no longer a sci-fi fantasy. It’s the growing reality with Agentic AI, a powerful new wave of artificial intelligence that operates independently, predicts outcomes, and executes actions without waiting for human input.
Unlike traditional AI that responds to commands, Agentic AI thinks, plans, and acts—much like a human agent. It can analyze objectives, develop strategies, and achieve goals in real-time, making it one of the most transformative technologies of our time.
Why It Matters
Agentic AI is gaining momentum because of its disruptive potential across major industries:
In healthcare, it helps doctors by autonomously analyzing patient data and recommending treatments.
In finance, it manages portfolios, detects fraud, and makes critical investment decisions.
In e-commerce, it predicts customer behavior and personalizes experiences on the fly.
In manufacturing, it drives predictive maintenance and smart automation.
In legal and compliance, it reviews documents and flags regulatory issues with minimal oversight.
With these applications, businesses are no longer just optimizing—they’re evolving entire strategies with AI at the center.

AI Ethics in Hiring: Safeguarding Human Rights in Recruitment
Explore AI ethics in hiring and how it safeguards human rights in recruitment. Learn about AI bias, transparency, privacy concerns, and ethical practices to ensure fairness in AI-driven hiring.
Tumblr media
In today's rapidly evolving job market, artificial intelligence (AI) has become a pivotal tool in streamlining recruitment processes. While AI offers efficiency and scalability, it also raises significant ethical concerns, particularly regarding human rights. Ensuring that AI-driven hiring practices uphold principles such as fairness, transparency, and accountability is crucial to prevent discrimination and bias.Hirebee
The Rise of AI in Recruitment
Employers are increasingly integrating AI technologies to manage tasks like resume screening, candidate assessments, and even conducting initial interviews. These systems can process vast amounts of data swiftly, identifying patterns that might be overlooked by human recruiters. However, the reliance on AI also introduces challenges, especially when these systems inadvertently perpetuate existing biases present in historical hiring data. For instance, if past recruitment practices favored certain demographics, an AI system trained on this data might continue to favor these groups, leading to unfair outcomes.
Ethical Concerns in AI-Driven Hiring
Bias and Discrimination AI systems learn from historical data, which may contain inherent biases. If not properly addressed, these biases can lead to discriminatory practices, affecting candidates based on gender, race, or other protected characteristics. A notable example is Amazon's AI recruitment tool, which was found to favor male candidates due to biased training data.
Lack of Transparency Many AI algorithms operate as "black boxes," providing little insight into their decision-making processes. This opacity makes it challenging to identify and correct biases, undermining trust in AI-driven recruitment. Transparency is essential to ensure that candidates understand how decisions are made and to hold organizations accountable.
Privacy Concerns AI recruitment tools often require access to extensive personal data. Ensuring that this data is handled responsibly, with candidates' consent and in compliance with privacy regulations, is paramount. Organizations must be transparent about data usage and implement robust security measures to protect candidate information.
Implementing Ethical AI Practices
To address these ethical challenges, organizations should adopt the following strategies:
Regular Audits and Monitoring Conducting regular audits of AI systems helps identify and mitigate biases. Continuous monitoring ensures that the AI operates fairly and aligns with ethical standards. Hirebee+1Recruitics Blog+1Recruitics Blog
Human Oversight While AI can enhance efficiency, human involvement remains crucial. Recruiters should oversee AI-driven processes, ensuring that final hiring decisions consider context and nuance that AI might overlook. WSJ+4Missouri Bar News+4SpringerLink+4
Developing Ethical Guidelines Establishing clear ethical guidelines for AI use in recruitment promotes consistency and accountability. These guidelines should emphasize fairness, transparency, and respect for candidate privacy. Recruitics Blog
Conclusion
Integrating AI into recruitment offers significant benefits but also poses ethical challenges that must be addressed to safeguard human rights. By implementing responsible AI practices, organizations can enhance their hiring processes while ensuring fairness and transparency. As AI continues to evolve, maintaining a human-centered approach will be essential in building trust and promoting equitable opportunities for all candidates.

What measures can organizations take to ensure ethical AI use in hiring? Organizations can conduct regular audits, involve human oversight, and establish clear ethical guidelines to promote fair and responsible AI use in recruitment.
How does AI impact candidate privacy in the recruitment process? AI systems often require access to personal data, raising concerns about data security and consent. Organizations must be transparent about data usage and implement robust privacy protections.
Can AI completely replace human recruiters? While AI can enhance efficiency, human recruiters are essential for interpreting nuanced information and making context-driven decisions that AI may not fully grasp.
What is the role of regular audits in AI recruitment? Regular audits help identify and mitigate biases within AI systems, ensuring that the recruitment process remains fair and aligned with ethical standards.
How can candidates ensure they are treated fairly by AI recruitment tools? Candidates can inquire about the use of AI in the hiring process and seek transparency regarding how their data is used and how decisions are made.
What are the potential legal implications of unethical AI use in hiring? Unethical AI practices can lead to legal challenges related to discrimination, privacy violations, and non-compliance with employment laws.
How can organizations balance AI efficiency with ethical considerations in recruitment? Organizations can balance efficiency and ethics by integrating AI tools with human oversight, ensuring transparency, and adhering to established ethical guidelines.

Sinister Intent
Sinister Mark/Reader | Interactive Fic
Dead Dove Do Not Eat
Warnings: Hyperviolent Non-con, extreme gore, carrying Sinister Mark's child
When the GDA released you from your prison sentence to fight in the Invincible war, you thought you were home free, you could escape. But when Sinister Mark recognizes you as this world's variant of his lost love he decides that he has to have you, whether you want it or not.
Tumblr media
You never thought you'd live to see the day that the GDA let you go free, after all the horrific experiments they put you through. You were in their damned prison for five long years after you murdered your abusive father—chopped the bastard into little bits and set the family home on fire to burn him beyond the point where his regenerative powers could've saved him.
You had to do it. If you hadn't made damn sure he was dead, he would've came after you for revenge.
But no, Cecil Stedman really did let you back out into the free world… the only catch being that you have to help fight against a group of evil multiversal variants of your childhood best friend… not weird at all… Right.
A lot had changed while you were on the inside. Turns out, Mark is half… Viltrumite?—at least you think that's what Cecil said when he caught you up to speed on your way out of the facility.
Anyway, it turns out that Omniman is an ultra-powerful space alien bent on conquering Earth for his fascist space warrior empire.
It feels like a stark contrast from the Nolan you remember from childhood. He was reserved, but always nice to you when you came over to visit Mark… though, your family had its own secrets.
As you walk through the ruins of Chicago, watching the flying heroes battle variants of Mark overhead, you come to the realization that you can just leave if you want. No one would bother stopping you.
Your odds of survival are strong, even if you do end up in a fight with one of Mark's variants, thanks to your regeneration.
But the idea of being forced back into that GDA prison after the Invincible war is dealt with scares you more than the variant Marks do.
You don't trust Cecil to hold up his end of the bargain. Not one bit.
So you slink through broken alleyways, making your way far away from anyone else… until you're stopped in your tracks by a very familiar voice.
Mark's voice.
Cautiously, you turn to face him, but his malicious grin and that black and yellow version of the Invincible costume make it all too clear that this is not your Mark.
"Well, look what we have here…" He really does sound just like him… except for the sinister edge that sets him apart from the boy you once called a friend. "Long time no see."
🖤 🩸 Continue the Story on Glimmer 🩸 🖤
#Sinister Mark#Sinister Mark/Reader#sinister mark x reader#sinister mark x you#variant mark grayson#variant mark grayson x you#glimmerfic#glimmerfics#THIS FIC IS INCREDIBLY DARK. EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN. DO NOT READ IF YOU AREN'T LOOKING FOR HORROR SMUT/ROMANCE#This fic is in NO way intended to be a healthy relationship dynamic. Sinister Mark is obsessive possessive and downright cruel at times.#I did NOT skimp on the gore#This one is for the true gorewhores#Reader!MC has an established backstory and is NOT of a healthy mind herself#I warned for Non-con but you absolutely CAN match Sinister Mark's freak and make it consensual without breaking immersion#But be warned the more you match his freak the gorier the story will get#This is a long-fic with four sizeable episodes out right now. I have one more main episode planned and then-#-There will be a playable prologue when Glimmer drops the branching first turn feature; to explore the MC's final decision#If you're unfamiliar with Glimmer; it uses AI to take the choices the player picks and continue the story in context of that based on scene#-scenes that the author writes. Author has to input a LOT of detail to make a good story. It's not just regurgitated AI slop.#Glimmer's 'Storyteller' AI just integrates Player choice into the story that the author wrote#There are pre-written choices the player can choose or you can write your own custom choices. I recommend custom.#sinister invincible#sinister invincible x reader#sinister invincible x you

As for Bangkok Boy ep 2, I think I liked it even better than the first ep - precisely because it was still all backstory and zero romance (essentially because the leads still haven't met but that seems to finally change next week and oh boy, Sun looks smitten already).
I think ultimately I like BLs best when the romance seems almost accidental, and ends up not as the body of the story but instead as its heart.
Is the story cheesy and overdramatic and overdone? Sure. But I think that's the whole point. And ultimately, the beauty of Thai BL becoming more mainstream (or, as all the advertising and funding proves, indeed more of a soft power) is that there's enough room for there to be core romance along with other genres where the BL element is just another puzzle piece of the narrative.
Plus, if gagaoolala puts something in their BL/Yaoi bracket then that's all the confirmation I need. It didn't bother me with Shadow and it doesn't bother me now.
That being said, I need to know if Kawin (aka Top Piyawat's character) is ok in prison. Is he eating elright? Is his hair still all soft and shiny? 🙏

a no-beef-to-anyone-who-does-this-it-just-bothers-me thing:
dear people making dating sims or romance stories and whatnot, i get why you do this and why this is an attractive plot device, but if you have a character where the premise is "they come to life and sapience suddenly/have a burgeoning consciousness, and the MC is the first person they see, and they are going to be a/the MC's Major Romantic Interest pretty much immediately, I am going to be questioning the ethics of this whole shebang all of a sudden and I will not be paying attention to the romance plot at all, sorry"
with an additional "this is even weirder and worse if the MC has an implicit position of power or authority over them, usually represented by the MC being more worldly and responsible for teaching them about the nuances of life, it feels really bizarre"

You know, when the Dune books were originally written, the Butlerian Jihad against computers wasn’t about a rogue AI. It was about how the people had become so reliant on computers to think for them that the people who programmed the AIs were able to dominate humanity.

Original skull of a Mycenaean woman around her 30's (note most of the front face and jaw missing and thus the highly speculative nature of any reconstruction)
Tumblr media
Original reconstruction (1995), based on the skull and on the woman's relatives to fill in the missing gaps. (Original article: https://www.jstor.org/stable/30104516)
Tumblr media
Digital "reconstruction" (AI) based on the 1995 reconstruction. The woman in her 30's now looks 14, has lost all semblance of the skull shape (one of the only things we can know for sure) and in general looks nothing like it.
The historian who comissioned this had this to say: "Meanwhile artwork that gives us depictions of women in the ancient world is by men & for the male gaze, depicting stereotyped (and almost always fantasy) women."
And what is this if not a fantasy and unrealistic depiction of a woman? There's literally no facial features to work with and yet the end result satisfies the beauty standards in the bias present in genAI. This is a "reconstruction" that feels synthetic and fake (because it is), and it spits in the face of art, the scientific discipline of facial reconstruction and serves only as a way to show the author and "artist"'s biases
