Y'know I had a theory about Varric before the reveal.

Because even from the beginning, him getting stabbed with the dagger specifically... was weird. I kept thinking about the dagger still glowing while lodged in his chest, how that dagger was used for Solas' big ol' ritual so there had to be a lot of power in it when he stabbed him... but somehow Varric survived.

That should've killed him [and it did! but shhhh-] but I wake up, and there he is.

Alright. He's fine, he's recovering. He's older now, he can't just bounce back from a stab to the chest like that, and I guess his leg got messed up given he's wearing a brace. Okay, this is how we're setting up Rook as in charge. Fine.

At first I was really good about checking on him just to hear his bits of dialogue, whether it be about the companions or about how he wishes he could get moving.

Something about it felt very... off. Very weird. I kept trying to figure out how the hell he survived getting stabbed like that, with the dagger, and then falling the way he did... and I started to wonder if maybe the fade saved him... that maybe the fade and the lighthouse were the only things keeping him alive.

Once that thought hit me, I was like.... oh fuck, is that going to be the reveal? Is he going to have a little exclamation point on his icon at some point? Is he going to ask to go somewhere because he's feeling better and he could use some fresh air? Maybe go out for a drink? And when we leave the fade, is he going to collapse like he's been stabbed all over again?

Are we going to learn that Varric's trapped?

Is the big reveal going to be that Varric can never go home? That he can never go back to Kirkwall? That Solas fucking doomed him to this... this purgatory state where he can't go home but can't move forward, not really? Because he's trapped in the lighthouse forever unless he chooses to die?

Are my choices going to ultimately affect his fate?

But then I started to forget about Varric... because he didn't do much. More time went on. The plot thickened. I became preoccupied with my companions. Sometimes he'd jumpscare me by being at meetings. I checked on him less and less.

I started to dread that oh.... alright, well maybe they brought Varric back because he's a fan favorite and they didn't actually have much planned for him after he got hurt.... but something's still fucking weird.

And I was right, something was indeed weird because then I got the reveal in the regret prison and I was............ Unwell.

I'm still unwell.

But I guess the fact that he can't ever go back home remains true, so...

I think my favorite completely unsubstantiated crack theory/headcanon about Zane is that the reason he keeps dying so much in later seasons is because he wasn't meant to survive his fight with the Overlord - and since him coming back to life defies fate, the Cloud Kingdom is now desperately trying to kill him as a means of course-correction. But he keeps coming back to life each time/the attempts to kill him keep failing for various inexplicable reasons, leaving him in this perpetual game of tug-of-war between life and death.

On the one hand you can get really angsty with it about how Zane isn't supposed to be alive, so death perpetually haunts him like a dark cloud, something he cannot escape but for some reason can never fully succumb to either, and is now something that is not quite dead but not quite alive...

...but on the other hand, I also think it's absurdly funny. Imagine, all of Zane's brushes with death are because the Cloud Kingdom has a very passionate one-sided beef with him. Even better if Zane himself is just blissfully unaware of any of this - he just thinks he has rotten luck. Meanwhile the Cloud Kingdom monks are just constantly at their wit's end because this weird little robot is bizarrely persistent. He's like a gas station raccoon that just won't leave - no matter how many times you throw it out of the store, it somehow finds its way in again the moment your back is turned.

“So,” Tim responded from where he was typing on his computer, mostly in civilian clothes save for his gauntlets and boots. The Red Robin outfit was haphazardly dropped across the couch and his pole leaning against the end. 

“Technically there’s proper procedures for clones…” Danny motioned to both himself and Ellie from where they sat on the counter, snacking on a plateful of scones. From Alfred, he was certain. 

“Technically, yes… but do we want to actually do that?” 

All three of them smiled, something almost feral in the motion. Of course not. They all had the same memories after all, and Bruce had just returned from the past, from exactly where and when Tim had said he was. Despite no one believing him, hence why they were in his boathouse, and not in the apartment or manor. 

“Think we can pull it off?” Ellie took a sip of tea, mischief swirling in her eyes. 

“Of course we can.” Both Danny and Tim spoke at once, one pulling up a new doc and the other pulling the whiteboard out from under a curtain.

I actually think Dorian and Orym should fight more.

Remember when their slowly building tension over and entire episode (full of passive aggressive remarks and blame throwing) led to threats? And how after, Orym thanked Dorian for handing over the crown sadly because he knew Dorian would be mad at him? And Dorian couldn't even look at him because he was legitimately hurt, thinking Orym was disappointed in him for doing what he thought was right? That was peak.

The fact they went from that to their current closeness and trust is the best part of their entire dynamic. Their relationship was hard fought and still will be. They will fight for it because they respect and care for one another deeply, and their disagreements don't change that, only improve it.

really like the idea that shen yuan and shen jiu aren’t two separate people, but rather the same soul existing in different dimensions. shen yuan might think that he’s not shen jiu, that he just stole the body and life of shen jiu, but in reality he IS shen jiu, just with different memories.

some people like to think that shen jiu and shen yuan swapped places when they died but i really like the idea of the universe placing shen yuan back in a world he already existed in before, just with new memories now. sort of like a villain redemption arc to give shen yuan the opportunity to make up for his past sins without him even knowing it <3

soundwave is reasonable, and every time megatron treats him like he isn't, the angrier he gets.
